Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.
Lisa Jewel is one of my favorite authors and once again she did not disappoint. This is a great psychological thriller that not only is frustrating because the women can't see the con beyond the facade this man presents but also has many twists you don't anticipate.
I couldn't put the book down until I knew the ending. Another great read.

4.7 Stars - A big thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC of 'Don't Let Him In'! If you’re a fan of 'Dirty John' or 'The Con', this is definitely a story for you.
Lisa Jewell has long been one of my favorite authors, so when I got my hands on this ARC, I rushed to finish my current read just so I could dive in. While I wouldn’t say this is Lisa’s BEST book, it certainly didn’t disappoint—easily my second favorite. As a true crime lover, I was hooked by the sheer amount of theft, deceit, manipulation, and downright psychotic behavior woven throughout the story.
The only reason I can’t give it a full 5 stars is due to a couple of small plot holes. How did this man manage to con so many women without anyone catching on??? Emma, the daughter of one of his original victims, was sharp and determined—especially after her mom went missing—so it felt a bit off that she didn’t dig deeper. Also, the unresolved moment when John entered the water really stuck with me. His two younger sons, who were far more fit, went after him, yet the book never explains what actually happened.
That said, I loved every second of this book, and it kept me thoroughly entertained from start to finish!

you can always count on Lisa Jewel to deliver and delivered is just what she did with “don’t let him in”. It started out a little slow but it didn’t take long to have me at the edge of shit, needing to finish before i can close my eyes and go to bed.

Just read an amazing thriller by Lisa Jewell.. I literally got sucked into this story so much. Let's just say a character was a true Pychopath and left devastion in lives of others. I was so engaged to see what was going to happen next. Even though I was so disgusted by a particular character.. well done..
Thanks NetGalley for the read. Recommended read!!!

This thriller reminds me of those TV specials you occasionally see about men who scam woman after woman leaving them broke and still thinking they want him. It started a bit slow, but once it picked up it was a good read.

So many names of couples! I had to take notes on a paper to keep track of all these couples: Nick and Nina, Al and Martha, Damian and Amanda, and others. Then add the children and stepchildren.
The man in each couple is focused on money, money, money ... he gets the woman to sell the house or give him her inheritance or whatever money she has.
I skipped the middle part of the book because it was repetitive.
The women eventually get together. And they "Don't Let Him In."

This book had a lot of twist and turns! It was a good book and I really enjoy the author but the time line going back and forth every chapter can make it a bit confusing and hard to keep up with. I will definitely check out future books from this author though.

Don't Let Him In is not just a cautionary tale for all women who have ever found themselves blinded by love, but also an inspiring story of how women form communities to protect each other. Telling three stories at once in two different timelines, Jewell shares the stories of Ash, a young woman struggling with the recent loss of her father and her mother's new boyfriend, and Martha, an older woman struggling with her new baby and her slightly absent, slightly secretive husband, while also letting us inside the distorted, vile inner narrative of a mysterious man. A dark twisting tale that picks up into a tail span about halfway. 4.5 stars.

Lisa Jewell's Don't Let Him In is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps you on edge from start to finish. With her signature blend of compelling characters and masterful suspense, Jewell crafts a twisted tale that explores trust, deceit, and the consequences of secrets. The writing is sharp, the pacing is taut, and the unexpected twists will leave readers gasping for breath. This is a must-read for anyone who loves dark, atmospheric stories that never let you go.

I couldn’t put this book down. A man of multiple identities wines and dines, scams and kills. And he won’t stop until he gets what he wants. He’s a narcissist psychopath serial scammer sex offender (all in the same breath). In some chapters he speaks in first person so you can get a sense of how his mind works. Otherwise the story is in 3rd person to witness his actions and of his victims. I couldn’t believe what this guy would do next. I was enthralled page by page. And right when I thought the story concluded, we were surprised with a mind blowing epilogue. Thank you NetGalley & Atria Books for this advanced copy.

Lisa Jewell’s books always draw me in with her immersive, character-driven plots and engaging writing style, and Don’t Let Him In was no exception. I found myself intrigued by the complex cast of characters, but as the multiple POVs came together the story started to feel repetitive and a bit unbelievable. The gullible women felt a bit too far-fetched for me to fully buy into—but then again, catfishing. I’ll definitely be looking forward to whatever she writes next. Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC!

Don’t let him in indeed. This is Lisa at her best. Always a great thriller, but this time Lisa made it very clear why we choose the bear. This is a breathtaking story of a beautiful man the woman’s lives he ruined. It was twisty and fast paced but also heartbreaking and devastating. I would have finished this in one sitting if there weren’t parts that were difficult to read. We have all seen women we love in one of these positions. I highly suggest preordering this one. I hope it’s a big summer book like her others and we talk about the men who scam women they “love”. Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review. Ladies please read this and stay safe out there!

This book had me hooked from the start. At first it took a minute for me to figure out who was who but once I knew what was going on, I was curious as to how this would play out. Since the chapters were so short, I just kept flipping the pages. Also Lisa Jewell sure knows how to write characters that makes a reader absolutely furious! I did enjoy the ending and thought it was pretty satisfying. I'll say this was a very compulsive read and one I think I would definitely recommend!

Ash’s dad has been murdered and a huge bouquet of flowers arrives at the family home. Curious as to who sent it, Ash eventually gets in touch with the sender Nick. A few months after her father’s death, Nina, her mother calls Nick also and the two begin dating. Nick however, is not who he appears to be and Ash finds something about him not quite right. She’s spidey senses on, she enlists the help of her dad’s first girlfriend to find out the truth. Meanwhile we follow Nick in his life as the tries to keep all the balls he is juggling in the air. Eventually all the balls end up on the floor in a very satisfying end. Although well written, I found the different timelines and protagonists difficult to follow at times.

This has serious movie potential! It was addicting, and chaotic. The story was multifaceted with the mixed points of view from the women, while also being invited into the twisted mind of Nick Radcliffe. Jewell did a good job at creating dynamic women that you really root for and develop an attachment to.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It was almost a DNF for me a couple of times. First around 25% of the way-- that whole section could have been condensed. Then again around the halfway point. Nick's character was really uncomfortable to read--maybe that's the point. He's just so repugnant and delusional. I was drawn back into the story in the last third, but found the ending quick and unsatisfying. While the story has some interesting elements, the pacing was off and I also struggled with finding certain elements believable.

This is my first time reading anything from this author and now I must read more from her! Don't Let Him In had me hooked from start to finish and I look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you NetGalley and Atria for this advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book sucked me in because I find people with multiple families fascinating, but unfortunately it didn't deliver on its promise. The more I thought about the book after I finished the more I disliked it, which is saying something because I was yelling out loud at the characters by the end.
There was no real suspense, just waiting for the characters to put the pieces together and then getting frustrated when they had information but weren't sharing it with the appropriate people. And then they kept talking about how they "had a plan" to take the con man down. And then the big plan turned out to be confronting him with no police presence next to the ocean for some reason, allowing him to "die" in the water.
The two big twists (him being behind the father's death and him writing the letters to the daughter) were not a surprise. Disappointing.

“Don’t Let Him In” is the newest suspense/thriller from Lisa Jewell. This is the story of a very bad man. He finds women who are looking for love. They don’t have to be extremely wealthy, but they do have to have some money. He love bombs them and oftentimes marries and starts families with them. All the while, he bleeds them dry and then abandons them. I found absolutely no redeemable qualities in this character. The novel spans several years and follows the lives and interactions with this scam artist. Will his newest victim fall for his games or, with the help of her daughter, figure him out and expose him?
This was a departure from Jewell’s normal thrillers. I really didn’t like the character of “Nick” and questioned how no one could see through his actions. I gave this book 3 stars - it was not suspenseful or a thriller in my opinion just the tale of a very flawed man conning women who wanted to be loved. Thank you, NetGalley and Atria Books for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This book was like waiting in line for a roller coaster you've never ridden and then it exceeding your expectations! I have not disliked a character in so long. Lisa Jewell was able to nail the antagonist. They were so unlikeable and never once did I have sympathy for them! So much happened in this book and at the beginning it was hard to keep track of all of the different perspectives. Once I got about 1/3 way into the novel, I was able to easily tell who was speaking when. The biggest let down of this book for me was since there were so many characters, it was difficult to have them all fully fleshed out. I wanted more from so many of the characters, and I was just not able to get. I realize the character depth was not important to the overall story, but I just wanted to know more! I didn't feel like this was a typical thriller in a sense, I felt like it was more drama. I liked how the end came together and there were multiple things that happened that I didn't expect. The end of the novel was my favorite part!
