The Viennese Waltz is the latest installment in Eric Flint’s time-travel series. While it’s possible to enjoy this book as a standalone, it’s not the best entry point for new readers. Longtime fans of the series, however, are likely to appreciate it more fully.

That said, prospective readers should know that this book leans heavily into financial matters. The authors do a commendable job of making these topics engaging, but if you’re here for action-packed fight scenes, you might want to explore other books in the series.

As for the central question—can the Barbies save the Austrian Empire? You’ll have to read to find out! Fans of the series and those with a taste for intrigue and economic strategy will find much to enjoy here.
