If you enjoy a captivating story that’ll leave you spellbound with its unexpected turns, this is definitely a read for you. The author masterfully weaves a tapestry of intrigue with each twist and turn, keeping you on the edge of your seat. It’s an absolute page-turner, thanks to the constant stream of new revelations.
The story revolves around the contrast between two twins, raised in vastly different worlds. One, born into wealth and power, dreams of a life beyond their privileged existence. The other, yearning for the same, grows up in a world of poverty and dreams of a life of luxury.
A pivotal moment in their lives changes everything, transforming them from having nothing to having everything—but at the cost of concealing their true identities and assuming the roles of their counterparts.
This book was an absolute delight to read.

I didn't think it was possible, but The Other Sister is even creepier than Jessica’s prior LI Trade novels—and I loved it! This felt more like a phycological thriller, which is my favorite genre if I’m not reading romance. The premise was fresh and unique. There were multiple surprises during the course of reading this novel and I enjoyed not being able to guess what was going to happen next. A must read!

Charlotte Kane longs for a new beginning—one far from the neglect, abuse, and poverty she’s always known. While going through her recently deceased mother’s possessions, Charlotte makes a shocking discovery. She has an identical twin who was given up for adoption.
Acelynn Benedict has everything Charlotte dreams of—family, wealth, and success. When tragedy strikes their first meeting, Charlotte takes on her twin’s identity, hoping to escape life. Instead, she finds that her sister’s perfect world is nothing more than a thin veneer, masking a darkness she never imagined.
Wow! Just WOW! Twisty and mind-bending, Jessica R. Patch’s The Other Sister delivers everything a psychological thriller should. Every time I thought the story couldn’t become any more convoluted, it did. And I mean this in the best possible way. Unreliable narrators and secrets galore ensure that the reader can’t trust anyone. The author kept me guessing until the end when the final gasp-out-loud reveals (yes, there’s more than one!) finally took place.
Under the pen of a less skilled author, the protagonist who has made bad choices, and makes many more throughout the novel could have become unlikeable, and yet Patch had me rooting for her the entire time. I wanted to see her succeed and turn her life around.
The story contains a hint of faith and a thread of redemption; however, neither is overt. This book is not a light, easy read. It explores the dark reality and trauma of abuse, mental illness, addiction, murder, etc. This book straddles the line between Christian fiction and general market. In many ways, it reads like the latter, but it stops short in that the characters’ depravities while made clear are not described in full detail on the page. I really appreciate this in a novel.
I read this book within 24 hours when I first received it, but then got buried under deadlines before writing the review. So last week, I reread it to have it fresh in my mind and once again zoomed right through it. Yes, it’s that good!
I wouldn’t recommend this story to readers wanting books that stay more within the traditional Christian fiction conventions. But I highly recommend The Other Sister to readers looking for psychological thrillers that tackle raw, gritty themes without gratuitous descriptions.

Incredible read! A gets in your head and has you on the edge of your seat psychological thriller you won't want to put down. This captivating story takes unexpected directions page by page with so many twists and turns; Buckle up because this read is intense and thrilling to the very end. The writing is phenomenal and I don't know how but the faith element flows perfectly within the story. Everything about this book will stay with you well beyond the last page. I would definitely recommend this book.

What a wild ride! I loved all the twists and turns in this unexpected story. I'm very familiar with this author's work so I don't expect many surprises from her work. Wow was I wrong.
Hold on for a ride of unexpected twists and turns!

I am giving The Other Sister a five star rating because, if I were a fan of intense psychological thrillers, this would be a perfect book for me. It is well-written. The plot holds many unexpected twists and turns, especially just after the half-way point. The problem was that it was a bit too psychologically intense for me even though it is a clean read. Around the sixty-five percent mark while reading on my Kindle, I had to bail because it was more than I could handle. I did jump to the ninety-seven percent mark to see how everything fell into place at the end because, as we all know, it almost always does. This ending was quite satisfying for one character, but left quite a cliffhanger for another. Might a sequel be in the future?
I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of The Other Sister from Harlequin via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

This Jessica R. Patch thriller is her darkest yet, so it's not for the squeamish. But, if you start reading you probably won't stop! Patch is brilliant at creating deep, layered characters, and the protagonist Charlotte is one of the most fully realized. Patch is known for unexpected twists, but this story is on a whole new level. Yikes!

Jessica R. Patch’s The Other Sister delivers a psychological thriller that takes readers on an unpredictable, high-stakes journey packed with twists and unsettling revelations. From the very first pages, the story pulls you into a world where nothing is quite what it seems, and just when you think you have it figured out, Patch throws another curveball.
This novel excels in its pacing and tension-building, keeping the reader on edge with each chapter. The atmosphere is thick with suspense, and the characters are complex and compelling, particularly in how their relationships evolve as secrets unravel. It’s the kind of book that dares you to put it down—and wins.
However, some plot points could have benefited from greater clarity. There are moments where the narrative veers into slightly confusing territory, which may momentarily disrupt the flow for readers trying to piece everything together. Despite this, Patch’s storytelling remains engaging, and the payoff is ultimately worth the ride.
The Other Sister is a wild, thrilling read that thrives on unpredictability. If you enjoy psychological suspense with a touch of chaos and complexity, this one’s definitely worth diving into.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions shared here in this review are my own.

Charlotte Kane from Chicago is barely getting by. She's long estranged from her mother, but she does have a couple of close friends who are more like family than her mom ever was. When her mom dies, Charlotte learns a shocking secret - she has an identical twin who was adopted by an affluent family in Georgia. She makes contact with Acelynn Benedict, a woman whose looks are like gazing into a mirror, but whose life is a 180 from her own. When a grievous blow occurs just when she was meeting Acelynn in person, Charlotte has no choice but to head to Savannah and pretend to be Acelynn.
Let the mind games begin.
This book is not a "rah, rah, shish-kumbaya for God" read. But mark my words, it IS faith-filled. It's subtle, not overt. This is a dark and twisted, but CLEAN read. The light of the Lord shimmers through the dark cracks, reaching in to calm your fast-beating heart. It's a mind-boggling, drop-your-jaw psychological ride. I loved it!! Plus it has my favorite, an epilogue (and this one's a doozy)!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

I know that when I read a Jessica Patch thriller, I am going to be on the edge of my seat the entire time. I am going to be questioning, guessing, and trying to put all of the pieces together. I also know I will fail. Just as I did with The Other Sister. I was not expecting that ending…
This book is unlike any other story I have read! I was completely shocked by all of the twists and turns and the totally unexpected, but so well done, ending. Wow! This expertly crafted story will have you questioning everyone and trusting no one. When you think you have things figured out, you don’t. When I wasn’t reading it, I wanted to be. What a story!
I have enjoyed all of Jessica Patch’s thrillers and I cannot wait for the next one!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own. This is a clean read with a light sprinkle of faith. 5 stars.

This is the kind of book I like to read – one that keeps you guessing.
I liked the twisted and somewhat dark narrative to this tale of Charlotte (Char) discovering a truth about herself – the truth that she had a twin sister. Obviously, this came as a shock to her and apparently to her twin – Acelynn.
Acelynn Benedict … the rich one, the sister who seemingly had it all.
Wait until you meet Acelynn’s friend group – the group calls themselves The Pinks.
There are the brothers and the parents. Each of them holding onto their own secrets.
Along the way of meeting her twin, Charlotte finds herself in a situation she never thought she’d be in, so she had to run, which is something Charlotte was very good at. She had to leave behind her best friend, Tillie, because of what happened to Tommy, the third friend in this circle.
There are a lot of characters that make up the pages of this tale, but they each have a role in the telling. I found there to be quite a lot of ups and downs, twists and turns, dark vibes, lying, family discord … the big reveal was not what I was expecting at all. And that ending? There has to be more to this tale. I found the ending to be a cliffhanger that I was not expecting. A double twist for an ending, to me, for sure.

Acelynn Benedict is polished, successful and seems to have everything Charlotte yearns for—a wealthy, doting family in Savannah, a handsome boyfriend, a great career. She’s just as surprised as Charlotte to learn she has a sister. But when tragedy hits and Charlotte is forced to assume Acelynn’s identity in a desperate moment, she uncovers something altogether darker…
“Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!” This quote came to mind on more than one occasion as I was reading this book.
This story just keeps twisting around itself and, as a reader, you start second guessing your first thoughts. I mean…you have identical twins separated at birth! I love it when a book makes me question my sanity and this one definitely does.
At first, I did not really like Acelynn. I thought she was going to be a bit whiny….but oh no! Then there is Charlotte. You know something is up with her, you just can’t quite put your finger on it. But those are not the only characters you have to worry about. You must read this to find out!
The narrator, Romy Evans, had great intensity. She really nailed these characters!
Need a twisted tale which will have you guessing…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today!
I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

*Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review.*
Charlotte Kane has been dealing a hard life, and she just wants to find peace and possibly a family. When she finds out that she has a twin, Charlotte immediately wants to get to know her sister. They plan to meet, and it goes well, but something happens, and Charlotte finds herself trying to live her twin sister's life. She soon realizes that her long-lost sister's life is nowhere near as perfect as online claims it is.
I didn't know how to feel about this book at the beginning. Charlotte's character was entirely too gullible meeting her sister. She also made questionable choices throughout the book, but by the end, I was rooting for Charlotte. the side characters in this book were the definition of messy and drama filled. I ate it up. The last twist at the end surprised me and grossed me out. Biana was a nasty snake.
This story just proves that money doesn't always by happiness, and no one is as perfect as they seem online. Everyone has secrets. Some are just darker and more screwed up than others.

“Want is an open grave that needs to be constantly filled.”
Buckle up, y’all, because The Other Sister is a captivating ride full of stunning twists and unexpected turns right up to the very. last. word. WOW. This is an AMAZING psychological thriller that completely hooked me and made me useless for anything other than devouring page after page as quickly as possible. I’m not going to say much about the plot because I don’t want to spoil anything for you, but suffice it to say that there were several moments when my jaw dropped and I gasped out loud as Patch masterfully threw in a new twist that I didn’t see coming (despite trying to anticipate said twists the whole time haha). Her storycrafting is so top notch!!
“Truth hidden in darkness always comes to light, and secrets with it. Sins always find you out.”
Psychological thrillers are, by nature, rather dark and often feature characters who have strayed quite far into depravity or – at the least – a morally gray system of ethics. In The Other Sister, Patch introduces us to a whole heap of characters who are trying to fill the empty places in their souls with all the wrong things and even a few who have given evil a wide open door. And it’s tempting to want to pretend darkness doesn’t exist, isn’t it? But then we miss out on facets of the Light that shine most brilliantly when observed in contrast. That’s one of the many things I loved about The Other Sister – the way the author gently weaves in the Light to shine in the darkness for the people who most need to see it. It’s subtle but it’s there if you look for it without overpowering the story or feeling insincere.
“We’re all a bunch of messy, broken people pretending.“
Bottom Line: Wow! Jessica R. Patch is made to write psychological thrillers, and The Other Sister is her best yet. In fact, I’ve read several psychological thrillers across all markets (general, ‘clean’ and Christian) and this one just took the top spot in my list of faves. To say that I stayed thoroughly engrossed in this novel from beginning to end would be an understatement. Yes, it’s much darker than her Love Inspired Suspense novels… because that’s the nature of psychological thrillers. Yes, most of the characters really really act like they don’t know Jesus… because they don’t. Oh but dear readers, the Hope is there. The Truth is there. Subtly yes, but all it takes is a little Light to start dispelling the darkness, right? Especially when that Light comes from the heart of a Savior who died for people like each of these characters – and you and me – and would have done so even if they or we were the only ones who needed it. I read The Other Sister several weeks ago, and I’m STILL thinking about it. If you enjoy dark, twisty thrillers with gentle undertones of faith, then make sure this one is on your must read list!
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)

I loved the twists in this book, it was full of secrets, danger and drama that kept me invested to find out the truth.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This was a Psychological Thriller that will have you guessing and questioning everything you thought throughout this book. Even the Epilogue will have you saying "What?"
Charlotte definitely had a rough upbringing and made some bad choices along with those around her that were close or were supposed to protect her but everyone has the right for Redemption. Lots of twists and turns in this one!

Forget about bookmarks for this one . . . you’re not going to be able to put The Other Sister down!
When Charlotte Kane discovers she has an identical twin, she dreams of stepping into a new life, far away from the scars and memories of foster care. To a life where she is loved. But when a sudden tragedy gives her the opportunity to do just that, Charlotte discovers that the life she’s stepped into isn’t anything like she’d imagined. It’s much, much worse. Now, she’s only hoping to make it out alive.
A psychological thrill-ride of chilling suspense from beginning to end!
*Thank you to NetGalley and Love Inspired Trade for the complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

If you are ready to keep your mind reeling and mouth dropping, then this is the book for you. No one is who they seem!
Charlotte has an identical twin sister, but where could she be. She has got to find her!Charlotte does her homework and sees this fairytale life her sister Acelynn has. This is far from the life Charlotte lives. Is Acelynn really all she paints herself to be? I have never thought of how easy it could be to take on the identity of your twin, but boy did Charlotte do it well. She is the masterful manipulator!
Hold on to your seats for twists and turns in this psychological thriller that has you guessing to the last page is turned.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Net Galley and these are all my own opinions.

The Other Sister is a dark and twisty thriller that stayed with me long after I finished the book. After the death of her mother who was an addict, Charlotte discovers that she has a twin sister who was given up for adoption. Acelynn has the kind of life that Charlotte has dreamed about and after a tragedy, assumes Acelynn's identity. Author Jessica Patch has written characters that hide their evil underneath a shiny veneer. Charlotte has a faithful friend from her old life and an incorruptible police detective who shines true light into her life. The plot is filled with twists that blew me away, and just when I thought it was over--BAM! There came another huge one. I highly recommend this book to psychological thriller readers, especially those that enjoy a character being redeemed by the end.
I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley and am sharing my opinion of this exciting and very well-written novel.
