I love lisa Jewell. The only reason I gave it four stars was for the slow start and goofy ending. It was very suspenseful.

Not my favorite book by Lisa Jewell. But definitely worth the read.

I received this galley from NetGalley.

Thank you Lisa Jewell, Atria Books, and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in return for an honest opinion.

I was super excited to be approved for this ARC. Lisa Jewell’s books always have me on the edge of my seat. With that being said, this one was a little more slow paced than her usual thrillers, but it was still gripping and entertaining. Lisa really knows how to make her audience despise a character in this one.

This book is about the perfect man. He’s charming, attractive, and knows exactly what a woman wants to hear.

Nina recently lost her husband. He was pushed in front of an oncoming train by a stranger. After his death, Nick Radcliffe, aka the perfect man, wrote Nina a condolence letter. After that, their relationship bloomed,

Martha is a florist who is married to her perfect man, Alistar. They have a child together and she thinks their life is perfect, until Alistar starts disappearing and not coming home at night.

As these stories intertwine, secrets begin to unravel. The past and the present start to tell a more sinister story. Other women start to come forward.

And the ending… I didn’t see it coming but it was very satisfying.

3.5/5 stars.

Don't Let Him In, easier said than done! A charming stranger enters the lives of three women. Nina, a grieving widow is seeking comfort, but her daughter Ash sees all of his red flags. And for Martha, he is her loving husband who is getting more mysterious day by day. Their stories begin to overlap and his truths come to light. The man that they have let in, is not who he claims to be and trusting him can prove to be a very dangerous mistake.
A masterful Tinder Swindler story full of suspense without any cheap thrills, every plot detail feels intentional and diabolical. I loved the pacing and the way the story keeps you guessing. It was slow burning but tension building in the sense that there is always a fine line between vulnerable and safe and being in danger in intimate spaces and settings. There are several "main characters" in this story and every single one of them are flawed in one way or another and makes you question who you can really trust. The middle did drag out slightly, but the payoff is well worth it. The ending is unsettling, chilling and clever!

Nina, a 53 year old widower, meets a fabulous man who treats her like a queen. Is this guy too good to be true? Her emotionally unstable daughter, Ash certainly thinks so and sets about to prove it. During her investigation, we meet a lot of characters, so many that it is hard to distinguish them at times. Once I was able to get the characters straight in my mind, I enjoyed this domestic thriller and looked forward to learning how Jewell was going to close out the story.

Some readers might say the story was unrealistic but I disagree. We might be tempted to shake some people out of their naivety, but these kind of situations happen in real life every day.

Thank you to NetGalley, author Lisa Jewell and Atria Books for this electronic ARC

I love Lisa Jewell's books. This was no exception. Even if I think I've figured out what's happening (sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong), I'm still hooked and have to keep reading to find out. Loved it so much.

Lisa Jewell does it again with a layered mystery that kept me hooked from the very beginning. I loved getting different POVs throughout the book including from the antagonist. Each character introduced added a new layer to the mystery, and it made things compelling throughout. I also always enjoy being breadcrumbed with information tying us into characters' pasts, and this one had a lot of that going on.

Nick was a really intriguing character with his mysterious backstory and his sinister/charming attitude, but I will say a few parts with his story felt repetitive. That said, it didn’t drag down the plot at all and was easy to move past because everything else was just so well done.

Without giving anything away, I just have to say I enjoyed the ending!

Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for an eARC of this book!!

I reallllly wanted to love this book but I just couldn’t love it. I did like it, it just wasn’t my favorite Lisa Jewell book. I still am a fan of her books and her writing but this book wasn’t it for me. I felt confused chapter after chapter because it kept switching characters and timelines that I actually had to get a pen and paper and start writing down the characters and who they were. Once everything came together I kept waiting for the big twist and it was just kind of drawn out. I did enjoy that the chapters were quicker and easy to read.
Big thanks to Atria books for providing me an ARC through NetGalley!

Don't Let Him In, by Lisa Jewell, will keep you guessing throughout. While you may figure out what is going to happen, how it happens may surprise you. The plot was difficult to follow at times due to the numerous characters, and some characters had more than one identity. The point of view changes without warning, and it takes a bit to figure out where you are on the timeline and who is speaking. Once you get into it, you will enjoy the ride. I am a Lisa Jewell fan, and this latest novel did not disappoint!
I appreciate NetGalley and the publisher for providing the ARC ebook that I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

Didn’t love this one unfortunately. So many couples to keep track of with no real twists and turns. I really had high hopes for this one but it missed the mark for me.

Solid 4 star thriller. Kept me guessing throughout - really enjoyed the twisting narrative style. The end felt a bit rushed/info dumpy, so it loses a star for me there. But otherwise, another great one from Lisa Jewell!

Thank you to Atria and NetGalley for the eArc.

Reading Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell was an intense and unsettling ride that kept me on edge the whole way through. From the first chapter, there was a creeping sense of unease that never let up, and I constantly felt like something dangerous was just around the corner. Jewell’s writing pulled me into the characters’ psyches, making their fear and confusion feel incredibly real. I felt tense, curious, and at times genuinely disturbed—in the way only a great psychological thriller can make you feel. By the end, I was left shaken, impressed, and still turning over the story in my mind.

3.8/5

As much as I loved the ending and the story itself, the book was hard to get into. I was confused initially with all of the different points of view and had a hard time following it at times. Due to this, it took a while for me to finish it. Overall I would recommend the story, but would want to forewarn any readers of the POV switching.

Lisa Jewell books are a bit hit or miss for me. Don’t Let Him In was a bit of a mess. The story is told in three POVs . . . Ash, the daughter of Nina (a widow who reconnects with her late husband’s work colleague); Martha, the wife of Alistair (who has been acting strange) and Jonathan, a man whose life raises a lot of questions.

In the beginning, the book is a bit hard to follow. Jonathan’s POV takes place four years before Ash’s and Martha’s. But as the book picks up, it’s easier to follow along.

I don’t want to give too much away. But let’s just say the book was a bit frustrating. How could a man get away with so many lies for so long without raising too many questions? For this reason, I didn’t think the book was so much a thriller as it was a domestic drama with a very loathsome character. Would I recommend this book? Maybe. While the books “pieces and parts” were all revealed pretty early on, wondering how the book was going to end kept me reading. The ending was satisfying but the path to get there was a bit tedious.

Con men who use women for money are often in the news these days, but Nick/Justin/Al beats them all. This book is not really a thriller but the story of one sociopath and the many women he manages to dupe. One of the main characters is Ash;, a young woman who is mourning the death of her father and having to move back to home after a scandal at her workplace, Ash's mother Nina meets Nick when he sends her a lighter that he claims once belonged to her late husband. Frequently called the silver fox, Nick is in his late forties, has white hair and can weave stories like the most accomplished writer. The book goes back and forth between many time periods and many women and the story is often repetitive.

One of the women he is conning is Martha. She is the mother of two teenagers and a baby, fathered by her husband she knows as Al. She owns a garden shop and is used to her husband disappearing for long periods, stealing money and coming back with various stories. I didn't understand what was so attractive about this man; he doesn't like sex, is frequently gone, doesn't answer messages and is often crying and whining. Con men steal money from women all the time but most of them are short term romances. These various women stay with this man for years at a time even as he is taking all their money and often disappears. I can't believe not one of these women would ask for proof he is going for mysterious hospital treatments (surely there would be medication or doctor bills), owns a wine bar they can't go to or is taking care of a sick mother that just materialized.

I liked Ash quite a bit but the other women just drove me crazy in that they would accept his stories for not being able to use his phone for days, weeks or months at a time. There is kind of an anti-child sentiment here to as the women all seem very annoyed by their children. Everyone I know enjoys having their children around especially when they are grown and have their own lives. The end is well done and I wanted to see if this man would ever get his punishment. Not my favorite of Jewell's books. Thank you to Atria books and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for a review.

This book had the typical Lisa Jewell suspense. There are multiple storylines in this book told from several perspectives. I felt that it made the beginning of the book a little confusing, but it was all tied up nicely at the end. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend to anyone that enjoys a good thriller. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an advanced copy of this book!

The one thing I can always count on with Lisa Jewell is that she will bring us a slow burn mystery that will have you on the edge of your seat. Yes this story was a bit predictable but I enjoyed the journey. I like that we got the perspective of the antagonist and knew what he was thinking through it all. It added a fun layer to the mystery.

5 stars. Lisa Jewell is a mastermind when it comes to dark books. I appreciate her consistency in suspense and overall eeriness when she writes. I’ll read everything she puts out because she is incredibly brilliant.

*Don't Let Him In* by Lisa Jewell is a gripping psychological thriller that slowly unravels a web of secrets, shifting perspectives, and hidden motives. The story unfolds through multiple timelines and points of view, which can feel a bit disorienting at first—but stick with it! Once the pieces start falling into place, it becomes a compelling and immersive read.

There are quite a few characters to keep track of, but they each bring something unique to the story. As the plot deepens, it was fascinating (and a little chilling) to see Nick’s true mental state and personality emerge. One of the most touching aspects for me was the relationship between Ash and Nina—Ash’s fierce protectiveness reminded me of the kind of bond I hope my daughter and I always share.

And those twists at the end? Jewell knows how to keep you guessing until the very last page.

I cannot keep three lies straight whereas this man was having multiple families with a full blown past created for each instance. He was like a serial investor, but instead of giving money he took away money from each woman she lived with. I don't even remember what his actual name was at this point. He was a lying, cheating a-hole and that was it.

Women fell in love with this charming man. He was good looking, caring, understanding until he became enigmatic and the same women who were in love with him started to feel the facade breaking. Next thing they knew they were in some sort of debt or kept feeding this man and his little plans. One woman, Ash, was going to stop the cycle because her logic beat her mother's love for this guy. Ash took it onto herself to find who this guy really was and what his actual motive was

This plot made me feel like I threw my brain into the washing machine and let it spin freely in there. Creating a character who could keep all his lies straight and get away with anything requires a genius., I'm sure there are men like this out there but actually putting it on paper without any loose threads is Lisa Jewell's creativity shining.
