I really enjoyed this story! I love how Lisa was able to tie all the females together at the end to catch Nick out in a lie. Even though we suspected and knew he was a swindler I still loved going on the journey with all the women and how he messed them up. And to find out he could actually be violent and a killer too was shocking!

Yesssss Lisa!!! Jewell is an auto-buy/auto-read author for me so when the opportunity came to ARC read her newest novel - I pounced on it!! I’m a huge fan of multi-pov and having to keep track of overlapping timelines and details - this book was full of it!! I would say this is a borderline thriller and more of a mystery novel but still really entertaining. Without giving too much away, you’re following the stories of 3 women who are all conned by the same man but each knows him by a different name. Does he get away with it in the end? I guess you’ll have to find out!

Big big thanks to Atria Books & Lisa for the opportunity to read this early! I’m leaving this review voluntarily🖤

Loved this one so much! Kept me on my toes. Keeping things straight in the beginning was a bit tough but you catch on to the story lines quickly

ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED!!! I could not put this down. I'm a huge Lise Jewell fan and Don't Let Him In did not disappoint.

What made this a hit:
-Scammer story. One of my all time favorite tropes EVER. I went into this blindly and was literally giddy with excitement when I realized I had a scammer story on my hands.
-The characters! Sometimes in scammer stories, the characters getting scammed can seem a bit dense or ditsy and I find myself thinking "How can they not see that they're being scammed?" because it's so obvious. But that wasn't the case with these characters. Oh, Martha, Amanda, Tara, and Nina…..I felt so bad for them but not in a 'damsel in distress' way. Even the scammer (Al, Jonathon, Justin, Nick, whatever his real name is!?) maintained that they were intelligent and capable women throughout the book. I just felt sad that they had a chance at happiness and it was taken away from them. I also felt sad for their children (both the younger children and their adult children), especially the older daughters who knew that something was up.

One thing I do wish we would have gotten more of was Ash’s story. Several hints were dropped throughout about her background and we *almost* got the full story, but I was hoping to find out more about what happened with her/what she did. Maybe in another book? :)

The only thing that was a little confusing was at first I missed the '4 years ago' '3 years ago,' etc. at the chapter introductions, which threw me off because I could not figure out what was going on with Martha. About 25% of the way through I realized those chapters were the backstory of Martha and Alistair, leading up to present time, and that's when things really started to click. I think this may just have been because I was reading on my Kindle and the formatting with the ARC was a bit off. Other than this, it was addicting and binge-worthy! Thank you so much for my eARC in exchange for an honest review. I will add my Instagram and Goodreads review links closer to the publication date, per publisher's request.

I am a big fan of Lisa Jewell and was thrilled to review this.

As with most mysteries/thrillers Don't Let Him In it took a little bit to figure out the story and where it was going but once I did, I was sucked in. I appreciated all the twists and turns and found it hard to put down after I got into it.

I appreciated that it wasn't super gory despite deaths/violence happening throughout the book.
The main male character was absolute filth and I loved how well the author fleshed him out.
Having read quite a few of Lisa Jewell's books, I don't know if this is her best one(I was a big fan of None of this is True) but it's definitely in the top 3.

This is one of those books where the less you know the better. I read it in one sitting. Run don’t walk. Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC.

He’s handsome. He’s charming. He’s got major walking red flag energy—and these women are about to find out why. 😳

Lisa Jewell’s Don’t Let Him In had me side-eyeing every “perfect” man in a sweater vest. The story weaves Nina (widowed and wary), Ash (suspicious daughter with detective instincts), and Martha (a florist with baby brain and trust issues) into a taut, twisty web of secrets, gaslighting, and GUT-punch moments. The pacing? Fast enough to keep you flipping pages like your Kindle owes you money. The character development? Chef’s kiss—you’ll root for them, yell at them, and maybe even DM them advice.

Jewell’s writing is smooth, suspenseful, and just sneaky enough to keep you guessing (and gasping) right until the end.

Best book I've read this year.

Ash, who is still grieving her father, has red flags going up for her mom's new beau.

Martha's husband is absent more and more, sending up red flags for her.

Ash, her mother Nina, and Martha have no idea what is in store for them or how their paths are going to converge.

This book was so wonderful. I loved certain characters and despised others, and they were painted so well with the words on the page, I could see the action in this story.

Lisa Jewell is on my must read list now!

Lisa Jewell is back with another gripping psychological thriller that will have you second-guessing every charming smile and perfectly timed gesture. Don't Let Him In is a taut, multi-perspective page-turner that expertly weaves suspense, character depth, and that signature Jewell twist into a thoroughly satisfying read.

The story follows three women—Nina, a recent widow; her daughter Ash, suspicious and sharp-eyed; and Martha, a seemingly happy new mom whose life is beginning to unravel. The thread connecting them is Nick Radcliffe, a man who appears to be everything you'd want in a friend, partner, or grieving companion—but who quickly sets off alarm bells. He’s charming, sure. But he’s also unsettling. And slowly, Jewell peels back the layers of his polished exterior to reveal a deeply sinister core.

Ash's quiet investigation into Nick’s past is where the tension really simmers. Her instincts—and your own—tell you something is off, and as the clues start adding up, you can't help but hold your breath. Meanwhile, Martha’s story runs on a parallel track that keeps you guessing how it will tie into the main arc. The way Jewell brings it all together in the final act is masterful—tight, surprising, and oh-so-satisfying.

The male main character in this novel is the kind you love to hate. He's magnetic but manipulative, and watching the characters—and the reader—slowly catch on to his true nature is a big part of what makes the story work. There’s no overt gore or over-the-top twists here—just well-crafted suspense, clever pacing, and enough psychological depth to make this one linger in your mind long after the last page.

Don't Let Him In is a fantastic addition to Lisa Jewell’s impressive body of work. It's a thriller that feels grounded yet chilling, character-driven yet brisk. Whether you're a long-time fan or just diving into Jewell’s world for the first time, this is a solid four-star read that deserves a spot on your summer thriller list.

Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite authors so I was very excited to receive an ARC of this book. First I have to comment on how great of a job she did writing a villain. I despised the antagonist so much! There were times I wanted to throw my Kindle in frustration. I liked how the story was told with multiple POV’s and timelines. I thought it was a great read and it kept my interest the entire time. I do consider it more of a domestic suspense than a thriller so that’s something to keep in mind.

I love Lisa Jewell and will read everything she writes; however, this book in particular was not as awesome as her other books.

Mainly, for me, because I felt like a lot of the story was not necessary. It felt never-ending at times. It took me a lot to start getting into the story, but once I did, it got a little better. Slow-paced and different from other stories, the different time lines made it really hard to get through it. Like I said, I love her books and will continue reading, I just didn't love this one that much.

Thank you to NetGalley, author Lisa Jewell, and Atria Books for providing me with a free ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

One thing is for certain-- Lisa Jewell knows how to write a thriller! I'm rounding this down to 3 stars from my true rating of 3.5, but it is still a strong 3 in the sense that this kept me engaged and hooked from beginning to end. Her characters leap off the page, and this plot was SO twisty. I truly didn't know how this would all unravel, and even when I thought I knew something, I was still shocked. It's really hard to say what I liked about it while making it spoiler free, so all I will say is: MEN ARE TRASH!! This was an extremely terrifying read at times because it was just so vivid, especially the chapters from the male perspective. The multiple perspectives at the beginning were a bit confusing, and I wish that it would have been better explained from the start rather than just waiting to things to unveil as the book went on. I also think there were some plot aspects that were more melodramatic than I would have preferred because I think that the book was strong enough in other ways to do without such things like <spoiler> Alistair being a sex worker and it not being mentioned randomly until over halfway through??</spoiler>. I also wish more would have been focused on Ash and the drama of what happened to her before moving back in with her parents because that ended up being a big thing and yet I didn't feel like the story really reflected on that enough. I did really love Ash being the one to tie everything together, as Jewell can write such vivid characters and Ash was no exception. Overall, I still really enjoyed this read and couldn't put it down; I just had enough minor things that annoyed me to where they added up as a whole.

I love Lisa Jewell, and I usually give her books 4 or 5 (much deserved) stars, but this one was just not my cup of tea. I almost DNFed this multiple times and only didn't because I wanted to see what ended up happening. It took me forever to even get into the story, and even longer to realize the man being talked about in 3 different timelines was the same one. Once I did, it got moderately more interesting.

I hated this main character, hated everything he did and said and didn't honestly care what was going to happen to him. I cared more about Martha and Nina and Ainsley and was desperately rooting for them to make it out relatively unscathed.

When he killed his wife, I was 100% certain he was never going to get caught and I almost gave up AGAIN on finishing the book. I'm glad I stuck with it, because the twists at the very end and the fact that he finally got his comeuppance are the only thing that made me give this 3 stars and not a shaky 2.

This is my second book by Lisa Jewell and this one did not hit for me. I feel like most of the book could’ve been shortened because it took forever to get to the “thriller” portion of the book. I was more confused from the back and forth jumping between past and present. It honestly didn’t feel like a thriller to me. It was more of just following Nick around with his many different lives and lies. I DNF this book, but maybe I’ll give it another try at a later date. I did like that the daughter knew something was off with him and wanted to protect her mother even know she didn’t want to believe her. I would’ve done the same thing if it was my mom.

I have to premise this review by saying that I'm a HUGE Lisa Jewel fan. I eat up her words and her crazy stories. Don't Let Him In was definitely crazy and told from multiple POVs. But I just couldn't say I loved it. I loathed Nick (the male main character? Protagonist? Antagonist?). Whatever he was, I was not a fan. The lies and deception made the story. But at what cost? The women he deceived and their sanity? Their lives? Their families? I don't know. I just got frustrated time and time again and felt like not much was happening, although everything was happening.
Around 85% in, we finally get everything coming full circle and truths were laid out for the women that were lied to for so long.

Overall, this story was not for me, but it will be for plenty of others. If you're a Jewel fan, you will like her multiple POVs and the way the women all come together to get vengeance. But for me, it was too little too late and the ending kinda pissed me off. I really wanted to throw my kindle and wanted to strangle a few characters. BUT, if it elicited that kind of emotions in me, maybe Lisa Jewel did her job.
Well, written but the story itself frustrated me.

Wow!! I wasn't sure what I expected, but this book blew me away!!

When one man decides that everything he's ever been given to him in his life isn't enough, to what lengths will he go to get what he deems is his?

Nina Swann just lost her husband, the famous restaurant owner, Party Swann. Now she's left with her two grown kids and grieving. But not everything was roses in her marriage. Now with her daughter, Ash, living back home again after a mental illness breakdown, Nina needs more than grieving. When a condolence letter arrives from an "old friend" of her dad's, Ash is suspicious because the man sent along a lighter that he claimed was Paddy's. Now Nick Ratcliffe is around her home a lot, making himself a bit too comfortable there. slash does some detective work about the mysterious man.

Martha owns a florist shop. Her husband Al travels too much or work and is never around. But when money goes missing she starts a search that she never thought would end up the way it did.

Multiple marriages, children, debts, you name it, he's done it.

*I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Don't Let Him In is a domestic thriller about a terrible and very manipulative man. The story kept my attention throughout, and I thought the ending was very satisfying.
However I was a bit disappointed with the plot, and was hoping for something more unique. But overall, I really enjoyed this suspenseful and entertaining story.

Don't Let Him in is my 14th read by Lisa Jewell. So even though Don't Let Me In isn't my favorite by Lisa Jewell, I will continue to read whatever else she writes.

Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell will be available on June 24. Many thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for the gifted copy!

I very much enjoyed this book. Took me a minute to get into the timeline of it, but once I got a few chapters in it started falling into place better. Good story line and characters I both liked and disliked. The ending was different than I thought it would be but it was still good.

Not the Lisa Jewell I’m used to reading. Several POV and timelines. Charming and attentive man is able to deceive women with lies about his past and their future. Moving from one woman to another until he’s unknowingly destroyed them financially and emotionally. Psychological roller coaster read.
Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

WOW! I couldn’t put this book down. To be honest it triggered me in a way. It made me angry. There were times I had to remind myself it was fiction because it really sucked me in. Any woman who has been manipulated and gaslighted (gaslit?) by a man should be able to relate to some of these women. I couldn’t stop reading because I was so ready for this guy to get called out on his bullshit and be properly punished.

I took away a star because I did feel like the book was a bit too long. There were some storylines that I felt were unnecessary. I would however recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers.
