I love Lisa Jewell's novels and I was hooked on this one at 16% She tells the best, most shocking stories and I was literally questioning everything for the entire book! 😮

Nina meets Nick Radcliffe after her husband Paddy tragically dies after being pushed in front of a train. He is quite the man, living quite the life! I was getting whiplash just following this journey of truth vs lies! When the revelations come, they are shocking/dark and made my anxiety rise.

You can't help but try to connect all the dots and that was the FUN part! Question EVERYTHING! The dots could also be a massive amount of red flags! 🚩🚩🚩🚩so, connect the flags along the way.

I've been following a woman on IG for years. She is a fashion, food, fitness influencer and something similar to this plot happened to her in RL recently! It made the book hit differently for me as I kept thinking about her situation. 😮🚩

The ending lost me a bit and felt a little too tidy, but don't let that deter you because I'm sure you'll be racing to the end just like I was! If you like a fast thriller, give it a try!

Thank you, NetGalley and Atria Books for this ARC for review. First read of 2025 and wow! it was a good one!! I have read many books by Lisa Jewell and she never fails for being the twisty thriller! This new book draws in 3 women all seduced and connected by be man, Nick Radcliffe. He seems to be too good to be true, maybe because he is… Nick comes into Nina’s life right after the unexpected death of her husband and he is just what she needs. This is a fast-paced thriller that jumps between women and time periods and shows different perspectives and stories and wraps with and really great twist that I definitely didn’t see coming!! I couldn’t put this down and it was a perfect read to start off the new year!!

Whenever I pick up a Lisa Jewell book, I know I am going to be in for a crazy ride and this one did not disappoint. I think that Lisa has succeeded in writing the worst villain.. the way that you hate this man, but cannot stop reading because you need two know what happens. Without too many spoilers, the journey that this book takes you on is a wild ride. Intense, edge of your seat, with a captivating story that will have you turning pages late into the night. Sometimes when you have so many different pov's in a story it can feel overwhelming and hard to follow, but in this one I had no issues and couldn't wait to see what our characters were getting up to.

I read this book so fast and would 100% recommend it. I would also suggest going in blind to experience this story the way it is intended. If you are in the mood for a fun, edge of your seat domestic thriller with short chapters and multiple characters please please please pick this up!

Okay this was fine, but the thing is we as a reader knew everything before the main character & I don’t like that so much. I guessed one of the twists early on so it was kind of a let down. Halfway through was great but once the twist was introduced it went downhill from there!
Nonetheless, I will ALWAYS read all of her books still and she is in my top authors.

Thank you so much Lisa Jewell & Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Don’t Let Him In follows multiple points of view, Ash who’s just lost her father in a tragic train accident and whose mother is now newly dating Nick. But something about Nick is not sitting right. Then Martha who owns a flower shop with her husband Al. Al is always disappearing off to work, phone off, and has all the excuses. He appears to be the perfect man, but Ash isn’t falling for it and slowly she puts the pieces together to unravel who this man truly is.
Lisa Jewell nailed it again! She did an amazing job tying all the different story lines together to paint the true picture of how these con artists operate. It was so hard to read how some of these women kept falling for his act. But then she tied it up perfectly. The ending was exactly what we needed!

Lisa Jewell books are hit or miss for me, and unfortunately this one was a miss. I was so excited for this book and while parts of it were intriguing, overall I was bored. It felt predictable, was too long, and I kept waiting for something shocking to happen.

I did enjoy the multiple POV and alternating timelines though, that was fun. I think ultimately I was so disgusted by the main character that I could barely focus on anything else. This one just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

A man who dated/married many women and conned them out of their money before he leaves them in debt. He seems to get away with this for many years, before the daughter of one of these women realizes something isn’t right about her mom’s new fling and does some digging.

This was pretty fun!
A cool concept that I hadn’t read before!

Don’t let him in is my favorite Lisa Jewell book I’ve read so far!

This book is a 4.5 out of 5 for me! Lisa does an exceptional job with making this book into something that could also be reality. The story starts with Ash who finds out her father was recently killed and her mother who starts to move on with another man. The story then develops to deception and lies that bond people together in search of the truth.

What kept me from giving this book a 5 is the first half of it was hard for me to follow with the flashbacks and multiple point of views/story lines. The flashbacks would go on for more than one chapter but that wasn’t clearly defined in the book. It became much easier as the book went on.

If you enjoyed None of This is True you will 100% love this book and need to read it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria for giving me a digital advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

I liked this book. It did feel choppy at times, but I was entertained throughout the book. It kept my interest, but I did feel like it dragged a bit through the middle. It seemed to conclude very quickly.

I am so honored to have received an advanced copy of Lisa Jewell’s latest thriller! I’ve been a fan of what I’ve read from her previous work, and after this read, I’m even more excited to dive into more of her books. Thank you, Lisa, Atria Books, and NetGalley!

This book quickly hooked me with its multiple POVs and time jumps, which did a great job of highlighting the manipulation and gaslighting involved, keeping me suspicious of everyone—living and dead, past and present.

Lisa Jewell delivers another gripping story that’s impossible to put down. Thriller lovers, mark your calendar! You do NOT want to miss this summer release!

Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for providing this eARC in exchange for an honest review of Don’t Let Him In, which publishes June 24, 2025.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and the different perspectives and timelines that it had. I found most of the characters were fleshed out quite well, and each had a unique voice/style so it was quite easy to know whose perspective you were reading.

For me, personally, I found a lot of the characters infuriatingly dumb. I understand that this was likely a specific choice, but I could not grasp how… thick some of these women were. I also found the male main character (purposefully not mentioning a name for the sake of a review) so incredibly annoying that I don’t understand how these women fell for him.

The story itself was engaging and I was curious to where it was going to go. I was slightly disappointed that I anticipated multiple twists, without really trying to guess. The book was still enjoyable, and Lisa is skilled at writing characters that make you question their thought process, as well as making you want to turn the page to see how it all works out.

I really, really enjoyed this!! Super interesting and twisty and there was never a dull moment in this book. I literally could not put this down. This author NEVER disappoints and I’m forever a fan of anything and everything she writes! The FMC were likeable and Nick/Al/ whatever his name is… was awful all around!! Loved it !

This was by far my most anticipated read of the year. I've read every Lisa Jewell thriller and all of them met or exceeded my expectations. It was hard for me to believe Don't Let Him In was one of hers. The early chapters are mildly intriguing, but then the book dissolves into a repetitiveness that makes it feel at least two hundred pages too long. The premise quickly becomes exhausting, and no inciting incidents happen until over halfway through, followed by another painfully long lull. It was very difficult to finish.

Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite authors, and her latest novel, Don’t Let Him In, delivers much of what I’ve come to expect: suspense, twists, and compelling characters. However, I found this book a bit more challenging than her usual works.

The story unfolds across multiple timelines spanning a few years, which, while intriguing, made it difficult to keep track of the chronology. Additionally, the large cast of characters, though each well-developed, added another layer of complexity that sometimes made it hard to follow the plot.

That said, the book redeems itself with a fantastic twist at the end—one that I didn’t see coming and that stayed with me long after I finished reading. While not as seamless as some of Jewell’s other works, Don’t Let Him In is still a gripping read that fans of psychological thrillers will likely enjoy.

Omg!! What a wild ride this was! Fresh after the death of Ash's larger than life father, Paddy, her family receives a very nice letter from a man named Nick offering his condolences. He claims to have once worked with her father and Ash wants to learn more. She encourages her mother to reach out to him and a year later the two are dating. Ash's mom Nina looks happier than she's been in a long time with Nick but something about him doesn't add up.
He seems very elusive while also seeming to have an answer for everything that Ash questions him about. But who is she to say anything to her mother after Ash herself has struggled with mental health issues. Her mom wouldn't really give weight to her suspicions without hard evidence anyway. So Ash undertakes an investigation of sorts to find out more about Nick's past and if he is who he really claims to be or if he has more sinister intentions and maybe is only after Nina for her money. What transpires is a web of lies and a wake of devastation that follows Nick's victims. Ash seeks to uncover him for the fraud he is and seeks the help of others. This story is riveting and as more is revealed about Nick, I just read on with my mouth hanging open for most of it.
One of Lisa Jewell's finest novels.

Wow, that was intense! Lisa Jewell certainly knows how to engage readers with her clever prose.

"Don't Let Him" was my first experience reading Lisa Jewell, and I was excited to dive in, even though I had no idea what to expect. I highly recommend going in blind to avoid any spoilers.

OMG, it was brilliantly written! Jewell’s writing captivated me from the very first page and kept me spellbound until the end. I had a hard time putting it down. I stayed up all night reading and didn’t stop until my eyes blurred and I could no longer keep going.

Get ready to encounter one of the most despicable villains! This character's deeply ingrained misogynistic attitude made my blood boil, and I wanted to throttle him multiple times. There were moments when I wanted to scream—"Wake up, give your head a shake!" My eyes hurt from rolling so much, especially at the character's gaslighting and methodical manipulation. An evil, calculating psychopath is the best way to describe him.

I eagerly anticipated how all the characters' points of view would tie together the loose threads, and the ending did not disappoint! I won’t forget these characters anytime soon. It was brilliant how Lisa Jewell gradually revealed their backstories, making you question what was fact and fiction while leaving breadcrumbs for readers to follow. It was a gripping, well-paced psychological thriller that kept me on my toes.

You need to read this! I highly recommend grabbing a copy. Pre-order your copy today!

I want to thank Atria and NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

summary:
Lisa Jewell is a must buy for me, so I was so excited to get an advanced copy of her next book, DONT LET HIM IN. This story is intense! It follows three different women — Nina, Ash and Martha, and their unlikely connection. The book starts with restaurant owner Paddy Swann dying after being hit by a train, and while his daughter, Ash and wife, Nina are devastated, a man from Paddy’s past, Nick, connects with them and shares that he was one of Paddy’s old friends. Simultaneously, we read about Martha, a new mom living with her husband, Al, who is constantly traveling for work as a hospitality trainer. Without giving anything away, we follow their stories and realize the women are closer than they would appear.

While I sometimes struggle with books that skip between stories, this one is well written, going deep into the lives of the various female protagonists and building out their characters. We follow them through various chapters in their lives through the ups and downs, to better understand the challenges in their various relationships. The book is separated into parts, although I won’t lie, I didn’t totally understand what separated each section. The stories also cut between present day and the past, so you have to pay close attention to timing and sequencing. If you’re someone with a bad memory like me, I actually recommend jotting it down!

The stories though center around women who are lied to, cheated on and deceived, and more importantly, the work they do individually to overcome all of this. I love a strong female protagonist, and even more several of them, and the way these women stand up to the men in their lives is admirable. Most importantly, the ending is SO SATISFYING, with a bit of a twist!

This ARC was provided to me by the publisher for free in exchange for my honest feedback. I highly recommend checking this book out when it releases on June 24!

Thank you netgalley for letting me read an early copy of this book! I’ve read Lisa Jewell before and while I admire her ability to write addictive stories I do feel that this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

This story made me feel all the feels. In my heart i would hope so many woman wouldn’t fall for men like this, but i know they are out there. It was an entertaining story. I did enjoy the dual timelines, but sometimes found all the names hard to follow.

Lisa Jewell never disappoints. This book has murder, mystery and misogyny a plenty. But it also makes you question yourself and your relationships. If your partner adored you and made that clear, would (or do) you overlook their many flaws and constant disappearances?
The story begins with the death of a famous restauranteur, Paddy. We are introduced to his family, including his widow (Nina) and his daughter (Ash). Some of the story is told through Ash's point-of-view, although it changes from chapter to chapter.
The story is also told through the perspective of Martha, who is starting to have some suspicions of her husband (Alistair...what a name!), who is also in the restaurant business and constantly traveling for work...with his phone off. How blind we can be to the faults of our partners when in love.
Twists and turns aplenty, love the characters and their lives, that are messy but beautiful at the same time. One of my favorites that Lisa Jewell has come out with. Could not put it down. Highly recommend.
