Nina Swann is trying to move on after the tragic death of her husband. When she receives a note from Nick Radcliffe, the two connect and begin to see each other. Nina's daughter, Ash, suspects something is off about Nick and starts digging into his past.
Meanwhile, Martha, a florist with a young child, starts to become suspicious of her husband, Alistair. Once devoted and attentive, he now has frequent absences for work, sometimes for days at a time.
As the stories come together, so do the lives of all the women in the story.
Why Jackie loves it
Lisa Jewell created a twisty thriller with this newest book and I could not put it down. I also did not guess how the lives of the women would intersect. This book is a perfect beach thriller and Jewell's best book yet. Thank you, Atria & Simon & Schuster Audio #gifted.

As if I needed any more reason to hate men haha. Don’t Let Him In managed to double down in this feeling and absolutely hating men who take advantage of women.

This book was really boring for me, I expected more from Lisa jewell, it started out sooo slow and it was difficult to even get through. The plot was not even good. I would say do not waste your time reading this one.

Enjoyed this one- I love dual POV and this was my first experience where one POV was in third person and the other in 1st.

This book was crazyyyyy. I couldn’t keep up with all the women the main character was conning, all the names he had, all the children he had, when one marriage started and when there was overlap…I felt exactly how all those women felt when they were trying to piece it all together. Lisa Jewel will forever be one of my favorite authors, and this is being added to another favorite of mine by her.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance review copy in return for an honest review. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I really don’t understand how this went on for so long and no one realized what was going on faster. The pacing of this book was also pretty slow and it wasn’t even a great twist. Just kind of a disappointing read.

I gave this 3.5 stars. It was written in such a clever way and it kept me interested the entire time. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book was entertaining enough. I enjoyed the character-driven aspect of this story the most. You just know the gaslighting is going to be spot on with a con man storyline. Lisa Jewell definitely delivered on that front. The timeline jumps were a bit confusing in the beginning, and I think that's what made me lose interest in the story and I just couldn’t reconnect. With all the buildup, I still found this book to be pretty predictable. I definitely enjoyed the second half of the book versus the first half.
I feel like readers will really enjoy this story and Lisa Jewell is one of the best. Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the eArc of Don’t Let Him In.

Ash has lost her dad and all of a sudden an old friend of his is contacting her mom, Nina. Who is this Nick and why does she feel like something is wrong? Ash is grieving the loss of her person and has had some mental health struggles in her past… you’ll be proud of her strength and belief in herself through this journey to protect her mom.
This is a reckoning but it’s also hard to read. Trigger warnings galore for this one. @lisajewelluk your writing is amazing- the hatred that was sparked was intense. You had me locked into this ride and I hated every minute haha. There were times I almost didn’t finish because I was so disgusted by this cheating, manipulating a-hole but wanted to see where the women landed after the dust settled. That’s how good Jewell is at weaving her stories. I’m really glad I stuck with it because the ending was so good.
This is where ratings become personal. I read for many reasons but mostly to be moved. This moved me to hatred, as I mentioned, and that feeling feels icky, but also necessary. I hope that makes sense. So for those of you that like a tense ride filled with maniacal boy-man BS and a master class in gaslighting, buckle up, because the hits keep coming in this one!

Where do I begin? This book was incredibly disappointing. It is not thrilling or twisty or any of the things you would expect from a Lisa Jewell book. It was boring and a slog to get through. It basically just follows this man while he assumes different identities and scams and manipulates multiple women. Truthfully I just didn’t care enough about the characters or the plot to feel engaged in this book. I definitely would not recommend, don’t waste your time. I am still grateful for my advance copy, however, so thank you NetGalley!

Like others who have and reviewed this book, I was initially confused by all the characters. As the plot began to come together, it became one of those books you can't put down. Lisa Jewell is a master at spinning this type of plot where nobody is exactly who you think they are, the good becomes evil, and those with issues just become more human. Looking for a good summer read? This is the one that will keep the wheels turning as you read. A who done it of the highest order. Thanks to #NetGalley#Don'tLetHimIn#LisaJewell.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.
I was instantly drawn into this novel and was excited when one of my friends was also reading it at the same time. It’s always more fun to read with others so you can discuss!
I was initially confused by the changing timeline. That was entirely on me since it labels the number of years ago. Because other characters were mentioned there versus in the main chapters of the book, I kept wondering if I missed something. This was on purpose, however, and soon helped connect everything together.
I very much enjoyed the event that happened at the end of the novel (trying to stay spoiler free here so I won’t say much more on that). Be sure to read the epilogue — loved that but was surprised to hear from the person telling their story in the epilogue. I did suspect the other person mentioned would, in fact, turn up somewhere. Satisfying ending.

This full cast thriller was so addictive, I felt like I was eavesdropping on the juiciest true crime podcast ever. Nina thinks she’s found solace in a charming new acquaintance, but her daughter Ash isn’t buying it. Meanwhile, another woman’s seemingly perfect life begins to crack under suspicion.
Lisa Jewell masterfully weaves their stories together, and the ensemble cast nails the emotional tension. This one’s for fans of slow-burning suspense with major “trust no one” energy.

A classic Lisa Jewell novel which I loved. I liked how we saw three perspectives throughout the novel and I really felt on the edge of my seat the whole time. While I did not think this was her best work, I do think it was a solid read.

This was brilliantly plotted. Every angle was covered. Every detail nuanced. This was the most disturbing book I have read in a long time. This man of many names learns how to push and push until a woman’s defenses are breached and then he is in to wreak havoc upon her life and everything in it. And he does, and he does, living a Ponzi scheme of loving women who he breaks and destroys. He is a weasel, he is a despicable, manipulating piece of garbage and yet they all love him.
I found this so troubling that I almost put it aside thinking better to leave it than to be further disturbed. But, I found that I could not stop thinking about the plotting, not by the man who often operates by the seat of his pants and his impulses, but by the author. Lisa Jewell has looked at this from all angles and covered all the bases and it left me speechless.
Thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for a copy

Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewel is a wonderful psychological thriller, that leaves you wondering what you wold do if put in each of the characters positions. The book takes you in from the first pages, and I looked. forward to reading it whenever I could. I have not only recommended it to friends, but also purchased it for my family members that love to read. My 90 yo grandmother is also loving it!
Thank you to Atria books for the ARC, via Net Gallery, in exchange for an honest review.

I found the beginning of this book to be a bit confusing-there are so many characters and the book seems to jump all over the place. However, it does come together quite nicely in the end, even if most of the characters are unlikable and overly gullible. Overall, it's a decent novel by Lisa Jewell, but not one of my favorites of hers.

I expected more, something different or new.
The story isn't easy to follow, there are too many characters and stories to keep track off.
Every single character pissed me off!
I don't know what it was about this book, but it wasn't for me. I didn't feel the thrill or the mystery.
The ending fell flat too.. I don't know... I wish it had gone in different direction.

A gripping twisted thriller-- I love Lisa Jewell, and this one didn't disappoint. While some may critique the portrayal of women as gullible, I think it's totally plausible given the amount of romance scams around in the current day and age. I did have questions about the ending (how did he get there ? ) but overall I really enjoyed this read!

A wicked page turner! Lisa Jewell is a go-to thriller writer for me. I enjoyed all the twist and turns. The ending was a bit muddled but still solid.
