As a fan of Lisa Jewel I can say I was immediately sucked in. This was more of a domestic suspense than your typical thriller. I was a bit confused in the beginning, only because there’s so much going on, with past, present and all the names thrown at you, but it’s something you definitely catch on quickly, and the mystery slowly starts to unravel. As a reader I was annoyed at the stupidity of some of the characters, common sense was definitely lacking here. With that I knew pretty early on where this book was going. Overall this was fun, quick, at times reads like a lifetime movie book. Review posted on Goodreads @JR

[3.5 rounded up] After her husband’s untimely passing, Nina starts to date his old acquaintance, Nick, who seems almost too good to be true. Nina’s daughter Ash grows suspicious and begins to investigate. Meanwhile, Martha is increasingly suspicious of her perfect husband, Alistair, wondering where he keeps disappearing to, so she starts to ask questions she might not want to know the answers to.

I appreciated the meticulous planning and connections between the two POVs and timelines and how carefully the story unfolds to reveal the full picture. However, it was very clear to me from early on what was happening, and when I thought back to the first chapter, even the “why” was obvious. I kept turning the pages, waiting patiently for the surprise. But there was never a major shock or twist, more of a slowly simmering sense of unease that rapidly escalates towards the end. If you know and accept this going in, and you’re satisfied with only an explanation of how it all fits together, it’s a good book. But if you want to figure out the twist, or you’re waiting for a big reveal, you may be disappointed.

4 out of 5 Stars!

Nick Radcliffe is exactly what Nina Swann needs in her life, after her husband's unexpected death. Nick is what every woman wants: polished and addictive. But for Ash, Nina’s daughter, he seems too good to be true. And for that reason, Ash starts to investigate him to figure out his endgame with her mother. What she finds out is unsettling to say the least.

Martha is a florist living with her infant daughter and devoted husband Alistair. Recently, he has been traveling more and disappearing for days at a time. When Martha starts to question where he is going, Alistair always has an explanation. But, Martha couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.

Nina, Martha, and Ash will soon find out the truth. And, it is way worse than anyone could have expected. They should never have let him in.

Lisa Jewell has done it again! “Don’t Let Him In” is a fast-paced, crazy psychological thriller that will have you hooked. This is one of my favorite types of thrillers, trying to find connections and similarities between random characters before they collide together. I will say, pretty early on in the book you know why these women’s stories are connected, but you are unraveling the events in the present and in the past.

Nick was a very interesting character to say the least. I really liked hearing his chapters and his perspective. Jewell did an amazing job at making him out to be this slick yet devoted character that women adored. In fact, I really like all the characters in this novel. They were so different and unique, it was interesting to her their perspectives on the events unfolding. And yes, this book does have multiple perspectives of different characters while jumping back into the past. I thought this worked out great as it gave readers clues about what was going on while keeping the book moving at a faster pace.

I really wanted to give this book a 5 out of 5 stars, because I was so hooked on 80% of the book. I was waiting for something BIG to happen in the last 20%, but I just didn’t get a more shocking twist. The ending did have a lot going on, but I felt like I was able to guess the majority of it prior to it being revealed.

Overall, I would highly recommend “Don’t Let Him In” by Lisa Jewell if you are a fan of “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides and “Kill for Me, Kill for You” by Steve Cavanagh! Pick up your copy of “Don’t Let Him In” on June 24th, 2025!

Thank you to Atria Books, Lisa Jewell, and Netgalley for a digital ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC for my honest review. I will say this is the most twisted story I’ve ever read. I had a hard time keeping the characters straight. The story was full of mystery. The deception was over the top with lots of secrets and quite dark. So if you are in to mysterious psychological abuse along with toxic relationships and even murder. Then this is the book for you.

I was very excited to receive an arc of this book! Lisa Jewell never disappoints. This one started off a bit slow, but once it picked up, I was all in with reading it.
Different povs and multi timelines are my favourite and I really enjoyed going between the past and present and how it finally all connected together. As much as you hated the male main character nick, he was the reason that you couldn’t put this book down.
Another solid book by Lisa Jewell!

Don’t Let Him In is a twisty, addictive read that pulled me in from the start. It reminded me of the “Dear John” podcast—in the best way and kept me hooked with its blend of suspense and emotional depth. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that people can say all the right things, but their actions often tell a different story. This book leans into that truth as the daughter begins to question her mom’s charming new boyfriend and starts digging into his past.

The pacing was spot on, with just enough reveals to keep me guessing, and I thought the character development added real weight to the mystery. And the setting, an atmospheric beachside English town, only made it more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a smart, unsettling story with a strong emotional core, this is a great one to pick up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Nick? Al? Justin? What is his real name? No one knows, but they do know once you let him in, your life will get drastically worse.

I’m not really sure what’s going on with this latest Lisa Jewell book. Usually even if I am not the biggest fan of the story, I am at least entertained by the story. This book completely fell fat flat for me.

The overarching issue with the story is that there’s nothing thrilling about it. There are no secrets held from the reader. Everything is revealed in an alternating point of view structure. You know the past as you’re leading up to the present. You know who the villain is and all of their thoughts and how they work.

I’ll be bold here and say it’s like we got the outline of the story with all of the hidden nuggets that normally a reader enjoys trying to find out.

It’s a gas lighting, loser, jerk of a guy pulling the hood over multiple women. And maybe it’s anti-feminist to say this out loud, but at some point, I felt at times the women deserved it? They let this guy just come into their lives and ruin it. He was very open on what he was trying to do. This caused me to have no empathy for the women characters. Which in hindsight, I think you need to enjoy this book.

The ending felt completely out of place. It felt just a mismatch, maybe rushed, not thrilling or interesting at all.

While jotting down my thoughts here, I’m wondering if three stars is generous rating.

The writing was still well done. I am still a huge Lisa Jewell fan. If this is your first time reading Jewell, I’d put down this book immediately and pick up one of her older books. I would not recommend this for my friends.

When I discovered that a new Lisa Jewell book was being released, I was ecstatic. I had to read it as soon as possible, and once again, she did not disappoint. But then again, does she ever truly let her readers down? She has a remarkable ability to keep her audience on the edge of their seats.

With that being said, I couldn't put this book down. The chapters were concise, and the multiple narratives kept me engaged. I was eager to discover what would happen next and which character would take the spotlight. Despite there being so many characters, the story was excellently crafted in a way that the reader never becomes confused by the number of characters. Instead it adds an extra layer to the complexity of the story. In the end, everything comes full circle.

Just when I thought this book was solely going to be about a man living multiple lives, it took the dark turn I was hoping for. The conclusion was exactly what I had hoped for, but the final twist truly caught me by surprise!

If I didn't already have trust issues, I certainly would now. However, I could never allow someone to ghost me to that extent and still remain in my life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book; it kept me on my toes, and I stayed up far too late to keep reading. And for a sleepy girl who can't stay awake, that's huge!

Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite thriller authors, but something about this one missed the mark for me. I felt that there were too many characters and viewpoints. I got lost at times and had to go back to double-check what I was reading. I thought the plot idea was interesting, and she did that well. It was very easy not to like these characters, which I think was the whole point. I did enjoy the ending as well, but I wanted a little more. It felt like too much of a slow build for me, and I found myself getting bored while reading. I did like the short chapters, but overall, this one didn't stand out to me. Thank you to Atria Books for the ARC to read and review!

My favorite Lisa Jewell book to date.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an advanced digital copy of this highly anticipated nov

Solid 5 stars from me! This is hands down my favorite Lisa Jewell book (and I've read a lot). This had me hooked from the very beginning. Sometimes it got a bit tricky trying to keep track of all the different alias's and characters within the book, but it never took away from my enjoyment. I liked the writing style and short chapters, and I cannot wait to listen to this as an audiobook.

Hello, and welcome to my consistently disappointed thriller reviews!

I understand the fact that the point of this thriller was to emphasize the manipulation that takes place, but I felt that it was SO overdone. So repetitive. The story felt like it was longer than it needed to be. As a lover of alternating POVs and timelines, I found that the alternating timelines in this one actually confused me. It took me a bit to figure out whose POV that particular time was from. There was also a part of the plot that didn’t make sense to me.

I was SO excited to get the opportunity to read Lisa Jewell’s newest novel before its publication! I’ve read many of her books and always find them twisty and engaging. This one was less of a thriller and more of a domestic/psychological suspense with some mystery.

There were a lot of characters in this novel and it took some time to wrap my head around all of them, the jumping timelines, and their intertwining plots. A lot of the characters are very aggravating and I found myself saying “oh for f’s sake!” more than once. It’s truly alarming how the characters portrayed as “smart” could become so vulnerable in the right situations! Although a bit confusing at times, I’m glad I stuck with it because it all comes together in the end. Unlike some of her other novels, this one will not leave you scratching your head with its ending!

Thank you to Atria Books, NetGalley & Lisa Jewell for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. Publication date June 24, 2025.

How well do you truly know someone? For the women in Nick Radcliffe's life, he is an attentive partner, a workaholic, and a charming gentleman. And everything that they think they know about him is a lie.

I have read a number of Lisa Jewell's books over the years, and I really enjoy her way of gripping you into her stories and pulling the rug out from underneath you in the end. Unfortunately for this one, the pacing of the storyline was a touch too slow and repetitive for me. I also became unnerved by the sheer amount of ways Nick was able to juggle all of these women with such flimsy excuses and horrible behaviors. By the time the story came together in the end, it felt rushed and predictable.

Many thanks to Atria Books, NetGalley, and Lisa Jewell for providing me with a digital review copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Don’t Let Him In is a gripping, layered thriller that pulled me in from the first chapter. Lisa Jewell masterfully builds suspense through the perspectives of three women connected by one disturbingly charming man. I had a bad feeling about Nick early on, and watching that suspicion unfold was both frustrating and fascinating and in the best way.

I loved the protective instincts of Ash and Emma. Their intuition and concern added emotional depth and made the story feel all the more real. While I initially wasn’t sure how I felt about the ending, it ended up being the perfect conclusion.

The pacing kept me engaged throughout, with tension building steadily as the connections between characters deepened. Don’t Let Him In is a chilling reminder that charm can be dangerous, masks can hide monstrous truths, and intuition should never be ignored.

Lisa Jewell is an auto-buy author for me. I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually didn’t enjoy her last release. I’m not sure if it was a reading slump or something else, it just didn’t hit the way it did for others.

That said, I’m so happy to report that I loved this one! I couldn’t put it down. I was constantly trying to piece everything together, flipping back through the pages to keep up with the different timelines. It was such an enjoyable read, and the ending really worked for me. I can’t wait to have this one on my shelf when it comes out on June 24!

I received an arc of this and had high hopes, because None of This is True was so captivating. Overall it was 3.5 stars. I was interested but I felt like there was no huge plot twist. It was all predictable

3.5⭐️

Nick Radcliffe hadls lived many different lives, with many different women, over the course of his life. All the while being the perfect husband, perfect father, perfect man. . .and a total swindler.

I liked the idea of this book, but because there were so many characters involved, because he screwed over so many different women. . .it felt like it took too long to get to the point where they started to meet and put the pieces together that Nick/Al/Jonathan and more isn't who he says he is. Because he did the similar things to each of them, it seemed really repetitive.

The last 15-20% of the book is where most of the action was, but at times, it felt like a task to get there.
