This author is great and has released yet another crown Jewell *hahah see what I did there?*
Lisa Jewell does a great job story building and then shocking you to your core.

A slow burn mystery which is a part psychological thriller
where after persisting few initial chapters things
get interesting and will be hard to put down.
The main issue is easily figured but what sets this book apart
is how lisa has written about it
along with a fitting conclusion.
For me reading the mind from Nick's PoV was a highlight
to see how his mind works!
Different from other thrillers but worth a read!!

I had to DNF this at around 30% - it was way too predictable and repetitive. I read some of the review on Goodreads and it definitely doesn't sound like I'm on my own for this. I've read a fair few Lisa Jewells, some have been knock-out 5 stars and some are either a solid 1 or DNF so I'm always suuuuper apprehensive when a new one comes out.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this, even though I wasn't able to finish it!

I couldn’t put this book down and read it as fast I could! The book follows Ash, the daughter of a famous restaurant owner (Paddy) who recently passed away. Her mother (Nina) connects with her deceased husband’s friend (Nick) and they kindle a romance that just doesn’t sit right with Ash. As a result, Ash starts looking into Nick. Meanwhile, we are also introduced to Martha, a florist, who’s husband Al seems to inconveniently disappear often and for days at a time with no contact. Martha becomes suspicious of Al’s behavior but he always has legitimate excuses. Martha feels the need to look further into Al’s absences. We also hear Nick and Al’s POV and get introduced to other characters throughout the book. The story gets wilder and wilder as the pages turn and the ending was insane but so good. The pacing of the story was well done and I felt for *some* of the characters. Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the eARC!

I was invested in this story and it was a quick read but it felt a little predictable and I hated the male main character. I was frustrated with Martha but was happy that Ash seemed to be figuring things out. The ending was good and overall it was a good thriller, just not my favorite of Jewell’s. 3.5 rounded up.
Thank you to @atriabooks for an advanced copy. Opinions are my own.

While I enjoyed the premise of the book, I felt there were too many “players” and it was hard to keep track of everyone since the timeline and narrator kept changing. Not her best in my opinion and the main twist was revealed quickly. It felt a bit long.

WOW... What a story. What a book. This one was so full of manipulating and lies and just plain bad that I didn't want to put it down. It was a quick read for me too.
You meet a lot of women in this story. And a lot of men. Could the women all be the same woman? Or could it be that the men are all the same man. So many liars are involved. So much drama. The cheating and stealing. The setting people up. This is like a nightmare you see in a movie.
I detested Nick/Al/all the rest. I detested most of the women too. But they were victims, these women. The younger ones who were just walking down the streets. They were the real victims. The innocent ones. Yes the older women were victims but they should have seen something when he was gone so much. Or just up and left for a week or two.
I enjoyed reading this book even though I really didn't like most all of the characters. I didn't however find any of the victims as weak. They were doing their best. The fell for a con. Some more so than others. And at least one lost way more than all the others combined. And then there were the children who were born to this deceiver. Will anyone of them grow up to be just like their parent? I hope not. I really hope not.
I loved how this one ended. It was justice. I was actually thinking it would end a different way but was so glad I was wrong. Yes I did enjoy reading this. It is something that happens more than we probably know. Scamming people out of everything. Leaving them to deal with tons of debt.
Thank you to the publisher for this ARC.
I gave this one 4.5 stars.

Lisa Jewel's books are always page turners and this one was just as good. It had a slightly slow start and it took me restarting the book a few times (after putting it down) but once I was into the story, I was all in!

I enjoyed this thriller despite the fact that the switching narrators and timelines had me a bit confused at the onset. Once I figured that out and found the rhythm of the narrative, it kept me turning pages. I enjoyed the character of Ash and her willingness to follow her instincts in spite of many reasons not to do so. Some of the other characters did seem a bit daft, but on the other hand, this felt somewhat pulled from the headlines. This stuff happens even though it seems preposterous from the outside. Overall, a solid read. Thank you NetGalley and publishers for providing a digital ARC for review.

It's been a while since I've read a Lisa Jewell book, and this one did not disappoint for me to jump back into her books. I absolutely loved the strong women that went up against this horrible misogynistic scam artist. There is unfortunately people just like him in the real world and I loved seeing the side of the women he wronged taking back control.

⭐ General Impression
Don’t Let Him In is a gripping addition to Lisa Jewell’s repertoire and arguably one of her most suspenseful works to date. Published on June 24, 2025 in the U.S. (and shortly after in the UK), it debuted strongly on hold lists and garnered anticipation across major outlets—including People, USA Today, and CrimeReads .
🔍 Plot & Structure
The novel centers around Nina Swann, recently widowed, who receives a disturbing condolence package from her late husband’s friend Nick Radcliffe. While Nina is initially drawn to Nick’s charm, her daughter Ash grows suspicious. Meanwhile, Martha, a florist with marital issues, starts to suspect her husband Al is hiding secrets. Eventually, the paths of Nina, Ash, and Martha cross, revealing a series of dark truths and manipulations .
Jewell expertly navigates multiple viewpoints—delivering a kaleidoscopic narrative that keeps you deeply engaged without losing momentum.

After really enjoying None of This is True by Jewell, I was very excited for this story. Unfortunately it did not hit the same way. I found the story to be very "tell instead of show". I will definitely still try other novels by her in the future because I did enjoy the other one.

Don’t Let Him In is a compelling psychological suspense novel that kept me turning the pages. It’s a quick, easy read that’s hard to put down. It did take me a little while to get into the book. There’s a large cast of characters introduced fairly quickly, and the shifting points of view can feel a bit disorienting at first. But once I found my footing, I was hooked.
The narrative centers on the Swann family and a mysterious man named Nick Radcliffe, who appears suddenly following the unexpected death of Paddy Swann. Nick claims to be an old friend from before Paddy met his wife, Nina, but his story doesn’t sit right with Paddy’s daughter, Ash. As the book unfolds, Ash begins to piece together a truth far more complicated than anyone expects.
Told from multiple perspectives, the novel weaves together different threads, building tension as the Ash try to uncover who Nick Radcliffe really, and what he wants.
While I found some of the twists predictable and wouldn’t categorize this as a full-fledged thriller, it still held my attention throughout. I enjoyed watching the plot come together and appreciated the sense of resolution by the end. Overall, it’s a solid, entertaining read perfect for a weekend binge.

Another solid psychological thriller. Possibly not as many twists as I like, but the porpulsive plot kept me engaged until the end.

This was a fantastic book. I always love Lisa Jewell books and this was no exception. A great story either do many twists and turns!

Lisa Jewell did it again! She is perfect at weaving tension, mystery, and emotional complexity into a story that keeps you guessing. The plot centers around a woman whose quiet life is upended when someone from her past returns and nothing is as it seems. It was a super fast-paced read, and emotionally layered, This one is perfect for fans of domestic suspense and unreliable narrators. You’ll question every character… and maybe even yourself.

The Tinder Swindler written into a book! I am a huge Lisa Jewell fan but unfortunately her newest is probably my least favorite of all her books. I really liked the premise, but the story started to feel a little repetitive as this man cons tons of different women out of LOTS of money. I also was getting a little annoyed that all these women were so dumb? I refuse to believe women would just hand over their money to a man with this many red flags. Even with these issues, I still flew through the book because I wanted to know how it ended. Even though this wasn't my favorite, I look forward to whatever Jewell puts out next.

Nina Swann is intrigued when she received a condolence card from Nick Radcliffe, an old friend of her late husband, who is looking to connect after her husband’s unexpected death. Nick is a man of substance and good taste. He has a smile that could melt the coldest heart and a knack for putting others at ease. But to Nina’s adult daughter, Ash, Nick seems too slick, too polished, too good to be true. Without telling her mother, Ash begins digging into Nick’s past. What she finds is more than unsettling…
Martha is a florist living in a neighboring town with her infant daughter and her devoted husband, Alistair. But lately, Alistair has been traveling more and more frequently for work, disappearing for days at a time. When Martha questions him about his frequent absences, he always has a legitimate explanation, but Martha can’t share the feeling that something isn’t right.
Nina, Martha, and Ash are all heading toward an unveiling of the truth, but only time will tell with how deep this deception runs. I really enjoyed this quick read, and even though I sensed the direction that the ending was headed, I still got caught up in the story and looked forward to seeing how it would all wrap up.
My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

This was impossible to put down! There were a lot of female characters to track and timelines to follow but it didn't seem that difficult to manage. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for the advance review copy!

Thanks to NetGalley & Atria Books for the chance to read this book.
I don't know why i wanted to read this book, Not sure why But honestly Lisa and I have never really gotten along, I only went into this because It said this book was a "thriller" .... WHERE?!!?!!?! How did this even get categorized in this genre!? Sorry but nothing about this book was thrilling at all!?
With that said .. I didn't hate the book, there were a million xs I talked myself out of DNFing this book, telling myself it had to be going somewhere in the end, that it was just a slow burn and the ending was gonna be great, surely it all had to be leading somewhere right?! Not really, it was all very anticlimactic imo. It got really repetitive, and i get there's not really anything special with these men that do this to talk about, but it's just wild to me this was categorized in the thriller genre. I read it all i eventually got through it, but at the end I was more like why didn't I just give and DNF!?
Entirely my fault, I should have looked more into it knowing I never felt great with this author's books, But just not the book for me. "Slow Burn" just doesn't cover how slowly i read this book.. More like watching cement dry.. just glad it's over. (I read books to escape reality not read about the POS men that live around us in everyday life. This was ESP annoying after just getting out of relationship with one of these)
Just gonna give it 3 stars for the effort that was put into it (Sorry Lisa I'm not sure why I don't enjoy your books, I swear it's not intentional at all)
