Formal review to be posted on IG - but gosh….It’s scary to read this and know on a very real level that people like this really exist, that they are good at it, that they thrive on it. I don’t even blame the women - these narcissistic master manipulators know how to think quick on their feet and smooth things over to keep the doubt at bay.

I enjoyed this book, but I did get kind of lost in the larger cast of characters and relationships to keep up with.

Lisa does another killer book, literally! I don’t know if she can top none of this is true for me but man this was a good book. I feel like a lot of her books I need to sit down and write a map of who’s who to help my mind just keep track, she does have a lot of characters and jump around every chapter but I think that’s what makes the twists, turns and plot mix drops so great cuz it’s all so much and keep up is hard sometimes! Did not see the epilogue coming! I think this book was less thrillery than her others and more Sociopathic narcissistic stocked vibe but loved it all the same. Would be another great book club pick! Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for the arc in turn for my honest opinion. Highly recommend any of jewells books to my fellow thriller friends!

I thought this was a mostly entertaining read. The male MC started drag on in the middle, but then things picked up pace again towards the end. A lot of the end was expected, but I was still interested to see what would happen.

Overall, I enjoy Jewell's writing. I enjoyed watching Ash investigate this man that came into her and her mother's lives and how all the other players worked things out. Without giving away any spoilers - what I liked the most about this story was ultimately the growth and strength of the women involved.

In addition to receiving the ARC, I decided to purchase the audio. The audio was narrated by Richard Armitage, Joanne Froggatt, Tamaryn Payne, Gemma Whelan, Louise Brealey, and Patience Tomlinson. This cast did an excellent job. Richard Armitage is perfect as our creepy self-absorbed MC and the rest of the cast was great too. I think the audio added to effect of story and I strongly recommend it.

I look forward to reading more of Jewell's work in the future.

So the first 6 or so chapters, I was a bit lost. But due to the fact that the chapters would switch between POVs of different characters without a chapter header. And trying to find the connection between the POVs. But once you find out the connection 🤯 I was hooked. Many nights I stayed up way later than I should have to read this book. The weaving of the story and the life of this man... I seriously was grossed out and so invested in this story.

I don't want to say anything to give things away, but I highly recommend if you love thrillers, twists and turns, and like "Catch Me If You Can". Yet another smash by Lisa Jewell.

This latest novel by Lisa Jewell was my five-star prediction, and I'm happy to say that not only the book lived up to the expectation, but it is going to be one of my top recommended books by this author. In this novel, several women realize they are connected through their relationship with the same man. He may act like a perfect husband, but all he is - is a perfect liar.

What is stunning about this read, and what immediately drew me in, was that some of the story was told from the villain's perspective. I thought it was brilliant getting the front row seat into the perpetrator's thoughts and actions. It was fascinating to experience Nick's pretence firsthand.

In Lisa's true fashion, this thriller was a real page-turner. Knowing up-front who the bad guy was, made the story even more exciting, expecting and seeing things unravel in front of our eyes. Multiple timelines were executed with precision. You wouldn't be confused even for a second following Nick's complicated lives, lies and relationships. The grand finale was a judgement day! Keep an eye out for the one last twist at the very end.

Every time I read a book by Lisa, I am reminded why I fell in love with the thriller genre. She is a true master storyteller. This novel is definetly a must-read.

Lisa Jewell’s Don’t Let Him in was my first read of the year. Holy smokes was it an absolutely amazing pick! Told in multiple points of view from varying now and then timelines with crazy twits and turns that really kept you on your toes. I’m really not sure how Jewell comes up with such sinister stories but I don’t want her to stop anytime soon. Just when I was wrapping my head around all the things happening in the novel Jewell would throw in something else to stir up the drama. Another outstanding edge of your seat gripping read, that when everything seems finished Jewell says nope not yet and throws you for a mind boggling epilogue.

Don’t Let Him In is a slow burn untangling of one man’s web of lies and all the people who were unfortunately caught in it along the way. I had hoped it would be more of a thriller, but the mystery kept my attention all the way through just the same.

Back at it! I give this one a good 3.5/5.
This is the story of a man who is lying to multiple women and scamming them out of money.
I will say this book started out promising, it held my attention for the most part and I did finish it rather quickly. While the story was great, it just felt a bit repetitive and ended up bringing way too many characters into the mix without it being needed.
I expected a little more of a thriller as well, however the premise did have me guessing where it was all going so I kept reading.

Would suggest this, just please don’t go in expecting it to be super thrilling.

Thanks to @netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exhange for my review!

I love a Lisa Jewell novel, and this one is no exception. Just because you know who the “bad guy” is fairly early on, the plot is full of suspense, twists, and turns. Jewell does a great job telling the story from multiple POVs and, in the end, combining them into one narrative. I would recommend this book for fans of Lucy Foley and Paula Hawkins.

I absolutely loved this book! Lisa Jewell never disappoints. I would highly recommend it!
Be prepared for an unreliable and unlikeable narrator in Nick or is it Al, or is it Johnathan?
A year after Nina Swann’s husband Paddy passes away she is open to dating. After Paddy died she got a sweet note from one of Paddy’s old coworker and ends up swapping emails with him. She quickly becomes smitten. When her daughter Ash starts questioning Nick’s stories, disappearing acts, and lack of money. She starts her own investigation in this man that has grabbed her mother’s heart.

I absolutely love Lisa Jewell and was so excited to receive this ARC for Don't Let Him In. This story was very twisty, following the lives of a few women and how they are all tied to this man. While the storyline was a little predictable, I really enjoyed the ride and was entertained all the way through. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending this ARC my way. As always, will be looking out for more titles for this author. Great for readers who love a twitsy thriller!

Don’t Let Him In is her latest book about a man who swindles women left and right, with fake names and fake sob stories. He seems perfect to each of the woman but he is a shady con man through and through. And in true Lisa Jewell style, it is a slow burn, page turning, red herring filled thriller, filled with unreliable narrators. You don’t know who to believe and what is actually fact and what is fiction. The only thing I knew was that it was all going to implode, I just didn’t know or when. I was hooked and couldn’t read it fast enough, trying to see how it would all play out. I love how she writes her thrillers - how they keep you so suspicious the entire time so that you convince yourself you have figured it out, only to be proven wrong time and time again. Up until the very end.

I am a huge fan of Lisa Jewell's work.

'Don’t Let Him In' is another compelling addition to her growing list of psychological thrillers. Known for her ability to delve deep into the minds of her characters while keeping readers on edge, Jewell delivers a taut, suspense-filled narrative that explores the dangers lurking behind closed doors—both literal and emotional.

Meet Nick Radcliffe, who enters Nina's life as a charming man, consoling her over the grief of losing her husband. Nick tells her how fond he was of her husband. This wins Nina's heart. But Nina's daughter Ash finds him sketchy. He is too charming, too perfect, too polished, which is relatively hard to fathom in today's world.

Ash's doubt about Nick grows stronger when she learns that he is not what he seems to be. Generally, it's the parents who get protective about their children, but in Nina's case, her daughter played that role.

Martha, a sweet florist living with her husband and daughter, finds her husband too absent due to work, especially when she needs him most. She wonders where all the money goes if the husband is working too many hours and away for too many days.

One man—fooling so many women!

In short, 'Don’t Let Him In' is a satisfying, slow-burning thriller that showcases Lisa Jewell at her best. With its layered characters and expertly woven plot, it's perfect for fans of domestic suspense who enjoy stories that creep under your skin and stay with you long after the final page.

This is a mystery about a man that goes by many alibis. He swindles wealthy women out of their money. He is obsessive and violent. The story follows the women as they discover each other and the trail of heartbreak and multiple children this man has left behind. Together they become a powerful force and form a plan to take him down.
Not my favorite. I thought it was very easy to figure out the mystery and plan.

Don’t Let Him In was super tense and creepy in all the right ways. Lisa Jewell always nails the “something’s off” vibe, and this one had me on edge from the very first chapter. It’s one of those stories where you’re constantly questioning who’s telling the truth and who’s hiding something.

The characters are really well written—flawed, messy, and totally human. I found myself switching between liking and suspecting almost everyone, which made the whole thing way more fun to read. The pacing was solid too. It kept me flipping pages, especially in the second half when things really started to unravel.

The only reason it’s not five stars for me is because a couple of the twists felt a little predictable. But even then, the writing and suspense totally made up for it.

If you’re into thrillers that are dark, twisty, and just a little unsettling, this one’s definitely worth picking up.

Lisa Jewell delivers another addictive thriller packed with tension, secrets, and serious red flags. From the moment Nick Radcliffe shows up with his smooth charm and sympathy smile, you know something’s off—but watching Nina fall under his spell is like witnessing a slow-motion car crash. Meanwhile, her daughter Ash is picking up on every sketchy detail: the vague stories, the love-bombing, the subtle gaslighting. And over in another town, Martha’s husband is disappearing for “work trips” that feel way too convenient.

Jewell masterfully builds the dread, layering small moments of unease until the full picture clicks into place. The pacing is sharp, the twists are perfectly placed, and the theme? Don’t ignore your gut. If something feels wrong, it probably is. A chilling, compulsively readable warning wrapped in a brilliant domestic thriller.

I usually enjoy Lisa Jewell books, and I can't say that I did not enjoy this one, but it definitely was a struggle at times. I received an ARC from NetGalley, in exchange for this review.
It kept me engaged enough and I definitely wanted to get to the end resolution but it read a lot like a dateline episode and that went on a little bit too long for my liking. It was just a little bit too much too many characters to remember that got a little tedious at times it just wasn't my favorite Lisa Jewell book. But it won't keep me from reading her future books either...

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I'll be honest I had to make a note on my phone to keep the characters straight, but wow. I had no idea how Lisa was going to tie this all up.

The story starts off with a flower delivery for Nina and the family. Paddy Swann has been murdered. We follow Ash, Nina's daughter, and Nick, a man who seems very taken by Nina.

After just the first few chapters my head was spinning. I had no idea what the heck was going on, what was going to happen next or how it was gonna end. As I said I had to keep a simple list of characters to keep them straight. But other than that I found the story enjoyable. It took me too long to finish due to life, but im glad to have read it and recommend anyone who likes suspense reads to pick this one up!

I am a big Lisa Jewell fan, but this one was probably my least favorite by her. The story is slow for a thriller with a lot of characters that it kept it hard to keep track of. I didn't care about any of the characters because I was infuriated by Nick (or whoever he was).

I couldn’t put this one down! Don’t Let Him In is a chilling, character-driven thriller that hooked me from the very first page. I’ve read quite a few Lisa Jewell books, and this is easily one of my new favourites. In fact, I loved it so much I already bought a copy for a friend’s birthday—it’s that good.

What makes this story stand out is the way the tension builds not from trying to figure out “whodunnit” (you get a pretty clear picture of that early on), but from watching the characters slowly untangle the truth. You know something’s off, and the fun comes from watching the women put the pieces together—and rooting for them as they do.

That said, I can see how this book might not be for everyone. It does read a bit differently than some of Lisa Jewell’s more widely-known titles—less twisty, more psychological slow burn. But I really enjoyed it and think it’s well worth a try, especially if you love stories about charming con artists who aren't what they seem.
