Thoroughly enjoyed. Probably one of my fav reads so far this year. I have never felt so passionately that a character should get what is coming for them maybe since John Paul in Bad Sisters. This was well written and intriguing. I highly recommend.

After just reading Alice Feeney's Beautiful Ugly, I went into this book with low expectations. And thank goodness I did, because once again, just another tired mystery, with bad writing to boot.

After Paddy Swann is killed in a tragic train incident, his family is devastated. Soon after his funeral, Ash and her mother receive a keepsake from his so-called friend, Nick Ratcliffe. Ash immediately distrusts Nick, sensing he's not who he claims to be. As his lies unravel, the women in his life finally take action.

Completely predictable, I skimmed to the end and rolled my eyes MASSIVELY cause it was just such a ridiculous premise. OVER THIS GENRE until someone else can prove me wrong.

3.5-4 stars.
From about 60% to the end, I loved this book. However, I almost gave up in the 60% because of how slowly information was dragged out. Glad I didn’t give up and glad this ended in feminine rage.

4.5 ⭐️

This just may be my FAVORITE Lisa Jewell novel yet!

⚠️ Some men should come with a warning label: “DON’T LET HIM IN!”

But since they don’t-three women, connected together by one man-are going to learn this lesson the hard way…

Restauranteur Paddy Swann was beloved by all of his customers right up until the day a man pushed him in the path of an oncoming train, leaving behind his wife Nina and their two grown children, Ash and Arlo.

Shortly after Paddy’s funeral, Nina and Ash, receive a package in the mail from Nick Ratcliffe, an old friend of Paddy’s. It contains a nondescript lighter that once belonged to him decades ago, along with a thoughtful note. This unexpected gift draws Nick and Nina together when they get together to reminisce —much to Ash’s dismay.

She senses that something is off about this man who seems “too good to be true”, but her Mom won’t take her seriously, so she will have to play detective to see if her hunch is right.

The third woman is Martha-a small town florist whose second husband, Al is frequently absent from home…

The book is a little bit confusing during the initial few chapters as we get the the alternating POV’s of several characters, (indicated by a change in font) but once I had everyone straight in my mind, the story quickly became COMPULSIVE reading and hard to put down!

I was rooting for Ash to find the evidence she needed, and was throughly entertained from start to finish! What more can we ask from a book?

This was a wild, nail-biting ride of a thriller, and Lisa Jewell delivers another amazing novel. Paddy, a restaurateur, is pushed in front of a train, leaving his wife, daughter, and son. After the funeral, Paddy's wife receives a package from a man named Nick who used to be friends with Paddy. Nick and Nina start a relationship soon after. The second story line follows Martha who is struggling in her marriage with Al. Both story lines start to intertwine, and that is when the fun (not for the characters) begins. This was a fabulous domestic thriller, and it just strengthens how much I love Lisa Jewell's novels.

I normally LOVE Lisa Jewell - but Don't Let Him In will not be a favorite. It was good, but not great and at times didn't feel very Lisa Jewellish. There are a lot of characters and too much to keep up with. It felt repetitive at times and a few parts were a little too unrealistic for me. I wouldn't call it a thriller more like a domestic suspense.
I appreciate the ARC and will purchase this book for our library

Lisa Jewell's latest novel, Don't Let Him In, is a masterful exploration of deception and identity. The narrative intricately weaves together the lives of three women—Nina, Ash, and Martha—each unknowingly connected by a man who isn't what he seems.
This was a slow burn psychological thriller which kept me wondering how it was all going to unravel
The different timelines were initially confusing but loved how it all stitched together at the end

4.5 stars rounded up. This is exactly what I look for in a thriller — good twists, different viewpoints and the opportunity for the reader to guess where the story is going before the characters get there. Really enjoyed it. Would be a great beach/pool read.

Don’t let him in by Lisa Jewell.

As much as I’d like to say that I loved this book like others passed by this author I can’t say it. This book was jumpy and moved between multiple point of views, which was tough. Although this book wasn’t as twisty and suspenseful as previous books, by this author, the premise was interesting, but not as intriguing as I had hoped. It starts off with a man named Patty being pushed into the tracks and being killed and his family reeling from the loss. His daughterfeeling that foul play had occurred dives into the scenario, and a man randomly pops up, claiming to know her father.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for this Arc and my honest review.

Thank you Netgalley so much for the ARC! I was excited for this one, however it was a miss for me. It was extremely predictable and it just drug on forever with all of his cons to them all finding out. I did like the character of the daughter Ash. But that was about it. Thanks as always for the early read!

I adore Lisa Jewell - but this will not be ranked as a favorite. It was good but not great and at times didn't feel very Lisa Jewellish. There are a lot of characters and a lot to keep up with. It felt repetitive at times with a few parts feeling a little too unrealistic but I will say the ending was very satisfying. I wouldn't call it a thriller more like a domestic suspense. It was just an average read and felt meh.

I highly enjoyed Lisa's books prior, so when I got approved for this ARC, I was ecstatic! However, I found that the numerous points of views mixed in with different timelines, and having to keep track of which version of the character we were getting, made this book lackluster for me. I did find the ending very shocking though, which made pushing through the rest of the book worth it and upped my star rating

Lisa Jewell does it again! A gripping, suspenseful read that takes you through multiple POVs as we unravel the mystery of Nick along with Ash.

Lisa Jewell never fails to write a heart-pounding thriller that will keep the reader guessing until the end. Don't Let Him In draws you in from the first few pages and leads you on a wild journey all the way to the end.

Thank you @atriabooks for my gifted eARC!! I had no idea what to expect with this one, I don’t need to read a synopsis when it’s a book by Lisa Jewell! But just know, I would not say this is a thriller! I wasn’t aware, but I was fine with that once I realized! It is such a convoluted, messed up, wild ride of a story! I have no idea how Lisa Jewell comes up with these books, but I am here for it! She writes some of the most deplorable characters, that I LOVE to read about! I love that this book has gotten so many mixed reviews! Those books, to me are the best that provoke visceral feelings one way or the other! I don’t want to go into too many details on this one and ruin it for anyone because there are so many twists and reveals that are so well done! So while, I felt like it was a bit predictable, know that it did not affect my reading experience in the least! Jewell is such a talented writer, every time I read a book of hers, I’m convinced it’s her best, until I read the next one! Highly recommend for her fans!

This is a cleverly plotted portrait of a psychopath. The main character "Nick" is an icky, duplicitous con man who takes advantage of middle-class women. I also didn't find "Nick" at all charming and therefore was surprised by how many women he managed to dupe. As is her signature style, Lisa Jewell keeps the book moving with short chapters and alternating POVs (between third person in the present and first person from "Nick" in flashbacks), but the set up was entirely too long. I despised "Nick" and it was deeply, profoundly uncomfortable to read his perspective. I understand that's the point, but his level of ickiness was too much for a popcorn thriller.

I loved the gripping, breakneck pacing and twists of Jewell's prior novel None of This Is True, but this moved slowly for what it was and I could easily predict some of the twists. The ending was satisfying and Jewell ties it all together cleverly, which is her signature! Overall, I much preferred the other Lisa Jewell thrillers I've read. I was excited to be an early reader of this one. Jewell clearly wanted to take readers inside the mind of a psychopath and she was incredibly successful at that...just too successful for my tastes.

I am a big fan of Lisa Jewell and Don’t Let Him in did not disappoint. Well developed story line with likable characters (with the exception of sociopath, Nick). It’s hard to imagine how he kept all his lives and partners straight.A page turning, quick read for those who love thrillers.
