Love a good cozy fantasy - and I really enjoy Rebecca Thorne's writing. This perfectly blends having interesting characters and a nice pace with interesting plot. I find so often "low stakes" can err on the side of dull but she is amazing at making things interesting and captivating the reader. It took me a little bit to understand who was new and who was an existing character. This was just a good time.

A sapphic, cozy fantasy, enemies to lovers, pirate story WITH DRAGONS. You literally couldn’t have fit more in one book without making it too much. The third book in this series is like Rebecca heard she was wrong for writing stories with queer characters so she increased their representation exponentially. I LOVED this! The whimsical story keeps you engaged from the beginning and the whitty banter makes the book just fly by. The narrator Jessica Threet truly has a way of making this story come to life in your mind. I am so thankful, as always, for the opportunity to devour this audio ARC from Macmillan Audio and NetGalley.

**4.25/5 Stars – A Cozy, Romantic Delight**
Rebecca Thorne’s *Tea You at the Altar* is a charming blend of romance, magic, and warm, cozy vibes. With its enchanting setting, lovable characters, and a perfectly brewed mix of humor and heart, it’s a comforting and delightful read. Though the pacing lags slightly in places, the overall charm and sweet romance make it a truly enjoyable escape.

With each installment of this series, I think I fall in love with these characters a little more. Everyone is utterly charming in their own way, from the pirate captain to the barkeep and his wife; and I love that Kianthe and Reyna have found their place among the people in Tawney.
However, in this book, we find our characters planning for their wedding with the usual hiccups such as planning gifts for each other, sudden arrival of in-laws, and possibly overthrowing the kingdom. Just another normal wedding, right?
Kianthe and Reyna may not be travelling too far in this particular adventure, but they are still trying to keep the peace within the family and in tawney, while trying to convince another surprise heir to take the throne. Yet, this new heir would rather pursue more academic studies rather than lead a kingdom, so the coup and it's council are scrambling to find someone they can place their bets on.
I think this is my favorite book so far and I am excited to see where we will go in the next installment. based on the way this one ended, we certainly will be having at least one more for our Mage of Ages and our Ex-Queens's Guard. I am certainly waiting because these are utterly delightful and cozy and I always want to grab my own cup of tea when I dive into the next.

Tea You at the Altar is the third installment in the Tomes & Tea series, bringing us back to Tawney with Kianthe and Reyna as they prepare for their wedding. With baby dragons, an evil queen, and hidden royalty, everything is building to a dramatic climax on their big day.
It was so comforting to return to this world, where our favorite mage and former queen’s guard just want to read books and drink tea (don’t we all?). This installment delivers solid stakes, and the ending shocked me. I can’t wait for the fourth and final book later this fall!

This is the wedding that Kianthe and Reyna are destined for. Thank you to Ms. Thorne, the publisher, and netgalley for the ARC/ALC.
After building a tea/book shop, taking on dragons (and finding dragon eggs), adopting a baby griffon, and partying with pirates, the Arcandor and former Queensguard get the wedding they deserve. Everyone is coming - the pirates, the diarns, the council, some dragons, and some surprises. As always, they have to use their wits (and puns) to navigate new problems while trying to make sure the tablecloths are the right color.
I have really enjoyed this series for exactly what it is: a fantasy love story with some action, some adventure, and a lot of fun. It's like the warm cup of tea you need after working all day, cozy and rewarding. The third book in the series lives up to the first two and invites a lot of interest for what comes next!
This was the first one I listened to on audiobook and the narrator, Jessica Threet , is wonderful. I enjoy the voices she gives Reyna and Kianthe because they just fit the characters in my head perfectly.

With this being the third book in the series, being back in the world felt like coming home to a warm hug at the end of the day. We return to old familiar characters and get to meet some fun new ones along the way. And if you get the choice please listen to the amazing Jessica Threet narrate as she is always a pleasure to listen to. I always wait for the audiobook versions of any book she narrates.
Rebecca does a fabulous job of writing cozy fantasy while filling it with enough action and adventure to keep you interested and engaged. Each book has posed a new challenge and this is no different.
And if you thought that a book about planning a wedding would be boring then you are so wrong. There are so many behind the scenes moments filled with action and fun twists that you will not want to stop reading. There are new magics and some changes to theology introduced in this book that will surprise and delight.
I love the varied rep as we get our first ace character in the series while also adding on an MM couple. The queer-normative world is so important in books and I am happy that this series embraces it.
I am looking forward to the next book which will conclude the series but will also be sad once they're done.

This series continues to build in a very well paced way. The characters are all so unique, and the plot of this book was an excellent balance of humor and just the right amount of tension for a cozy fantasy. I will continue this series as long as the books are written.

First, thank you NetGalley and the author for the advance copy of this audiobook! This series has been a lot of fun so far, with the combination of fantasy, romance, pirates and all the LGBTQIA+ love and representation. Reyna and Kianthe continue to be a joy not matter the amount of terrible puns (lol), and the community they've formed around them is really wonderful.
I was honestly surprised by the ending to this one and it felt like this could've worked well as a trilogy, but it seems we can expect one more installment that I'll be eager to read!

4 stars...first off thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this audioARC of the book. This is book 3 in the tomes and tea quartet and I just love all these characters so much. Loving the cozy fantasy/romance vibes and of course there are dragons and Griffins and pirates and lots of LGBTQIA+ love. No spice but it doesn't need it. Still a great story and the characters are all loveable. Got to meet some new ones as well. I will definitely be recommending this series for sure. Can't wait to read the last one!

The 3rd installment of the Tomes & Tea series featuring cozy fantasy and lots of sapphic love is just as fun as the first two, if not more fun because we get the addition of baby dragons and family drama while prepping for a wedding! And we can’t forget about staging a coup against the Queen! This series has been such a comfort read for me. The stakes are just high enough to keep you intrigued and dying to know what’s going to happen while being low enough to be on the cozier side of fantasy. I’m looking forward to the 4th and final book!
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review!

I don't want to say to much as this is the last book in a trilogy. This was the perfect end to this series. This was funny and sweet with a hint of political intreatment. The characters were just as amazing as ever and their bond is absolutely perfect. I loved this as an ending.

Firstly, thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for giving me early access to the Tea You at the Altar audiobook. Secondly, I cannot wait for the fourth book and am counting down the days of its release! Reyna and Kianthe's wedding is one for the ages (get it, ages, as in Mage of Ages), of course they couldn't just have any typical wedding, they had to set up a scheme to end Queen Tilaine's reign and begin the reign (iykyk) of a new monarch and era for the Queendom and the Realm. Tea's & Tomes has been a nice cozy escape from reality for the last couple of months for me and Tea You at the Altar continued that experience. I also really enjoyed the dragons story continuing in this book and not disappearing after the resolution of the dragon eggs from A Pirates Life for Tea, plus seeing the baby dragons! Another, thing I enjoyed we the reappearance of previous characters and Reyna and Kianthe also being able to heal old and past relationships and even create new bonds. Side note: the foreshadowing *chief's kiss*.
I would like to give a shoutout to the narrator Jessica Threet, I had no issue figuring out which POV I was in throughout the book as I was listening (something that is can be hard to do for me in multiple POV audiobooks). Threet gives each character their own voice, accent, demeanor, and drawl as they speak making them each their own (even characters that aren't Kianthe and Reyna). I have listened to all 3 books, and have enjoyed them even more with their excellent narration.

I enjoy these books when I am in the mood for a slower moving story. These are light on the fantastical elements and usually have light action and easy to follow political intrigue.
I love the puns, the solid relationship that Reyna and Kianthe have, as well as all the friends they make along the way. Would love to see more dragons and other creatures.
The narrator works for me because of the individual voices for each character. I am looking forward to the next and final book of the series.
Thank you Macmillan Audio for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley.

My favorite installment in the Tomes & Tea cozy fantasies follows Kianthe and Reyne as they take on their next adventure - marriage. If you enjoy punny cozy fantasy romances, with medium stakes then Tea You At the Altar is a must read! This fast-paced banter-filled story is an amazing audiobook that I think enhances the story in the perfect way, and brings life to the characters. Fans of Kimberly Lemming and Travis Baldree should enjoy Tea You at the Altar!

"Tea You at the Alter" continues Rebecca Thorne's charming fantasy series, though it doesn't quite capture the same magic that made "Can't Spell Treason Without Tea" and "A Pirate's Life for Tea" so delightful.
This third installment focuses primarily on Keyanthe and Reyna's wedding preparations, with all the planning and inevitable chaos that follows. While this central plot provides heartwarming moments between our beloved couple, there's also a political subplot brewing in the background that adds intrigue without overwhelming the romance.
The novel offers expanded perspectives from both Keyanthe and Reyna, allowing readers deeper insight into their relationship. Fans will be pleased to reunite with familiar faces from previous books, including the dastardly Pirate Dregs. Thorne continues to build her world with care, balancing the personal journeys of her characters with the broader political landscape.
The ending does leave readers on a rather abrupt cliffhanger—one that while frustrating, effectively builds anticipation for the fourth book. Despite not quite reaching the heights of its predecessors, "Tea You at the Alter" remains an enjoyable addition to the series that will satisfy fans eager to spend more time with these characters.

Tea You at the Altar is the third book in the beloved cozy fantasy series by Rebecca Thorne. Due out 4th March 2025 from Macmillan on their Tor/Bramble imprint is 336 pages and will be available in paperback, audio, and ebook formats. It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links and references throughout.
This is a lovely, immersive, well written cozy fantasy with F/F romance. A former royal mercenary (stabbing and slashing a specialty) and a high ranking magic user who's also a reluctant diplomat just want to be together, to have a cozy bookstore with a big fireplace, tea and baked goods, maybe a few little dragons (!?) and nothing is going to stand in their way if they have anything to say about it. They got most of their wish list in book one and now they're on a mission to save their hard-won independence and their town, with maybe a little treasonous sedition thrown in.
It's full of magic and world building and if the characters are maybe a tiny bit tropey, well, that's why readers *love* cozy fantasy. Inevitable comparisons will be drawn between this series and Travis Baldree's wonderful Legends & Lattes, and while it's true they share a niche genre, this series is not at all derivative and readers who enjoyed L&L will likely enjoy this one as well.
It's full of warmth and humor and the author is unapologetically LGBTQIA+ friendly, here's a quote:
"To the people who gave me one-star reviews because the first book "had lesbians." I doubled the lesbians in this one. Just for you."
The unabridged audiobook has a run time of 11 hours 41 minutes and is capably read by series narrator Jessica Threet. She has a well modulated voice and does a fine job of the disparate fantasy accents. Her voice is a tiny bit sharp to actually fade into neutrality during the read, but it's not at all intrusive and there aren't any accents that come across as patently fake or forced. Sound and production quality are very high throughout the read.
Four and a half stars for both the book and audiobook. Highly recommended for fans of cozy fantasy. There -are- some violent scenes with battle descriptions. There is some light sexual content/PDAs, but nothing NSFW. With three books out now, it would be an excellent choice for a series binge or buddy read.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

This book was the perfect addition to the series. The right amount of cozy and action. And that cliffhanger left me dying for more!!!

I've been excited about this book since I finished book 2!!
It was just as sweet, cozy and enjoyable as the rest of the series!!
There's a lot less action in this one and more mundane life which was nice, we got to see everyone interacting more and getting to know all the characters. With that being said there was still a good action based conflict which I really enjoyed! (trying to keep it vague to avoid oopsie spoilers since its book 3) As well as a cliff hanger that will have you begging for book 4.
These books just can't help but make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and they're great! A must read series for any cozy fantasy fan.
the audiobook was great, the narrator did a great job but I do think it could have potentially benefited from 2 different narrators since it could get confusing on whose POV we were at on occasion.
