I have never met a Lisa Jewell book I didn’t like. Her characters are so complex and damaged, leading to fascinating stories. This book was up to par with all of her others. I am finishing this book at 3 am which proves the unputdownable writing of Lisa Jewell. She is an auto-buy author for me!

Eh... this was not great. It felt like an every day thriller without anything really that special or surprising that would make it stand out from others. The characters you were supposed to root for were insufferable and one dimensional.

At least for me it was obvious what was happening with the main male character and the women in the book. Unfortunately for me it's one of my least favorite tropes in mystery/trillers. I'm also not sure I would categorize this in mystery or thriller. It was like domestic. Long and drawn out.

I'm not sure if it's just my tastes have changed or Lisa Jewell has changed her writing style but sadly I haven't had much luck sigh her latest books.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for this advanced reader copy. My review is voluntarily my own.

I am such a fan of Lisa Jewell but I didn't love this one as much as the previous novels I have read of hers. This one had lots of twists and turns but I felt like the ending was rushed and the middle was a bit slow. Some parts were predictable but others had me guessing what was going to happen next.

I’ve learned that Lisa Jewell is SUCH a hit or miss for me that I need to wait to see reviews before I pick up her books because I’ve had some flops.

I don’t quite get how this was a thriller because it was pretty boring in my opinion. I think if this were just like either straight fiction almost with a little mystery, that just feels more accurate?

It was very obvious what was going on with this book and maybe that was the point?

But it seems weird because then I’m not really sure what the point of the book was or what was the mystery behind it?

It felt just more like they were trying to decide how to bring a character to justice maybe?

I’m not sure, but I think going forward I’ll wait for reviews of her books to come out more before I dive in.

The different POV chapters had me confused what family I was reading about. It was apparent right away what was going on with Nick/Al, Tom, Dick and Harry lol
If anyone didn’t see that in the first 10%, that would be the biggest shocker of all from this book. I usually enjoy a good domestic thriller but this one wasn’t for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria for the ARC opportunity.

I liked Don’t Let Him In — it was an easy, engaging read with solid writing, as expected from Lisa Jewell. It didn’t quite deliver on the thriller aspect I was hoping for, but it did hit the psychological portion. Still enjoyable, just not as twisty or intense as I expected going in. Still worth a read.

I love Lisa Jewell and look forward to her new book every year. It seems, though, about every five books or so, there's one of Jewell's that just doesn't hit for me like so many of her others do. I didn't like anyone here. I found them hard to keep straight. I also want strong, smart female protagonist's, and these women weren't that. I just didn't feel the urgency in this one like her others, either. I am so sad it's not a hit for me, but I will gladly be back when her next book is out!

Lisa Jewell has been one of my favorite authors for a few years now and Don't Let Him In did not disappoint! I enjoyed the multiple points of views throughout the book and the ending was *chef's kiss* perfect!

Lisa Jewell's new thriller follows several main characters through a maddening story of female stupidity and male debauchery! Although this is only fiction, it reminds the reader how blindly women can "love" their man even in the face of utter and blatant untruths! Set in small-town England in the late 90's, Lisa Jewell tells the story of Paddy Swann, Nina Swann, Ash Swann, Nick Radcliffe, Martha & Alistair Grey. Their lives are all unknowingly, intimately intertwined until the death of Paddy Swann starts the unraveling of all the sickening secrets.

The toxic story is told in just under 400 enraging pages. Because this story is written through multiple character perspectives and alternating timelines, this is not an easy, quick read. Sometimes it's easy for the reader to get a little lost in the very numerous characters involved in the plot. One must pay attention to detail, maybe even take some notes or annotate. The reader will want to yell "How can you be so stupid and gullible" throughout the whole painfully embarrassing story. Truly an enjoyable read.

The overwhelming message from this story is to listen to that little voice in one's head, no matter how difficult! Now go get yourself a copy!

Thank you LIsa Jewell, Atria Books, and Net Galley for this eARC book in return for an honest review. The opinions expressed in this review were my own.

Lisa will always be an auto buy for me and this one did not disappoint.
Filled with twist and turns I love how the past built up the present and just being in that guys head was so creepy. A book that will stick with you especially if you had a ex like that at one point in your life.

This book had potential, but ultimately fell flat for me. The plot was very predictable, and I never felt the tension or suspense I expect from a thriller. While Lisa Jewell’s writing is always solid, this one lacked the spark and twists that usually keep me turning the pages. It wasn’t a bad read, just not memorable. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced e-arc in exchange for an honest review!

Lisa Jewell does it again! Addictive! Creepy! Shocking! A real life thriller novel that will make you second guess everything.

The perfect man, or is he?
Recently widowed Nina receives a condolence card from Nick Radcliffe, a previous associate of her late husband and they meet up and find a connection in each other. Her daughter, Ash, feels like something is off with him and starts looking into his past.
Martha has a nice life living in a neighboring town with her children and husband, Alistair. But recently Alistair has been disappearing for long periods of time and something seems off to Martha.
They end up finding shocking truths that are far darker than they imagined.

I devoured this!! Once I really picked it up and figured out the many characters and differing POVs, I could not put it down. You will read this in one sitting! Lisa Jewell is able to write thrillers that really put you right there with the characters. A terrifying yet exhilarating experience!

If you loved None of This Is True, you will love this one even more!!

3.5 stars! I enjoyed this book because it kept me engaged and wanting to read more. I loved how the different plots of the story intersected naturally and all came together nicely. I typically enjoy Lisa Jewells writing style, however, I found at times that the amount of pop culture references seemed unnatural. For instance, the adults using the phrase "losing the plot" and the amount of tiktok references. I thought this was a good book and I would recommend it to fans of mysteries, although the plot twists were not overly shocking.

oh my goodness this book has magnified all of my fears about men and made my trust issues from a past relationship even worse than before. The mmc in this book knows how to gaslight, love bomb and manipulate people into just about everything he wants. That is until one day one of his victims starts following her intuition and starts digging for truth and what she uncovers with the help of other people will leave you shocked. I read this on my kindle app so I couldn't throw a book across the room or slam it shut but I wanted to more than once. I won't give any specific spoilers but I will tell you check your trigger warnings. Do not go into this book without first reading the blurb and maybe a few reviews. This book was one of the best books by Lisa Jewell that I have read.

Audiobook Review
Overall 3.5 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 2.5-3 stars

This was a fantastically narrated audiobook and I really enjoyed all the different performances. Richard Armitage's narration was definitely a highlight for me. The premise was intriguing and I had an overall feeling of unease throughout, but the story suffered from having too many characters. The women started to blend together as the book went on and it got confusing keeping everyone straight (perhaps that was the point?) Thankfully, the different narrators helped a bit with this. Things unfolded pretty much as I expected and I didn't find any of the twists (several are thrown in rapid fire at the end) particularly shocking. Don't Let Him In was an entertaining listen though and concluded in a satisfying way. I actually kind of wish it hadn't ended so cleanly and would have left things more unsettled. This is my first book by the author, but I plan to read more from her backlist.

This was a great, suck-you-in suspense book. The timeline and multiple POVs was a bit confusing at first, but easy to understand after a bit. It requires a bit of thinking, but I don’t mind that! This one is told by the perspective of the shady man and a few of the women and families that he is involved with. I never quite knew what was coming next or what we were going to learn about the past, which is the point of this kind of book! I definitely recommend this one. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me access to this title!

Well, this was page turning just to see how it would all turn out. It was easy to understand what was going down but also there were pieces of the puzzle that had to slowly slot into place.

When Ash's father dies and her mother a year later starts to date Nick...I was glad to see that Ash was almost immediately suspicious of him. I admired her tenacity to have the want to figure Nick out and protect her vulnerable mother. The added parts of Ash's past were kind of a 🤯 moment and I got a bit scared at the end but it turned out ok and I know I smiled at the end.

I really enjoyed this book in the end. I wasnt quiet sure about it at the beginning because it didn't seem like a thriller.

I like that we are following different woman stories and how they all relate back to one man. One man with different names.

Lisa Jewell did a wonderful job wrapping the story up and making it so I had no idea how it was going to end. Thank you to Atria books and Netgalley for the eArc.

I love how Lisa’s books grab me from the get go and I can’t stop reading! Truly unputdownable. I always vividly picture her stories in my head as a movie happening in real time.

The reveals were so good. The plot kept getting better and better. Without giving it away - Howwww does someone keep up with all that?! And to think there might be people out there that are just like him. It will definitely make you question EVERYTHING about nice men. Hahaha. Overall. It was so good!

If you enjoy con-artist related stories mixed with murder, and “I need to know what happens next” vibes, definitely pick this one up!

Thank you Atria for the advanced digital copy!

Don’t Let Him In was a tense, twisty read that had me hooked from start to finish. Lisa Jewell always delivers, and this one was no exception. I’ve read several of her books and love how she builds suspense slowly, letting the unease creep in bit by bit.

The story follows Nina, her daughter Ash, and Martha, each with their own perspective on what’s really going on. I loved how their stories slowly started to overlap, and how you’re never quite sure who to trust. Ash’s growing suspicions, Nina’s grief and vulnerability, and Martha’s unsettling gut feeling all added layers that kept me guessing.

Just when I thought I had it figured out, something would shift and I’d be second-guessing everything. The pacing was perfect, and the tension never let up.

If you like psychological thrillers with strong female characters and a slow build that pays off in the end, this one is worth picking up. I flew through it and didn’t want to put it down.
