While the earlier books offered clever mysteries and some excitement, this book leans heavily into a predictable and silly feeling romance. Molly’s charm wears thin, with her naivety feeling more tiresome than endearing. I enjoyed the preexisting characters and there were moments in this book I really enjoyed, but beyond that I was just uninterested in this story. The new characters and the central mystery failed to engage me, and the plot, I feel lacked tension or surprise. Fans of the series may still find moments within the story to enjoy, but for me this felt like a weak chapter in Molly’s story.

Fans of Molly the Maid will definitely enjoy this addition to the series. Gran's diary provides a rich and wonderful back story, while the antics around the sale of Molly's Faberge egg propel the story forward. Our favorite characters are all present and Molly continues to charm. Another excellent feel good work by Nita Prose.

I received an advance ebook copy of The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose from netgalley.
Thank you so much for the advance copy! I knew I had to request an ARC as soon as I saw it.
If you enjoyed the other books in the Molly the Maid series, you have to read this one!
Let Molly take you along on another mystery.
I very much enjoyed it and definitely recommend.

This series has been by far my favorite series. I did not see the twist coming and them all being related in that way. In the long run, if it wasn't for Mollys grandmother, they really would not have figured it out. When her mom showed up, I did have a slight suspicion that she might have something to do with it, but I was shocked that she was far from that.

4.5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group for the E-ARC. This is the best so far in my humble opinion of the adventures of Molly the maid. If Molly is involved and adventure is going to happen and this one did not disappoint. This book had more of the backstory of Mollys grandmother so it went back and forth and the way this book pulled at my heartstrings and the way I sobbed yes literally was awesome. I hope this series continues because it is so cute and I always enjoy Molly's adventures.

The Maid’s Secret (Molly the Maid #3) by Nita Prose. Heist, quirky characters, and last of series.
I rated this 3 stars.
Molly and Fiancé Juan Manuel are planning their wedding (proposal occurred in the novella) and still working at the Regency Grand Hotel. An antiques reality show is being filmed in the grand ballroom and Mr. Snow allows the staff to big in personal items to get appraised for the event. Molly brings several trinkets of Gran’s, including the Faberge Egg. Upon appraisal Molly finds it is authentic and worth millions of dollars. When the egg is stolen and Molly’s life is threatened, Detective Stark and hotel staff are on the case to help solve the mystery.
As Molly reads through Gran’s diary we are thrown back into the past to understand Gran and her riches-to-rags story. Definitely more of balance between Flora (Gran) and Molly, instead of just Molly and her day to day. Which was not my favorite but also necessary to help fill in some gaps from the prior books.
The ending was a great wrap up of the series and very heartfelt. Not my favorite of the series but still a great end to the trilogy. Overall I recommend for people to read this final installment even if it is just for the last few chapters.
Thank you, NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

The way I really enjoyed reading about Molly the maid! This series is so cozy to me. Every time I start a new one, I want to curl up in my reading chair with a hot cup of tea. This one was no different. I finished it in 3 days! Having Molly’s grandmother’s diary entries were a great addition to the story. I wondered about her grandmother’s past and what led her to being the sole guardian of Molly. This was an enjoyable, cozy mystery!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Molly the Maid fans rejoice- the third installment! Fans of the series will probably enjoy the history of Gran and her past. And of course, catch up on Molly's life.

I enjoyed the format that Nita Prose used within this book where the storyline went between Molly in present day to Molly's gran's diary explaining her past. I felt like this really tied up Molly the maid's story and answered a lot of questions I didn't even know I had. I am not sure if this was supposed to be a final book in the Molly the Maid series, but I think it would be appropriate if it was.

It was so good to be back in Molly’s world! The Maid’s Secret is a charming, cozy mystery with just the right amount of heart and intrigue. Nita Prose has such a unique voice in Molly’s character—she’s quirky, earnest, and full of subtle wisdom, which makes her perspective so refreshing.
This sequel has a bit more emotional depth than The Maid, with more backstory, new secrets, and another mysterious death to untangle. The pacing was steady, though not as twisty as I expected—but the character development more than made up for it.
If you liked the first book, this one won’t disappoint. It’s thoughtful, warm, and cleverly plotted. A perfect pick for fans of character-driven mysteries with a cozy vibe.

Ugh, I just adore Molly the Maid and all the quirky adventures she gets up to. This is definitely what some might categorize as a “fluffy” book because there’s not really a whole lot of stake in the game so to speak. There’s not any spice, no beloved characters are killed off, and the ending is always happy. But sometimes, we just need a fluffy, feel-good book to lift our spirits. I will say, the “big reveal” at the end was a bit too obvious for me. When I was reading the previous two books, I couldn’t really say for certain who had done it. But with this third installment, I knew who did it by like the 60% mark. It wasn’t a deal-breaker for me since I knew what I was getting myself into. Still, just a bit disappointed.

I did enjoy this third installment in The Maid series but a large part of that was due to learning all about Gran's life and what stark difference it was compared to Molly's upbringing.
While I enjoyed getting to see Molly's story continue I didn't feel connected to the story or very invested like I had in her previous stories. The ending with the letters and learning about Gran's final moments with John broke me a little because their story would have been an epic one.
I do look forward to the next one if that is to come and would love to get another great mystery from Molly.

I have adored Molly and this whole series. Nita Prose has a gift for writing Molly's character. I loved how this book was set up and how you got to read journal entries from Flora (Gran) to Molly. Through out most of the book, I found myself enjoying Flora's story even more than the current day mystery around Molly's egg. In the end, how the stories come together and when you find out how all the characters are linked, I was amazed and delighted at the same time.

We returned to the Regency Grand to wrap up the story of Molly the Maid, and learn a little more about her backstory - and that of her beloved Gran. I thought that this was the perfect ending to the series - it was my favorite of all of the books. Each one has gotten just that much better.
In this book, Molly is ready to hold her wedding to Juan Manuael, but there are still a few adventures to be had before that event can take place! When a surprise treasure is discovered to be part of Molly's keepsakes, and she becomes and overnight sensation, chaos ensues! But her valuable Faberge egg, a treasured memory from her Gran, is missing and Molly must try to dig into family secrets and solve the mystery.
I thought that the diary from Gran was a great way of telling the stories from the past and bringing past and present together to conclude the tale. I highly recommend it! My thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Ballantine Books for the Advanced Reader Copy.
All opinions are my own.

I am a diehard fan of this series, but the finale fell flat for me. I think if we removed the diary section, I would have loved it more. I understand that was the key to the reveal, but it just didnt do it for me. Justice for Molly always!!

Another lovely installment for readers who love Molly and her journey. The story follows Molly as she awaits her wedding, but things are thrown into turmoil when a show decides to film at the Regency Grand. As Molly brings things in for the show to appraise, she finds that one of Gran's possessions is worth millions. Until it's stolen. Molly must figured out who has taken Gran's keepsake and why - but the journey to find it might reveal more secrets than Molly ever knew. This is a fun and sweet read!

Molly the Maid has done it again! Nita Prose is my hero, but what is new? The fourth installment in the Molly the Maid series wraps up the story beautifully and shows new insights into previously established characters in the series' universe. The story was lush and showed varied timelines and perspectives, with a diverse cast of characters. It is lighthearted yet emotional. I so enjoyed this and really appreciate the opportunity to receive an advanced copy.

I love Molly the Maid stories! It is so refreshing to see a neurodivergent protagonist in a story, and I find myself routing for her from cover to cover. In this book, Molly finds that she is in possession of a multi-million dollar Faberge egg. Just as she is about to allow it to be auctioned off, the egg disappears. Molly is left to solve the mystery. Simultaneously, Molly begins reading her grandmother's journal detailing her life before becoming the caregiver and maid that Molly knew growing up. Gran's story begins to inform Molly's suspicion regarding the egg thief.
This story, while certainly far-fetched, is a pleasure to read. Molly learns about her Gran's life and background while solving a mystery in the present day. So enjoyable!

Took me a while to read this, because I hadn't read the Mistletoe Mystery (the mini book that published before this). And weirdly enough, I wasn't the only one, because the library had it out for a while. I think Molly is so quirky, I'm glad that she remained this way throughout this third book. She unknowingly just revolves around the oddities that happen at the Regency. I love the Gran's words are (still) always incorporated in her mind and that she gets little flashbacks of her whenever she runs into odd situations.
I think this was my favorite book of the series so far (Previously the first book was my favorite). Because Molly was become more personable and she has real actual friends and its so heartwarming to see her character flourish and gain some more normalcy in her life to make it full.

Thank you, Net Galley, Random House Publishing Group and Nita Prose for the opportunity to read and review this book!
Ah, Molly the Maid, I have enjoyed and love everything "Molly" perhaps I can relate to her in small ways. My grandmother raised me as well and I can be a bit naive at times. The plot thickens as we find out so much more about Gran from beyond as a diary gives us insights from a different perspective. Character development came full circle as all the questions I ever had about her other relationships were answered. Thoughtfully well written, interesting but bit more serious than the other books and I LOVED IT! Bittersweet to think this could be the final chapter in this cozy mystery series. 5 Stars all the way!!!
