Big thank you to @netgalley for the arc of this one! Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite thriller authors. I’ve been a big fan ever since reading
“And Then She Was Gone.” This book isn’t publishing until June, so I was super excited to get this approval!

This is definitely more of a slow burn psychological thriller. I enjoyed the beginning and got hooked into the story, however ( without giving away any spoilers) I felt that the middle of the story was a bit repetitive, and the same thing kept happening with different characters, again and again. That being said though, Lisa Jewell really knows how to write an ending. The last page of this book was 🤌🏻 chef’s kiss perfect. I felt conflicted in my rating because of this 😜
It was for sure not my favorite Lisa Jewell, but still a good read.

I have now learned to read Lisa Jewell’s new mystery books. Don’t Let Him In should immediately go on your list. Although you can see a few of the twists coming, you just continually want to see how this will all end. If I did not have self control, I could have finished this in a day. The book is fast moving and you continually question the narrative you’ve created in your head. Overall a fun read!

I received a free advanced copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell This intense, fast paced psychological thriller unfolds through multiple perspectives over several years, with dual timelines. Nick is a thoroughly unlikable character, a serial conman and a master at gaslighting. The author provides realistic portrayal of his narcissism. The story comes to a satisfying conclusion.

Thank you to Lisa Jewell, Atria Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Thanks for the advance copy! I have read other books by Lisa and loved them. This one unfortunately I have to rate lower. I rated it a one star. It was not what I expected. I don’t even know if I would call it a thriller but it was very slow and predictable. I felt like it just kept going in circles and dragged on. I think the ending was supposed to be empowering but I was just disappointed I almost didn’t even finish the book.

And truly the women are just dumb. I just kept waiting for something more interesting to happen and it was just dull and boring.

I just finished reading Don't Let Him In and let me just say, the male main character was a total douchebag. Like seriously, the things he did were just plain awful. But here's the thing, despite hating him, I couldn't put this book down. It's a slow burn thriller with multiple perspectives, drama, suspense, and some shady stuff that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Another solid thriller from Lisa Jewel, I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, this book fell completely flat. I see the image but the execution was HORRIBLE. I had to dnf 25% of the way because this is genuinely one of the most annoying and confusing books I have ever read. I love Lisa Jewell ofc. But this is not her best work. This book was so confusing to the point I had to keep track of what was happening in my NOTES APP. There is absolutely no reason this book has to be tis confusing. The switch from first to third person drove me crazy. Then the timeline changes. And the POV changes ?? Too much going on all at once and it just felt so sloppy and I really did want to enjoy it but reading this book made my head hurt so bad. Maybe when it is officially released I might give it another try but for now this is just a no.

I received an ARC copy of this book thanks to NetGalley you can grab a copy this summer. My thoughts. It was a typical, edge of your seat Lisa Jewell book...so many story lines to follow, so many characters but it works. This one has me guessing and also screaming for these ladies. It does have a satisfactory ending and I was glad for that, otherwise my star rating would be much lower. Be sure to grab this one if you like mystery and suspense.

2.5 stars rounded up.
Lisa is my favorite author, but this book was not my favorite. It was well written and the pace moved quickly enough, but I hated the main male character so much, the whole book felt like a slog. Like reading about someone totally awful with zero compelling characteristics. The epilogue is why I rounded up to 3. Regardless of how I felt about this one, will 100% devour Lisa's next one. Thank you to the publishers for an advanced reader copy. Much appreciated.

I love this author, however this book was not for me. It was a very slow burn that I was hoping would turn into a major twist but unfortunately, everything was as it had seemed for the entirety of the book. I was disappointed in this one.

This book delivers a satisfying dose of suspense, though it occasionally feels a bit drawn-out and predictable in certain moments. The premise revolves around the lives of three women, whose individual stories intertwine in intriguing and, at times, unexpected ways. Jewell's talent for weaving complex characters and keeping readers guessing is evident here, and the mystery at the core of the narrative unfolds at a pace that keeps you turning pages.

The short chapters and alternating perspectives create a fast-paced rhythm, pulling readers into the lives of these characters while maintaining a steady build-up of tension. Each perspective offers unique insights and revelations, adding layers to the story and keeping you engaged as you piece together the clues. As the plot develops, the connections between the women become clearer, leading to a satisfying climax where justice for a truly despicable man feels well-earned.

While the book is undoubtedly gripping, it doesn’t quite reach the heights of Jewell's best work. Some twists felt a bit predictable, and the drawn-out nature of certain sections detracted slightly from the overall tension. That said, the story still offers plenty of surprises and compelling moments to make it a worthwhile read for fans of domestic thrillers.

Overall, this is an enjoyable and well-constructed thriller with enough intrigue to keep readers invested. Though it didn’t leave the same lasting impression as some of Jewell’s other novels, it’s a solid addition to her body of work and a good choice for anyone looking for an engaging, character-driven mystery.

Paddy Swann was a highly successful restaurateur who was married to Nina and had a young adult daughter Ash. All that was taken away when he was fatally killed by a mentally ill man that pushed him onto the tracks of an oncoming train. Nina receives a note and package from a man named Nick Radcliffe who claims to be an old friend of Paddy’s.
Martha is a small town florist who lives with her second husband Al, their baby and two boys from her prior marriage. They seem financially strapped and Al is constantly traveling for work.
The lives of these women will intersect, bringing many surprises and twists.
Unfortunately what took place in this story actually takes place in reality. This story showed the behaviors of a narcissist and what narcissistic behaviors does to those affected.
There were many POVs and there were dual timelines. I enjoyed how the pieces came together. The story was anger inducing because of all the lies and manipulation that took place.
Thank you #atriabooks, #netgalley, #lisajewell for the ARC

Thank you, #Partner @atriabooks @atriathrillers and @netgalley, for my #gifted (free) copy. Pub date 6/24/25.

This is one of the best psychological thrillers I have read in a long time. Wow, the story just kept getting juicier and juicier, and I had a hard time putting this one down. It took me a few chapters to understand what was going on, but once you get a hang of the main characters, the story is just unstoppable. #LisaJewell never disappoints, and this is her best book yet! Pre-order and add this crazy ride to your TBR.

He was the perfect husband until he started disappearing for days at a time and would turn his phone off. That's all I'm giving you because I don't want to give away any spoilers. There are so many twists and turns that will leave you dumbfounded. I can't wait for this one to come out in June because it will definitely be THE book everyone is talking about. 5 amazing stars!

Lisa Jewell never fails to come through with insane twists and a knock out ending. This time was as per usual. If multiple characters and storylines are difficult for you, definitely take notes.
This was a slower read for me than her last book but it was certainly entertaining. Add this to your tbr!

This was a good one- not my favorite but I felt that it was suspenseful and the writing is always so great. Didn’t feel a connection with the characters and found myself putting it down a lot.

There is a tangle of relationships that the reader had a hard time following till somewhere near the middle of the book. We have Martha and Al, Nina and Nick, Laura with a missing husband, and Amanda also abandoned with a husband. There are children in these relationships. All the men seem to be busy with work, traveling often away from home, staying out late, or disappearing for days and weeks.

In Don't Let Him In, the bewildered reader finally reaches the point where they can begin to untangle the threads that might link all these people together. Th ere are many women and children, but only one "him" in the end.

It's interesting that it takes the adult child of one of the women to suspect the man who woos her mother and tries to part her from her money. The adult child, Ash, not related to the children of the other women, delves into the man's past to try to catch him with uncontrovertible evidence of falsehood.

There is not much attempt to explain the "him" in the book, why or how he is the way he is. He just is, and some of the women want their revenge and to confront him.

The end result is not a surprise, but the reader gives a sigh of relief to finally have things explained to both the women in the book and to the reader.

I only finished about 35% of the book before I had to stop. This is advertised as a thriller but it is not. There are too many story lines with the “villain” that had me going back to see if I was thinking about the right woman or the home life. I thank NetGalley for an advanced ebook copy for an honest review.

This was the first book that I read of this author and I enjoyed how the story was written that seems to go back and forth. It's set in England and involves basically three different women and their families and how one man is involved in all three. Very good read, I recommend you read it and give this author a chance!

Having thoroughly enjoyed "None of This Is True" during a previous book discussion, I was excited to dive into Lisa Jewell's latest novel, Don't Let Him In. Jewell is known for her gripping narratives and complex characters, and I anticipated another compelling read. However, this one didn't resonate with me as much as her earlier work.

One of the main challenges I faced while reading "Don't Let Him In" was the sheer number of characters. The multitude of wives and their connections to Nick/Al made it difficult to keep track of who was who. Each time one of the wives appeared, I found myself pausing to recall her backstory and her specific relationship with him. This frequent need to reorient myself disrupted the flow of the narrative and diluted my engagement with the story.

Despite this, the plot remained intriguing. Jewell's ability to weave suspense and keep readers guessing is undeniable. I was eager to reach the conclusion to unravel the mystery and understand the characters' motivations and secrets. The pacing of the story ensured that, even with the occasional confusion, I was invested enough to see it through to the end.

So, while "Don't Let Him In" didn't captivate me as much as "None of This Is True," it still offered an engaging narrative with enough suspense to keep me turning the pages.

Thank you to Lisa Jewell, Atria Books, and NetGalley for providing the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Don’t Let Him In is the story of a man who destroys many lives, both figuratively and literally. The plot weaves back and forth through the past and present, through the lives of the many women encountered by a manipulative psychopath.

This book was a slog to get through. Multiple timelines and multiple characters gave me multiple headaches. Lisa Jewell is a hit and miss author for me. While a decent time killer, this one was more of a miss for me.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this offering.
