I’ve read many books by Katee Robert, and this one started off really strong in my opinion. The problem was once the relationship between the Male Main Character and the Female Main Character began, the story seemed to be like a stone rolling down a hill. It just became so rushed and fast, no more thought seemed to have been put into the dialogue. I wished the book would’ve further explored the damage the Female Main Character’s ex-fiancé had caused and had a real explanation as to how she seemingly just forgot about her apparent trauma. It was such a rushed HEA, that I felt jilted.

Excuse me, Katee Robert - but how dare you make me blush like this?! *chef's kiss* for such a hit!

This was such an excellent story! The audiobook was a quick, easy listen. Knowing this is only the first of four in the series makes me remember what Christmas mornings felt like when I was a child.

I think this may end up being my favorite series by Katee Robert!

You know when an audiobook makes you blush in public and you have to casually fake cough through your earbuds like, “Haha, yes, just listening to… a very intense legal drama”? Yeah. That’s Make Me Want for you. And I wanted every minute of it.

Katee Robert’s Make Me series, where women know their worth, men know how to worship it, and narrators like Alexa Elmy deliver every scene with the perfect mix of sass, steam, and swoon.

This first instalment follows Lucy Baudin, a fierce and fabulous lawyer climbing the corporate ladder, but with one tiny hiccup: her firm wants to see her “settled down” before they slap that shiny Partner title on her door.
Enter: the fake husband hunt. Enter also: Gideon Novak. Tall, dark, handsome, and—oh yes—her ex’s best friend. And now, her headhunter-slash-bedroom-coach.
Wait.
Back up.

Yes, Lucy hires Gideon to help her find a husband.
Yes, she also asks him to help her rediscover her sexual confidence.
And yes, they’re totally, painfully, chemically combustive from the very first chapter.

What starts off as a professional favour quickly melts into "oops-we're-doing-it-on-the-desk" territory. But what’s so refreshing is that Katee Robert infuses her signature female empowerment vibe throughout. Lucy doesn’t need saving, she just needs someone to remind her she’s a damn queen, in and out of the courtroom. And Gideon? Well, Gideon is the dreamboat with boundary issues who turns her checklist into a swoony, steamy, happily-ever-after.

Now, lets talk Narration!
Alexa Elmy captures Lucy’s strength, vulnerability, and growing sensuality with subtle vocal shifts, while also giving Gideon that sexy, gravelly tone that makes you want to... ya know, accidentally relisten to Chapter 12 five times.

Whether it's playful banter or bedroom heat, Elmy delivers with finesse. You really feel the emotional evolution of Lucy and you get those toe-curling lines delivered like a whispered secret in the dark. Total win.

Fun, filthy, and unexpectedly heartfelt, this story is a treat! Lucy is the kind of heroine who makes you cheer, “YES, TAKE THAT PROMOTION AND ALSO THAT MAN.” And Gideon, bless him, is basically a walking fantasy with great communication skills and a slow-burn heart of gold.

This audiobook is a quick listen, a spicy pick-me-up, and an empowering ode to female agency, whether it’s in the boardroom or the bedroom. You’ll laugh, you’ll fan yourself, and you might just wish your local HR rep looked like Gideon.

This book was so much fun. It was a spicy fun time that I really enjoyed. I loved the dynamic between our characters and that they have a past that neither wants to admit to. This was sexual tension that was brewing since college and once they gave in it was like setting off a firework. Also loveddddd the narrators.

I absolutely loved this book! I felt completely drawn into Lucy’s journey as she worked to rebuild her confidence and take control of her life. I admired her determination to make partner at her law firm and prove herself, even as she navigated the emotional scars left by her ex. I found her boldness in asking Gideon for help both surprising and empowering—it made me root for her even more.

I felt the chemistry between Lucy and Gideon leap off the page. Their dynamic was electric, and I couldn’t get enough of their interactions. I loved how Gideon’s initial shock at Lucy’s request turned into a deeper connection as they spent more time together. I felt their relationship evolve in such a natural and heartfelt way, and I couldn’t help but hope they’d find their way to each other.

I appreciated how the story balanced humor, romance, and emotional depth. I felt like Lucy’s vulnerability and Gideon’s internal conflict added layers to their characters, making them feel real and relatable. I loved how the book explored themes of self-worth, trust, and the courage to take risks in both love and life.

I found myself laughing at the witty banter and swooning over the tender moments between Lucy and Gideon. I felt invested in their journey, and I couldn’t put the book down because I needed to see how their story would unfold. The mix of humor, passion, and heartfelt emotion made this such a satisfying read for me.

Overall, I thought this book was a perfect blend of romance and personal growth. I felt inspired by Lucy’s resilience and touched by the way she and Gideon brought out the best in each other. It’s a story that left me smiling and wanting more.

This was a spicy little audio companion to have for a few days. I’m gonna be thinking about the boardroom and the fitting room for a very long time. I didn’t love the narration completely but it wasn’t bad either

I'm always impressed by authors who write for Harlequin because they're able to write such a full fledged story with such limited time. Katee Robert is also one of my favorites to read from. I normally tend to lean towards more of their fantasy romances so it was interesting to read a contemporary romance from them for the first (?) time.

I will say that there were points where I wish that it had gone more in depth with feelings and emotions, but I understand that the whole point of Harlequins is for them to be short and sweet,

The reason that this ended up with a 3-star rating was because the ending frustrated me so much. It felt so cheap and rushed and just made me mad.

Regardless, I did enjoy the premise and I think I will continue on with the series!

WHY do I always do this to myself? I always go for Katee's books and I'm always let down. Sure, her books are spicy but there is no heat.

The narrator also felt still to me, something was off.

Audiobook Review
4 ☆
Make Me series by Katee Roberts. Meet four women who know what they want and the four men who will give it to them! Make Me Want is also book one in the series. Lucy Baudin’s ex did a number on her self-esteem, but it’s time for her to regain control. She’s about to make partner at her law firm and having a husband by her side would prove she’s settled and serious. But in the bedroom, she needs inspiration to reawaken her inner seductress. Asking her friend Gideon Novak for help.

This book is spicy in the best possible way; the best friend-to-lover trope is my thing, and this book delivers that vibe. The audiobook is good; the narrator did a good job telling the story, and it was easy to listen to and understand. I listened at 2x speed.

Thank you, Netgellay, and Harlequin Audio for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

This was...okay. A little outside my realm, storywise. There is a lot of sex and this book could have a way more sultry feel but I felt the narrator was too chipper for the sexyness of the story. Great for romcom, but this title called for a richer tone.

The book started off with a strong backstory, which immediately drew me in. The initial setup was well done and gave me high hopes for an engaging read. However, as the plot unfolded, I found it lacking in excitement. The storyline had potential, but it didn't quite deliver the thrill I was anticipating.

The characters seemed to lack the depth that I usually look for in a book. The focus on romance was quite prominent, and while that can be enjoyable, it felt like the plot needed more substance to fully capture my interest.

I also had a bit of a hard time with the FMC, as she came across as somewhat whiny. This made it difficult for me to fully engage with her journey and experiences.

If you're in the mood for a quick, spicy read, this book could be a good choice. It offers a light, easy-to-digest narrative that's perfect for a brief escape. While it didn't quite hit the mark for me in terms of plot and character development, I can see how others might enjoy it for its romance and quick pacing.

Overall, it's a decent option if you're looking for a light read with some romantic elements. Just be prepared for a storyline that may not be as compelling as you'd hope.

Make Me Want is a spicy work place romance. Lucy is in search of a husband to increase her chances of making partner at her law firm. In order to achieve this goal, she hires her ex-fiance’s best friend. However, that’s not the end of the help that Lucy needs - she also needs some help in the intimacy department. What ensues is lust filled interaction after interaction. Say what you want, but Robert knows how to write a spicy scene. They’re always so well done. Robert is also great at creating chemistry between love interests, and in this relatively short read, Robert gave us delicious chemistry between characters that I could not get enough of. I also appreciate how complete of a story, Robert was able to introduce. I read this via audiobook and it was so great. The audiobook was narrated by Alexa Elmy, and Elmy did so well. Sometimes spicy books can tread into cringe territory with the audio but Elmy balanced it so well where it was emotional and energetic without being off-putting. I had a great time with this story.

I was really excited to read Make Me Want by Katee Robert because I've actually already read the second book in the series. I'm so glad I went back and read the first because I adored it! It's a short and easy read perfect to binge in one sitting. The characters had amazing chemistry. The steamy scenes were just what I was hoping for. Katee Robert is definitely a go to author when I'm wanting a spicy story. The audiobook was really well done. The narrator's voice was perfect for the book.

Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This audiobook is definitely a fun, spicy ride! Lucy Baudin has been through a lot with her ex, and now she’s ready to take control of her life—especially when it comes to love. She's on the verge of making partner at her law firm and thinks that having a husband by her side will make her seem more “settled.” But in the bedroom, she’s feeling a little lost. Enter Gideon Novak—her friend and a headhunter, who’s more than willing to help her out. He’s shocked at her request to help her find a husband, but their chemistry is off-the-charts hot, and things quickly go from business to pleasure.

The whole dynamic between Lucy and Gideon is what really makes this book stand out. He’s always been attracted to her, but since she was once engaged to his best friend, he’s kept his distance. The more time they spend together, the harder it is for him to stick to just being her "husband-hunting" buddy. The romance is steamy and full of chemistry, but it’s the emotional growth that keeps things interesting. Alexa Elmy does a great job narrating, bringing all the heat and tension to life. If you're into workplace romance with some serious sparks flying, this is definitely a book you’ll want to check out!
