Thank you to NetGalley for this e-copy of Day of the Dead ABC by Gabriela Orozco Belt in exchange for a honest review.This is a very informative book perfect for young readers written in both English and Spanish that describes the customs and rituals that Spanish speaking people perform during their 2 day ceremony to honor their dead relatives in the hopes that their spirits will return to visit.I as an adult learned so much from reading this book so this is definitely a book that parents can enjoy as well as children..The way that the book is written in ABC order also helps the young reader with identifying their letters.Very well written and researched.

This book was beautifully done. I have read several children's books about Day of the Dead, but this was by far the most detailed. I think this would be a great informational book for young children. The only thing I would change is that the English and Spanish descriptions kept swapping around; I found myself searching for which one to read. This might be a challenge for younger kids. But I do love that this book is bilingual; I just think it could be laid out a little better.

This is such a wonderful, fun and informative ABC book. And the illustrations are gorgeous! This isn't really a basic book -- some of the entries are more complex, but it uses the ABC theme to frame so many different ideas. I love it!
