This is the first time I’ve experienced one of these books via audio, and I have to say—I almost wish I had listened to the first two as well. The narrator was absolutely fantastic! She added just the right touch to make the story even more engaging and relatable. Her accents were spot-on, distinguishing each character beautifully, and I genuinely felt like she brought the book to life in a way I wasn’t expecting.
When I first started this series, I struggled a bit with the first book—it took me a while to get into, and I really had to push through. But I thoroughly enjoyed the second book, and now, after finishing the third, I can confidently say that I loved it. I can’t wait for the next one, and I know I’m truly going to miss this series when it’s over. In fact, I have no doubt that I’ll reread it at some point.
One of the things I find absolutely delightful about these books is how the author balances drama and lightheartedness. There are always these dramatic moments, but they never feel overwhelming or truly terrible. Instead, they’re woven into fantastical, emotion-filled experiences that make you feel everything alongside the characters. More than that, the author has this remarkable way of teaching readers how to respond to emotions and human interactions in a meaningful way. I have so much respect for that, and it’s part of what makes this series so special.
I wholeheartedly recommend these books to anyone looking for a truly delightful, feel-good read. They are warm, engaging, and just an absolute joy to experience.

Another wonderfully cozy fantasy from Rebecca Thorne, "Tea You at the Altar" pick ups on the adventures of Kianthe and Reyna after the events of "A Pirates Life for Tea". While still adventurous, this felt more similar to pacing with the first book in Tomes & Tea, "Can't Spell Treason Without Tea". You still have mythical animal companions and characters, while treason continues to be the main theme, as Kianthe and Reyna plan and get through their wedding.
I love this serious. It is perfectly cozy, and as a fantasy reader I absolutely appreciate the cozy books between the devastation that other series can and do offer. I recommend these books for all fiction readers, and especially for anyone needing a break from high-stakes and epic fantasy. The narrator is the same for book three in this series as the other two, and she continues to do an amazing job.

Tea You at the Altar is book three in the Tomes and Tea series, and just as cozy and fun as the previous two books. In this installment, Kianthe and Reyna are just days away from getting married when they become involved in a plot to overthrow the queen. I loved the politics, the cozy small town, and baby dragons. This was a fun and really cute read, with just the right amount of magic, adventure, and of course plenty of puns. The ending sets things up perfectly for book four, and I can't wait to read the final installment in this series!
I listened to the audio which I really enjoyed. The narrator, Jessica Threet, did a fantastic job giving each character a distinct voice and personality, so it was really easy to tell them apart while listen. I also appreciated that the audio was clear and easy to understand, even when sped up!
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the ALC!

In "Tea You at the Altar," the delightful third installment of the Tomes & Tea series by Rebecca Thorne, we reunite with our beloved couple, Kianthe and Reyna, as they prepare to take the plunge into matrimony. This cozy fantasy adventure is rich with humor, heart, and enough magical chaos to keep readers thoroughly entertained.
Thorne successfully blends whimsical elements like baby dragons and pirates with the very real pressures of planning a wedding, making for a fantastical yet relatable narrative. The stakes are raised as Kianthe and Reyna must not only navigate the complexities of their union but also rally their friends—old and new—to face off against the formidable Queen Tilaine. The dynamic of the duo working together highlights their growth as a couple and showcases their unwavering support for one another amidst the chaos.
What truly shines in this book is the authenticity of Kianthe and Reyna’s relationship. Their bond feels genuine, layered with open communication, vulnerability, and humor—qualities that resonate deeply. Thorne masterfully avoids the pitfalls of clichéd romance, opting instead for a portrayal of a partnership that feels real and relatable. From playful banter, including Reyna’s mint tea pun, to deeper discussions about their future, every interaction is layered with warmth and love.
The supporting cast continues to enrich the narrative, with each character adding depth and dimension to the story. The revelations and life changes throughout the book keep the plot engaging and unpredictable, culminating in a cliffhanger that had me practically shouting in surprise—it's a testament to Thorne's ability to create suspense while celebrating the joy of community.
Additionally, Jessica Threet’s narration enhances the experience, bringing each character to life with her engaging voice work and unique inflections, making it a pleasure to listen to. The vibrancy she adds to the story complements Thorne's writing beautifully, allowing readers (or listeners) to fully immerse themselves in this enchanting world.
"Tea You at the Altar" not only solidifies the Tomes & Tea series as a standout in cozy fantasy but also leaves readers eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Kianthe and Reyna's journey. This book is undoubtedly my favorite in the series so far, and I find myself counting down the days until the next installment. If you haven’t yet ventured into the world of Kianthe and Reyna, now is the perfect time to dive into their enchanting escapades.

This was such a wonderful installment in the Tomes and Tea series. It was nice seeing Kianthe and Reyna back in Tawney. As interesting as their adventures across the continent were I love their friends and neighbors and missed them.
Preparing for their wedding, babysitting baby dragons... planning a coup... is there nothing these two can't do?
The stakes get a little high with the jaw dropping ending and I can not wait to see what the next book throws at them!

4.5★
Tea You At The Altar by Rebecca Thorne is a cozy pirate fantasy that is full of beautiful love, dragons, and puns.
Looking for a novel that makes a risky political plot cozy and cute? This is that book! Somehow Rebecca Throne was able to achieve it beautifully. This book has to be my favorite one because I love seeing all the world/character building throughout the books.
Just like the first two books, I wish the two FMCs had a little more distinctiness between the two. They seem very similar (at least on audio) except for their careers and one is more stabby and the other one more punny. But by the end both really became into their own person.
Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan audio for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I would be honored to review the fourth and last of the quartet once it comes out as an ARC.

A Fantastic, thrilling continuation of one of my most favorite cozy fantasy series by far! with brand new characters to absolutely love, and returning favorites, your not going to want to miss the wedding of the century! seriously, you do NOT wanna miss this. with so much more added worldbuilding, a new mystery to solve, a queen to overthrow, and a wedding to plan, things just aren't easy when your an Ex-Queens-Guard and the Arcandor. especially not when things are all starting to go full steam ahead with more than a few dangerous plots cresting over the horizon! with the narrator, Jessica Threet, adding so much life and personality to already amazing characters, this is a book you don't want to miss!

Thank you NetGalley for the arc!
Another wonderful installment in this series. Gay weddings, dragons, and political coups, what more do you need? Rebecca does a wonderful job of writing interesting, fast paced stories while still maintaining cozy vibes throughout. As always, this book is packed full of banter and awful puns, in the best way. Highly recommend reading, can't wait to continue the series.
I listened to this one on audio and also really enjoyed the narration!

so cozy and cute, it literally made me laugh out loud a few times! i felt at times the middle was slow and lost the plot A LITTLE BIT but i still loved the characters and overall thought it was cute!

THIS IS BOOK 3!! THERE WILL DEFINITELY BE SOME SPOILERS DOWN BELOW.
I would like to thank the publisher for sending me an audio arc in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.
Kianthe and Reyna are about to be married in seven days, and things are not going how they wanted. For one, they have nothing picked out, but between that and dealing with baby dragons and pirates and, worst of all, Kianthe's parents... the two of them are super stressed out. And when they stumble across a secret plot to overthrow Queen Tilaine, one where Reyna is at the center, they begin to wonder if they'll live long enough to say "I do."
So I want a baby dragon. Things I loved about this: I loved seeing everyone again, I loved how everything is connected with everything else, I loved seeing Kianthe and Reyna fight for one another at different levels especially when it comes to family, and I loved seeing all the characters (new and old) as we prepared for the wedding. Did this book drag on a bit? Yeah. Were there some things that happened that I was confused by? Oh for sure. But overall, I enjoyed where this one went and I'm super excited to see where the final book will take us. These cozy fantasies have been well done from start to finish and I would definitely recommend them.

The whole series has been a cozy, enjoyable fantasy with beautiful relationships between the main characters, them and their friends, the community they’ve created, and their families. I enjoyed this one more than the second in the series with the added complication of the queen and the secrets woven into that storyline. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next installment with the characters’ developments in Tea You at the Altar.

I love this series and honestly this installment might be my favorite yet - dragons, books, and tea plus a political coup and my favorite couples wedding. The chapter on Capitalism and Cocoa was also iconic

I really like this cozy fantasy series.
This is book three so we are back with Kianthe and Reyna as they prepare for their wedding and possibly overthrowing the Monarchy. We have some new characters coming in for the wedding, some old favorites and some terrible ones the ladies have to deal with.
It’s so fun and the banter and awful puns are such a delight.
I’m very excited for the final book and then to reread the whole series!
Narration was great
Thanks to netgalley and Macmillan for an alc.

Love a good cozy fantasy - and I really enjoy Rebecca Thorne's writing. This perfectly blends having interesting characters and a nice pace with interesting plot. I find so often "low stakes" can err on the side of dull but she is amazing at making things interesting and captivating the reader. It took me a little bit to understand who was new and who was an existing character. This was just a good time.

A sapphic, cozy fantasy, enemies to lovers, pirate story WITH DRAGONS. You literally couldn’t have fit more in one book without making it too much. The third book in this series is like Rebecca heard she was wrong for writing stories with queer characters so she increased their representation exponentially. I LOVED this! The whimsical story keeps you engaged from the beginning and the whitty banter makes the book just fly by. The narrator Jessica Threet truly has a way of making this story come to life in your mind. I am so thankful, as always, for the opportunity to devour this audio ARC from Macmillan Audio and NetGalley.

**4.25/5 Stars – A Cozy, Romantic Delight**
Rebecca Thorne’s *Tea You at the Altar* is a charming blend of romance, magic, and warm, cozy vibes. With its enchanting setting, lovable characters, and a perfectly brewed mix of humor and heart, it’s a comforting and delightful read. Though the pacing lags slightly in places, the overall charm and sweet romance make it a truly enjoyable escape.

With each installment of this series, I think I fall in love with these characters a little more. Everyone is utterly charming in their own way, from the pirate captain to the barkeep and his wife; and I love that Kianthe and Reyna have found their place among the people in Tawney.
However, in this book, we find our characters planning for their wedding with the usual hiccups such as planning gifts for each other, sudden arrival of in-laws, and possibly overthrowing the kingdom. Just another normal wedding, right?
Kianthe and Reyna may not be travelling too far in this particular adventure, but they are still trying to keep the peace within the family and in tawney, while trying to convince another surprise heir to take the throne. Yet, this new heir would rather pursue more academic studies rather than lead a kingdom, so the coup and it's council are scrambling to find someone they can place their bets on.
I think this is my favorite book so far and I am excited to see where we will go in the next installment. based on the way this one ended, we certainly will be having at least one more for our Mage of Ages and our Ex-Queens's Guard. I am certainly waiting because these are utterly delightful and cozy and I always want to grab my own cup of tea when I dive into the next.

Tea You at the Altar is the third installment in the Tomes & Tea series, bringing us back to Tawney with Kianthe and Reyna as they prepare for their wedding. With baby dragons, an evil queen, and hidden royalty, everything is building to a dramatic climax on their big day.
It was so comforting to return to this world, where our favorite mage and former queen’s guard just want to read books and drink tea (don’t we all?). This installment delivers solid stakes, and the ending shocked me. I can’t wait for the fourth and final book later this fall!

This is the wedding that Kianthe and Reyna are destined for. Thank you to Ms. Thorne, the publisher, and netgalley for the ARC/ALC.
After building a tea/book shop, taking on dragons (and finding dragon eggs), adopting a baby griffon, and partying with pirates, the Arcandor and former Queensguard get the wedding they deserve. Everyone is coming - the pirates, the diarns, the council, some dragons, and some surprises. As always, they have to use their wits (and puns) to navigate new problems while trying to make sure the tablecloths are the right color.
I have really enjoyed this series for exactly what it is: a fantasy love story with some action, some adventure, and a lot of fun. It's like the warm cup of tea you need after working all day, cozy and rewarding. The third book in the series lives up to the first two and invites a lot of interest for what comes next!
This was the first one I listened to on audiobook and the narrator, Jessica Threet , is wonderful. I enjoy the voices she gives Reyna and Kianthe because they just fit the characters in my head perfectly.
