Nita Prose has done it a third time. And this one might be my favorite! Molly is such a wholesome character that is impossible not to root for. I loved this one for the spin on the Antique’s Roadshow but even more was learning about Gran’s backstory. So nice to hear her history and see how it led to Molly being the person she is. Prose is adept at reeling the reader in and creating a character that you love to love! I will gladly read anything that has Molly and her sweet sidekicks in it...

Thank you NetGalley and Ballantine Books for the advanced reading copy!!
So sad to see this series end but what an ending. For those who have loved this series you won't be disappointed.

I was thrilled to get an advance reader copy of this 3rd book in The Maid series through NetGalley! Recently released (on April 8th!) it is the perfect continuation to the story of Molly the Maid. In this third installment of the series Molly can't wait for 2 big events coming up; her wedding and a live filming of her favorite reality show Hidden Treasures. But when Molly brings an item in for appraisal on Hidden Treasures, she was unprepared for all the ways her life was about to change. Told in alternating time lines we learn what happens with Molly, her treasured item, and her friends in one time while also reading about her gran's life in an old forgotten diary she wrote for Molly before her gran died. I loved it!

"The Maid's Secret" is a delightful and intriguing novel that blends mystery with heartwarming elements. Nita Prose delivers a story that captivated me with its engaging plot and charming characters.
Here's why others will enjoy it:
A Charming Protagonist: Molly Gray, the head maid, is a truly unique and endearing character. Her earnestness, attention to detail, and distinct way of seeing the world make her instantly likable and someone readers will root for.
Intriguing Mystery: The central mystery surrounding the art heist is well-crafted and keeps readers guessing. The book combines elements of a "whodunit" with a fast-paced plot, ensuring that there's never a dull moment.
Dual Timeline Narrative: The story is enriched by the inclusion of Molly's grandmother's diary entries, which provide historical context and add depth to the characters and the overall narrative. This dual timeline creates a compelling contrast between the past and present.
Heartfelt Storytelling: Beyond the mystery, the book explores themes of love, family, and legacy. The relationships between the characters, particularly Molly's connection to her grandmother, add an emotional layer that resonates with readers.
A Blend of Genres: "The Maid's Secret" successfully combines elements of mystery, cozy crime, and even a touch of romance. This blend of genres makes it appealing to a wide range of readers.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House - Ballantine for sharing another tale of Molly, one of my favorite characters. I look forward to the next by Nita Prose writes!

While The Maid’s Secret wasn’t my favorite installment in the Molly the Maid series, I still found much to enjoy. Molly’s signature humor continues to shine, and I especially appreciated the deeper look into her past through her grandmother’s story. The development of her relationship with Mr. Preston was another highlight that added warmth and heart to the narrative.
However, I found the back-and-forth structure between Molly’s present-day perspective and the diary entries a bit uneven. At times, it felt like the story lost momentum, especially with the return of a certain character that didn’t seem to contribute much to the overall plot.
That said, the book offers a satisfying sense of closure and feels like a fitting conclusion to Molly’s journey. Fans of the series will still find moments to cherish, even if this chapter doesn’t quite reach the heights of the previous ones.

Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Ballantine Books & Netgalley for this ARC from one of my favorite mystery series!! Molly the Maid captured my heart in “The Maid” and it has grown to love her and her quirkiness even more. It was very reminiscent of an Agatha Christie and Nancy Drew mysteries and that made me love it even more!.The Maid’s Secret was a wonderful whodunnit and a great addition to the Maid series. I hope this isn’t the end because I just love it so much!

In this latest installment, Molly's getting married and if that's not exciting enough she finds herself entangled in an art heist that threatens her very life. This novel blends a whodunnit with an emotional journey of love, legacy, and self-discovery. Molly is an unforgettable protagonist, but it's Gran's backstory that weaves everything together. The art heist adds another layer of suspense with a surprise ending.
Heartfelt & engaging with the perfect mix of mystery and heart. This series has been a delight to read.
I received this advance review copy from NetGalley & the publisher for my honest review.

I received a complementary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the author and the publisher.
I love Molly and her crew. The Molly the Maid books have become a definite must read for me. This book finds our favorite maid embroiled in a mystery that has her front in center in trying to figure out who stole a priceless auction item from her beloved hotel. Her quirkiness is still ever present and the diaries entries written in between chapters by her Gran tell a backstory that brings all her questions about her family history together.

Pretty good and while I enjoyed Gran's character it was nice to hear more about her in this book. I think Molly has been more defined as this series came out. Overall an enjoyeable read. Thank you for the advance read!

A sweet story that would be loved by fans of The Maid, I still found this book to fall short of that first one. There is considerably less of Molly's personality and character on display. The narrative is okay but the story of Gran's life (told through her journal) reads like a melodrama and doesn't ring true. With that being said, Nita Prose is creative in keeping the story going and even creating another mystery.

I have read all the Molly the Maid books , except the Christmas special. I enjoyed the Flora Gray chapters far more than the current day one. Learning about Gran, her parents, almost going to university and her previous engagement was so much more captivating for me than the stolen egg.

Once again I feel like I was constantly saying “oh Molly 🤦🏼♀️” and now also saying “oh Flora 🤦🏼♀️”. That being said, I was a little bored by the Fabergé storyline in Molly’s current timeline but I was intrigued with Flora’s storyline and learning more about Molly’s grandmother (and grandfather Mr Preston) through the diary entries.
I enjoyed this enough to recommend and the ending was a nice way to tie things up in a neat little bow but I do think the Molly the Maid story has run its course and I hope to see something fresh and new from Nita Prose next!

This book is told in dual timelines between present day Molly and Gran's diary about her life and upbringing. Some parts of Gran's diary made me wonder who it really was because it does not sound like the Gran we all know and love. Over the series I have grown to love Molly more and more. I did miss getting to see more of her in this book, but Gran's history was necessary for this book. The Bees, the antique auctioneers and TV hosts, were fun side characters. This is the perfect ending to the series, but I am sad we will not get to see more of Molly and the crew. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book.

I love this series and Nita's writing style. I really liked getting Gran's backstory this time around and a full understanding of their connection to Mr. Preston. This book was a touch mystery with a beautiful love story and lots of hope in humanity mixed in. I definitely would recommend this series and this book in particular.

My favorite book from the series! Loved loved the story. Im so happy Molly got her happy ending. This is a great series to read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the advanced reader copy!
This series has always offered a comforting return to the quirky charm of the Regency Grand Hotel, and The Maid’s Secret brings back familiar faces with a fresh mystery. While I didn’t find myself fully swept up in Molly’s current storyline this time, I was completely captivated by Gran’s diary entries. Her past was rich with emotion, forbidden love, and family secrets—and for me, those chapters were the highlight of the book.
The main plot involving a rare artifact and a high-profile heist had its fun moments, but I found myself craving more of the emotional depth found in the historical thread. Molly is still her lovable, literal self, but the pacing and stakes didn’t grip me quite as much as in previous installments.
I didn’t dislike the book—far from it. There’s a lot to appreciate here, especially for fans who’ve been following Molly’s journey. But cozy mysteries may not be the right fit for me long-term, and I think this might be my last visit to the Regency Grand.
That said, I’m still curious about Molly’s mother and the pieces of that relationship that remain a mystery. If future books explore that storyline, I just might check back in.

I have loved Molly the Maid since the very first book released. Nita Prose is so talented in bringing Molly and her friends to the page. It took me a few chapters to really get into this latest novel, but once I did, I didn't want to put it down. I loved reading about Gran's history, and I enjoyed the way Nita wove the past and present together, it was beautiful and I felt for Gran and Molly, whom I finally think got some well deserved closure about the woman who raised her. I did guess the mystery part of the novel, but I was really here for the love between Gran and Molly.

love love love. This series continues to delight. I will read anythint this author writes! The character development, the flowing intrigue, the storylines that pick up through each segment, and the unique way of getting into Molly’s head are all joys to uncover.

Molly and Juan are back and two months away from getting married. When her beloved Gran dies, she gives Molly a very important key. But what does it unlock? Molly continues her work at the hotel, and takes her yellow egg to be evaluated at a hotel event. Turns out it is a Faberge egg and Molly and Juan decide to auction it off. However, the egg is stolen! Who did it? This installment in the series alternates between present day and the missing egg to the past to reveal the story of gran. I enjoyed the book but felt it to be a bit slow in parts. Molly is a delightful character. Thanks to NetGalley for the arc,

Another sweet edition to the series -- so sad to see it end, though I think this was a great farewell!
I have mixed feelings on this one overall. While I enjoyed hearing Gran's side of things and her life before Molly, I missed having more Molly! Molly has become such a loveable character, and I truly cherish the time I get to spend seeing the world through her eyes. I really appreciated the way that Gran's past intertwined with the present in this book, despite it taking a bit of time for me to get interested in her side of things. Luckily, that picked up while our present-tense mystery did, as well.
The mystery at hand was solid, with a few surprising twists. As always, this book was filled with some heartbreaking moments and heavy on the heartwarming, which I love. I do feel a bit robbed of a Molly-centered story, though I can understand how this one was a great round-out of the series as a whole. One things for sure -- I will greatly miss Molly the Maid!
