Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Lisa Jewell for the eARC of Don’t Let Him In! This book was a solid 4 stars for me up until the very end, and that bumped it up to 4.5 for me. Lisa Jewell really knows how to write a thriller, and I loved that this book was focused around a male con-artist. So interesting, thrilling, and definitely worth the read!

Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell delivers on the twists and turns you’d expect from her, with a suspenseful and intriguing plot that kept me guessing throughout. One of the standout elements is the unique storytelling structure, which adds to the mystery and tension in a clever way.
That said, I found the first half a bit of a struggle. There are quite a few characters introduced early on—some using different names or identities—and it was genuinely hard to keep track of who was who. While this confusion ties into the story itself and eventually becomes clearer, it did make it difficult to fully immerse myself at the start.
Overall, once I found my footing, I was hooked. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers and don't mind a bit of disorientation up front, this is definitely worth the read.

I received "Don't Let Him In" from NetGalley in exchange for my review.
I am a huge Lisa Jewell fan. 'Then She was Gone' was one of the first books I picked up when I started my reading journey and I've been addicted to her books since. This book was no exception. I felt it was a little different and out there compared to some of her other books but 'Don't Let Him In' kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I kept reading and reading because I wanted to know the stories of so many of the characters. I had to go back and reread a couple times because the twists had me confused but in a good way. And also the ending! Definitely give this book a read. It will be one of the top books of the year for sure!

Lisa Jewell is one of my auto-read authors. I don’t even need to know the plot. If her name is on the cover, I am in. I’ve lost sleep over most of her novels, and I regret nothing.
Don’t Let Him In absolutely delivers. I will admit it dragged just a touch for me in spots, but even that did not dampen the brilliance of the story. Want a masterclass in writing a truly despicable human being? Buckle up because this book nails it.
And no, I am not spoiling a single thing by telling you anything else. Partly because it is hard to summarize without giving too much away, and partly because you need to experience it cold. Just know this... the epilogue is absolute perfection. I am talking full-body chills. Spontaneous cheering. It is an awesome ending! *chef’s kiss*
If you are already a Jewell fan, this one is a no-brainer. If you haven’t read her books yet, you’re seriously missing out. Pick any of her books. Seriously. You are in for an awesome ride.
Thank you @netgalley and @atriabooks for a copy of this book, which I have read and reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Lisa Jewell’s latest (published on June 24th, 2025) in bullet points:
a suspenseful, psychological thriller
🧔🏼♂️introduces the most infuriating male character I think I’ve ever read
😬like other Lisa Jewell books I’ve read (Then She Was Gone and None of This Is True) might make the reader a little “uncomfy” because the situations that the characters are put it in are tough
🤬all of the emotions during this one : 😡🤬😳🙄
😳felt enthralled and entertained throughout
⭐️I definitely would recommend this for your summer thriller lists!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the digital copy in advance of my feedback!

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewel
This book was awesome, so many twists and turns. I loved the plot, the characters and the setting.
One of the best books by Lisa Jewell. There are lots of characters, but introduced in a manner that's easy to keep straight. I lived reading this book, I was hooked from the first page

Twisty and unhinged in all the right ways.
This domestic thriller delivers exactly what one expects from Lisa Jewel - this time with a narcissistic psychopath that makes you question yet understand how easily this could happen to unsuspecting woman.

Lisa Jewell has done it again. Don’t Let Him In is a tightly wound, nerve-shredding psychological thriller that grips you from the very first page and refuses to let go. Jewell expertly builds an atmosphere of creeping dread, with characters that feel achingly real and a plot that twists in all the right places.
What sets this book apart is how effortlessly it balances suspense with emotional depth. The shifting perspectives and layered backstories add richness without ever slowing down the pace. I found myself torn between racing to the next chapter and lingering over the details, afraid of what might be coming but needing to know.
Without giving anything away, this is one of those thrillers where you think you know what’s going on—until you absolutely don’t. The ending left me breathless.
Huge thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I feel lucky to have had the chance to read this early, and I know it will be a massive hit when it releases.
If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that mess with your head and your heart—this one’s for you.

This one did not work for me at all. I should have DNF’d but I kept on because it was Lisa Jewell. This was not a thriller in any way. Once I switched to the audio I did enjoy it a bit more but this was still a big miss for me. The ending was decent but had to suspend disbelief because it all came together so quickly, tidy and seamlessly.

eARC Review: Don’t let him in by Lisa Jewell

It’s always a great thing whenever Jewell releases an awesome new book! She has easily become one of my favorite authors over these last couple years. I’ve read several of her books & I have enjoyed them all. This newest book of hers managed to keep me intrigued throughout my whole time of reading it. I kept on wondering how things & relationships would tie together in the end. Everything concluded nicely with this story & it is another one that I will be recommending to others to read. I’m also still attempting to wrap my head around the thoughts that crossed my mind while reading this intense story!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! I have really enjoyed reading Lisa Jewell books but this one wasn’t it. The book did not feel like a thriller, mystery or anything else exciting. The main character was very unlikeable, which was probably the point. Everything he did felt repetitive. And to be honest, all of the other characters were boring, and she had several. They were so similar and boring that at times that I was getting them mixed up, they felt interchangeable. I feel like this book does not compare to the quality of thrillers she had written in the past and I was pretty disappointed to say the least.

This was a love hate relationship in a good way. It made me hate men. But I liked how the ending tied up in a bow. I do wish it hit on Ash a little more as an unreliable narrator—I feel like the details came too late in the story. (but loved the twist at the end with it)

Super creepy, scary how easily someone can work their way into your life. It feels like the big message here is that women so often don’t trust their instincts, want to appear “nice”, or let themselves be won over by a smooth taking man

This was a bit longer than it needed to be, and I found it pretty predictable, but still enjoyed it!

A complex, domestic suspense/psychological thriller! It definitely took me a few chapters to understand what was going on, but once I did, I was invested. This story was filled with dark secrets, deeply flawed characters and vulnerability. Jewell interlaces timelines and viewpoints, slowing uncovering the many layers of Nick. He was narcissistic yet so charming, making it infuriating as a reader to watch him continue to deceive so many people. The slow-burn tension, plot twists and satisfying ending made this a rewarding read!

You can always count on Lisa Jewell for a great, suspenseful read.
There is a lot going on in this story for sure.
It’s hard to give a good review without giving away the story line.
All I will say is this is definitely a book you will want to read.
Strong characters, suspenseful, and thing you won’t see coming.

I am always so excited for a new Lisa Jewell, but this one missed the mark for me a bit and was very different from her norm. Jewell’s writing style is top notch, using multiple POVs and timelines to bring the story together. However, with all of the characters within these different timelines it made it a little confusing. I found that every time I was going to begin a new chapter, I had to remind myself which women/kids were involved in that time period before starting.
I did find it engaging, but predictable and a little far fetched; especially toward the end. I’m a lover of twisty, edge of your seat thrillers with “I didn’t see that coming” vibes and this was not really filled with any of that, so maybe it just wasn’t for me 🤷🏻♀️. If you like con-artist tropes, I would recommend because this guy was definitely nuts and overall entertaining 🤣
Thank you Atria for the gifted copy.

Nina’s husband has been dead less than a year when she meets Nick Radcliffe. An attractive older man, they soon enter into a relationship. But Nina’s daughter is suspicious and begins to look into Nick’s past. Told from multiple POVs, including Nick’s, the reader learns about a lifetime of conning women, murder and endless deceit.
This was a good book and I wanted to see how it would pan out with all of Nick’s lies. In some ways it was like a slow-moving car wreck. You know bad things are going to happen to people and there is no stopping it. I wish some of the women weren’t such saps.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for a copy of this novel.

I had the opportunity to read an advanced copy of Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell. This is a story centered around a con man with multiple wives and children, and the mystery lies in how all of their lives intersect. While I typically love Jewell’s work and appreciate her signature twists, this one didn’t quite land for me the way her other books have.
It took me longer to get through, mostly because I struggled to get fully invested in the storyline. There were quite a few characters and overlapping timelines, which made it a bit hard to follow at times. While the concept was intriguing, the execution felt a bit too scattered. Still, I’ll always be excited to pick up a new Lisa Jewell book—this one just wasn’t my personal favorite.

Completely Addictive – I Was Shocked the Whole Way Through!
Don't Let Him In had me hooked from the very first page. Lisa Jewell does such a brilliant job of pulling you into the story and never letting go. I was completely sucked in—the tension, the mystery, the characters... everything just worked.
I honestly had no idea what was going to happen next. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something new would twist the story in a totally unexpected direction. I couldn’t stop reading—I had to know what was really going on, and the reveals were so satisfying and shocking.
This book kept me on edge the entire time in the best possible way. If you love dark, twisty thrillers that mess with your head and keep you second-guessing until the very end, you have to read this one.

Books like Don’t Let Him In reaffirm why Lisa Jewell remains one of my all-time favorite authors. She has a gift for creating layered, complex characters and dropping them into situations where secrets, lies, and betrayals bubble just beneath the surface. In her latest, we follow several women whose lives slowly unravel as the truth creeps in—and just when you think you know where it’s going, Jewell throws in another twist. The pacing is taut, the writing sharp, and the tension kept me hooked until the very last page. A dark, compelling read that I couldn’t put down.
