This book was a fun action book. It has so much to offer; murder mystery, sappic yearning, and more. The pacing was fast but easy to follow. This is the third book I’ve read of this author and I really enjoy her writing style. The multiple povs and time jumping makes everything more exciting. I can’t wait for more from her.

CW: Assault, Mild Gore (Blood, Wounds), Descriptions of Terminal Illness, Abuse (Parent to Child)
The structure of this book was off putting to me from the beginning. I don’t mind going back and forth in time in a novel, generally, but this book was so confusing to me. Then, in about the last third of the book, it became “real time” – why couldn’t it have just been like that from the beginning? Or at least gone from year to year and not “this many hours before X,” “this many days after X”?
I also found the whole situation behind the novel eyerolling. A spoiled, privileged high schooler can go on the run – successfully—from organized crime? More than once? Similarly, a high school first love lasts all these years despite being abandoned? I know trauma bonding can be powerful, and if I helped hide a body I’d probably feel close to that person until they disappeared without a trace.
I did find the ending of the novel satisfying, but the ride getting there was rough.

Tess Sharpe does it again!
This fast pace thriller is intriguing, exciting and unapologetically bisexual. This book is bingeable and the characters are relatable, well-developed and interesting.
It jumps between timelines and perspectives, which keeps it moving, though at times I found it a little too jumpy making it confusing to keep track of, but this was only a minority of the time.
This definitely requires some suspension of disbelief but with the characters being so loveable and the mystery/ thriller element being well-developed the stakes still felt high and it had a good dose of 'how the hell are they gonna get out of this?' moments.

Firstly, thank you NetGalley for approving me this digital arc in exchange for a honest review, it was the most fun I’ve had in a while reading.
Tess Sharpe never seems to miss with these tense mysterious- yet manages to incorporate a sapphic love story for the ages- esque books.
I couldn’t put it down, I tried, i genuinely tried to and do my adulting responsibilities and yet I could not.
But truly wow, I loved this book, how Tess Sharpe was able to have me tensely gripping my tablet picturing a woman hunted by an insanely terrifying yet apparently useless mob of men. To laughing while Chloe and Mel hurl insults as easily as they breathe air. She’s a wonderfully talented author and this book has definitely cemented her as an autobuy author for me going forward.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review; all opinions are my own. <3
DNF at 60%.
It had a really strong start, it got me hooked, but by the time the two main characters got reunited (which should be the start of the really interesting part) I wasn’t as interested. The writing style wasn’t exactly what I love, I feel like it was rushing to let us know how much the two girls love each other, but only with words - there were no scenes that actually showed us that.
I’m unfortunately not interested in the characters, in the plot or how it’s going to end.
Still, what a beautiful cover - I love it

This was my first book by Tess Sharpe, and all I can say is—I need to read everything else she’s written. No Body, No Crime is a high-octane, action-packed thriller that grabs you from the first chapter and never lets up.
Inspired by the Taylor Swift song, this book expands the universe into a full-blown mystery filled with secrets, sisterhood, and revenge. The pacing is relentless in the best way—every chapter is full of adrenaline, danger, and emotionally charged moments as our two main characters navigate a world where the truth is buried deep and trust is a luxury.
Sharpe’s writing flows effortlessly, drawing you into the story and making you feel like you’re right there, piecing everything together alongside the characters. Her ability to balance suspense with heart is incredible. Yes, some of the twists are hinted at, but it doesn’t take away from the emotional weight or satisfaction of the journey. In fact, it makes the reveals more personal—less shock for shock’s sake, and more about justice and emotional payoff.
This is the kind of thriller that doesn’t just keep you turning pages—it makes you root for its heroines, cheer at their victories, and gasp at their risks. It’s smart, fierce, and absolutely addictive.
If you’re into revenge thrillers, strong female leads, or Taylor Swift Easter eggs, this book delivers all that and more. A total must-read.

Queer girls murdering a terrible guy and going on the run should have been very my thing, but this just didn't do it for me. The non-chronological structure didn't work for me to build tension, especially because there was very little personal connection to the guy they killed. Hopping between past and present didn't make me feel any more intrigued or invested in the story. I pretty much skimmed the second half.
Ultimately, I just didn't find this convincing. Building a story around the personal elements and relationships and giving them time to develop would have felt more real to me. The bad guys didn't feel any more complex than Nancy Drew villains, and even the main characters didn't have much depth to them.

No Body No Crime tells a high-action fast paced story of family secrets and the unwitting bystanders of this drama. Mel, a private investigator, and Chloe, a golden child of the head family in their small town, are sucked into and on the run from their own problems and semi-organized crime after the murder and burial of Toby Dunne at Chloe's sweet sixteen party.
It is honestly better in my opinion to go into this story with very little details, since everything is revealed in due time. The story flips between both of their perspectives, with the occasional POV of other notable characters. It reads like the book equivalent of an action movie, with non-linear storytelling and things slowly revealed as they become relevant, unraveling a very messy and somewhat convoluted plot.
I enjoyed this story, and it was a pretty quick read. The plot was engaging and tense, there were quite a bit of funny moments, and the character relationships were complex and interesting to follow. The characters were nuanced, though I would have liked more time to deepen them and their relationships, since one of my biggest gripes with the book was with the main relationship, the romantic one between the two leads. I wasn't explored in enough depth for my liking and thus felt lackluster, which is unfortunate because I picked this up for the sapphic action thriller. A lot of their romance relied on the rekindling of a past relationship, but as there wasn't much of that seen in the flashbacks, it felt a lot more of telling me that they were in love rather than showing it. This being said, I still really enjoyed the story overall and will likely pick up other and future works by this author.
Rating: 4/5 stars.

THIS WAS SO SO SOOO FUCKINGGGG GOOD!!!!
Another Tess Shape book for the win!!! I loved both books in her “Girls I’ve Been” series, so I was super excited when she announced she was coming out with “No Body No Crime”! The vibes of this book are similar to her earlier series - badass women getting into messy situations involving dangerous powerful men - and I ate it right up! The plot is chock full of action, secrets, violence, and drama, and it kept me guessing up until the very end which I LOVE. I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy in July!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!! 🫶🏼

No Body, No Crime follows PI Mel as she attempts to track down her high school girlfriend that disappeared six years ago after they buried Toby Dunne for his crimes. Mel is able to Chloe living off the grid in the Canadian wilderness, desperate to stay hidden because someone’s hunting her. When they buried Toby, they buried something else and the family wants it back. As the girls run for their lives, secrets come to light and betrayals linger in the shadows as they risk everything to escape.
This was a fun read. I really enjoy Tess Sharpe’s thrillers. This one was a little slower and not what I expected, but still an enjoyable read. It’s very explosive and fast paced. And keeps you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed the twist at the end and the resolution. It was also really fun that part of it was set in Zeballos. As someone who grew up near it, I never thought I’d read a book set there.
I really liked that it was multi-pov. It was nice to get perspective from all sides and I found Rick’s pov to be very amusing. That whole family is quite funny and psychotically chaotic. Mel and Chloe were great mcs and I really liked their character arcs. Their star-crossed romance was really sweet and I’m very happy with how it ended.
Overall, if you love Tess Sharpe’s thrillers and are wanting more books like The Girl I Used to Be, I’d definitely recommend checking this one out.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

Messy, murderous, and magnetic—No Body No Crime delivers a sapphic thriller packed with survivalist grit, second-chance yearning, and just enough chaos to keep your pulse up and your heart wrecked.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC
It's hard to find books that thrillers and romance and also queer. And those being my two favorite categories this was perfect! I really enjoyed the suspense and humor in this.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC - this read was absolutely delightful!
This page turner kept me up past my bedtime - a perfect easy, action-packed summer read.
I loved both protagonists and the author did a great job balancing action, drama, and a touch of gore with humor, spot on one-liners, and a touch of romance. I felt totally absorbed into the story and was completely satisfied by the end. This will be a top recommendation I give, for sure!

Thank you NetGalley & MCD for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
No Body No Crime is a heart-pounding thriller following Mel and Chloe, teeming with secrets, betrayals, and a star-crossed romance for the ages.
I loved a lot about this book. I loved Mel and all the side characters (Nat, the twins, the bag of dicks). I loved the plot. I liked the surprise twists. I liked Sharpe's writing style. But you know the one thing I didn't love? Chloe. Which sucks, since she's the other main character. I won't say too much about her, because my dislike was a personal thing, but some of the romance aspects of this story did take me out just a little bit.
With that said, I still found myself way too pumped to put this book down and ended up finishing this book in just a day or so. As usual, Sharpe's got a unique storytelling ability that reels you in and bops you in the face when you least expect it - but in a pleasant way.
I think this book is great for any fans of fast-paced, fast-mouthed mysterious girls who deliver a whopping of a story while somehow also aiming guns/bows and surviving near death experiences left and right.
If I had any real complaints... I'd say that I wish certain things were more fleshed out.

Enjoyable read, loved how the characters were queer but it wasn’t entirely the main focus. I don’t usually read any mystery novels (I don’t know if this counts a mystery?) but I didn’t see any of the plot twists coming. It does immediately throw you into the middle of the plot which confused me for a second but I caught on relatively fast.

What a book! I thoroughly enjoyed this wild journey from start to finish. Thank you to NetGalley and MCD for providing this ARC!
Mel was such an interesting protagonist - her characterisation was layered. She was a genius, she was a survivor, she was tough. And all of those skills come in handy for getting away with murder...and surviving the consequences. The other side of the coin is Chloe: Mel's partner in both crime and love. Except six years ago, Chloe disappeared.
When the two women meet again, we're thrown into a fast-paced, nonlinear narrative that explores Chloe and Mel's relationship, both before the crime that initially throws them together and after. The two come from different worlds, but together they're unstoppable, and it is thoroughly satisfying to watch them survive everything the novel's author, Tess Sharpe, could throw at them.
The villains seem predictable at first, but there's a few surprises with Rick, Richard, and Junior. The Newell family have had untold political power in the town Chloe and Mel grew up in, gained through a life of drugs and crime. They make formidable enemies over the course of the story, mostly through the patriarchal cycle of violence they've been upholding for generations.
I did start to think, about halfway through the story, that I wasn't sure I was going to stick with it - it seemed pretty surface level, not super deep or introspective. But I was having fun, at least, reading about the complicated and at times toxic Mel/Chloe situation. I am really glad I stuck with it! There are some twists in the latter half of the second act, and again in the third, that surprised me!
I think this would be a fun read for anyone who enjoys a crime/thriller type novel. I had fun with it, and I really enjoyed how the third act brought everything together.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, MCD, and Tess Sharpe for this opportunity.
No Body, No Crime is a thriller/romance novel that weaves storytelling together through a non-linear timeline. Chloe Harper and Mel Tillman have been in love since they were sixteen years old. Getting caught up in a murder, they both take different turns in life. Chloe is on the run from a threat Mel doesn't know about, and Mel, a Private Investigator, is determined to find Chloe and bring her home. When they finally meet again, they have to face down an enemy Chloe has protected Mel from for all these years.
The relationship between the two women, who only want to protect one another, is one aspect of the book I loved. How they interact and care so deeply for one another was wonderfully written - the way they have each other's backs even when the plot thickens and takes a turn neither expect.
The thriller aspect of the book had me trying to piece together the clues when each new part of the story was revealed. It kept me wanting to continue reading and not stop. There were twists I didn't see coming, and some I did see coming.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I'll definitely be buying a copy when it comes out.

This book was FUN. It was convoluted and action-packed and had a tone reminiscent of Candice Fox’s books as secrets and gotchas were unraveled and main characters Chloe and Mel try to outwit dangerous adversaries. There were a few “out there” moments, but I could waive my suspension of disbelief because of the genre and style of the book. I sat down and listened to the audiobook (almost) in one sitting.
I will say, though, I kind of wish I’d read this one with my eyeballs. Sharpe’s narration tended towards shrill this time around (compared to The Girls I’ve Been/The Girl in Question) and I found it hard to differentiate between the characters with the higher voices (they lost some of their defining characteristics, especially when emotions were high). Plus I generally don’t like higher voices for audiobook narration anyway (personal preference).

I have become such a fan of Tess Sharpe’s writing that I’m going to end up reading all her stuff, even if it’s outside the genres I usually like. Her writing is excellent, her characters are nuanced, and she’s great with plot and structure. Really enjoyed this one.

Tess Sharpe does it again. Every book I've read so far has been full of suspense, chemistry and drama in all the best of ways. I do love the forever love "the one that got away" type trope. AND get you a girl who will bury a body with you. I will say this is maybe a 4.5 only because I feel like some things weren't fully addressed or resolved but given the book was over a course of maybe a week this is understandable. I wish there was something more to show what life is like for them in the future, especially now they have several lost years to unpack and a couple of nefarious politicians to take down. This is GREAT and a high recommendation, as with all Tess Sharpe's Books!
