This is another cozy, love-filled mystery with Molly the Maid. I absolutely loved it. Get your box of tissues ready. You’re going to cry sad tears and happy tears. The best part is that there are two mysteries!
When the popular TV show Hidden Treasures comes to the Regency Grand Hotel, Molly takes some of the trinkets from her Gran’s curio cabinet to appraise them. Little does she know one of the items is worth millions and is about to change her life! The item goes missing during the show, and Molly finds herself in a media frenzy.
There was a key in the same box that Molly had the priceless item. Mr. Preston recognizes the key as unlocking Molly’s now “very dead” Gran’s diary. Amid the chaos, Molly turns to the diary for comfort and to learn about Gran’s history. As Molly unlocks the mystery of all her Gran’s secrets, she also discovers the key to who stole the treasured item.
I have enjoyed every book in the Molly the Maid series. Gran reminded me so much of my grandmother. Molly is endearing. The mystery is predictable, but in a satisfying way. Gran’s story was captivating and heartwarming. The two stories fit together perfectly and came together beautifully in the end. Bravo!

The Maid's Secret is the third book (and fourth appearance) of our beloved Molly the Maid and I've been so excited for this book's release. In this novel, we get a dual timeline of Gran's life story - shared via her diary as well as Molly's present day, much like how we grew to understood Molly's relationship with Grimthorpe from The Mystery Guest.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and was glued to the pages, wanting to know more. As always the storylines tie together and end up showcasing a mystery that if you're following along, you can get to the answers alongside Molly. I appreciated, as always, Nita's writing of Molly and knowing that we know just enough at all times.

While I feel like I was way more invested in the Gran story (maybe after 3 books of building her up!) than Molly's timeline and the constant switch between them required my utter attention to detail, I enjoyed getting to go on this journey yet again. I'm not sure if Molly is going to be able to get herself into another jam, but seeing all my favorites like Angela, Stark, Mr. Snow, and of course Juan and Mr. Preston back is always a delight.

This is another wonderful story about Molly and a mystery to solve. The difference is that there are actually two stories in this novel, One about Molly's Gran and another about a missing Faberge golden egg, but some how they are connected.
I loved that we get to find out about Molly's Grandmother and that there was more to her than we thought. I loved the story of Molly's grandmother Flora who was brought up in a rich household but was made to feel unloved by her parents, but was loved by her maid that watched over her; I actually forgot the story was about Molly when I read about Gran. I liked how Flora (Gran) learn about real life and how sheltered she was, and that she took responsibility for the trouble she found herself in, and I love the lessons that Gran past on to Molly about doing a good job and being genuine, even though Gran's life became harder.
The second part of the story is about a Golden Egg that was given to Molly by a gardener and we also find out it's a Faberge Egg, so after much fan fare the egg disappears and then reappears but the mystery is who took it and as Molly solves the mystery we find out how It's not only connected to Molly but her Gran's past and too and with the help of Angela and Detective Stark the mystery is solve and all the parts of the story come together. Let just say it's a great ending and as Gran says " Love is the greatest gift of all,"

In this third installment of The Maid series, Molly the Maid has begun to resemble Amelia Bedelia. She still speaks primarily in proverbs about cleaning, and she misunderstands extremely basic conversational phrases. A little bit 80's robot ("does not compute") and a little bit The Monk. And then there is my personal literary pet peeve: don't attempt to make narrative prose epistolary. No one writes diary entires, personal letters, suicide notes, emails, etc with full conversations, facial and body language descriptions, nor extremely detailed recollections of what every character was doing 50+ years ago. As much as I was eager to follow the grandmother's story of riches to rags, pretending that the writing was that of a dying woman's diary just didn't work. The "mystery" in the present was silly and ultimately unsatisfying. I enjoyed book one, but this volume made every character a caricature.

Peose’s 3rd Molly the Maid cozy crime novel, Molly realizes one of her possessions that she thought was a cheap fake is actually worth quite a lot. Molly and Juan Miquel start a roller coaster of experiences starting with theft, return of the theft, death threats and general drama. The dual story running throughout is we finally learn about Gran’s unusual life. Entertaining, just a few twists and red herrings, enough to keep it interesting but still an easy casual read. Cozy.

Having enjoyed the other books in the Molly the Maid series, I was delighted to get the opportunity to read this one. This book once again centers around The Regency Hotel and all the lovable characters of the other books. And of course, Molly finds herself involved in another mystery, though this time she is the victim.

This book also delves into the backstory of Gran, which was revealed in diary entries left for Molly. Mr. Preston’s backstory is also discussed in these diary entries.

Molly is genuine as usual and her fiancé, Juan, is still as caring. The characters in this installment are as lovable as in the previous books.

I felt like I was reading the end of a fairy tale, and it was nice to read a feel-good book. Though there is still a mystery, this book is a love story too.

If you have read the other books in this series, then this one is a must.

Loved it! Another adorable Molly the Maid mystery. I love getting to know a good cast of characters and it’s hard to find a more colorful crew than that from the RegencyGrand Hotel.

I absolutely adore this series! These are some of my favorite characters of all time and I just love how each time I read about them it feels like I'm right there alongside them. The end of The Maid's Secret felt like a happily-ever-after conclusion to the series, but I truly hope it's just the beginning of a new chapter in Molly & Juan's life together, with many more adventures, mysteries and new characters to come. If you haven't started this series yet, do yourself a favor and hop to it!

I have a special place in my heart for Molly the maid. She is so delightful and refreshingly honest, not at all jaded by the world she’s grown up in or affected by the way people often treat her.

I loved this story, where we finally get her sweet Gran, Flora’s story in tandem with Molly’s current one. Intertwined through years their tales come full circle in a perfectly crafted work of art - much like an original Fabergé.

Gotta admit to getting a little teary-eyed at this one, sometimes happily, sometimes bittersweet. As the infamous Molly the Maid, head maid at the swanky Regency Grand Hotel, prepares to marry her fiance and Regency chef Juan Manuel, she gets up-close-and-personal insights of her ancestors by way of a diary written by her beloved Gran.

More surprisingly, though, is that Molly has noticeably morphed from a socially inept neat freak with OCD to a loving partner and beloved co-worker (well, most of the neat freakiness is still there). I haven't quite preferring the original version - but it works for this story, since the focus is on Molly's family history. As she and Juan try to plan their wedding with very little money to spare, Molly decides to take a box of her Gran's things she's saved and cherished over the years to the airing of a popular TV program similar to "Antiques Road Show" that's to be filmed at the hotel. Maybe, she thinks, one of them might be worth a little something.

As it turns out, one of them is worth far, far more than a little. But right after the winning bid is announced, it's discovered that the prized possession has somehow disappeared - making Molly a 5-minute millionnaire and dashing all hopes for a halfway decent wedding. But when Molly discovers that an old key unlocks her Gran's diary, family secrets Molly never knew - and clues as to who's behind the theft - are unlocked as well. And not a minute too soon; whoever is behind the theft has made it clear that Molly's life is in danger.

All the rest is the thrill of the chase, and it's another engaging and entertaining journey. Now, I eagerly await the fourth installment - and once again thank the publisher, via NetGalley, for the opportunity to read and review this one. Well done!

Molly is back and I still love her! ❤️

This is the third book in Molly the Maid series and I still loved her. In this book we found out more about Molly's grandma and she is not the grandma I loved in the previous books. While I loved Molly in this book, the grandma fell short for me. But also, I think that was kind of the point. If you love cozy mysteries like I do, I'd read all three of the books in this series.

Watching Molly grow and develop close relationships in this series has been so enjoyable and brings such happiness. I can’t wait to see where we go next!

Molly the beloved maid is back in action at the Regency Grand Hotel, heading up a special event that has the celebrities of a traveling art appraisal show filming an episode of their hit reality TV show Hidden Treasures. Molly has been promoted to head of special events in addition to head maid is juggling getting ready for the event, keeping the obsessed fans contained before seating begins, and getting her maids deployed. Molly has brought along a few things she inherited from her beloved Gran as the staff has been offered a chance to have their items appraised along with the audience.

As quick background, Molly has a heart of gold but a mind that most assume falls somewhere on the autism spectrum – with typical characteristics like constantly seeking order, social awkwardness, and struggling to understand social cues. Despite this, she has a life she adores, engaged to the hotel’s chef, Juan Manuel with a wedding in the works. She’s exceptional at her job and ever the optimist about finding ways through adversity.

The most influential person in Molly’s life growing up was her Gran, who always side-stepped Molly’s questions about Gran’s own background. This time, alternating with the current day plot are excerpts from Gran’s intimate diary of her childhood to which she has given Molly the key although the diary is nowhere to be found. It’s moving, unexpected and reveals much about the love of Gran’s life and how she ended up with the life philosophies she always drilled into Molly’s head while raising her.

Back to the auction, and it turns out that one of the items that Molly has brought with her is worth millions. Molly faints, then is hounded by those who prey on people who have unexpectedly and publicly come into wealth such as lottery winners. There are threats lodged against Molly, jealous co-workers, and ultimately a theft. The hunt is on to resolve what’s going on, as the past and present merge for critical revelations.

Another enjoyable story with Molly the Maid, this one filling in gaps on Molly's grandmother's backstory, which is tied to a current day mystery. The first one was the best, IMHO, but there's always time for more stories about Molly.

I adore this series and this latest installment may just be my favorite! At last we get a look into Gran’s life before Molly and the puzzle pieces begin to fall into place. It’s possible the series could end here but I’d be happy for it to continue. Molly and Juan are real gems and the final scene was full of many happy tears.

A solid follow up to one of my favorite series. The plot seemed a little lackluster compared to the other books, because this one revolved around a missing item rather than a murder mystery. I liked this one as much as I did solely because of the pre-existing relationship that I had with the characters.

Molly Gray is back as the head maid and special events manager of the Regency Grand Hotel. Her wedding to Juan Manuel is only two months away and she is happy with her job and the man she is about to marry. A tv show, “Hidden Treasures” is filming an episode at the hotel and people bring in items to see if they are valuable antiques. Molly brings in a box of Gran’s old things and everyone is shocked when one item is a Faberge egg worth millions! The attention the show and the prospect of being a multi-millionaire brings to Molly’s life are overwhelming to say the least. When the egg is stolen and Molly’s life is threatened the police and the hotel staff rally around Molly to keep her safe and find the culprits. We also get chapters that are pages from Gran’s diary, giving us insight into her wealthy upbringing and her losing all of that. The story is a quick read and enjoyable for the most part. The best parts center around Molly, she is such a likable character. Most of the plot is pretty predictable. I give the book 3.5 stars out of 5, which I’ll round up to 4.

This one was a bit different, with only half the story being Molly's story, the other half being Gran's. This may not work for some readers, but I absolutely loved it. Another gem from Nita Prose!
