I am a big Harlan Coben fan and enjoy his work immensely. After reading this newest, NOBODY’S FOOL, I tried to tease out what I love about his books and why this one fell flat for me. Honestly, his other series have characters, and specifically protagonists, that I enjoy meeting and revisiting when sequels arrive. In this book, I just didn’t like the protagonist, Sami. He grated on me throughout the book. Since the plot is based on resolving some of his issues, it just couldn’t hold my interest. That being said, Coben is a great writer and even in a ‘lesser’ book, his tales are filled with intrigue. I received my copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Like everything he writes this was another winner . Coben had a way of crafting a thriller that keeps you engaged throughout . He is a master at plot and pacing.

Once again Harlan Coben has another hit. His books never disappoint and i was hooked from the first few pages.

My review reflects my honest opinion. In this book, we again encounter Sami Kierce, a character from Coben's previous book, Fool Me Once. After losing his job with the New York police department Sami is working as an investigator for a law firm and teaching a class at the "prestigious "Academy Night Adult School entitled No Shit Sherlock. He is relatively happy, married to Molly, a woman he dearly loves and mesmerized by their son Henry. Following his college graduation Sami went to Spain with a group of fellows, and met a girl he thought was a dream come true. Sami separated from the guys and spent 5 glorious days with beautiful Anna. The love and vacation do not end well when Sami wakes up to find the lovely Anna covered in blood and a knife in his hand; his money and valuables gone. Terrified he calls his Dad who tells him get out of there immediately. Sami does stop at the local police department to report what happened; the young detective has a very lackadaisical attitude about the report. He and Sami go to Anna's apartment, but lo and behold her body is gone. Told to go home, the detective will contact him if he needs him, Sami did and tried his best to live a normal life yet that image of Anna and all the questions surrounding it never leave him. And all of this just is just the background to what happens one night while Sami is teaching a class and a woman comes in, looks at Sami and quickly departs. Sami is sure this woman is Anna. Hold onto your seats from there as the rest of the book is a non-stop thrill ride filled with intrique, excitement, surprises, great characters and an ending that will, as the saying goes, "knock your socks off." Coben rarely disappoints and Nobody's Fool is a grand slammer. 4.5 stars.

I've been reading Harlan Coben books for years and I really enjoy his writing style. And this book is one of his best. I did not see the ending coming. Maybe bit and pieces, but not the big reveal. I like when an author can do that. I also like the way he slips tiny Easter eggs referring to his other books into the story (Lock-Horne & Abeon).

This was a very typical Harlan Coben book. Mystery, easy read. Too wordy and descriptive, I find myself scanning certain paragraphs that do not add to the story.

I always appreciate that he has stories that are fast reads and easy to pick up where you left off. I think he did a good job of keeping the reader engaged but I found that there were too many characters and I couldn't keep them straight at times.

I really enjoyed Harlan Coben’s Nobody’s Fool! This was one of my first reads by him, though I’m somewhat familiar with his work through his Netflix shows. At first, I found it a little hard to get into because his writing style is different from what I’m used to. However, that difference turned out to be a good thing—it was refreshing and kept me engaged. I loved the suspense throughout the book and couldn’t wait to see how the investigation would unfold. And that cliffhanger at the end! I’m really hoping there’s more to come!

Harlan Cobden is a master thriller author who will keep you on the edge of your seat and up way past bed time. This story is a serious page turner and so twisty you won’t want to put it down. It’s such a good follow up to his other hit book “Fool Me Once”. I really enjoyed Sami Kierces’ story and the band of students he has helping on the case. The characters feel so personal and will have you smiling and laughing but you feel like you’re there with them. This is easily a five star book and definitely one you should put at the top of your list.

Everytime I pick up a Harlan Coben, I fall in love with his writing and his characters all over again! Nobody’s Fool is so fun and fast paced, following our private investigator main character Sami as he uncovers a major cold case mystery that twists and turns and deeply involves him. I can’t say enough about Harlan Coben’s writing, it’s tongue in cheek and funny and just speaks to me.

I’ve been a fan of Harlan Coben from the various Netflix series over the last few years. This was the first time I’ve read one of his novels and I enjoyed it. Some of the conversations between the characters felt a little forced but overall it was a fast paced thriller. Once it picked it up it was difficult to put down.

I couldn't put this one down. It was a quick read and it kept me entertained throughout. I liked the unraveling of the mystery as well as the ending!

As someone who primarily reads Christian books but enjoys the occasional thriller, I decided to give Nobody’s Fool by Harlan Coben a try, even though I hadn’t read the other books in the series. While I felt a little behind on some character connections, Coben’s talent for gripping storytelling and intricate plotting kept me hooked.

The protagonist is compelling, with relatable flaws and strengths, and the twists are perfectly timed to keep you guessing. Though there’s some content that might differ from what you’d find in Christian literature, it wasn’t overly graphic and fit the tone of a suspenseful thriller.

Overall, Nobody’s Fool is a well-paced, entertaining read with rich characters and plenty of intrigue. If you enjoy thrillers and don’t mind jumping into the middle of a series, this book is a solid choice.

While this wasn't my favorite Harlan Coben book, it was still suspenseful and enjoyable. Sami Pierse is an interesting protagonist and I appreciated another installment featuring him and his likeable allies such as Marty and Craig. His group of students were also a nice addition. I look forward to future books in this series.

Unfortunately, not on par with his other novels. Although it all ties together in the end, it has a confusing beginning and is difficult to read. Still, fans of Harlan Coben will pick it up.

Another Harlen Coben success! He kept me guessing until the final thread was untangled at the very end. Leave it to Harlen to throw an extra twist in at the end.

Sami Kierce is teaching his class when his attention is drawn to a woman who entered the back of his class. He immediately stops class and chases after her as she flees. She had played a pivotal role in the projection of his life. Could it really be her? And so the mystery begins. Good pacing and interesting mystery to be solved. I enjoyed this book. It held my attention so I just kept reading.

This book, I read as an ARC. There were some editing errors that I highlighted throughout. I loved the little connections to other books of his, even though they aren't in this same series. I loved it. Another good job by Harlan Coben.

Nobody's Fool by Harlan Coben is a wild ride! Sami was supposed to go to medical school to become a doctor, his lifelong dream. But an encounter with a beautiful woman while on vacation in Europe after high school derailed his plans and his life. He finds himself, a broke ex-cop, thrown off the force for poor conduct. To make ends meet, he teaches a criminology course to an eclectic mix of students who help him solve cases as a poorly paid investigator. When one day, the case of a lifetime lands in his lap. The tale will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat until the very end. I love it!!!

Harlan Coben's greatest writing strenght, for me, is his ability to keep things moving while painting in the necessary details. This plot line is somewhat original. Spanning over 20 years we meet a handful of characters who change before our eyes into someone else. It's definitely a page turner because you always want to see what happens next and how the set up is resolved. I loved this book, but then I love all of the books by this author.
