This is definitely my least favorite Lisa Jewell book and probably the least “thriller-y” of hers. There’s so many unlikeable characters and a lot of whining and gaslighting. Whew! I’m glad that the ending did pull everything together though.

Super twisty, fast, unique story! At first I felt overwhelmed by the number of characters, but I quickly figured it out and it became much less confusing. Ash was super likeable and I felt for her so much. The story of Nick was SO crazy, like, super fun and interesting to see unfold!! Overall a great book, total page turner!

Domestic suspense isn’t my favorite genre, so this one didn’t quite work for me. I found the pacing slow, predictable, and more repetitive than Lisa Jewell’s usual work. That said, I know many readers really enjoyed it, so I may just be in the minority here. It’s definitely not a top Lisa Jewell read for me, but it won’t stop me from picking up more of her books in the future!

I've read several Lisa Jewell novels ans always enjoy the twist and turns of her stories; Don't Let Him In didn't disappoint either. Some parts I wanted to speed through but overall the story kept me guessing (and yelling at the women to open their eyes!). I definitely recommend this one to all the Lisa Jewell fans.

I just didn’t buy the premise of this one - a man who leaves a trail of bodies, wives, children, for DECADES, and no one suspects a thing until a daughter of his new mark starts wondering? Yeah, I kept hoping it would turn around for me as I have loved many of Jewell’s previous books, but this was a miss for me.

Nick Radcliffe is both charming and handsome. He is exactly what Nina Swann needs in her life right after her husband’s unexpected death. But, to Nina’s daughter, Ash, there is something fishy about Nick, something too good to be true. Without telling her mother, Ash starts digging into Nick’s past, and what she finds is very unsettling. Martha is a florist living with her devoted husband Alistair and infant daughter. But recently, Alistair has been traveling for work, disappearing for days at a time. When Martha questions him about his absence, he always has legitimate excuses, but Martha just can’t shake the feeling that something is amiss. Nina, Martha, and Ash are about to discover the shocking truth of who Nick/Alistair really is. They’re about to wish they had never let him into their lives.

Overall, I enjoyed this latest Lisa Jewell book. The multiple points of view and relatively short chapters drew me in from the start. However, I did find it to be a bit of a slow burn. I found the book to be suspenseful, but not as thrilling as I would expect from a Jewell book. I would give this one 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Sick and twisted and I loved it! This is Lisa Jewell at the top of her game, wow wow wow... I love the multiple perspectives, I love that I couldn't guess all the twists, and I love Ash, the main character, so much!

I really wanted to love this book!! I’ve enjoyed Lisa Jewell in the past, and the premise had so much potential. But this one missed the mark for me.

There were a lot of characters, timelines, and details to keep up with, which made the reading experience feel more like a chore than the suspenseful escape I was hoping for. The constant back-and-forth between time periods got confusing, and I found myself flipping back to try and remember who was who.

Alister? Absolutely horrible. No debate there. But the women he manipulated seemed far too intelligent to fall for his schemes so easily — which made their choices feel unrealistic and frustrating.

And the ending… oof. It felt off-base and didn’t wrap up in a way that made all the earlier complexity feel worth it.

This book had the bones of something great, but for me, it just didn’t come together in a satisfying way.

It is best to go in blind on this one! Twisted, and non stop fast paced read. Probably the best villain story for me in a long time. It’s chaotic and messy, and I was here for all of it!

There are a lot of characters in this one, with multiple timelines, and POV, so it took me awhile to figure out who everyone was, but once I did, I flew through the story.

Read this one if you enjoy a good con-artist trope, with multiple POV, and timelines.

Boring! I have read this book before by a different author under a different title, and I didn't like that one either. For that reason, I will give it a 3 star considering it may be a me issue if everyone else seems to love it.

Nina Swann is mourning the death of her husband, restaurateur Paddy, when she receives a thoughtful correspondence from Nick Radcliffe, an old acquaintance of her husband. Her daughter Ash, in her twenties and dealing with mental health challenges, becomes concerned when Nina starts dating the handsome and charming Nick, who seems too perfect. Ash is determined to learn more about him. Then we meet Martha, who owns a local flower shop. She has two children from her first marriage and a baby daughter with her current husband, Alistair. Martha grows increasingly concerned when Alistair's job keeps him away for days at a time, and he becomes unreachable. Their money issues are mounting. Alistair is keeping things from her, and she needs to uncover his secrets.

Lisa Jewell, a favorite author, has written a dark thriller I couldn't put down. In Don't Let Him In, there are many characters in this tense tale, and it takes a while to figure out who everyone is and how they all connect as the timelines and points of view shift. But stay with it, it all comes together and is well worth the ride.

4.25 stars.

Wow! Lisa Jewell does it again. Don’t Let Him In was a wild ride. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read. I loved the use of multiple POVs and how the timelines started to crossover with each POV. I felt like I was a part of this tangled web!

This book was the perfect thriller with so much suspense and such a thrilling ending.

I’m rating this book 5 stars.

Lisa Jewell never disappoints (except I'm on the Marvel struggle bus!). Another great one with so many connecting takes that all finally come together.

This was not a thriller. I repeat, this is NOT a thriller.

It’s a story about a sociopathic con man (and not even a very good one at that) and a whole bunch of boring, gullible women. There was no real twist, just a slow and steady “unveiling” of information. And if you have at least two brain cells bopping around in your head, you already knew what was going to happen the whole time. None of it was surprising or particularly interesting—all I had at the end of this book was a tummy ache.

“Don’t Let Him In” is a multi-perspective thriller novel giving readers a persistent sense of dread.

I’d give this a 3 or a 3.5. It felt, fine.

What I Liked:
The overall tone of the book. The growing sense of how big the story is. How awful it all is. I love thrillers and I love how they make my whole body feel alert. With this one, it’s not like a gory romp with bodies everywhere, but a growing sense of dread and unease and fear and I did find myself wanting to know how it ends.

What I Didn’t Like:
I think it’s a risk to have over of your POV’s be the bad guy and it didn’t ~always~ land for me. There were a few moments I really liked from his POV but by the end I was pretty sick of him. (Which I get is also the point but still).

I also just, this isn’t even a good or bad thing it just felt fine. Like the ending felt fine. The writing was good! The story was fine. I don’t know that this book will stand out to me in the future ya know?

Story about a man who is married to different women over the past 15ish years and about the overlap and deception he has been telling them. Of course, he has to get caught eventually, right?

This was a good book to get me out of a reading slump! Finally a book that lives up to the hype! Lisa Jewell has done it again! I had to know what happened to the women who lives were being ruined by one evil man!

The story centers around different women who all end up becoming involved with one charming, dazzling, handsome man. It’s scary to believe that narcissists like him walk among us every day. The plot twists kept coming and I found my self wanting him to have his day of reckoning for all the havoc he wreaked! This is definitely a page turner! Lisa Hew

Excellent new novel by Lisa Jewell! Dark, chaotic, stressful, and kept me engaged from start to finish.

As the wild con-man story unfolds and more characters come into play, the mystery and tension built keeping me turning pages and looking forward to getting back to the book when I had to put it down. I did feel it was a little longer than necessary, but the ending was satisfying and overall it’s another winner from this popular author.

Lisa Jewel books are sometimes hit or miss for me but I can confidently say this was one of her best! It’s a story that’s been told before but from a perspective and point of view that is completely new. I was hooked in from the beginning. This thriller is based on a web of lies and I had so much fun trying to untangle it along the way. I would definitely recommend giving this book a read!

This was a crazy ride, and I would expect nothing less from a Lisa Jewell book. This book is about a man who cons women into marrying him and then swindles them out of money before leaving them for the next job. I liked that it had multiple points of view, including a woman he is currently married to, the daughter of a woman he’s dating, and even the man himself. This story was less of a mystery and more of a journey of trying to figure out how this man can be discovered and stopped (or in the case of his point of view, how he will continue his machinations). I couldn’t put the last 20% down because I was so invested. Really enjoyable and great for anyone who isn’t into super creepy mystery/thrillers and wants something easier to read but still gripping.
