Our beloved character Molly the Maid is back in THE MAID’S SECRET. In this one, Molly’s on the brink of becoming rich and famous when a Fabergé egg that she owns is appraised for millions! But someone doesn’t want Molly to get the money… and she, Juan, and a few of their pals are thrust into a mystery they never saw coming!

One thing I loved about this book (besides seeing Molly again) was the chapters that told of her grandmother’s past. We all know how much her grandmother meant to her and Molly was finally able to learn about her history. This “POV” is told every other chapter through a diary entry that she’s written just for Molly. I also loved seeing Molly finally get her HEA with Juan despite all the craziness going on around them. Molly just wants a quiet and peaceful life with her beloved, but the TV show has upended their lives.

All around this is another solid book in the series and I enjoyed it! If you’re a fan of the series like I am then you won’t want to miss this one.

I have read all the books in this series and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. In this book we learn Gran's history and although this format was a departure from the other books, since there were two opposing storylines, I thought it was wonderful and I enjoyed this book as much as I did all the others.

THE MAID’S SECRET was a good read and is a perfect edition to this series. If you’ve enjoyed these books in the past, you’ll probably enjoy this one. But some parts of the book felt a bit stagnant and I wish there was more depth given to Gran in her chapters.

I thought, narratively, the book was interesting because it included journal entries from Gran. As readers, we finally got to learn about her background and her as a character beyond Molly and how she saw her. And that, to me, was interesting. Told in dual timelines, I think it was well structured and I enjoyed her chapters!

However, I’m not sure I was 100% as engaged as I would have liked when it came to the mystery and, at least in Gran’s chapters, I wish there was more character development. The mystery felt a bit forced and Molly’s chapters, while fun, didn’t really add anything. And when Gran was discussing ideas in her chapters, she glossed over parts of her life or her thoughts what would have been way more interesting fleshed out more.

Overall, I think this was a good book and I enjoyed reading it. But it also felt like a book that was trying to find something to add to the series and I’m not quite sure the author found it.

Thank you to Random House and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I absolutely adore Molly the maid. She’s such a wonderful and interesting character, you just have to love her. I thought the art heist aspect was an interesting and fun idea for this book. I was really invested in the story and I highly recommend reading this entire series!

The third in a series following Molly, the head maid at The Regency Grand. This book follows the story of her grandmothers upbringing while also attempting to solve a mystery through her diary.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

*The Maid's Secret* by Nita Prose is the finale of Molly Gray's journey, and it’s a perfect way to wrap up the series. Molly is stepping into a new chapter of her life in this book. Not only is she now Head Maid at the Grand Regency Hotel, but she’s also just months away from marrying her fiancé, Juan. Things are looking up for Molly when the hotel is selected to host an episode of the popular TV show *Hidden Treasures*. During the filming, Molly brings a box of her grandmother’s belongings to be appraised, and one rare antique item turns out to be worth millions. Suddenly, Molly is thrust into the spotlight as a celebrity.

But just as things are going great, a daring heist shakes everything up, and the priceless heirloom goes missing during an auction. Molly, along with her friends, dives into the investigation, uncovering clues tied to the past. The story alternates between Molly’s investigation and pages from her grandmother's diary, which adds depth and mystery to the whole narrative.

I really enjoyed how the diary chapters gave us a deeper look into Molly’s family history, especially her grandmother. It was such a treat to see familiar faces from the previous books, even the sometimes-infuriating Cheryl, making appearances throughout the story. The ending was everything I hoped for—satisfying and emotional.

If you’ve followed Molly’s journey from the beginning, you definitely need to read this one. It ties up all the loose ends perfectly and gives her story the conclusion it deserves. *The Maid’s Secret* is a fun, mystery-filled ride, and it’s a great way to say goodbye to these beloved characters.
4.25 Stars!

This 3rd in the Molly the Maid series has a mystery that’s tied to Molly’s grandma’s past. It was fun to read about lovable Molly again and her latest life adventures. Her strong bond with her now deceased grandma did bring some tears. The solid cast of characters kept the story moving and it was definitely worth the read. However, compared to the prior books, there were a couple sections that were a bit dull for me.

This book’s expected release date is April 8, 2025. Thank you very much to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballentine for the early e-book.

LOVEEED this finale of Molly the Maid! It summed up alot!
This story was fun - and I loved the back and forth between present day (Molly) and past tense (Letters from Gran!)

Gran has always been a fan favorite of mine - and bring in a Fabrege egg? SOLD!

I'm sad this series is over - was one of my favorites!

My favorite Molly the Maid. This book encompassed all. Love, loss, mystery, redemption, forgiveness. I laughed. I cried. I loved hearing about Grans story.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every adventure with Molly Gray and hope that this will not be the last. This was another cozy mystery taking place at the Regency Grand Hotel. Similar to book 2, The Mystery Guest, we got to learn more about Gran and her past. I think I actually enjoyed reading her story as much as Molly’s. Her diary takes us back to her once wealthy family, wanting to earn an education, finding love with Mr. Preston and of course the faberge! I would love to see these books come to the big screen!

Molly the Maid is back with more hijinks at the Royal Grand Hotel! Shortly before Molly and Juan Manuel's upcoming nuptials, the hotel is hosting a taping of the hit reality TV show Hidden Treasures when Molly discovers a seemingly unimportant gift from the past has great significance. Molly the Maid goes viral overnight and must reckon with the new side of fame and fortune. However, only half of the story occurs in the present, with most of it devoted to the lives of Gran and Mr. Preston.

Oh, what a lovely story! I enjoyed the first two books in this series and getting to know all the fun characters in Molly's life, but I liked shifting the focus to Gran. She was a strong, loving influence in Molly's life, and this book will help understand the motives behind many of her tales. And we finally get the love story we always wanted more of!

Thank you, Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group/ Ballantine Books, for this early reader copy. All opinions are my own.

* I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this book. All thoughts are my own.

Molly is back again! Unfortunately half of the book is taken up by her grandmother’s past which helps in the end but wasn’t super interesting to read. The actual mystery also doesn’t start until over 40% of the way through so it is a bit slower of a story. While I liked Molly’s half, it was still lacking in excitement for me.

I don’t know that I’ll read more from Molly, I feel like the series could end here and readers would be happy.

The Maid’s Secret by Nita Prose might be my favorite of the Molly the Maid series. This book has the usual mystery that Molly and the other hotel workers work to solve with the detective from the previous books. There were some twists that they discover during the investigation that surprised me, but I loved the dual timeline and learning more about her Gran’s childhood and early adult years. I don’t want to give anything away so I encourage you to read the book!!
Thank you to NetGalley, Nita Prose, and Ballantine Publishing for the opportunity to read this digital arc.

Spirited and steadfast Molly is back in the third of The Maid series, (THE MAID is still my favorite but I’m always happy to read more about Molly). Mollyisms abound, along with a wide range of emotions, delving into her late Gran’s past as she learns about an unknown-to-her love story.

Still proudly Head Maid with newly added title of Special Events Manager at the Regency Hotel, Molly will soon marry the love of her life Juan, when she finds herself in another pickle. Molly brings a treasure, left to her from her beloved Gran to an antiques show being filmed at the hotel to uncover its provenance. A mysterious heist unearths a gut-wrenching tale from the past, things go haywire, obviously, much to Molly’s chagrin.
Alternately charming and tragic, this whodunit, told in dual timelines, brings back charming characters and introduces some who are quite unsavory. Readers solve not one but two mysteries, Molly is as lovable as ever, Gran always in her heart and on her mind. I’m sure we haven’t read the last of Molly.

Note: If you haven't read any of the previous books in this series, my recommendation is to start in order and you'll have the most delightful reading experience.

Thank you to NetGalley, Nita Prose, and Ballantine for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

In The Maid’s Secret, Molly Gray’s life takes an unexpected turn when an old trinket she brings to the set of the popular TV show Hidden Treasures is revealed to be a rare artifact worth millions. As Molly’s newfound wealth attracts media attention, the artifact mysteriously disappears just before it is set to be sold. This leads Molly and her friends into a complex art heist. The mystery deepens as Molly uncovers a hidden diary written by her late grandmother, revealing long-buried family secrets and a forbidden love affair, all tying Molly to the thief. Combining elements of suspense, romance, family drama, and Molly’s quintessential quirky personality, The Maid’s Secret delivers an engaging and heartwarming story with unexpected twists.

This book, the third in its series, was such an enjoyable read and it really pulled me in with its perfect mix of mystery and heart. Molly is, as always, a charming and relatable protagonist, and I loved seeing her handle the chaos of her life - whether it was preparing for her wedding or dealing with the surprise discoveries she made from Gran’s treasures. The central mystery of the missing faberge egg was exciting, but what really made this story stand out for me was the emotional depth. The alternating timelines between Molly’s present-day adventure and the secrets uncovered in Gran’s past added a fascinating layer of complexity. I wasn’t expecting to be moved so much by Gran’s story, but it gave the book a whole added layer of emotions. It also filled some gaps from earlier books and made me look at everything in a new light.

That said, while enjoyed the historical intrigue and learning about Gran’s past, I did sometimes find myself missing the warmth and familiarity of Molly’s world at the Regency Grand Hotel. The dual timeline definitely kept things intriguing and kept me wondering how Gran’s story and the present day mystery would connect, but I occasionally wished for more of Molly’s quirky, everyday life, which is really what makes this series so special to me. Even so, the way the story blended family secrets, romance, and the central heist was very well done. This book really pulled at my heartstrings and the satisfying ending left me with such a warm, happy feeling. As Molly’s stories always are, this book was a perfect balance of a cozy mystery and a heartfelt ode to love.

Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and NetGalley for the opportunity to read to an ARC of The Maid’s Secret in return for my honest review.

I had the privilege of reading an advanced reader copy of the story and I enjoyed it. I didn't know what to expect coming into it. I feel like Molly has grown so much since the first book and she has her own little found family. I also enjoyed learning about Flora Gray and her younger life. The book does a great job of showing the division of rich vs poor status. I also thought it was interesting to see Molly's struggle of the possibility of coming into a lot of money and how it being public can make it challenging. Nita Prose is an expert at her craft. She skillfully chooses words that describe a scene so you are pulled in and know exactly what a character is thinking.

I just love all these characters, but in particular I was so thrilled to walk through Gran's life in this story. I absolutely loved it. A little history and mystery tying the past to the present and unexpected characters twists being pulled in. I hope this is not the last time we hear from Molly and Gran, but if it is, then it is a fitting end. Highly recommend!!

Thank you to NetGalley, the Publishers, and Nita Prose for an ARC of The Maid’s Secret! Honestly each book in this series keeps getting better and better. I had to take a minute after reading this to gather my thoughts because it made my heart so happy and sad. This has by far been the best one in the series. I loved hearing Gran’s backstory and watching Molly grow. I didn’t expect going into this story that I would need tissues lol! Molly and Juan Manuel are getting married soon and the hosts from the popular tv show Hidden Treasures comes to the hotel to film an episode. Molly brings some treasures and finds out she has an important object. Molly becomes rags-to-riches famous and then as quick as she becomes famous, the object goes missing in a heist. The timelines switch back and forth between Molly today and Gran’s diary entries and Molly must use the diary to find out what is going on before the threats made become real.

The third installment of The Molly Maid series and it was kind of a mixed bag for me. Molly is still as charming as ever but seemed less quirky which I missed.

The backstory of her Grandma, Flora, was like a fairytale in reverse- from riches to rags if you will. While I found her storyline interesting it messed with the flow of Molly’s latest predicament.

The mystery part also seemed a bit flat to me. Molly’s character is so unique that I hope this is just a one off miss.

Molly the Maid is a truly unique and entertaining primary character. I like this book more than the first two, although I didn't solve the riddle as easy as in the other volumes.

Second, I enjoyed learning about Flora's background and how Molly's family came to be. I also had a soft place for John because the previous two books drew him deeper and deeper into the tale.
