These books are so fun & quirky. Molly is funny and I loved hearing more about her gran’s life. The audios are great. Thank you Random House for ARC

Everyone’s favorite maid, Molly, returns in The Maids Secret. When Molly takes a few of her grandma’s trinkets into work where they are filming the Hidden Treasures show, she has no idea how her quiet life is about to change. Her grandma’s egg was not a trinket at all, but worth a fortune! Everyone watching the show has fallen in love with Molly and soon Molly can’t go anywhere without being recognized. Deciding to sell the egg doesn’t go quite the way it was planned and soon Molly, her fiancé and a group of charming characters have a mystery on their hands. One that they are determined to solve. Even if Molly is “only” a maid, she’s their cherished friend. A delightful tale that puts a smile on your face throughout and has you cheering for Molly each step of the way! Thank you to Random House and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

This style of cozy mystery is always a refreshing break from the fantasies i normally read. I love Nita Prose's style and her ability to create such an engaging story. This is probably my least favorite of the Maid's series but that is not to say it wasnt good! This was probably 3.5 stars for me.

4.5 ⭐️
I have read all of Nita Prose's Maid books, and this one is my favorite! Molly the Maid takes some things to work to get appraised because there is an antique show filming there, and the workers can bering something. She takes an egg at the last minute. Prose uses this egg to tell the backstory of Molly's Gran. We get to learn her history, which I loved. Prose does this through a dairy left for Molly. There is a mystery to solve because the egg goes missing, but I enjoyed the backstory more. Prose continues to develop her characters, not only the MC, but all of them. If you enjoy cozy mysteries and haven't read The Maid Series yet, what in the world are you waiting for? I would suggest you start with The Maid. That way, you won't be lost.

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing for allowing me to read the copy of the Maids Secret by Nina Prose. I have read all the books in series and it is hard to decide which is the best one. Molly's grandmothers egg is missing at the hotel she works at. This book was a plus where I learned her family history. it was beautifully told. I think this book could be the last in a series since it provided the closure we needed.

I really enjoyed this latest installment in the Maid saga! I have read every book in the series and have come to appreciate — and dare I say, love? — the family that Molly the Maid, our kind, intelligent, neurodivergent lead, has created around her.
Every book dives into a piece of Molly’s complicated family and their past, and this one explores her beloved Gran’s own history. Messy and heartbreaking, the story shows the tenacity of the Gray women in the face of a world that often shows them unmasked, unearned cruelty. The book makes you cheer for every win, and really root for Molly. It’s easy to see how she has such a large village of people who love her, and look out for her. I only give the book 4 stars because the conclusion to the mystery was a bit underwhelming to me, but I would highly recommend this book to any fans of the series.
My favorite part in this book is Gran’s note about love, at the very end, the love she holds for Molly (and vice versa) and the love that they carry through their lives. I would be lying if I said it didn’t make me tear up at the very end.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing - Ballantine for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Molly the maid has grown up and become a little more worldly, with the help of her fiancé and her grand-dad. It was a treat to visit The Regency Grand once again, where Molly and her friends work. The “TV traveling antiques show” was original, new and fun. (The hosts were over the top annoying, but I’m guessing that was purposeful.) It was Gran’s diary, however, that stole the show, quite literally! Nita Prose hinted in book 2 that there was much more to Gran’s story, and this was it.
I look forward to reading the next Molly the Maid adventure! Thanks to the publishers at NetGalley for the advanced reader copy to review.

I really enjoyed “The Maid’s Secret”.

This book was perfection. I’ve loved the Molly books and this may have been my favorite. In what seems like the conclusion to Molly’s story, we get a fascinating look into Gran’s life. It was shocking to read about Gran as a young lady. Her story was so heartbreaking and yet she grew up to be an angel of a woman. The mystery at the hotel was page turning but Gran stole the show for me. The end had me in tears and it was the perfect ending to Molly’s story.

I love Nita Prose's books about Molly the Maid! Each story so far has been detailed, further adding to Molly and her grandmother's background. The further character development of those around her (such as her grandfather and her new husband) is much appreciated. I look forward to Molly's next adventure! Many thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for my advanced reader copy!

I love Molly the Maid. It was such a joy to return to Molly’s world, I loved her voice and her quirky personality. She is so loyal in her role at the hotel and to her Juan Manuel and of course, she’s still quoting Gran’s words of wisdom. “The Maid’s Secret” was a super cute installment following Molly's adventures in the Grand Regency Hotel. If you haven't read the previous books in the series, you won't appreciate the backstory as much, although you'll be able to follow the plot. I highly recommend reading them all. This book focused more on her gran's story, and Molly's evolving relationship with Juan. I really LOVE the relationship between Molly and Juan-Manuel. I love how much he adores Molly. They are such a great pair. I loved how the dual timelines worked together to solve the mystery in this book. As always it's filled with twists and turns, but all in all, I really enjoyed this book. If it is the last book in the series, Nita ended it perfectly. Thanks to Netgalley, Nita Prose, Random House Publishing and Ballantine for an e-arc in exchange for my thoughts. I am looking forward to Nita’s next book!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC! I'm a big fan of this series - this is book 3 (there is also a short story between books 2 and 3 that I haven't read) - and if you haven't checked this series out yet, I highly recommend it! Molly the Maid and her fiancé, Juan, are still working at The Regency Grand Hotel and preparing for their upcoming wedding. Molly has been promoted to Head Maid and Special Events Planner for the hotel. Molly is getting the hotel ready for a live taping of her favorite TV show, Hidden Treasures, an art appraisal show with celebrity appraisers Brown and Beagle. Molly brings a box of her Gran's old trinkets for appraisal on live TV, and is shocked to find out one of the antiques is actually a priceless piece of art that could make her a multi-millionaire. Molly becomes a celebrity overnight, which she hates. But when it comes time for the live auction, the antique suddenly goes missing and Molly begins getting threats on her life. Cans he figure out the mystery of the antique before it's too late? This book is told in dual POVs: Molly, in the present day, and her Gran, through diary entries left to Molly. These entries finally give us her Gran's story - where she came from, how she came to own the antique, and how her life went from riches to rags. The diary also contains clues as to who might be responsible for the theft of the antique. This is a cozy, "whodunnit"-type of mystery. I love Molly the Maid and I loved hearing about her grandmother's life in this book. I do think it's a little predictable and far-fetched, but the story is so well-done that I don't really care! Molly, Juan, and the entire cast of characters are so lovable and I've enjoyed getting to know them over the 3-book series. I hope there are more!

This book did not excite me as much as the others in the series. I feel as though we did not need a third book in this series. Although, I am looking forward to what Nita Prose comes up with next!

Molly, the quirky maid, is delightful! After realizing she has a valuable piece of history, she decides to auction it off, and this is where everything goes all wrong. This was a fun read! This latest book is the continuation of a series, and I really think you need to read them in order…and you’ll really love them!

Nice story
This was a nice, quick read. I have read other books by the author but didn't actually remember that many of the characters were the same as in her other books until pretty close to the end, so this definitely is not a series that has to be read in order. The story is about a woman and her granddaughter. The woman was raised by wealthy, pretty awful parents, but she turned out to be a wonderful person who eventually raised her granddaughter by eking out a living as a maid.. Her granddaughter works as a hotel maid. The main story is about the grandmother's life story, but there is a second story (which kind of falls apart at the end) about a kick knack that the granddaughter thinks is without much value but is appraised as an expensive Faberge egg.
The story is good, but, quite frankly, the writing is weak. The language just doesn't ring true. Even if people talked like the writing states at the beginning of the grandmother's tale. people in today's time, which is half the book, certainly don't. The ending, concerning the egg's provenance and its final transfers, doesn't track at all. But I liked the tale and will eagerly look for the next book by this author.

Thank you to Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group for the chance to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.
This Molly story is told in two timelines. Molly, who is a maid at the Regency Grand, finds a rare treasure in a box left to her by her Gran. When this treasure is stolen during the filming of a TV show, Hidden Treasures, Molly's life is in danger. The author then goes back to Gran's life and how she is connected to this treasure. I enjoyed gran's story more than Molly's. There didn't seem to be much of a mystery, just a lot of focus on the TV show. I have read all of the Molly stories, and this is my least favorite. It just didn't keep my attention.

DNF…I loved the other books in this series, but I couldn’t get myself invested in this book. The story is drawn out and felt that the author was grasping for straws to make this interesting.

I really enjoyed “The Maid’s Secret”. This is the latest title in the Molly the Maid series. In this title, you get to know more of who Gran was. There are highs and lows and I honestly couldn’t put it down because I wanted to know what happened next.

As the third book in this series, this was my least favorite. Molly gets embroiled in the theft of her egg when she brings it into the hotel for a filming of an appraisal show. The book swings back and forth between Molly in the present and Gran in the past. Gran(Flora) tells of her upbringing in a diary. She tells of going from riches to rags. Her side of the story seemed to overtake the book and become the more important part and the least interesting. There were no big surprises or twists. I suppose it was supposed to show the changes of a young rich, haughty girl to becoming the wise caring grandmother, but somehow it never did quite showed how that could have made her a better person. When we do see Molly, she has somehow now become everyone's heroine. That leap also seems to be too much. Molly in the previous books is quirky and a bit divergent. In this book, she has lost some of that characteristic. I am not sure if it was from the aspect of writing from two different characters and switching back and forth. The theft of the egg is tied up so neatly and unsurprisingly that it is a bit diappointingly.

Thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine Books, a division of Random House Publishing, for the digital copy of this book; I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’m a big fan of the Molly the Maid mysteries, and while I’m sad that the series ends with this book, it is done in such a way that it doesn’t bring about sadness. Rather, you feel happy that Molly and all her friends get a happy ending.
In this volume of the series, Molly brings a few of her grandmother’s trinkets to the hotel for appraisal from the hosts of a television series. Think PBS’s Antiques Roadshow or American Pickers. One of the things she brings in but doesn’t think much of is a decorative egg that she and her gran used to call their Faberge. Turns out that it actually is THE Faberge egg prototype.
This revelation creates a dual timeline in the story, with Molly’s point of view and flashbacks to her gran, who writes down her origin story, knowing she has little time left on this earth. I love this sort of story, and while I usually favor one timeline over another, both timelines are equally good. Molly learns more about her gran, and gran reveals her mysterious past.
The actual mystery doesn’t begin until about 40% into the story, which wasn’t a problem for me, as I’ve grown to love these characters. And even though I figured out the ending almost right away, that didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the book. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone that likes cozy mysteries!
