Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell is as you may have guessed - it’s another great read from one of my favourite thriller queens!

This fast-paced, eerie, and deeply unsettling read pulled me right in and didn’t let go. The plot? Completely realistic! The male lead? Chilling — I've listened to enough true crime podcasts to say with confidence: he's out there somewhere.

I read this while on a backcountry canoe trip (yep, in the middle of the wilderness ), and while the book has nothing to do with the woods, I was still on edge while I slept.

There are lots of characters — some better developed than others. It actually added to the experience, since it felt like even Lisa herself was doing mental gymnastics trying to keep them straight… just like the villain himself might’ve done.

A bit more predictable than her usual twists and turns, but still absolutely worth it — especially if you're into realistic, psychological thrillers that could totally happen.

Another amazing read added to what’s turning out to be an incredible year of books for me!

Would I recommend it? YES. If you're a Jewell fan or into disturbingly realistic thrillers, this one’s a must-add to your TBR.

Thank you to @atriabooks and @netgalley for the e-ARC!

I love all things Lisa Jewell and the premise had me intrigued. This is a not scary thriller, which is usually my favorite kind. There were a lot of character to keep track of, and it felt confusing. I think that was kind of the point but it mostly frustrated me and I kept waiting for the story to get to the point. This one was just okay. I can't wait for the next Jewell read!

Thanks for the advanced reader copy Atria Books & Netgalley.

I have several of Lisa Jewell's books on my to-read list but never got around to them. But boy, after this one, I think I might've been missing out! I really enjoyed Don't Let Him In. It really sent me on a ride with all the craziness that happens/happened.

Martha is a married mother who owns a floral shop but her husband Alistair keeps disappearing for days/weeks for work. As her suspicions grow, she unravels secrets and finds her life intertwining with other women.

Nina's husband Paddy recently passed away but she finds love again when Nick, a old friend of Paddy reconnects with her. Ash is skeptical about this new, perfect man in her mother's life and she deep dives into an investigation on who this Nick really is.

The story picks up right away and from the moment Nick steps into the book, there is no turning back -- prepare for an adventure and a complete web of scandal and lies. This book was entertaining and also so crazy that I found it funny but stories like this do really happen in real life.

Thank you to Netgalley, publisher Atria Books, and author Lisa Jewell for providing me with an ARC, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

This is think my 5th Lisa Jewell book and I really loved it! The way she does suspense is unique in a somewhat over saturated market and each of her stories stand out from the other which isn’t always the case for authors who’ve been writing as long as Lisa

This was almost a DNF for me because I couldn’t keep the MMC straight but I am so glad I finished! The twist and turns, the lies and the final rally of all the women! Jaw dropping ending!!

Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell is a psychological thriller. It follows three women who are connected by one man. It is well written and easy to read. This book was an emotional rollercoaster ride that kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not stop reading.
Another twisty, unhinged binge read from Jewell. I loved it.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

- my first lisa jewel book
- gripping story. literally didn’t want to put it down
- follows a few different perspectives
- a man is basically a con artist who lies about everything and scams women out of money to fund his other relationships
- you know who the bad guy is and the whole story from the beginning, so there’s no crazy reveals at the end. but it was thrilling to read how he scammed everyone and how his story ended

thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the arc!!

Took me a bit to understand all the different timelines but all came together at the end. Being american I kept being reminding it was in England due to spellings of words. Over all enjoyed. I love ashes character but I wish I woulda got to hear more about her “stalking” incident other than what her mom told “nick”. Love the short chapters makes for an easy read. I was excited to see they released this book at my local Barnes and noble a week early, which I purchased ❤️
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me the arc and opportunity to read Lisa’s new book. Highly enjoy a few of her other books as well.

In Don’t Let Him In, Lisa Jewell dives into a tense psychological drama centered around secrets, trust, and the quiet dangers that can lurk behind familiar faces. The story explores how the arrival of an unexpected figure disrupts a seemingly stable life, forcing the characters — and readers — to question who can truly be trusted.

I was really looking forward to this book, as Lisa Jewell was once one of my favorite authors. She’s written some truly compelling novels, and the premise of this one had a lot of promise. There were definitely moments that felt engaging and intriguing, and the core idea of the story had great potential.

That said, I struggled with the overall execution. I found the plot hard to follow at times and had to go back and re-read sections to make sure I was understanding what was happening. The pacing and structure didn’t quite work for me, and it left me feeling disconnected from the characters and story.

Told in multiple timelines and narrators, Lisa Jewell's latest explores the multiple lives a serial husband leads and how he cheats multiple women out of their money. There's Ash, who recently lost her beloved father and whose mother is dating the too-suave Nick; Martha, married to Al, who seems perfect but has started disappearing for long stretches, and the man himself, Like all of Jewell's work, I was drawn in by the question of why the man did this, as well as how bad this was going to get. I flew through this book.

Thank you to Atria Books and Simon Audio for the copies to review.

I love Lisa Jewell’s books; they are always a fun read, and the audio never disappoints. This was entertaining, and it sure did remind me why I am single, haha. This was quite a fun ride; each of these women has found herself in a bad situation and isn’t sure how to get out of it. While this does tend to go on for a bit and took a while to come to a conclusion, I enjoyed it nonetheless, and it was a very satisfying conclusion, mind you. This was such an entertaining read, and the audio only enhanced the experience! There are a lot of characters in here, but I had no problem keeping everyone straight. Definitely pick this one up on Tuesday when it is out!

Thank you Atria Books and NetGalley for the digital ARC.

I love Lisa Jewell’s books and I was so happy to get an advanced copy of this! There is a lot going on in this book. Lots of characters and timelines that I found a little confusing at the beginning. But, once I got further into the book it was easier follow along with who was who. I enjoyed it!

Don’t let him In is a suspense story in which we have mystery, twists and lots of tension. We follow multiple women, who are misled and deceived into relationships and their stories are tangled until someone begins piecing the puzzle. The plot is intriguing and rather realistic even in today’s world.

It has multiple POVs, which can be hard to follow, I wasn’t truly pulled into the story until 60% in when the pace started picking up. Overall, it was a good read especially towards the end when everything starts falling into place.

Thanks Atria Books and Netgalley for allowing me to read the ARC of this book.

In Don’t Let Him In, Lisa Jewell weaves a tightly wound web of suspicion, grief, and deception that pulls three women into the same shadowy spiral of danger. Nina Swann is newly widowed when she receives an oddly charming condolence card from Nick Radcliffe—an old friend of her late husband’s with impeccable manners and a smile that disarms. While Nina is drawn to his polished exterior, her daughter Ash senses something is deeply wrong. Quietly, Ash begins investigating Nick’s past—and what she uncovers sends a chill deeper than grief ever could.

Meanwhile, in a nearby town, Martha’s perfect life is unraveling. Her husband Alistair is constantly away on business, but his warm affection and consistent explanations no longer soothe her creeping doubt. As Martha’s suspicions grow and Ash digs deeper, their stories begin to twist together with Nina’s, revealing a truth that none of them are prepared for.

Jewell excels at making the ordinary terrifying, and here she delivers a sinister tale of charm used as camouflage. It’s a slow, creeping dread that explodes into shocking clarity—and by then, it’s too late.

2.5 stars

I love Lisa Jewell and as off the wall as her books can get, they usually are well paced. This one was lacking that - it was maybe too long? The main male character wasn't a good enough sociopath for me to be engaged in his shenanigans and Ash was just...bland. Martha was far more interesting and I wish we delved more into how this all happened and how he was able to accomplish it. I'm always down for a Lisa Jewell read but this just wasn't a fave of mine.. I'll be on the lookout for the next though!

i’ll keep this short cause i don’t have much to say. calling this a thriller is false advertising.. in my opinion. the characters are all flat, there’s nothing gripping or exciting about the plot whatsoever. the main guy is a sociopathic loser who gets away with conning women who apparently can’t clock his schemes? it was just too unrealistic and boring to read. the epilogue was arguably the best part, but i still did not care one bit about anything in the book leading up to that epilogue.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell. This one pulled me in fast. I was hooked by the suspense from page one. Jewell’s writing is smooth and gripping, with enough twists to keep my heart racing. The story centers on secrets, home invasion, and the fear you never see coming. Some parts felt a bit familiar, but the tension was handled so well that I didn’t mind. I loved how the characters felt real and flawed, which made their fears hit harder. If you’re in the mood for a slick, psychological thriller that delivers chills and keeps you guessing, Don’t Let Him In is a solid pick.

Thank you so much to Lisa Jewell, Atria books, and NetGalley for the ARC of Don’t Let Him In.

Lisa Jewell is one of my auto-read authors and after I read None of This Is True, I wasn’t sure how this book would compare. Yet again, Jewell had my jaw on the floor!

I went into this book completely blind and I’m truly glad that I did because I had no idea what to expect. It took my a little while to get invested into this book because I don’t usually love the narrative from the point of view of the “villain” or the unreliable narrator. I thought I had this book figured out from the very beginning, but I was wrong.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat and even though there were many characters and names and settings, it was fairly easy to follow. 5/5 for the latest novel from Jewell!!
