Interests have changed - no longer going to review this book as its bo my cup of tea any longer - sorry

What a fantastic investigation of the history of fairy tales! I really loved this, especially how concise it was. Too often, nonfiction is over-explained.

If you're at all into fairy tales then you will have heard of Marina Warner. Along with Jack Zipes, she's probably one of the most influential writers in this area of the last couple of decades.
This may be a short book but it's full of great information, especially for those newcomers to the academic side of fairy tales, and for those who know Marina's work well? Worth it for the extremely comprehensive further reading list. This will stay firmly on my shelves and will be referred to often.
