Sweet as Honey - Fern Michaels

Enjoyable read about family and a coming home of sorts.

Would have loved more in regards to Natalie & Garrett’s storyline.

Everything She’d Ever Wanted- Lori Foster

A beautiful story about found family. I thoroughly enjoyed AnnaBeth, Devlin, Mia and Uncle Sony.

The Memory Cabin - Carolyn Brown

The saying “grow through what you go through” really resonates with the stories in this book. All of the characters are dealing with grief in their own way and time.

What a wonderful book to start your Summer reading with a trio of stories by some great authors. Each character comes to life in these stories. The authors descriptions and settings are realistic and appropriate for today's times. You'll want to grab this one and any stories by each of the authors: Lori Foster, Carolyn Brown, and Fern Michaels. They're always a delicious guy to read.

A free ARC was provided by Net Galley and the publisher, but all thoughts and opinions are my honest feedback.

I enjoyed all three of these stories by some of my top favorite authors. I am usually not a huge short story fan but these all felt like a full story to me. I hope they combine to do more. Don't miss this one!

I enjoyed these three short stories by all three of these great authors.

SWEET AS HONEY was great! I loved seeing Natalie go home to help her parents and find her way! She found that she was way happier back home again with her family and her friends. She also found out that she could do what she loved but tweak it just a little. In the meantime, she finds someone special also!

EVERYTHING SHE'D EVER WANTED was so sweet! I loved this story with the elderly neighbor and the dog that wins the heart of everyone. Annabeth doesn't really have anyone in her life but her little dog, but she gains a whole family by adopting her sweet neighbor. It turns out great for everyone!

THE MEMORY CABIN was definitely a great read by Carolyn Brown! She turns on her southern charm in this story. Jenna has a great cabin on the lake where her two friends come to visit her for a week. They have the best time and get to know the new park ranger. This year is the year they all move on for the better.

Great stories!

This was an entertaining, well-written anthology. Overall, the three stories were fun, heartwarming and sweet. These stories were about finding love in small-town settings. Though the first story was mostly told through the thoughts of the female main character and she had few actual interactions with the main male character, the other two stories were great and held my interest. I enjoyed these stories and would recommend the anthology to others.

I enjoyed the three short stories in this anthology. They are wholesome and entertaining. They are very different stories but go well together.

Thanks to the publisher & NetGalley for advanced copy, and I give my review freely

I was not a huge fan of this anthology. The first story was hard to read and the point of view was difficult to read - I gave up when the friend stole her boyfriend/ex-boyfriend.

The Lori Foster story was really well done although I wish it were longer. It was about Annabeth and Devlin. Annabeth lives next door to Devlin's elderly uncle and gets to know Devlin and his daughter over time. This was a wonderful story of friends to lovers.

The last story was about a lakeside community. This story was also hard to get into. Overall, one out of three stories were good, so I give it 3 stars.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book. This is my true and honest opinion.

SWEET AS HONEY * Fern Michaels

Healing a broken heart while helping her father mend a broken hip provides Natalie with the perfect distraction. In fact, it doesn’t take long for her to realize that her heart wasn’t truly broken after all. Could a certain beekeeper find his way into her heart? Despite her initial reservations, Natalie can’t help but be drawn to Garrett. This story goes beyond simply being impressed with Garrett’s beekeeping skills and honey-making process. In this charming novella, Natalie’s compassionate nature shines through, and it’s easy to hope for her to find her own sweet and happy ending.

EVERYTHING SHE’D EVER WANTED * Lori Foster

AnnaBeth, with her unfortunate past, has always yearned for a family of her own. Devlin, with his sweet little girl Mia, captures her heart. This touching story demonstrates that tragedy can blossom into hope. What Devlin and Mia have experienced has shown this to be the case. I thoroughly enjoyed the unfolding of this sweet romance, particularly the unconditional love that Mia embodies.

THE MEMORY CABIN * Carolyn Brown

Sparks fly instantly when Jenna and Carson meet, especially considering their shared history. This heartwarming romance includes the bonds of friendship as well as grief counseling, giving this book an emotional edge. While this was undoubtedly a wonderful romance, a tragic past and hidden secrets could have easily derailed everything.

I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories in this delightful anthology. It’s no surprise that each novella would have a happy ending. These heartwarming stories have an emotional depth that makes them a quick and enjoyable read.

Many thanks to Kensington and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

SWEET AS HONEY * Fern Michaels
This is a sweet short story about bad first impressions leading into something bigger. I do think it would have been better as a full length story though, there was a long lead up and a rushed ending.

EVERYTHING SHE’D EVER WANTED * Lori Foster
I love reading Lori Foster books, she can do sweet love stories just as well as she can do raunchy love stories and they are both perfect! Annabeth had a very different upbringing than most people and it's made her a solitary person who really wants what everyone else has. Devlin, a widow with a young child and an old uncle that lives next door to Annabeth, is ready to move on with his life after his wife died a few years prior. Great girl next door love story with all the usual issues that arise during their falling in love.

THE MEMORY CABIN * Carolyn Brown
Oh how I would have loved to have a place like the lake cabin to grieve after my mom passed away. To get away from everything and be able to work through everything seems like a great idea. I do like that by the end Jenna realizes that it's time to move on with her life.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This review is based on an ARC from NetGalley, courtesy of the publisher.

Three novellas about new beginnings in small towns by three great authors. All include pets, families and friends and the requisite happily ever after. Easy and quick reads for fans of these authors.

This was an interesting collection of stories. Very different to what I usually read but I enjoyed them.

The stories focused on the female characters and their relationships. Very little spice but some definite heartfelt moments. Had a womens fiction lite vibe to them. Easy, comfortable reading.

Lilac Time is a story collection with entries by Fern Michaels (Sweet as Honey), Lori Foster (Everything She’d Ever Wanted), and Carolyn Brown (The Memory Cabin). Each story finds a young woman at a crossroads of sorts, whether returning home, searching for her place in the world, or making peace with loss. As she seeks answers, the question she wasn’t asking is the one that gets answered.

Each is a sweet story with a feel good conclusion. I did enjoy this collection and would recommend it to those interested in this genre

Lilac Time by Fern Michaels, Lori Foster, and Carolyn Brown

Spring is in the air and change is coming to more than one woman in the three stories found in this collection ~ Nice easy read without drama and endings for all.

SWEET AS HONEY by Fern Michaels: Who knew that honey could be a pivotal topic in a romance. Natalie and Garrett didn’t have a sweet meet-cute but did eventually work their issues out and end up with a happy ending. I found this story to be more a telling of the story than one that engaged and drew me in.

EVERYTHING SHE’D EVER WANTED by Lori Foster: This engaged me from the very beginning and kept me interested till the end. I loved Natalie’s unassuming take-charge-ness and openness along with her giving attitude and loved that she found her dream family right next door. Devlin, Mia, Uncle Sonny, and chiweenie Ruby will stay in my mind for a while.

THE MEMORY CABIN by Carolyn Brown: This story had me tingling a bit toward the end when a young girl shows up on Jenna’s porch. The story addresses friendship, family, loss, grief, support, and change that comes when one is ready to move on. Loved Jenna and Carson together and enjoyed this story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.

4-5 Stars
