Don't Let Him In made me have dry eyes from keeping them glued to the book so that I could find out what was going to happen next! 😅
I usually like thrillers to have a lot of twists that smack you in the face, and this wasn't one of those, but it still solidified its place as one of my favorite thrillers of the year so far. One of the main characters is despicable, and I just couldn't wait to see him get his just desserts. The plot was interesting, and the writing was easy to follow. The story was compelling, and I felt invested in the characters. The ending was great also. Definitely give this one a read if you want something engrossing and satisfying!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for providing me with an ARC of this book!

I read this as an arch for NetGalley. Ash loses her father immediately after losing her job. A year later her mother is moving on with a new man. Ash is skeptical of him immediately and starts finding holes in his stories. You’ll love this “At the edge of your seat” thriller!

3.5 stars
Lisa Jewell is a master of suspense, and Don’t Let Him In delivers on pace and intrigue. The story moves quickly and keeps you turning the pages, but for me, it didn’t quite hit the mark compared to her other work. Some plot points felt a bit implausible, and I struggled to connect with the characters—few of them were truly likable or memorable. It’s a decent psychological thriller, especially if you’re after something fast and twisty, but not her strongest in my opinion.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
I typically like Lisa Jewel books a lot. This one was just okay.
The main character is a despicable human being with one dark twisted secret or behavior after another. I didn’t feel that this was really a thriller, but there is some suspense as to how it would wrap up. You essentially know who and what Nick was from the beginning. Thank god for some of these women’s daughters had some common sense and saw it too.
Be aware, the chapters flip from past to present and are told from different POVs, which I actually like. They were short and easy enough to follow.
Overall, I think it’s worth a read,

That. Was. Intense! Nail biting action with great characters! I do think the mystery isn’t there; you kind of know what’s happening from the start. With that being said, it was fun jumping from POVs and I loved being in the mind of a sociopath/ psychopath.. gimme all the craziness! 3.5 solid, domestic thriller x100 ⭐️!!
Many thanks as this ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Atria: you know I love you!!! 😘

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC. This is marketed as a thriller but really it is about a horrible gaslighter who seduces women and toxic relationships. It also has way, way, way too many characters and I could barely follow it. I normally love Lisa Jewel but this was not for me.

This may be the most tangled web ever woven!
Thanks to one man, a malignant narcissist/psychopath/ sociopath, the lives of several women and their families are about to collide!
I'm not sure what the difference between a psychopath and a sociopath is. Does it matter? They're all bad....
Things begin untangling slowly after the death of Paddy Swann. Nina, his widow, begins dating an interesting man shortly after her husband's death. Ann, Nina and Paddy's daughter, cannot shake the feeling that something about this guy is "off." Should Ann listen to her gut or is she just grieving??
Lisa Jewell's latest book will have the reader on edge immediately!
You will probably want to scream at your kindle or book throughout the story.
If you love a dark, twisted thriller, get yourself a copy of Don't Let Him In!

This book could’ve been 100+ pages shorter. Man did it drag. It’s not that the plot wasn’t good, I found it unique. There was just a lot of filler, I felt like I was reading the same thing over and over. Not my favorite Lisa Jewell book, but I could see some people really enjoying it.

Don’t Let Him In is a psychological thriller about three different women’s lives intersecting all because of one man in common. I loved the multiple POVs and am always a fan of a short chapter. This book kept me interested from page 1. I definitely guessed a lot of the twists, but I still throughly enjoyed the story and the characters that Lisa Jewell brought to life. I would definitely recommend for fans of hers and anyone who enjoys a fast-paced thriller. Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for allowing me an opportunity to read this early in exchange for my honest opinion.

I quite enjoyed this book! I have read Jewell's writing before, and this is my favorite of her books. I thought that although long, the story was engaging, the short chapters really kept me at the edge of my seat. Although some twists were predictable, the story was done in a way that I didn't really care- I was mainly reading for the excellent writing and characters! So many powerful women in this book!
Thanks to netgalley and the author/publisher for an ARC!

I did not want to put this book down! I was hooked from the very beginning until the very end. Wealthy restaurateur Paddy Swann dies when he is pushed in front of a train. A few months later, wife Nina gets a fancy wrapped giftbox with a lighter in it and a note from a Nick Radcliffe stating he was a former coworker of Paddy's and thought she would like this lighter of Paddy's. Nina e-mails him her thanks and they correspond for a while before he asks her out and they begin to date. Daughter, Ash, likes him but feels that he is too good to be true. Ash begins to dig into things and the more she digs, the more she discovers. In a different part of London, Martha owns and manages a flower/gift shop. She is married to Alistair "Al" who helps out sometimes but supposedly works helping restaurants get set up, start running, etc. She works a lot and he is gone working days and nights a lot but they never seem to have any money. Martha and Alistair eventually marry and have a daughter, Nada. In the meantime, Nina begins to wonder where Nick is for days at a time when she does not hear from him. Martha is also puzzled by the many days and nights that Al is gone and she is unable to get a hold of him. Lots of twists and turns in this story and several topics that I have not run across very often. Overall, a great book and I highly recommend.
Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC of this very, very interesting book.

I was really disappointed that this book didn't work for me; perhaps I had too high of expectations considering all the hype. This is my first book by this author and I was in the mood for a dark, mindless twisty thriller and I thought those were her trademark.
But if you are a fan of this author or want to read about psychopathic men whom you love to hate getting their comeuppance, this book will probably appeal more to you than it did to me.
I had even geared myself up for multiple points of view based on other reviews, which usually doesn't bother me if they're distinctive. I read a lot of fantasy where that's common. But for the way it was handled in this, there were so many points of view, stolen identities, and time jumps, that it quickly became difficult to follow instead of making me hang on the edge of my seat.
After a breakdown in which she was obsessed with her boss, Ash is floundering at home having a quarter-life crisis. I did find her to be the most compelling character in the book and my interest in her story kept me reading. Her father dies young and suddenly, and a year later her mom starts dating a mysterious, suave man who seems too good to be true. As Ash begins obsessively investigating, she learns that her instincts are correct and this con man is hiding other wives and children. But will his victims ever get justice?
You know almost right away what his big con is, as he is one of the points of view. The mystery is in whether his victims will get justice. I was supposed to loathe him and I just felt indifferent about him. He was boring, predictable and so obviously fake that I couldn't believe anyone would fall for his schemes.
It was refreshing that he targeted middle aged widows and divorcees instead of much younger women, but also infuriating, because I found these middle aged women to be dull, insipid and vain. Since I'm 43 I prefer reading about female rage and strong middle aged women, not women who fall to pieces at the attention of the first available man because they've hit the age of invisibility. I want more representation of smart, badass middle aged women experiencing their second chapters.
I also didn't see the twisty thriller aspect that everyone is talking about; I found it hard to read about a villain that I found tedious. As a thriller I just found this boring and a slightly different twist on the formula. It became so convoluted that I found it almost forgettable.
So sadly this was not for me.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance review copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Don't Let Him In was a thrilling, rage inducing read that had me yelling at my kindle in the middle of the night. I could NOT with this man. I will be side eyeing every guy named Nick for the foreseeable future. LOL. Seriously, my poor blood pressure while reading this.
This was a wild ride that had me hooked! Would recommend if you want a book that makes you want to throat punch someone.

I loved this book! The various plot lines blended together seamlessly and make for an intriguing read

I loved this book! I screamed at these characters like I knew them haha. I really enjoy all of Lisa's books.
This one was a ROLLERCOASTER for sure. Honestly, might be a new Lisa favorite because all the emotions I went through.
If you're an avid Lisa Jewel fangirl like me, then you will enjoy this.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for the complementary advanced digital copy. All thoughts are my own. I actually screamed our loud when I saw I was approved for this.

If this book is not on your TBR... RUN! Fantastic book! The book is a little bit confusing during the initial few chapters as we get the the alternating POV’s of several characters, (indicated by a change in font) but once I had everyone straight in my mind, the story quickly became COMPULSIVE reading and hard to put down! From start to finish I was completely intrigued, with no less than dozens of questions at any given moment. I was fully immersed in the lives of these characters, both in the past and in the present. While there were some elements I was able to predict, I did try to go along for the ride without getting too far ahead, and I think this helped me to enjoy it more. By the time I turned the last page, I came away fully satisfied with this story and its ultimate conclusion.
Five incredible starts for this novel. This book was another jaw-dropping, page turner that delivered on every aspect for me. This is Lisa Jewell we are talking about here so I might be a little bias but if this woman chose to re write the English dictionary you best believe I will be first in line to pick it up.

I just wanted to strangle the male character and really, most of the women also. They let him get away with so much. I mean, hey why shouldn’t he continue to do what he was doing when he was getting away with it. I did not want to put the book down. A classic page turner. I normally do not like when there are multiple characters in a book, but I like how she laid the characters out in this one. The book is definitely like a puzzle of all these pieces (characters) and once you finally start to get them where they belong, you see the big picture and it starts to make sense. I recommend reading this book.

Thank you NetGalley, Atria Books, and Lisa Jewell for the advanced digital copy.
What a page turner!
After restauranteur, Paddy Swann tragically dies leaving behind his beloved wife, Nina and daughter, Ash—a charming Nick Radcliffe waltzes into their life.
Meanwhile, Martha feels like she has the perfect life with her husband, Alistair, their daughter, 2 sons from a previous relationship and doting flower business. Unfortunately, as of late her husband has been absent and Martha is determined to find out why.
The three women’s worlds eventually collide and they learn the a disturbing history that they are now a part of.
The POVs took a minute to understand but once I did I was absolutely hooked. Just disturbing twist after twist. This was such a good dark domestic thriller. I loved it!

One of the most intricate psychological thrillers I've read in a while. One of those stories that may make you look at the people around you a bit differently and with more suspcicion. Well written with intriguing characters and a plot that keeps you hooked from the start. Great pacing, I tore through this book in two days!

Oh how I hate this man! I finished this book in three days and couldn't stop thinking about it when I wasn't reading it. It was a bit repetitive and there were a lot of characters and story lines to keep straight, but it was still definitely worth it!
Thank you to NetGalley and atria for the opportunity to read this e-ARC.
