I feel like when you read any book by Harlan Coben you will not be disappointed. This is a sequel with main character Sam Keirce in it and wow! As expected by this author this book has twists and turns and is a page turner! Sam sees his ex girlfriend at the back of a room as he is teaching and runs after her. He thought he murdered her or did he??? Believe me when I say that's just the first couple pages this book takes you on a roller coaster of mystery and suspense! Absolutely loved this book and yes plan on staying up all night. Such a great author and accolades to another excellent book!

Nobody’s Fool by Harlan Coben is a whirlwind of suspense and mystery that kept me hooked from start to finish. The twists in this story are relentless, and Sami Kierce’s journey to uncover the truth about his past had me on the edge of my seat. The moment he spots Anna—his long-lost girlfriend—alive after all these years is just the beginning of a mind-bending unraveling of secrets. I loved how Coben masterfully weaves together past and present, keeping me guessing at every turn. If you’re a fan of fast-paced thrillers with jaw-dropping twists, this one’s a must-read!

Don't start reading this book late at night. Just ... don't. Trust me. You will go waaaay past your bedtime.
I received an advance e-book copy from Netgalley and the publisher, for which I am thankful.
I have read other books by Harlan Coben, but somehow have missed several books in recent years. I didn't realize that the protagonist of this book has another story in an earlier book. I will have to look for that....
Other reviewers have offered synopses of the plot, and I won't repeat their efforts here. Nor will I hint at any spoilers. I will just say that just when you think you've figured something out, a twist sends you in an entirely different direction. This happens multiple times throughout the story, and I have to admit I had not guessed that even one of the twists was on its way to me.
I will definitely be delving back into this author's books and reading the ones I missed. I might even reread some earlier ones that I read several years ago. They're that good.

Really loved the last book I read by Harlan and this one didn’t disappoint. The master of twists and the master of character development. I didn’t see the twists coming. I would recommend.

Thanks for the ARC Grand Central Publishing & NetGalley!! It took me a minute to get used to the extreme character POV style of storytelling, not that there's anything wrong with it. A bunch of my favorite Stephen King books do this as well, but I think I just didn't quite connect with the character right away, and you get thrown into this one pretty quick, and off the deep end. But, I came around to it, and got sucked in. Before I knew it the book was over, and I had thoroughly enjoyed it, so five stars from me. Easy to see this one becoming another Netflix hit for him.

When I discovered that the character Sami appears in Harlan Coben's previous novel, Fool Me Once, I felt compelled to revisit my original review. To my surprise, Sami was not a character I particularly liked, and Fool Me Once did not rank among my favorite reads by Coben. With that in mind, I approached Nobody's Fool with somewhat lowered expectations.
However, I found this novel to be a fun and completely different experience. Perhaps it was the vibrant ensemble of characters surrounding Sami, particularly his students, who truly captured my heart. I would love to see them featured in their own ensemble novel—they brought a wonderful dynamic to the story!
The concept of Nobody's Fool was intriguing, and I must say it was executed brilliantly. This time, I found myself warming up to Sami; he felt more relatable and endearing throughout the narrative. I was genuinely rooting for him as he navigated a thrilling mystery and fought for the truth and at times, his survival—quite a shift from my feelings in Fool Me Once. Importantly, you absolutely don’t need to read the first book to enjoy this one; I highly recommend diving right in.
Overall, Nobody's Fool offers a fantastic blend of suspense, compelling characters, and an engaging storyline. I appreciated how the plot unfolded; it kept me on my toes and ensured that the twists and turns were anything but predictable. It was a captivating ride from start to finish!

I have long been a fan of Harlan Coben’s work and this latest book is very good. The protagonist, Sami Kierce, is a former detective looking for a missing woman he had a brief relationship with twenty two years prior. He enlists the help of some of his night school students to help solve the mystery. The author kept me guessing until the very end which is not typical for me. It’s a very enjoyable read.

I have always been a fan of Harlan Cobens and his new book, Nobody's Fool was another great read.
Very interesting story and would love to see this one on Netflix like some of his other's. You can count on Harlan Coben to deliver an engaging read full of twists and turns. The pace keeps me wanting to stay connected and begging to find out what takes place in the end.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for this ARC.

Nobody’s Fool by Harlan Coben takes you on a thrilling ride of mystery and suspense. Sami Kierce, a young college grad, wakes up one morning in Spain to find himself covered in blood, holding a knife beside the body of his girlfriend, Anna. With no memory of what happened, he flees the scene, and the event haunts him for years. Fast forward twenty-two years, and Kierce, now a private investigator and new father, sees a familiar face in a night class—Anna, alive and well. Determined to uncover the truth behind that fateful day, Kierce embarks on a journey to solve the mystery that has tormented him. Coben masterfully blends suspense with deep character exploration, keeping you hooked until the final page.

I read this book because I know this is an author our patrons love and wanted to read it ahead of time so I can recommend it when it comes out. I have read a couple other books by this author and really enjoyed them. This one just didn’t draw me in like some of his other ones did. I found the story to drag at times and felt like at times too many sub stories were going on which took me out of the main mystery. Granted all the sub stories were important and, in the end, tied up the story, but trying to keep them all in mind while going throughout the story got to be exhausting.
Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

I love Harlan Coben's books and am so grateful to #netgalley for this #arc.
This book is about former Detective Sami Kierce who has to relive his previous back packing days in Spain when he experienced a tragic event in which he met a young lady in a club and spent a week with her. He wakes up to a tragedy in which she appears to be dead and runs back to his former life in America.
As the years pass, he gets married and has a young child. While he teaches a crime class at night, he experiences a blast from the past in which the girl he met up with appears in his classroom. This leads him down a rabbit hole in finding out what happened that night and why she suddenly reappeared. At the same time, he has to deal with a prisoner that killed his former fiancée getting paroled and why he is trying to meet with him to prove his innocence. Harlan's books have the ability to weave multiple story lines together without getting confusing, which is part of what I love about his writing,

I have really enjoyed reading many of Harlan Coben’s books so was looking forward to reading his latest. I thought this story had a very uneven pacing. It started off very slowly, picked up around 30% in, and then really rushed to conclude. I’m not sure I really cared for many of the very numerous characters. This was an”okay” read, but not one of my favorites.

Sami Kierce, once a police detective, now works for a law firm after being forced to leave the profession he loved. He also teaches a criminology course that attracts true crime fans. Back in 2000, while in Spain, Sami fell for Anna. One morning, he woke up to find a knife in his hand and Anna covered in blood. He called the police and quickly returned to the U.S. never learning what happened. All these years later, while teaching his class, he is convinced that he sees Anna in the audience. When their eyes meet, she flees, and Sami is determined to track her down. As he seeks to uncover the truth about this woman from his past, the man convicted of killing his fiancée has been released from prison because of errors made by Sami.
We were introduced to Sami Kierce in Harlan Coben's novel Fool Me Once, which was made into a Netflix series. In Nobody's Fool, Coben has brought back this smart, appealing character who is helped by a team of his best and brightest students. The book is fast-paced and filled with tension, providing some great twists. It's clever, often witty, and thrilling to read. For those from the New York metro area, the locations Coben mentions should bring a smile.

One of the best Harlan Coben books I've read! When I started reading Nobody's Fool, I wasn't sure it was going to be my type of book. All of a sudden, the story took on a life of it's own and I was hanging on to Kierce's coattails along for the ride.
I'm leery of giving away too much of the plot to avoid future readers discovering the truth. I'll conclude my review by stating that the book's twists and turns hold up until the final page.

Another sensational novel and it will definitely be a favourite for me this year.
A year after the devastating events in his previous investigation, former Detective Sami Kierce is back. This time, a ghost from the past has appeared, from his college days. While backpacking with friends in Spain, young college graduation, Sami, meets a girl and they spend five days together. But then one morning he wakes covered in blood. A knife in his hand. His girlfriend Anna is dead. Twenty-two years later, Kierce is now a private investigator, married and a new father. He teaches sleuths at night and during one of those night courses, he sees her, Anna. But it can't be, because Anna died all those years ago. And the mystery begins.
As with all of the author's novels, this one was fast moving, compelling and so twisted! The mystery of Anna completely fooled me and there were some great reveals that kept me flying through the pages. I love the way the author connected the past and present events and fit the numerous pieces of the puzzles together.

Nobody’s Fool by Harlan Coben follows detective Sami Kierce as he is dropped into another mystery—this time with a very personal component for him. This book has such a strong voice, which effectively gets you into the mind of the protagonist. This is never distracting, but helps to create momentum as he’s trying to solve a mystery that is important to him.
There are many twists and turns throughout, making the story thrilling to read. The plot never becomes convoluted, ensuring that the story remains easy to follow. In Nobody’s Fool, we also meet many of Kierce’s colorful associates, who bring a lot of fun to this book.
If you’re looking for a fast-paced mystery filled with flawed characters and complex motivations, consider checking out Nobody’s Fool.

I am a big fan of Harlan Coben. This book does not disappoint his fans despite being a little slow at the beginning. This is a stand alone novel but is about former detective Sami Kierce from a previous book. This book introduces Sami as a college student backpacking with friends through Spain. He meets a girl abandoning his friends for her. He wakes up one morning in her bed covered in blood with a knife in his hand. There is no body though. As per his father's instructions he rushes home to the US and go on with his life.
Fast forward 22 years later and he sees the woman who he supposedly killed in his classroom. She quickly disappears again His quest to find her again. is very exciting and clever.
A must read for fans of Harlan Coben.

OMG!!! My head is about to explode after reading “Nobody’s Fool.” There were so many twist and turns. The LIES and manipulation.
Sami is teaching his Criminology night class when a face he remembers over 20 years ago stares back at him. The face of Anna who he spent time with in Spain. Sami wakes up one morning to Anna dead lying beside him with a knife wound to the chest. He doesn’t remember a thing because of the alcohol and drug consumption from the night before.
If Anna was dead then how can she be sitting with his other students and staring back at him. When she catches Sami looking back at her it’s at that moment she bolts from the class and out the building.
You really have to read this one for yourself. I was no where near piecing this story together. In my opinion, it’s what makes Harlan Coben one of the great story tellers.

Harlan Coben does it again. First, I have to say I’m a long time reader of Harlan’s so my expectations are always high when I read one of his new books, and this one did not disappoint. This book is #2 in the series but can be read as a standalone. Sami is teaching classes now after stepping down from his police role when he sees a familiar face from his past, only it can’t be true because last he saw her, she was dead.
This story takes you on a heart pounding, page turning ride, like all of Coben’s books. I read it in less than 24 hours. His characters are always well developed and his stories always have a great plot line with those mind blowing twists throughout. This was easily a 5 star read for me!
