LISA DOES IT AGAIN!!! Forever an autobuy author for me, this addictive read pulled me and didn’t let go.

I am a big Lisa Jewell fan and was really looking forward to reading this one. But something about it just couldn’t pull me in. I ended up DNFing at about 18%.

This was a captivating book that was hard to put down! This book has multiple point of views and two timelines, but once you understand the characters it is easy to follow! I definitely enjoyed this book and it was a solid book. The ending really wrapped things up nicely and gave some vindication at the end.

Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for this Advanced Reader’s Copy of Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell due to be published June 24, 2025.
Nick Radcliffe could melt a woman’s heart with his smile – and he did – many of them, in fact. Will Nick get away with all his lies?
This had me hooked from the beginning as do all of Lisa Jewell’s books. In one way it was very predictable because you knew what kind of a man Nick was not too far into the book. But, finding out what would happen to him and how it would happen made me want to turn the pages as fast as possible. It came to a wonderful conclusion, and I can’t wait to read more of her books! Highly recommended!

Absolutely love me a good thriller! And this cover is perfect. I love a good, quick read in the summer time that keeps me on the edge of my seat!

I am not even remotely overstating it when I say this book was fantastic. The story is fresh and new, following a gentleman, named Nick, who is in for a very different kind of ride. The characters were so interesting and different from anything I was used to in a thriller, and the story was so well thought out and far more twisty and turny than I had originally expected. I absolutely adored this book, and that is not easy for me to say by any stretch of the imagination.
Lisa Jewell is an unrivalled thriller genius, she always provides something new, interesting, fresh and well worth waiting for. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing escape, a true page-turner in every sense of the word, and something that will absolutely grip you and not let you go until the very last page.

4.5 ⭐
If you're looking for a quick, predictable read with a dramatic flair, this one might be for you. The synopsis really doesn't capture the full scope of what felt like a Lifetime movie unfolding before my eyes – think bigamy, narcissism, and scams, all impacting multiple families.
On the **plus side**, it's a fast-paced read with compelling multiple POVs, and the ending felt well-deserved (though I wouldn't have minded one more chapter from the main male character!).
However, the **cons** weighed on me. There were simply too many characters to keep track of, the dialogue often felt repetitive, and the constant use of TikTok language ('main character,' 'lost the plot,' 'TBH') really pulled me out of the story. I also found some characters to be quite naive and gullible, and a few plot points felt random.
Thank you netGallery for the ARC!

3.5 stars
If you like stressful thrillers, this is the book for you! A man with many names cons women into marriage and financial extortion with his good looks and sparkling personality. But then he disappears for days on end and finds a way to excuse his absence. Several women fall for his act and then he vanishes without a trace to do it again…
Don’t Let Him In had a lot going on, multiple storylines and timelines at once, but it was easy to pick up on Nick’s fabrications and womanizing tendencies. He was really an awful man, and his internal dialogue was highly misogynistic. I enjoyed the sleuthing aspects and how the female characters put the pieces together. Some of the characters were unnecessary to the plot and made things confusing. Also, many of the details required suspension of belief, but I was fine with it. This one is a popcorn thriller with a decent, if slightly deranged, plot. The ending didn’t shock me, which I expect from an excellent thriller. Overall it was enjoyable but not her best.

Lisa Jewell is my thriller Queen- I have always admired how she has the capability to write off-the-grid sort of thrillers (plots of a thriller that I haven’t really read before). This one held true to the same pace, a man who comes along and scams women for years. The book reads through several different timelines and several different scams, and the current day where someone is onto him.
It was intriguing and had quick chapters, it just read a tad slow in different parts of the book.

I loved this book! The shifting storylines kept me fully engaged, and the mystery layered in by the narrator added so much intrigue. A really great read—Lisa Jewell never disappoints!

LISA DOESN’T MISS!!!! Another compulsively addictive read I finished in less than a day. A large cast of characters but so worth keeping track of. Yes, a few threads are easily guessable, but that doesn’t lessen any of the wild plot points. I loved this book! Will read any of her work anytime! Thank you for this one, Netgalley!!

Another solid read by Lisa Jewell!
I... enjoyed this?? If you know you know lol this was SO frustrating to read.
It's written in multiple perspectives (and timelines), which may be a bit tricky to keep track of but after I got a few chapters in I was invested in the story. The characters are so frustrating! The main antagonist of the book is truly revolting and I wanted to strangle him, and I continuously was berating the various female characters for some utterly foolish decision making. This did take me out of the book and I had to take so many breaks reading as I was loathe to believe that people could actually behave like this (but as a spectator it's always easier to say "I would never fall for this"). As much as I wanted to pull out my hair, the events really did help me to fully visualize the characters and picture what was going on. Funny enough, I think the main antagonist was the best developed of the bunch.
I would classify this book as more of a character study of a criminal rather than an outright thriller. It wasn't creepy, and while I was utterly horrified reading it, I was never scared or on the edge of my seat. You know what's happening and moreso are reading to see how the situation is resolved rather than to uncover a real mystery.
The only real critique I have (other than how much I viscerally hated the characters, which wasn't bad and was what I think Lisa Jewell was going for) was that the pacing felt a bit off. As we are moreso following the actions of the antagonist and his eventual fate, we see his actions over multiple times and to multiple people, and it feels very repetitive at times. I found myself slogging through the middle parts a bit. There are other storylines that tie into the main one which I think could have had a bit more focus instead of the repeated scenes of "man being diabolical" which would have kept the book feeling a bit more fresh.
Overall, I enjoyed this and would recommend this to fans of domestic thrillers and books focusing on relationship drama. For Lisa Jewell fans, I will say that this felt more similar to 'Then She Was Gone' than 'None of This is True'.
Infinite thanks to Lisa Jewell, Atria Books and NetGalley for the digital ARC of this book. All opinions are my own :)

Lisa Jewell writes my favorite kind of popcorn thrillers - they're quick and fun to read. This was no different! It publishes 6.24.25 from @atriabooks. Thank you for the ARC!
The MMC was INSUFFERABLE, omg. how did these women fall for this guy?! The twists weren't really twists for me - I had it all figured out and nothing shocked me (I'm not bragging or anything, I almost never figure out twists so take that for what it is) but I had a good time and if you're an LJ fan, you'll enjoy this too!

A great read!!! Loved the con man aspect. This has not been in many books recently so it was a breath of fresh air to read. There were a lot of girl names which come with the territory of the plot but it was complicated to remember who went with which story line. Enjoyed the read and look forward to recommending to others!

Don't Let Him In is a story about what happens when women let their guard down and lack discernment in relationships. Rather than blaming women, however, the book takes on an exploratory tone as it evaluates how scammer culture, pickup artistry, misogyny, sexism, and male entitlement present themselves in real life. The reason I gave this book four stars is that, although not every story will be as extreme as this one, every woman knows men like the ones described in this narrative. The book makes one question whether any man can truly be trusted, or any person for that matter, and the answer to the question can dictate the quality and length of one's life.
The power of this story lies in its honest portrayal of how women often allow men to take advantage of them in exchange for verbal niceties and puppy-eyed performances. It also serves as a cautionary tale for how entitled men think. The book is a slow-burn, and the ending was somewhat anti-climactic, but I think it was realistic and served the narrative well. The cast of characters is well fleshed out, and it's easy to keep track of who is who.
Thank you to the publishers at NetGalley and Atria Books for sending me an e-ARC of this thriller! The most chilling thing about it is how realistic the characters are and how common men like "Nick Radcliffe" have become in our time. Without being preachy or obnoxious, Don't Let Him In gently examines why people give men who display antisocial behavioral traits a free pass while undermining their intuition. We have all done this at one point or another, which is why so many people will relate to the experiences of the characters. Even though I know some people will read this book and think, "I would never be that dumb," the fact is that male manipulation of women's kindness is an everyday occurrence, and this book demonstrates why we need to be extra vigilant in our interpersonal relationships.

One of my favorite Lisa Jewell novels to date! My jaw dropped multiple times and I was engrossed until the very end. Another gripping, twisty mystery from Jewell.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this title.
Unfortunately I could not finish. It is so confusing. The multiple POVs were giving me whiplash. I’d go back and read chapters to make sure I was keeping up. There are too many books in that world to waste time on a book that I am not enjoying. Sorry.

My second-most highly anticipated read of the summer! Lisa Jewell had a lost to live up to after NONE OF THIS IS TRUE, and I thought that DON'T LET HIM IN delivered. This one had so many characters and plots that didn't seem to have anything to do with each other, except that this is Lisa Jewell, so you know it's all going to come together beautifully. I was hooked, couldn't wait to see how they all related, and was not disappointed by the ending. Pick this one up asap!

✨✨✨DNF✨✨✨
This was my first time reading a Lisa Jewell book and I’ve been dying to read one by her. Unfortunately, maybe this one just wasn’t the one for me as I had to DNF it. 😭
I really dislike having to DNF an ARC I requested, especially because I’m picky about what I request. I only request what I’m extremely interested in and most likely to really enjoy!
However, I am always honest in my reviews and I did have to DNF Don’t Let Him In because it was just dragging on and on. By a quarter way through a book I should be interested and I just wasn’t sadly.
I thought this was supposed to be a mystery/thriller but it didn’t have that vibe at all. It’s more of a domestic drama type of thing. Maybe it eventually gets there, but I couldn’t stick it out to see if that’s the case.
Thank you to the publisher for the ARC, this one just wasn’t for me, but I would try another Lisa Jewell book in the future. 😊
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a free ebook copy in exchange for an honest review. This book is expected to be released June 24, 2025.

I have a hit or miss relationship with Lisa Jewell and this was definitely in the miss category.
Too many characters, too much jumping around. It wasn't really a thriller in my eyes. Just a sociopath doing the same shit over and over to different women.
