I loved getting to see Gran's backstory and getting to be with our beloved cast of characters again. I feel like I'm with family every time I read about them. ❤️

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

I’ve read the entire Maids series and while the book maintained the warmth and tones of the previous books, The Maid’s Secret failed to engage me in the same way. There’s been very little character growth through the entire series and Molly’s naive nature fails to charm.

Absolutely phenomenal. It was wonderful to be back in the world of Molly the Maid - I absolutely love to see things from her point of view. With twists you won’t see coming, this is a must read for anyone who read the others in the Molly the Maid series.

I was teetering between three and four stars for most of the book. I guess technically I would give it a 3.5 but bumped it to four.

Molly the maid is back. She is now engaged to Juan and they are a few months shy of their wedding. Antique pros Beagle and Brown are airing their show at the Regency Hotel and Juan encourages Molly to bring her Faberge egg. It turns out that it is worth millions. In an instant, Molly's life has changed dramatically. She's suddenly famous for the wrong reasons.

At the same time, Molly has been trying to figure out why Gran gave her a skeleton key and only told her that it was the key to her heart. What could that mean?

This final book of Molly the maid is half split with learning about Flora's (Gran's) upbringing and past. At first this was annoying me but then I actually enjoyed it because you really get to learn more about Flora and how her life came to be before she raised Molly.

My grandma also practically raised me between the ages of 2-10 and she was one of the most important people in my life. Flora had quite the past you would never expect and it ended up being a very sad one, but she always took everything in stride and carried on.

The rich egg was of course stolen, but then it was returned. First a note threatening Molly's life if she found the egg, and a second note threatening her life if she didn't sell it. What was going on?

While there was not a murder case to solve this time around, there was still a case to be solved. Will Molly "crack" this case?

This book definitely teaches some lessons and reminds you that "not everything that glitters is gold".

The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose is the third installment in the Molly the Maid series. This series is so unique and delightful! I really enjoyed this one in particular because the mystery involves an art heist instead of a murder. The novel has a dual timeline between the current day and diary excerpts written by Molly's (the main character) gran. I recommend this book if you love quirky mysteries with eclectic characters.

Thanks to Ballantine Books and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy of the book.

Thank you #netgalley!
I just finished The Maid’s Secret, the third book in Nita Prose’s series, and I have to say it’s a fantastic whodunnit with great characters and sharp, witty writing. Molly Gray, now Head Maid and Special Events Manager, is as charming and earnest as ever, and her journey—balancing sudden fame, a priceless Fabergé egg, and a looming heist—is both engaging and heartfelt.

The story cleverly weaves a dual timeline, revealing Molly’s grandmother Gran’s secret past through diary entries, which adds emotional depth and suspense. I loved how the mystery unfolds with surprising twists that make sense, not just shock value, and how the themes of love, resilience, and integrity run throughout.

The writing is quick and witty, capturing Molly’s unique voice perfectly—literal and sometimes naïve but always endearing. The supporting cast, including Molly’s fiancé Juan Manuel and the hotel staff, enrich the story with warmth and humor. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed it actually which was a bit surprising as this is not my preferred genre. I liked how Molly ends up with Faberge egg and what excitement and drama that egg brings into her life. My favorite part was how Molly's grandmother Flora's story is also depicted in the background and keeps the two different plots connected throughout. It was too cute with Molly being unbelievably nice person who was not greedy even for a single second. Cute, cozy and light mystery! It could have been even better with a trim as it was a tad bit slow.

This is the second book that I have read by Nita Prose and it did not disappoint, I really like her style of writing and humor throughout the book, I also appreciate that she keeps thing clean and uses hardly any bad language. I loved the plot of the story of the Faberge egg and how it ended up in Mollys hands. Great book! Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.

Molly the Maid is back and about to get hitched! It was great returning to the Regency Grand - it felt like being reconnected with old friends. I loved that we finally got more of Gran’s backstory and learned about how she became the woman who raised Molly. The mystery in this is almost secondary as there is a lot of character building but it was still enjoyable. While I will be sad if this is really Molly’s final hurrah, this book brings the series full circle and to a lovely conclusion.

This was a different story on Molly's end, but I truly enjoyed reading it and getting to know Gran and where she came from. The story of the egg was great and mysterious. As always Molly will find out in the end who dun it and solve her mystery.

Book #3 in the Molly The Maid series finds Molly getting closer to having her dream life as she moves up the ladder at the Grand Hotel and is only two months away from her dream wedding. But trouble always seems to find Molly. This series has provided me with some very entertaining reading as I follow Molly through her ups and downs and around a circle no one wants to be on. But THE MAID'S SECRET gives us a look into Molly's family history and the surprises she finds waiting for her there. Nita Prose keeps the story fun and the mystery unique, what more could a mystery lover want?

Molly Gray and her friends and family we have grown to love return for another cozy mystery that delves into her beloved Grans life before she became a maid.

All Molly has known her whole life is that her Gran was a modest maid who enjoyed cups of tea and watching Columbo. She shared nuggets of knowledge for a simple life without all the frills and helped Molly navigate difficult social behaviors while growing up. Little does she know her Gran has been keeping a secret from her about a previous life, much more grand and complicated than she could ever imagine.

I enjoyed jumping back into life at the Regency Grand Hotel and seeing Molly thrive in her role as Head Maid and in her relationship with Juan Manuel. I’m glad we had a big return of Gran through her diary and life story but I felt this installment lacked the pizazz of the first two books in the series. The drama with the Fabregé egg felt forced especially the weird heist and then return off the egg and the revealed character connections in the end felt rushed and incomplete. Honestly what was the point of her long lost mother even appearing? Algernon’s death was honestly anticlimactic because he deserved way worse and for a mystery, why did we never truly find out what happened to Mrs. Mead like who really killed her and why. There’s a lot of vague innuendos that leaves the reader with more questions than actual closure. Grans story could’ve been a novella and I wanted more for Molly the Maid than a lackluster half mystery. 3/5 stars - one and done read.

The opinions expressed here are my own. Thank you to Random House Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing an advanced readers copy.

I was so excited to read The Maid's Secret!

The Maid's Secret follows Molly and her husband Juan Manuel as they navigate finding out the worth of the Fabrege egg that came from Molly's Gran. Molly's Gran's diary helps Molly solve the mystery.

I have not yet read the other Molly the Maid books so there were a few things that I probably missed the background on, but I adored Molly and Juan, and also reading her Gran's story.

The characters were lovely and there were some sprinkles of dry humor mixed in throughout the cozy mystery.

I really enjoyed this third installment of the Molly the Maid cozy mysteries. It alternated between present day Molly and diary entries of her grandmother, Flora Gray, that explained her past. It was a good story and a quick and easy read. Thanks to NetGalley for the digital ARC.

I’ve loved the maid stories but this one was a little slow for me. I am glad i didn’t give up because the last half picked up and it was a great addition to the series!

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the series on Molly the Maid. I love how the author perfectly includes her quirkiness. This book felt like a nice wrap off of the previous books. It was an easy read and I would recommend to anyone.

The Maid's Secret follows dual timelines and perspectives to wrap up the Molly the Maid series. You encounter a lot of the same characters working through another mystery, with flashbacks to Molly's grandmother, Flora's past. I liked learning the backstory - this is really intended for those who have read the series, it would be challenging to follow if not!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to preview The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose. I have enjoyed the previous entries in the Maid series, but this was an exception. Most everything that made Molly charming was missing from The Maid's Secret. It seemed that all of Molly's quirks were turned up so high that it infantilized her. Additionally, too much time was spent on her grandmother's story, which I didn't find very compelling.

I am sorry that the final installment in this series wasn't up to the standard of the others. I hope Nita Prose comes back with another entry in Molly's story more like the first book in there series to end on a high note.

I've enjoyed the first two books in this series, but was not as enthralled by this one. The story told by Molly's dead grandmother through her letters was melodramatic, and less interesting than Molly's own story and her character as it has developed over the series. I'll keep reading, if just to see how Molly and Juan's marriage works out!
