this was fine, but I think I am over Molly, she is too unbelievable of a character. Hopefully this is the last of the series.

Molly is back at it. You know what you are getting with these, some lighthearted differences, a mystery, a couple of lessons along the way. This was Gran heaven, but in a good way.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

Another incredible installment in the Molly the Maid series, this latest book is filled with unexpected twists that will leave you hooked from start to finish. As Molly and Juan prepare for their long-awaited wedding, it seems like life at the Regency Grand Hotel is business as usual. That is, until the Bee's arrive with their popular TV show Hidden Treasures (think Antiques Roadshow for a younger, more vibrant crowd).

Molly, always the ever-prepared maid, brings along some of her most valuable possessions—but one item stands out, worth millions. This unexpected discovery catapults Molly into the spotlight, making her an instant TV sensation. But as we all knew, Molly was bound to shine in the limelight. However, her newfound fame quickly turns to despair when her priceless item mysteriously vanishes, making her the victim of a crime. Who is the culprit? Will the missing piece ever be found? And will Molly’s story have the happy ending we all hope for?

What makes this installment truly remarkable is how it expertly weaves in a diverse array of characters, all of whom add their own depth and flair to the plot. It’s a chef’s kiss of a story, perfectly balanced between mystery, romance, and heartfelt moments.

I particularly loved the back-and-forth storytelling between the present day and Gran’s diary entries. Gran’s past is revealed in such a touching way that it allows readers to connect with her on a deeper level. Be prepared to shed some tears, as the emotional journey through Gran’s life is beautifully told.

And as much as I loved this book, I can’t help but wonder about the future of some characters - and wonder what Nita can do with them in upcoming potential novels. Could there be a possible Molly the Maid book four in the works? I certainly hope so!

I cannot recommend this book enough. If you’re a fan of the series, or even if you’re just discovering it, make sure to grab a copy as soon as it’s released. You won’t regret it!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for providing my ARC.

Review of The Maid's Secret (Molly the Maid, #3) by Nita Prose

Quirky, loveable, unforgettable Molly Gray, head maid and manager of special events at The Regency Hotel, is back to charm readers again. This time, Molly and Juan Manuel are busy planning for their wedding which is only months away.

Molly's routine at the hotel is quite disrupted as she makes arrangements for the hotel to host a taping of the hit reality show Hidden Treasures. The staff are invited to have some of their belongings appraised by the hosts Brown and Beagle. Molly brings a few of her Gran's things and is shocked to learn that among them is a rare treasure worth millions of dollars! Molly becomes both a multi-millionaire and a media sensation in the blink of an eye.

When an online auction is quickly arranged, the item sells for an even higher amount than its appraised value. Shortly after the sale concludes, the item is discovered stolen. Subsequent threatening notes directed to Molly prove even more upsetting.

The key to the mystery lies in Molly's past and is discovered as Molly learns more about her Gran's life by reading Gran's journal. (Molly being Molly would never read anyone's journal without express permission to do so. She reads the journal only after being told that her Gran wanted Molly to have, and read, her journal).

Another engaging mystery for Molly and her friends. This reads like it might be the end of the series. I hope not, but if so, thanks to the author for such a memorable character!

My thanks to Ballentine Books for allowing me to read a DRC of the novel via NetGalley. Publication is 4/8/25. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own and are freely given.

Another great adventure with Molly the Maid and her sweet beaux Juan Manuel. I just love this book, the fact that we got to learn so much more about Molly’s Gran is just perfect. I hope that we continue to adventure with Molly in the future.

Another great adventure with Molly the Maid and her sweet beaux Juan Manuel! This book was very interesting as we get some more background of Gran's life and how she came into possession of an "egg" which proves to be a lucrative treasure find for Molly and Juan when an antique auction is held at the hotel they work in.

While you don't necessarily have to read the Christmas novella before this book, it would not hurt to kind of get a little background beforehand with something regarding Molly and Juan Manuel. This series has been great and I feel that it's one that you either love or hate as Molly is very quirky and some things are a little far reaching in the stories, but for me they have all been a win. Can't recommend enough!

I loved this book. The fact that we got to learn so much more about Molly’s Gran is just perfect. Gran has been such a driving force since the beginning of the series yet her physical time with the reader is so limited. We know that she was pivotal in making Molly the outstanding person she is today, so to have a moment to hear her back story I think is just exactly what this series needed. Of course, as always Molly shines in this book. This series has yet to let me down and I hope that we continue to adventure with Molly in the future.
Thank you so much to Random House Publishing Group and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

Molly Gray, Head Maid and Special Events Manager at the Regency Grand Hotel, is set to marry her fiancé Juan Manuel when a reality TV show comes to film at the hotel. A valuable treasure from Molly's gran is discovered, making Molly rich and famous, until the treasure is stolen. With the help of her friends, Molly delves into her gran's past to catch the thief and uncover a love story that connects them all. "The Maid's Secret" is a captivating mix of heist and romance that will delight readers.

I rarely commit to a series, but this particular one has captivated me since the very beginning. In this latest installment, we are taken on a thrilling journey alongside Molly the Maid, her fiancé, and her hotel family as they embark on a new mystery quest. This time, Molly finds herself delving into the mysteries of her ancestors, uncovering secrets that shed light on current circumstances.

The narrative skillfully weaves back and forth in time, introducing us to a diverse cast of characters whose connections become clearer as the story unfolds. While initially confusing, everything falls into place by the story's conclusion, offering a fascinating glimpse into Molly's estranged family history.

What sets this series apart for me is Molly herself - a character who embodies honesty, hard work, and contentment with her life. The heartwarming blend of mystery and intrigue allows readers to unwind and escape into a world where, no matter the challenges she faces, Molly always has someone watching over her, ensuring each tale concludes with a satisfying resolution.

Thank you, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Ballantine Books, for the digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Molly the Maid is back!

And this time, the story is centered around the backstory of Molly's beloved Gran. Gran has been such a wonderful character to learn about in each of the books. I love her little quotes for Molly and how she shaped Molly into the compassionate person she is. I've been wondering about Gran's backstory basically since book one so I was excited to learn about her in this book.

I will say that of all of the books in the series, this one was the least centered on the mystery in the present, but that was fine with me. I was more interested in finding out what happened to Gran in the past, since there have definitely been hints at it through the other books in the series.

This book also introduced some new characters and I enjoyed getting to know them, especially Speedy!

Based on the resolution of both Gran's story in the past and Molly's story in the present, it seems like this will be the last book in the series? Everything felt very finished in the end. But if Nita Prose writes more stories about Molly the Maid, I will certainly be reading them! If you have enjoyed the other Molly mysteries, you will like this one too.

I love the Maid series by Nita Prose. I was a little disappointed by the Christmas novela so I was very happy in this third installment. The story alternates between Molly in present day and her Gran's journal entries. It was great to learn more about her Gran and Gran-dad's history.

Thank you netgalley for the arc of The Maid’s Secret in exchange for my honest review. This book is part of a series and is much better enjoyed in order. You could probably read this one as a stand alone if you chose to since it really revolves around the history of Molly the maids family in the past and reveals a lot of things we did not know. You just will gain a better connection with the characters by reading the books in order. Molly books are easy to read and quite enjoyable. In this book Molly brings a golden egg that she was given by the gardener of the Grimthrope mansion after he passed to be appraised by television show stars Brown & Beagle. Molly discovers this is an original fabrege and faints. Chaos ensues in Mollys life and she ends up reading a diary written by her grandmother that explains her life and many things Molly did not know. This was excellently done. A true page turner five stars.

Molly the Maid is one of my favorite book characters of all time, and I was thrilled to learn that she’d be returning in this third installment of The Maid series, The Maid’s Secret. In this book, the hosts of Hidden Treasures, an Antiques Roadshow adjacent TV show, are making an appearance at the Regency Grand hotel. Molly learns, in spectacular fashion, that her and Gran’s golden egg is actually a Faberge worth millions! But as the egg is auctioned, potentially changing Molly and her fiancé’s lives forever, the egg is stolen. As the familiar cast of characters works to solve the mystery of the Golden Huevo, diary entries from Molly’s Gran are interspersed between Molly’s present day chapters in an alternating timeline. Gran’s childhood memories reveal clues about the Faberge and a provides a window into her character as well as her love story with Mr. Preston.

This book is missing some of the pure delight of the first two Maid books, but Molly is so charming that it’s impossible to dislike The Maid’s Secret. I found the storyline a bit disjointed and farfetched in the first half and had trouble wanting to pick it up. The egg mystery and diary entries begin to make more sense together as the story progresses, though, and I finished the second half of the book in a day. Even though I liked books 1 and 2 much more than this installment, I ultimately still loved the book. Nothing can stop me from loving Molly the Maid!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of The Maid’s Secret in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 4th installment in the Molly The Maid series and I feel as though this series has dragged out - this one didn't really have as much of a mystery as the other ones (or maybe it just didn't have a mystery I was very interested in) I did enjoy learning more about Grans past but overall this was just okay for me

This is book 3 in the Molly the Maid series, or book #4 if you count the Christmas novella. It deviates a bit from the previous three by incorporating a dual timeline—present day and learning about Molly’s late Gran’s backstory through her diary which is addressed as a letter to Molly. I actually preferred the past timeline, as I really enjoyed uncovering Gran’s upbringing through her teenage years. Though, wow, Gran was quite the mean little girl! She definitely did a major transformation as she got older.

As for Molly, she’s exactly as expected—still the same lovable, quirky character. I think of her as a modern-day Amelia Bedelia!

If you’ve enjoyed the previous novels in this series, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a read!

This book publishes on 4/8—thanks to @netgalley for the advanced copy!

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing for sending me an advanced copy of this comical mystery book which is the latest in the fourth in the series. My review expressed my personal opinion. The two POVs are Molly, who speaks to the reader in first person, and Gran who speaks to Molly in first person in a diary. I enjoyed chapters alternating between getting to know Gran’s back story (which was a more serious tone) blended with the more light-hearted comical mystery story. I liked the dialogue, and how the ensemble of characters evolve (especially Detective Sparks and Cheryl). Also enjoyed introduction of new hotel staff characters. Recommend this book to fan of comedy mysteries. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

The Maid’s Secret by Nita Prose
Publication Date: April 8, 2025
Three Stars- ⭐⭐⭐

Thank you to NetGalley, Ballantine Books and author, Nita Prose for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a charming mystery featuring the lovable maid, Molly Gray. While I understand the purpose of the letters from Gran, I found them less engaging compared to Molly's modern-day storyline, even though some aspects felt a bit far-fetched. Juan-Manuel's devotion to Molly is undeniably sweet, and I enjoyed learning more about their backstory. However, I think Molly’s ship has sailed at this point

Molly is back again!! Life as she knows it is getting more and more exciting as her upcoming marriage to Juan draws near. Everything is going so well, so what could go wrong? What about an art heist at the Regency Grand Hotel, where she works? Who is to blame for the Faberge egg being stolen? Will Molly figure it out before someone else does?

I loved this book! I fell in love with Molly in the first Maid book, and more as I’ve read her books. This is a wonderful story that features Molly and her fiancé, Juan. It is told from two perspectives, Molly and her grandmother, and the reader learns much more of their backstories. Recommended to fans and to those who will become fans.

Author Nina Prose created a most beguiling character for her Molly the Maid cozy mystery series. Molly Gray is sweet, kind, and incapable of deception, which is why readers and the characters she meets in the Regency Grand Hotel love her. Molly is neurodivergent, and her autism is both her strength and vulnerability. Her romance with pastry chef Juan Manuel is a significant plot line in each of the series' four books and culminates with their wedding in The Maid's Secret. The novel also features Molly's late Gran through diary entries that share her life story. I would have preferred more storyline about Molly and less about Gran but nevertheless enjoyed returning to their world. We'll see if Molly's wedding marks the end of the series or if there are more books in the works.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House for providing an advance copy of the book to read and review. This review will post to Bayside Book Reviews.com at https://baysidebookreviews.com and its Instagram page on release day. Follow us! *NetGalley Top Reviewer*
