Very creepy because it is possible. Some of it dragged in parts but overall, a good story. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book

Lisa Jewell does NOT disappoint! Took me a bit to get into the plot as there were lots of characters and the timeline moved around but once I was in I was ALL in. Unfortunately this was a work of psychological thriller that had an all to real potential to it. It was fast paced and hard to put down. Very timely with #MeToo and some recent events in the world. Some plot points I figured out and were a bit predictable but the ending did NOT disappoint. If you are a fan of Lisa Jewell or new to her work and like a good dark and twisty thriller - choose this one! An excellent summer read. Looking forward to Lisa Jewell's next offering already. Big thanks to Atria , Lisa Jewell and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a review.

Lisa Jewel is a master at the thrillers. This is no different. With a new spin for, she conquers the world of con artists and also is able to pull you right in. It did take me just a minute to get all the characters straight at the beginning but otherwise, very easy read!

As expected, I loved this one! The premise, the execution, the characters - all of it was great. I thought the way the book was setup was really clever - we got to know a lot of characters but it was all very easy to keep track of and VERY addicting. This book was certainly fast paced and I felt like I was racing against myself to the end, just because I wanted to know how it would all play out. There were times in the middle of the book where I was so sick of [insert whatever name you want here]'s weird crying apologies and it felt a little repetitive, but I also recognize it was necessary to show how truly manipulative he was. I so badly wanted to smack Martha and wake her up, but alas, you cannot smack a fictional book character. I get annoyed with thrillers when the plot hinges on a female character being extremely dumb, and while that was somewhat the case here, there were enough smart women (Ash<3) to offset it.

Lisa Jewell is the queen of unpredictable endings and predict this ending I DID NOT. I LOVED IT. The entire book was good but even if it wasn't, this would have made it all worth it. I have so many questions?! But I'm also fine with them going unanswered because it's part of the fun. Bravo!

4.5 stars rounded up for this one, only knocking off a half star for my eye rolls in the middle of the book.

No matter what Lisa Jewell writes, I will read it! Lisa Jewell’s upcoming novel, DON’T LET HIM IN, offers a refreshing twist on her signature domestic thrillers by delving into the world of con artists. This book is like Dirty John on steroids!

The story is rich with deceit, secrets, and a particularly manipulative male lead whose shocking behavior keeps readers on edge. While it takes a little bit of time to fully grasp the various characters and intertwining plots, the payoff is a gripping narrative that showcases Jewell’s talent for weaving complex storylines. Once I got into the action, I had a feeling that I knew where it was going. I read this book in two sittings, so although a bit slower to pick up, DON’T LET HIM IN is still following Jewell’s bingeable reputation.

The ending wraps up in a non-Lisa Jewell fashion, which I won’t divulge more about, but IYKYK. I kinda wanted the story to be a bit more thriller-y—DON’T LET HIM IN is more of a drama with suspense. Nevertheless, the book is a compelling read and will be a summer hit for readers. Kudos to Lisa Jewell for her uncanny ability to weave many characters into one central storyline yet again. The master of suspense is back again! STARS: 4, PUB: 6/24

Although the beginning was a bit confusing with its shifting characters and flashbacks, it all came together brilliantly as the story progressed. Once the threads started to weave into a cohesive narrative, I was completely hooked and couldn’t put it down. The character of Nick (or whatever name he was going by at the time) was chillingly evil—so convincingly written that I wanted to jump through the pages and stop him myself. The tension and pacing built steadily, making for a gripping read that stuck with me even after I finished.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the ARC!

Don’t Let Him In
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lisa Jewell really knows how to do a slow burn psychological thriller! This book started out so slow that I questioned what kind of book it was until I was halfway through!

Three women are connected by one man and have to piece together who he really is when he’s not with them.

This had a bunch of different characters and perspectives. It was a little confusing at first with all the names, but once I got in I was hooked!

Thanks to @netgalley for this ARC!

Another 5 star from Lisa Jewell! Though it's a story that you pretty much know what is going on from the start, how everything comes together seeing how the mmc has affected all of thse different lives along with the very important message of spotting manipulative tactics and sociopathic behaviors makes this an awesome and suspenseful read! Read this in 2 days and needed to know how it was going to end, which was not a disappointment. It definitely gives an older Joe Goldberg from "You" vibes. It's definitely worth the read!

This book was enjoyable. The author wove the characters in a neat way and it was full of twists and turns.

Y’all, I absolutely loved this! I know the reviews have been mixed, but I was completely hooked. WARNING: The shifting viewpoints can be a bit confusing so I’m glad I read it instead of just listening. The story made me so angry! I was rooting for Nick to get caught the entire time! He was such a horrible person, and that’s how you know the book had me fully invested. I was genuinely mad at him! If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers with devious characters, multiple shifting perspectives, and edge-of-your-seat suspense, this book is an absolute must-read.

*Don’t Let Him In* by Lisa Jewell completely hooked me — I couldn’t stop reading, and I didn’t want to. From the very first chapter, I was pulled into a dark, twisty web of secrets, lies, and psychological tension that only tightened with each page. The pacing was sharp and relentless, and every time I thought I had things figured out, the story would shift again, revealing yet another layer. Jewell is a master of suspense, and this book is a prime example of her talent at building tension that never lets up.

One of the things I especially loved was the use of shifting points of view. The multiple perspectives added so much depth to the story — each character brought a unique lens that revealed different sides of the truth. It kept me constantly questioning what was real, who could be trusted, and what was still hiding beneath the surface. The POV changes were smooth and never confusing, making the tension even more compelling.

The portrayal of the husband was particularly chilling — manipulative, cunning, and always two steps ahead. Watching his schemes unfold was both fascinating and terrifying. He felt disturbingly real, and the way the author revealed his actions in stages made him all the more compelling. The twists were clever, and nothing ever felt overdone — every revelation hit hard and added to the emotional weight of the story.

I’ve read several of Lisa Jewell’s books in the past and enjoyed all of them, but *Don’t Let Him In* is easily my favorite. It has a sharper edge, more psychological complexity, and a deeper emotional core than any of her previous works, at least for me. Out of the more than 60 books I’ve read in 2025, this one stands out as the most gripping and unforgettable. It’s the kind of story that lingers in your mind long after you’ve finished.

I give *Don’t Let Him In* a full 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy. If you love psychological thrillers packed with devious characters, shifting perspectives, and truly masterful suspense, this book is an absolute must-read.

This story made me so angry! Part of me wanted to stop reading because of how the women were portrayed, while the other part of me needed to keep reading. I had to not only to see how everything played out, but Jewell so clearly marked Nick/Alastair/etc. as bad and manipulative, that I craved their comeuppance.

Is it doing a disservice to woman to show how easily they fall for this type of slick behavior? Maybe. And yet, these men clearly studied up on the exact right thing to say and how to control and maneuver every situation. I may hate this storyline simply because it’s all too realistic. And by hate, I mean this book brought out so many emotions: rage, frustration, grief, fear. It’s truly the mark of a brilliant writer that Jewell can make her readers so invested in her work and feel so many things based on the actions of her characters.

This story had me fully gripped in its pages. I needed to see what happened when Martha and Nina realized the truth. Another riveting domestic suspense thriller from the queen!

This was such a quick read. I really like the way that this was unexpected and a thriller in the way that you don't think about. I think everyone with an older woman in their life needs to read this as a warning. Lisa Jewell approaches the subject in a wonderful way and I recommend this to anyone to read.

Talk about suspenseful… I cannot comprehend how he manipulated so many women and was able to maintain his storytelling throughout. Kept me on the edge of my seat! I really thought more people were going to die.

I love everything that I've read from Lisa Jewell and Don't Let Him In was no exception. While this one didn't have as many twists and turns as some of her other novels, I was still captivated from beginning to end and ate this up in a day.
This would be great (I think) for fans of the TV show "You".

I wish I loved this one. I typically love Lisa jewell and she is an autobuy author for me, but this one didn't work. I found the multiple plotlines to be confusing and repetitive. A lot of the plot felt repetitive.

DNF at 40%

I loved “None of This is True” and other Lisa Jewell novels but this one was a hot mess!

The main male character, Al/Nick continues to somehow worm his way into women’s lives, all of the while living a dual life. None of the plot made sense and would have been impossible for him to pull off.

My main gripe, however, was the way the women were portrayed! Nina is newly widowed with a grown daughter but seems to have absolutely no idea what is going on. What??? Her daughter, Ash, quickly is on to him but her mother doesn’t listen.

Martha is an accomplished Florist with her own thriving business. She also seems to be unable to figure out that her husband must not be who he says he is.

Why portray these women as being brainless and unable to see past all of the lies, constant cancellation of plans, etc.???

Nearly half way through the book I just couldn’t continue. I didn’t really care what happened to these characters even though I’m sure Al/Nick will be found out and hopefully punished in some way.

I received an ARC of this novel from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Lisa Jewell has been a hit and miss author for me and one of my struggles with her writing is too many characters and sometimes keeping everyone straight, especially as an audiobook, but that's a whole different point. This was an engaging story with great twists and it was a quick and easy read but I felt there were some holes in the plot and the story left me with a couple questions, which I don't mind with a thriller but something to think on for other readers. Thank you for the ARC!

There is nothing better than a great psychological thriller and I’ve read a few by Lisa Jewell and enjoyed them. I did enjoy “Don’t Let Him In” but I don’t think I would classify it a true psychological thriller, it is more of a domestic suspense novel.

The novel opens with the death of Paddy Swann, beloved chef to many, especially his daughter Ash. Soon after the funeral, a package arrives for Paddy’s wife Nina from a man named Nick Radcliffe. He’s claiming to have worked with Paddy years ago. A relationship begins between Nick and Nina and Ash is not thrilled by this. There’s something about Nick that makes her cringe and she begins to investigate him.

We also meet Martha, a mom to 2 older boys and a baby girl. She’s a business owner and seems to be drowning in life a little while not getting any help from her husband Al. He is always gone on business trips and unavailable to return messages. As a reader you are immediately skeptical and soon realize the double life of Nick and Al, and how each persona is despicable.

What I loved about this book:
The past/present chapters-it’s a style in suspense novels I really enjoy
The twists and turns
The unpredictable ending

What I found a little annoying:
Repetitive dialogue of the characters
The women in this book-I spent a lot of time wanting to yell at them to wake up.

Overall, this is a page turner that grabbed my attention from the beginning. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
