I requested this book from NetGalley thinking it would be a fun little book filled with cutesy things to craft and cook with lavender for each season. However, this book is an extremely in depth manual about all things lavender. How in depth you ask? We're talking color, structure, MOLECULAR STRUCTURE, and cultivars for lavender and growing it. There's even a section dedicated to how to grow a FIELD of lavender, if you so wish. Now in 2025 I'm not sure who among us has the resources, time, and ability to grow a FIELD of lavender, but you know what, choosing to think positively I guess anything could happen. So thank you, Paola, for the guidance. Now before you're too put off there are dedicated sections to crafting and cooking with lavender and which lavenders are best used for whatever it is you're trying to do. I'm very pleasantly surprised by this all things lavender guide and plan to pick it up when it comes out! Four stars because while I appreciate everything that was put into this book, I don't think it sounds very beginner friendly (not that it claims to be) and I have been known to kill mint before and if you know anything about mint you know that's honestly a feat in and of itself.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! This book covers absolutely everything about lavender - from container gardening to farming Lavender, from planting to harvesting to using in food and homemade cleaning products. Beautiful photos throughout. Would make a lovely coffee table book but is definitely a comprehensive guide as well.

Thank you so much for granting me access to this book.
This is about my 4th time trying to grow lavender. After reading this book, I think I may have it this time! I certainly hope so!
This book has encouraged me to keep at it. There are many uses mentioned that I never knew of. If I can grow a nice harvest, I have some friends I now know I can barter with!
The book isn't just about growing lavender but what all you can do with it! I love that the author adds craft ideas & recipes.

This was a book full of great information. It was very easy to read and I would highly recommend it.

Thanks to Netgalley and Timber Press for the ARC Copy of this book. My review is my own opinion.
Will review on Amazon once published.

Lavender for All Seasons is a beautiful book, full of stunning photos. I can almost smell the lavender coming through the pages, both from the photos & the writers passion. This book is full of resources & even has a section on cooking & crafting with lavender!

As a huge lavender fan and someone who loves a lavender farm and visiting them this was really enjoyable. I’ve been wanting to add lavender to my yard in some way and this gave me a nice foundation to plan what I want to do and do it successfully.

Love the scent of lavender, and want to learn tips and advice for growing, drying and using the plant. This book does a good job on all of these, and the pictures were wonderful. A good and useful book, and one I would highly recommend.

This book is absolutely fascinating and so full of important information.
From how best to grow different types of lavender to what each different type can be used for. To how you can cook, clean, and do so many different crafts with lavender. The possibilities are endless, and this book is a great starting resource for them.
I am hoping to plant a lavender hedge this year to save some mowing time and to have different types of lavender to make things with next winter. It will be slow going, but I think it'll be a great investment of my time and energy for the future.

I initially expected "Lavender For All Seasons" by Paola Legarre to be a beautiful coffee table book filled with inspiring photographs, but it surpassed my expectations in every way. This book is incredibly comprehensive, providing detailed insights into everything from soil preparation and different lavender varieties to detailed profiles, proper harvesting techniques, and even precise cutting methods.
What truly impressed me was how thorough the information was, clearly demonstrating the author's extensive knowledge and passion for lavender cultivation. Whether you're starting with a small garden bed or aiming to scale up to commercial farming, this book covers it all. As someone planning to plant 50 Munstead lavender plugs from Farmer Bailey this spring, I wish I'd encountered this invaluable resource earlier. The author’s recommendation of Edelweiss lavender for hydrosol caught my eye, as I love discovering unique varieties that aren't typically available at local nurseries. It’s exactly the kind of specialized guidance I was hoping to find.
An extra delight for me was the book’s relevance to my gardening zone and region, Colorado, which made the advice even more practical and encouraging.
My sincere thanks to the publisher for granting my wish through NetGalley. If you're considering growing lavender at any scale, this book is an essential and inspiring guide.

Thanks to NetGalley and Timber Press for the digital copy of this book; I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I developed a love of lavender lemonade a few years ago, and I also come from a family that makes a lot of their own food stuffs, whether it's gardening or going to farmer's markets or mushroom hunting. This year, I decided to make my own lavender syrup for my tea and lemonade.
This book offers up a lot about lavender! From the many different types of lavender and how to grow them, to the plethora of recipes, I'm going to get a lot of use out of this book. The pictures are gorgeous, and the text is very informative. Recommend!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. Such beautiful photographs. I learned so much from this book.

Lavender for All Seasons - Paola Legarre
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow, this book has such beautiful photography and amazing detail, very informative and it’s clear Paola likes to share her love for lavender with others (that’s why I’m here) the baking and the crafts are always my favourite in books like these and there are lots of things to be made right here.
Can’t wait to make….
🪻All purpose Lavender cleaner! 🪻
I love the smell of Lavender and I stick by what I always say “Lavender is my favourite scent ever!”
🪻Lavender wreath! 🪻
I can imagine the lovely lavender scent throughout my home (I wouldn’t put the wreath on the front door as it would probably get stolen or broken by the local dickheads but not only that I want that smell indoors!)
I personally found the presentation inspiring and I can’t wait for this years lavender harvest 👌🏻🪻💜

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. This book is a lovely treasury with beautiful photos and lots of interesting information. The subject of lavender might appear niche to some, but this title offers a focused and in-depth look into every type. My favorite sections included the history of lavender and the recipes. This will be highly appreciated by dedicated gardeners and crafty folk. I have an upcoming program at my library discussing uses of culinary lavender and I will be sure to recommend this title to my patrons!

i absolutely love lavender. i actually have a tattoo of lavender! so this book was so fun to read to learn more about how to plant lavender, harvest it, and things i can do with it. in the summer, by me, there are a few lavender fields and i love going there to harvest lavender bundles, so this summer i will be having to try some of the cooking and craft recipes💜

If you’ve ever wished your life smelled like a dreamy lavender field year-round, Lavender for All Seasons is here to make that dream a reality! This book is like a warm cup of tea on a cozy afternoon—it’s packed with delightful ways to infuse every season with the calming, floral magic of lavender.
From refreshing summer spritzers to comforting winter sachets, the book walks you through fun and practical ways to use lavender beyond just stuffing it in a sachet and hoping for the best. The recipes and DIY projects are easy to follow, and the photos are very pretty. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported to the French countryside, even if you’re just in your kitchen making lavender honey butter (yes, that’s a thing, and yes, you need to try it).
Whether you're a seasoned lavender lover or just dipping your toes into its fragrant world, this book is a delightful companion. It’s the perfect mix of inspiration and hands-on fun—so get ready to add a little floral flair to your life, one season at a time!

Good book but doesn’t share any new information on lavender. Nice to see a new book on the subject none the less. Reference/resources pages are lovely.

Okay, let’s talk about lavender. You know that feeling when you crush a sprig between your fingers and the scent just transports you? Like suddenly, you’re standing in a sun-drenched field in Provence, even if you’re just in your kitchen with a cup of tea? Well, Lavender for All Seasons by Paola Legarre is basically that feeling in book form. Also, Paola isn’t just into lavender—she lives and breathes it. Her journey started with childhood summers on her grandmother’s farm, surrounded by citrus trees and canning jars filled with magic. Years later, she planted 40 lavender plants in her Colorado soil just to see if they’d survive. Fast-forward, and now she’s tending nineteen thousand of them. Talk about destiny.
First of all, this book is gorgeous. The photography? Stunning. You can almost feel the sun warming the lavender fields. And it’s not just pretty—it’s packed with wisdom. Paola walks you through everything:
💜 Step-by-step guides with photos of every part of the process, from planting to harvesting to turning those fragrant buds into something beautiful.
💜 Super handy charts breaking down all the different lavender varieties—what they’re called, what they look like, how they smell.
💜 Creative ideas for self-care—think lavender-infused oils, teas, and even goodies for your pets (because why should humans have all the relaxation?).
But what really got me? This book feels honest. It’s not just a how-to guide—it’s a love letter to lavender, to patience, to the magic of growing something with your own hands. You can practically smell the pages.
🔥 Recommended if: whether you’re dreaming of your own lavender patch or just looking for a little botanical inspiration, this book is pure, fragrant joy. Highly recommend. ✨Releases June 3, 2025✨
Thanks a lot to @netgalley and @sagecreations for the ARC! All opinions are my personal own.

Lavender for All Seasons
Author: Paola Legarre
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is like a lavender encyclopedia! It lists so many different varieties of lavender with details on grow zones, origins, flower descriptions and more. Then it goes into how to grow, propagate and harvest. The author also features different culinary uses for lavender, as well as, different seasonal crafts including making salves. This is such a fantastic resource that would be great for beginners and advanced gardeners alike! Highly recommend adding this to your shelf!
Thanks to NetGalley, Timber Press and Paola Legarre for an advanced copy of the book. All thoughts in this review are my own.

What a lovely and timely book! I am planning to plant lavender in my yard this spring, and _Lavender for All Seasons_ has given me a comprehensive guide to planning, planting, and growing this wonderful herb. I have taken notes on the cultivars that interest me. I was shocked to learn that lavender comes in a range of colors, and the author finds a white flowered one to be the most fragrant!
Once I get my little patch of lavender growing, I hope to try some of the recipes and crafts in this book. It truly is a all-encompassing reference for lavender plants.
