A unique and interesting take on time travel. A thought provoking story as usual by Laura. A beautifully written book.

Maddy Hart has a gift—or maybe it’s a curse? Every time she sleeps with someone, she’s flung 10 years into the future for a brief moment. After a few discouraging experiences, she swears off relationships entirely—until she meets Oliver. He’s almost too good to be true. But can Maddy handle the glimpses of the future and trust that these visions don’t have to define her destiny?

Maddy’s character drove me a little nuts at times. Her unwavering belief in these visions gave her a bit of a “playing god” vibe, and there were moments when I didn’t like her very much. That said, the premise of the story was intriguing and fun. It really makes you think: What would I do if I could catch a glimpse of my future?

Overall, this was an enjoyable read that left me pondering the “what ifs” in life.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Another thought provoking concept from Laura Pearson.

Madder has a vision of herself in 10years time every time she has sex. Most off putting I’m sure. She sees where that relationship will take her and for most of the men in her life it’s enough to end things there and then.

This was a really interesting storyline and I loved seeing how it played out.

Can’t wait to see what Pearson comes up with next!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the copy to review.

🕰Another moving triumph😍

Laura Pearson's novels fill a unique space on my bookshelf with their clever use of magic realism and deeply moving plots. Maddy Hart's story grabbed me from the first chapter and never let go.

Maddy is certain that her unique ability to get a brief vision of what her life will be ten years hence if she's with the man she's taken to her bed is prophetic, not just a daydream or fantasy. And this certainty shapes her life, allowing her to shy away from romance and leave most men after one encounter. Until she finds a wonderful male roommate and fellow actor named Oliver who might be the one.

Maddy's forays into a future with Oliver lead to a heart wrenching decision that no one but her BFF Priya (the only one Maddy has told about her visions) can understand. I really felt for Oliver, because the profound effect of her decision falls so heavily and unexpectedly on him and it seems there's no way he can stop it.

I saw the ending of the book as not disappointing so much as uncertain. A reader can take the givens and decide what is in store in ten years' time.

I love Pearson's writing and her novel ways of bringing the joys and sorrows of life to the page. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Well written; a bit more romancy than I usually prefer, but the seeing-the-future thing was such an interesting ‘angle’ that I really, really enjoyed the story.
BUT.
I absolutely hated the way it ended. No spoilers; but, for me, the ending just ruined the whole book. .

Maddy has visions of herself in the future and it has really put her off relationships until she meets Oliver. The glimpses of her future with Oliver are brief and intriguing. The story is told mostly in the present with the reader joining Maddy on her visits ten years into her future. There are so many layers to this story that explores a variety of relationships from friendship, romance and family. Definitely recommend.

Having enjoyed the unique concept behind The Beforelife of Eliza Valentine I was delighted to be offered the chance to read this novel for a blog tour.

My curiosity was aroused by the intriguing blurb for The Many Futures of Maddy Hart which appealed to me on so many levels.

The Prologue was all I needed to whet my appetite for what was to come and be completely invested in this story. Maddy Hart has a unique gift - or curse, depending on how you see it, of glimpsing the future during intercourse. She can see how her life will pan out if she takes the route she is currently on.

As usual, I tried to guess how the story would unfold with each nugget of information gleaned from Maddy's visions of the future, only to find I was often wrong.

As with The Beforelife of Eliza Valentine, this story made me stop and think about choices made and the paths they take us down.

A really thought-provoking story that I would highly recommend.

Requested this book off of netgalley because the summary seemed really interesting.
The story follows Maddy Hart and how she can see multiple futures with her significant others when they boink. Honestly, I found the characters, besides Priya, a little boring, with the interesting part about Maddy being the fact that she can semi-see the future.
The writing structure also felt disjointed and difficult to follow sometimes with different scenes and change of locations being abrupt. However, I did enjoy the plot and did not struggle to finish the book. By around the 50% mark I was hooked and finished it in one go. Feeling a bit meh about the way the author wrote Maddy approaching her relationship with the knowledge of the future and thought the ending was kinda like a “here, damn” 🫳🏼
Would still recommend to anyone else that finds the plot summary interesting.

Thank you to netgalley for the ARC!

This was a cute story but a little predictable in the middle and toward the end. I do really enjoy this author's writing style and how you can really connect to the characters. The Romantic element was very present and overall it was an enjoyable book.

What if you could travel to the future, and discover how your life has changed . This is exactly what happens to Maddy when she catches glimpses of her life ten years on every time she has an intimate encounter.

Maddy avoids such moments until she falls for Oliver. As she glimpses scenes from her future she is forced to explore her present and the choices she has to make.

What a lovely bunch of characters in this book, I grew to love them all, Oliver, Henry and Mrs Aziz, each with their own story which intertwined with Maddy’s to enrich the storytelling

The ending of the book will appeal to those who prefer the story to be open ended but I personally would have preferred to have had an epilogue., which would have added to my enjoyment.

Overall this was a unique book, which I found easy to read and made me ponder how the years speed by and how one decision or event can alter our life path. Maddy and Oliver will stay in my thoughts for a while !

I LOVED this book. LOVED. This book is a mix of everything good in a gothic suspense novel. Appalachia. Magical realism. Family secrets. Love tested. Sisters separated. and OMG, the plunge into nature. Come ON. When is her next book coming out???

A heartwarming cosy read. Maddy is a teenager when she has her first sexual encounter and a shocking surprise. The only person she tells is her best friend Priya. How her life fast forwards 10 years and she sees what will happen if she is with this person then. She resolves not to sleep with anyone again and apart from a few one night stands, all of which have the same result, she steers clear of a relationship.

Briefly, after school Maddy and Priya share a flat but when Priya meets Nic and they want to move in together Maddy moves out. Her new landlord is Oliver and they share a flat and it soon becomes clear that there is a romantic spark and Maddy decides to follow her heart. The future she sees with Oliver is largely a happy one until she finds out something that really upsets her and to right it she needs to make a decision that goes against all her desires.

I really loved the relationship between Priya and Maddy, such good supportive friends, and as a side character Mrs Aziz was the best. I like Oliver although at times he seemed a little too good to be true, but he wasn’t perfect. The whole premise obviously needs to be taken a bit tongue in cheek and I did wonder about the actual 10 years hence and if everything turned out as she saw it. I’m not really a romance reader but this isn’t really a romance. It’s a family drama with romantic and fantasy element and just a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable read.

Maddy was a normal child, but when she turned into an adult and started having sex, during the act she has a flash forward and sees into her future, 10 years into her future. So when she is not with the person she is with she knows they are not the one. She also sees friends and family’s future. If you knew something about the future and knew it would affect others would you tell them?

She sees a child in her future, she sees how her half-brother recovers from an accident. Will she get her right future, can she change it?

Laura has done it again, another great book, different premise to her other books but loved it.

Maddy had an interesting…gift. She is able to see 10 years into the future at specific times in her present life- and with these snippets of knowledge about the future, she must navigate how to live in the now.
This was a heartwarming, sweet story and left me wanting more! It was fun to read the dual timelines and piece together what was happening in the present that was leading to the future scenes. Pearson’s characters are lovable and well-developed. Overall, a great novel!

Where do I even start with this book? It was so unique, every time Maddy has sex she transports herself ten years into the future. Maddie has decided rare, one-time sexual encounters are all she can handle…until she meets Oliver.

My gosh the romance and all the feels of this one got to me and I am not a romantic person at heart. Maddy isn’t in the future very long, just enough for a quick peek. She can't really control it or anything that happens while she is there. All she can really do is get information. I loved the two main leads so much, both as a couple and as individuals. Maddie's friend Priya was an amazing girlfriend to her and had her back at all times but she wasn't afraid to tell her what's what. I liked how Maddy’s visions of the future concerned her and her partner and her friends and family.

This was a very well-thought-out plot that was executed perfectly. I have read every book by Laura Pearson and she is always a consistent four or five-star read, she always packs an emotional punch but her books aren't soppy, they’re true to life with well-wounded characters. I highly recommend all of her works.

I have really enjoyed previous books by this author, so was looking forward to this one!

In a similar vein to previous novels, this had a unique concept that makes you think about what you would do in the same situation. With great characters and some good twist and turns, this was a great read!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4
This was an enjoyable book with a very extraordinary plot. If you can accept Maddy's supernatural talent the story is really entertaining and unique. The main character Maddy is (mostly) relatable and her boyfriend Oliver is almost too good to be true. I started to read the book and was wondering where the plot was going and I found the first two thirds of the book very diverting. After that the story sort of faded toward the end which felt a bit unsatisfying for me. All in an entertaining book.

What a unique idea for a story. Maddy Hart can see snippets of her future in 10 years time, it stops her forming relationships as it happens in the bedroom! Only her best friend Priya knows it happens. A acting job that turns out to be a Santa grotto is where she meets Oliver, she then views a flat and again it’s Oliver. They start a relationship and Maddy see’s their life’s in the future and has to make a monumental decision if she wants the life she has seen.
