~Audiobook Review~ 🎧 📖
I love sports romances and this was my first tennis romance and I’m obsessed! This story follows pro tennis players Scottie and Nico who team up to play mixed doubles. Scottie is out to avenge herself in the tennis world and Nico is her father’s formal rival who is looking for one last title after recovering from an injury.

This story has all the tropes I love, age-gap, enemies to lovers, grumpy MMC, forced proximity, not to mention the dual POV’s on audio was perfection! And the spice! Wow! It made this slow burn worth the wait and I was giggling and screaming at how amazing the audio was! I fell absolutely in love with Scottie and Nico, how their partnership progressed, and how protective Nico became over Scottie! Nico had me swooning!

If you’re looking for a slow burn sports romance with witty banter, tension, and spice, you have to read this! You’ll be so glad you did! I can’t wait to read my ARC for Game Point, the second book in the Game, Set, Match series.. Thank you to Meg Jones, NetGalley, and HarperAudio for this audiobook!

The book was good but not great. I like that it switched back and forth between the two characters. But it was a little frustrating b/c sometimes the character would repeat the same scene but from the other POV. It made the book feel repetitive.

A little too long but great spice and fun for tennis lovers! Bingeable even for non-sports fans. I loved the dual narrations (both narrators were perfect). I loved that the chapters began with a song.

I loveeee an enemies to lovers sports romance and I really enjoyed this book!! I loved Scottie and Nico’s dynamic and chemistry. Her dad sucks. I also enjoyed the narrators!!

🎧 I was able to listen to this book which was narrated by Mary Jane Wells and Patrick Zeller. I thought both did a great job brining the characters to life. I also enjoyed Wells accent and thought it added to the character.

This spicy, enemies to lovers tennis romance will have you wish for LOVE and not in tennis terms 🎾

Scottie and Nico are both trying to make a come back for very different reasons. Can the two get passed their differences to win on and off the court?

I’m still delving into sports romances but enemies to lovers is definitely my jam! This was a little slow and I didn’t really connect to the characters. I do recommend checking this out for yourself and the audio was fabulous and helped me breeze through.

Thank you to the author, Meg Jones, publisher, Harper Audio, and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this book. I received the audio and my review is being left voluntarily.

I really liked the audio book. I normally speed up audiobooks but I listened to this one on regular speed and I enjoyed the whole thing.

I totally was not expecting a British accent for this one, though I'm not sure why I was so sure about it. This added an entirely new element to the story for me. I'd already finished the physical book when I was assigned the audiobook by the publisher. I'm so glad because this narration made it feel like I was reading it again for the first time. What a delightful addition to my book collection! The book is hilariously addicting with characters that work. The tennis world is portrayed in a way that makes me believe the author is a fan of the game. A+ listening experience & book!

Audiobook review

One of the best stories I've listened to this year so far for sure!

I loved the plot and character developments. The world building was fantastic from the paparazzi, tennis comeback, and finding yourself.
Some of the side characters left an impression on me too. The banter and chemistry between the main characters was funny, sweet, dirty, and powerful. I ship them for sure.

Can't wait to go back and read the next book in the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Clean Point" as a delightful and quick read that kept me mostly engaged. The character development of the main characters, Scottie and Nico, was both thoughtful and nuanced, evolving in a way that felt authentic. I really loved that it turned into more a vendetta and how protective they were of each other.

While I found the storyline fun, I did feel that the random Taylor Swift references were a bit annoying as they felt like a nod to a specific audience rather than integrating into the narrative at all. However, at the end of the day, this doesn’t really matter or have a play in how I felt about the book as a whole; maybe the author just wanted to show her love for the singer.

Overall, it was a refreshing book with its witty prose and well-drawn characters. If you're looking for a heartwarming story with romance, character growth, and a fun sports narrative, I do recommend this.

Do you love Wimbledon?
Do you love Wimbledon (2004)?
If you answered yes to either of the above, you're going to love this book. A whopping 12 hours, I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. Scottie and Nico's journey (both individually and as a couple) from rageful and petty to love is beautiful to be part of. I NEED more tennis romance, mkay? Wells Whittaker got me into golf, and Nico Kotas and his baseball hat reminded me why I love tennis romance.

This is the first book I've listened to narrated by Patrick Zeller and I absolutely LOVE his voice and want more of it. Mary Jane Wells did Scottie well, really tying me to the character more through audio than I would've been just reading. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a listening copy of this book.

I really ended up liking this book more than I anticipated from the start. I really felt for Scottie and the situation with her dad. I was genuinely frustrated on many levels and was glad when the resolution finally came. I have to say I’m glad she had such a strong support system and that the people around here never doubted her. I think my favorite part of this book is there THERE IS NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP. Thank the lord!!! My only gripe is that I didn’t love the narrators. I think this book had the potential to be five stars for me but the delivery of the narrators dropped it down to a 4.25. I’d definitely read more from this author. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Audio for the ARC and the chance to review!

As a sports romance girly and more importantly a swiftie, I LOVED THIS! I definitely prefer audio when it comes to reading, just becuase I feel like I can accomplish things while also listening in. With that being said, how the voices sound are important to me, and I could not have picked a more fitting voice for either of them!! I love this!!
Do not get me wrong, I did have my moments where I was not the biggest fan, but ultimately this is definitely one worth reading/listening to.

Clean Point written by Meg Jones and narrated by Mary Jane Wells and Patrick Zeller was a dual POV enemies to lovers/age gap/little bit of domsub/family drama tennis romcom. Meg Jones starts each chapter with a coordinating song that fits the mood of the character POV and chapter. Lots of Taylor Swift chapters. A great read or listen for any fans of romance and tennis both. It helps to understand the game of tennis to thoroughly enjoy the book.

I go back and forth of whether I liked this. At points I really enjoyed it and at other points it draggedddddd on and I was so uninterested in anything that was happening. this was my first tennis romance so maybe that just wasn’t my style?

“I wanted to prove it to everyone that while Scottie Rossi was dead and buried, Scottie Sinclair was back for revenge.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was so good!! I don’t know much about tennis but Scottie & Nico had me hooked! I love Scottie’s character & her being herself no matter what the tabloids or competitors said. She is who she is & didn’t take the easy way out when she could’ve. & her relationship with Nico blossomed in the sweetest way. Had me rooting for them the whole time! The audiobook was phenomenal!

Thank so much to HarperAudio & NetGalley for this Audiobook!

3.75 stars ⭐️ The plot was excellent! Mary Jane did a phenomenal job narrating for Scottie. The accent was perfect and I felt immersed in her scenes. But I was not vibing with the narrator for Nico.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperAudio for the ALC.

If the 2004 movie Wimbledon gave you a good ol’ giggling and feetsie kicking time - then this is the book for you.

I really liked that Scottie and Nico were doubles partners in addition to battling their way in singles as well. I think it helped showcase how they built each other up in a number of ways.

I really really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of more serious themes that were addressed that added so much depth to the story. We explored the MC’s relationship with pain, but also empowerment and self worth. Everything revolved around building trust, but also navigating spaces where it was broken. It’s definitely more than your average fluffy sport’s romance. The audiobook was a dual POV with two narrators, which I always enjoy. I think I’ll be thinking about this book for a little bit. Well done, especially for a debut author. I look forward to reading the next ones!

Clean Point is my first tennis romance, and I think it just might’ve created an interest in the sport I didn’t have before. I was hooked from the beginning, loved the banter and chemistry between Nico and Scottie.

Tropes:
Sports Romance: Tennis
Enemies to lovers
Age Gap
Dual POV

I was so excited to listen to this book! I havent read too many tennis romances, but this one was so fun.

Scottie and Nico have amazing chemistry, and I loved seeing them work through their own issues while working together as a team.

I loved the slow burn of the book and the evolution of the story. Jones really brings you in to what Scottie and Nico were going though.

I really enjoyed this book, and will definitely check out others by Jones.
