1.75/5 stars This is like, “same soup reheated.” I’ve read this story before and this didn’t add anything new to this tale.

I could have done with a lot less of the man lol he just went on and on and I just didn’t care what he had to say 1/4 of the way into the book.
Ending was a bit mid, would’ve loved a twenty questions moment.
I would recommend this. Doubly so if you’re a criminal minds fan :)

Reminded me a lot of tinder swindler on Netflix, interesting book but too many characters and time jumps made it confusing. Overall an enjoyable read

A fun twisty read following a truly despicable character. Oh how I hate him! I really enjoyed the plot and needed to keep reading to find out just how this saga was going to end. I felt like the book wrapped up nicely and all loose ends were tied; I did think the middle felt a bit bogged down but I still enjoyed the book very much!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for my honest review

Don't Let Him In
Lisa Jewell
I feel like I have read this book before and did not enjoy that version either. My first thought : It's 2025 - do we really think that women are this gullible and naive? I found that part of the storyline to be offensive, especially coming from a woman author. I found the novel to be repetitive and not thrilling or suspenseful at all. Although this story contained Many characters, I did not have trouble following the story. I guess because the women all blended into one very trusting stereotype. I know I am an outlier. Maybe it's time to take a break from Ms. Jewell.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an eCopy of Don't Let Him In. My thoughts are my own.

Lisa Jewell nailed Nick’s character in this novel. His actions consistently aligned with who he was written to be.
As much as I wanted to love this one, it just didn’t land for me. The story had an intriguing premise, but the pacing felt slow and uneven, especially in the first half. It didn’t pick up for me until 60% of the way through. I found myself wanting to DNF it more than once. The plot felt underdeveloped in places, and I kept wishing for deeper character insight, for example, about Nick’s upbringing, or more tightly woven twists. I wanted more tension, more urgency, something to pull me in that never quite came.
I’ll continue to check out future work from the author, as I know Lisa Jewell is capable of gripping, layered storytelling. This one just wasn’t the right fit for me.

thank you netgalley, lisa jewell & the publisher for an earc!!
this was a really fun, bingeable psychological thriller. at times it felt a bit convoluted, but it was still enjoyable and easy to read. this is my second lisa jewell and im a fan of how quickly her writing gets me interested in the story. would recommend for anyone interested in a psychological thriller (and great for getting out of a reading slump!)

This was a page turner!! Jewel wove quite the thriller with a lot of different characters and settings. The way it all came together was remarkable. I enjoyed that we heard the villian's thoughts throughout the book. He was certainly someone we could hate and his unraveling was delicious.
I was quite shocked at parts of the story and the length's the villian would go to in covering his tracks. I loved how the daughter was able to unravel the story. I enjoyed the surprise ending! I would recommend this book to most anyone. Thank you to Netgalley for the chance to review this book.

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
If you're coming to this book after reading None of This Is True then expect a very different book. Both are very good but I don't consider this one a thriller. I don't even know how to categorize this book. This story tells the story of a conman and the women who fall for him.
The one thing that is the scariest about this book is how believable it could be for a guy like this to be out here conning women like this. At the same time you can't stand reading how the women could fall for these schemes but know that it happens every day.
I did find the book enjoyable but the last like 30% of the book was amazing and where it really hit its stride. I had no desire to put the book down at that book and absolutely needed to find out what happened at that point.

Okay, yes this story did hook me pretty quick but it was also extremely frustrating knowing as a reader, how much Nick/Al was getting away with and being totally nasty to the women in his life. Yes, it is pretty obvious he is a psychopath and he is not meant to be likable but I only kept reading because I wanted to see his great house of cards fall apart and he would have to pay for his many crimes. The way he manipulates those he comes in contact with and how quickly he could believably lie to cover his tracks was insidious. However, I finished this book and it just left me feeling upset. I have read a few books about psychopaths and their delusions and plans which were much more entertaining, not the least because they get caught in the end. I think I liked this parts of the book with how Ash, Jane, and Martha figured out what was going on with Nick and their plan to catch him in his lies more than the sections that were his view of the different relationships he had over the years and how he gaslighted and deceived the women into trusting him and taking everything with their permission because they thought it was love.
So, I will say it was well written but I just did not like Nick and so I was not a fan of the ending.

Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite authors, but this book just wasn’t for me. The alternating timelines and endless list of characters made it hard to keep everything straight. I definitely consider this to be more of a slow burn suspense than a thriller. A lot of time is spent rehashing prior events as the FMC unravels Simon’s past, which made it feel repetitive and slow, but the ending felt rushed. I still love Lisa Jewell, but this was a miss for me.

If you love a good mystery with a main character, you love to hate and others you want to scream at, this is the book for you! This is a story of a beloved husband who goes above and beyond for his wife… all of his wives. He is devoted, kind, loving, and completely unhinged. When one family member begins to suspect he is not who he seems, she begins digging. What she finds may be the undoing of her own family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery and just when I thought there’s no way there could be more, there was! The author did a fabulous job of reeling in the readers and holding them hostage until the very last page. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my arc copy. These opinions on my own.

Nina Swann is intrigued when she meets Nick Radcliffe after the death of her husband. But her daughter, Ash, is not so trusting and feels like Nick might be a little too slick. Martha lives with her husband, Alastair and their daughter, but her husband seems to be home less and traveling more. The three are headed on a crash course of finding the sordid truth.
I don’t know that I would classify this as a thriller, but more of a crash you come upon while sitting in traffic on a hot day. The main character is detestable and the cast of characters is exceeding large. You know where the story is going, but you can’t help but gawking at the destruction and devastation in the wake of the main characters actions. At times, I did find the large cast hard to keep straight in my head and didn’t find the normal anticipations typical of a thriller. If you like the slower pace of suspense novels without the twists and turns of a thriller, this might be for you.

If Lisa Jewell writes it, I’m going to read it!
This book has one of the best endings I’ve read in a thriller book in a very long time.

Get ready for a wild ride with Lisa Jewell's Don't Let Him In, a gripping thriller that pulls you right into a tale of deceit and manipulation. We meet several women, including Nina, a grieving widow, and Martha, a florist, who all unknowingly fall for the same dangerous man, a master of disguise with multiple identities. With so many characters and viewpoints, you'll be constantly piecing together the puzzle, trying to sort out who's who in this intricate web of lies. This story really draws you in, building suspense as these women inch closer to uncovering a shocking truth about the man who charmed his way into their lives.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #AtriaBooks for the book #DontLetHimIn by #LisaJewell. This book is super good with all kinds of twists till the explosive ending. Ash just lost her father to a horrible accident and she feels like her world is crashing. Months after the funeral, Ash’s mother, Nina starts getting messages from a stranger who was supposedly an old friend of her late husband. Ash seems suspicious and decides to find out more about this new mystery man. What she finds is incomprehensible. Can she convince her mother of what she finds?

Lisa Jewell does it again. Although I saw the end coming, the descriptive writing along the way was worthwhile. When the book is in Nick’s perspective I felt smarmy and dirty.

A psychological thriller had me trying to figure out just who is Nick Radcliffe! The plot was on point on this one. Suspenseful with anticipation for some twists and turns which, unfortunately, just didn’t happen. Perhaps I was the one coming at this one wrong. There were a lot of female characters and perhaps if I focused on them and why they allowed this narcissistic character worm his way into their lives, the book would have taken a different feel for me. But I kept thinking there’s something I’m missing with this imposter of a character that’s going to be the twist, and actually he was just a one dimension con all the way through. I would characterize this as less of a thriller and more of a slow burn psychological character study.
When Nick Radcliffe comes into the life of Nina Swann after her husband’s death, her daughter is less enamored with him than her mother. As her unease continues, Ash begins looking into Nick’s past and quickly and rightly so has some serious concerns.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️/5
I loved the premise of this book but quickly found it so hard to follow. There is a man character who is catfishing a lot of women and each time he changes his names which I found to be super confusing. Then it would jump back from the past to now. The different time lines were very frustrating and hard to follow. I felt like I needed to take notes to keep up with what was going on and who was who.
Nina Swann is intrigued when she received a condolence card from Nick Radcliffe, an old friend of her late husband, who is looking to connect after her husband’s unexpected death. Nick is a man of substance and good taste. He has a smile that could melt the coldest heart and a knack for putting others at ease. But to Nina’s adult daughter, Ash, Nick seems too slick, too polished, too good to be true. Without telling her mother, Ash begins digging into Nick’s past. What she finds is more than unsettling…
Martha is a florist living in a neighboring town with her infant daughter and her devoted husband, Alistair. But lately, Alistair has been traveling more and more frequently for work, disappearing for days at a time. When Martha questions him about his frequent absences, he always has a legitimate explanation, but Martha can’t share the feeling that something isn’t right.
Nina, Martha, and Ash are on a collision course with a shocking truth that is far darker than anyone could have imagined. And all three are about to wish they had heeded the same warning: Don’t let him in. But the past won’t stay buried forever.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to ARC read this!

Thank you Atria and Netgalley for this ARC! Wow one of the best books I’ve read in 2025! When a good looking man comes into women’s lives and gives them what they want don’t they owe him a little something? He gives them love, adoration makes them feel their best selves. When the women start questioning and gathering info and swapping stories how will he react? Where can he go from there? Lisa Jewel really gave us a fantastic read!!!!
