This is such a great cookbook and I can't wait to get a copy for myself! It's family friendly and simple recipes that sounds so delicious and easy to make. I love the concept of cooking once and getting two meals of it--perfect for meal prepping the week ahead.

What a great idea for a cookbook, great information and ideas and some great recipes and ideas on how to use up the leftovers. I do like a book like this as I hate to waste anything and always look for ways to use up leftovers.
Recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients are foods I know and can easily get. This is a book for everyone as it is fun and useful and tasty to boot!

I simple and interesting book from Nadiya Hussain, and the tastiest recipe cooked so far is the cheese fest potato bake - it is easy and quikc to make, and loved by everyone at dinner. Banana bread is a staple in our house, and using almond extract is a new twist for us. While it may not be a regular recipe, it was good and made a great loaf. The chicken and sausage mushroom casserole hand pies are perfect for my son to take for school lunches, and will be on regular rotation here, The books simple recipes, with short ingredient lists, and easy to follow instructions cannot be bettered. Next on our list is the lime pickle lamb! While I do like the recipes I have tried, and hope to cook a few more, I think there are too many that I wont, so it sadly will probably not be a staple on my shelf. Thank you for the opportunity to read it, I have really enjoyed it.

Nadiya does it again with this next cookbook installment. The way the recipes were organized were very straightforward and the pictures were gorgeous. As someone in the US I always love seeing other ideas from across the pond. As someone who dislikes eating the same meal for a whole week this is a great cookbook to shakeup how to make two meals from one main batch of cooking!

Cook One, Eat Twice is a cookbook for anyone wanting to be more economical in the kitchen while still preparing fresh food. I was drawn to this book in the interest of reducing my food waste. I am cooking for both adults and children, so I encounter too much food waste daily.
The cookbook is divided into several sections. I found the Back to Basics section really interesting. I am not a novice cook in the kitchen, but this section had me rethinking how I utilize my ingredients for things that are daily staples for us. One of the things that stood out to me was the roast chicken. I partially related to Nadiya's anecdote about ripping the cold chicken from the fridge. It felt relatable, and that same feeling lasts through the entire book.
The book only provides recipes in volume, which means that people who use weight measurements will have to convert the recipes.
Overall, it's a brilliant cookbook with a range of recipes that any family will enjoy.

What a wonderfully approachable cookbook! Reading this felt like sitting at the kitchen counter with a friend — nothing was complicated and all of the recipes were well picked for a go-to cookbook. I’m still new in my cooking journey, so I really appreciated both the baseline recipes as well as all of the ideas for preventing food waste. Absolutely loved!

Cook Once, Eat Twice is such a great concept for a cookbook! It can get boring just reheating leftovers and I like how this book has ways to transform them into fun new meals so it doesn't get repetitive. The recipes in the book were tasty and easy to follow. I only wish that there was more variety to the recipes in the book.

I like the way this book was set up. There was one recipe and then the following recipe was another way to use the leftovers. I loved all the pictures of the food! But I've never seen so many pictures of the cook as I have in this book. lol I liked that she included a tip for each recipe to help you go further,
The only disappointment I had was that there was a section for basics and how to use them in several meals. I would have loved a section like that.

I absolutely adore Nadiya Hussain! Her recipes are always super easy to follow and extremely delicious!
This book is exactly all of that! Her personality shines through, the images are beautiful, the recipes are incredibly easy to follow and they are all packed with flavour!
The concept of cooking once to consume multiple times is something most of us with families to cook for typically do.
This book is wonderfully sorted and I love that there's a section for different acts like using one dish and making it into another, what is freezer meal friendly, what can be cooked and be divided to create two different dishes from one component.
I will definitely be adding this book to my go-to recipe books for quick, delicious meals that are easy, delicious and perfect to batch cook!

I should have thought things through before I requested this title. I adore Nadiya Hussain, and I have watched the series for this book on the BBC. Unfortunately, I am traveling for the next several months and unable to try any of the recipes. It is a good read, I fully endorse the concept, and I am sure the recipes are great, but I cannot throughly review this title.

Begins well with heartfelt dedication and introduction. The book is made up of seven chapters – the first being ‘Back to Basics’ which is a foundation for good meals such as Ultimate Mashed Potatoes. Once learned will be used in multiple recipes. The following chapters cover leftovers, make ahead recipes, intentional leftovers (Two Dishes), no waste, simple bakes, and waste not want not. There are tips scattered throughout the book which are helpful.
In the Two Dishes chapter there is a Peanut Chicken Traybake which then becomes a Noodle Soup which looks especially yummy. There are words that are particularly British, but they are easily looked up.

I loved this cookbook! There's everything from breakfast, to dessert, and everything in between! Whether you're after a decadent brownie, or a delicious curry, there's going to be a recipe in here for you. And even better, it makes use of leftovers and off cuts, making food waste a thing of the past. Want to make a curry using banana skins? It's in here! Want to make a yummy, cheesy gratin using potato peelings, it's in here! The perfect solution to less food waste, and less time in the kitchen in general - the recipes make your food go further.
Would definitely recommend.

Cook Once, Eat Twice is a great cookbook. I have been a fan of Nadiya Hussain since she was on the Great British Bakeoff. She is very talented and develops amazing recipes. This book is no exception. Not only are the recipes great, the entire concept of the book is unique. The book focuses on creative leftovers, minimizing waste, and effortless meals. I love the idea of cooking a meal and then using the leftovers to create a different meal. I also very much appreciate the idea of limiting food waste and prioritizing healthy meals. The recipes are unique and delicious with easy to follow directions. I think this is a must have cookbook for any home cook. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a solid cookbook with a ton of great tips and tricks. The recipes are simple, straightforward, and the directions are detailed, easy to understand and follow. The layout is very clean and easy to read too. I also loved the photos, and they are beautiful and give you a very clear look of what the dishes are supposed to look like.
It was nice to see dishes from a wide variety of cuisines. I think that there is something for everyone to enjoy, even picky eaters.
This cookbook was written with a European audience in mind. There were a few ingredients that I needed to look up the US equivalent of, like Maris Piper potatoes. Those appear to be the same as Yukon Gold.
Overall most of the ingredients are easy to source or find replacements for, but there are a few here and there that are hard to find in rural areas.
There are lots of delicious recipes that I plan on making soon, and I really love the recipes for leftovers. Those will be very useful for years to come.

I've followed Nadiya Hussain's journey from GBBO to mainstream success-- and have enjoyed the fruits of her efforts! While she's known as a baker, this book is great for families who are terrible with leftovers and for great ideas on how to utilise them so they aren't boring. It's for households that definitely could use more inspiration for meal prepping and if I did more cooking myself, I'd use it. The nice thing about this book is that she does break it up and teaches the basics before moving onto more complex recipes. I'd recommend this one for households that are into meal prepping but have members who don't necessarily want to eat the same thing over and over. (Great for those of us with who need variety lol)

This cookbook is perfect.
Eating leftovers is hard and sometimes disgusting. This cookbook provides a recipe to a meal, and then how to eat it leftover in a fun and new way. It's perfect for anyone who has a hard time eating leftovers.
It also has some simple, everyone-should-know, recipes in case you're VERY new to cooking. while also giving tips and tricks in the beginning of the book.
Would absolutely recommend for new cooks!

A great cookbook full of ideas on how to reuse ingredients to stretch them over multiple days without eating "leftovers" each day. I would highly recommend this to people looking to minimise their spending on ingredients or reduce food wastage

I love this book! I have a friend who is quite the home cook and a big fan of Nadiya, I may just have to buy her this book. It’s beautifully put together. It has some unique dish ideas, not just the same stuff you see in every other cook book. I’m really looking forward to trying a few of these, especially the banana pancakes and the salmon dish.
