So wholesome and cozy, I loved this third installment of the Molly the Maid series! In The Maid's Secret, Molly finds herself in the middle of yet another mystery when a trinket that's been passed down to her is discovered to be worth millions of dollars - and then is stolen directly following its auction. The book goes back and forth between the present day mystery and her Gran's youth, which is told through diary entries. This was a quick, low-stakes read that left me feeling entirely satisfied on a rainy day. Thank you, NetGalley, for an advanced copy!

A perfect way to end the series. I enjoyed learning more about Molly’s Gran and how the story was really interwoven with the present day.

The Maid’s Secret is another delightful installment in Nita Prose’s Molly the Maid series. Molly Gray’s life takes an unexpected turn when a rare treasure from her grandmother’s past is appraised as part of a reality TV show filming at the Regency Grand Hotel. Molly is suddenly a multi-millionaire and a media sensation, but the excitement quickly fades when the priceless item is stolen in a daring heist. The true heart of the story lies in the fascinating family history revealed through Molly’s grandmother’s diary. The way past and present intertwines is beautifully done, offering emotional depth and a satisfying resolution.
Molly’s journey, alongside her friends, to uncover the thief and protect her newfound fortune is engaging, and seeing her relationship with fiancé Juan Manuel unfold adds a heartwarming touch. The characters and their growth make this a fun and fulfilling read, even if the heist was a bit underwhelming. Overall, The Maid’s Secret is a captivating continuation of Molly’s story, blending mystery and family secrets with heartfelt moments, making it a worthwhile read for fans of the series.
Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and author for a copy of this book for a review!

Molly the maid captured my heart in book one. She’s such an endearing character and in each book we get to know her better. In The Maid’s Secret there is a dual timeline between the present and the past, with the past featuring Molly’s dear gran.
As readers expect there’s a mystery for Molly and her Regency family to solve. This is also while Molly and Juan are planning their wedding. Who can Molly trust?
I love these characters and the way they band together. The ending was especially delightful!!
This was another lovely installment in a special series. Thank you to Ballentine Books for the opportunity to read an early copy via NetGalley-all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Maid’s Secret by Nita Prose is the thrilling follow up in the Maid series. Molly and Juan Manuel are close to getting married. When the hotel has the hit reality TV show Hidden Treasures visit to film an episode there, the employees are able to bring in items to be appraised. Molly brings in a few items including the egg she received and finds it is worth millions of dollars! However, it’s stolen right after the appraisal. While they work to find the criminal, we hear about Gran’s story in a journal.
I loved this book but was a wonderful follow up to Molly’s story, and I loved learning more about about gran. The story flew by. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for access to an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I will also love “The Maid” the best of this series, but this latest iteration of Molly Gray’s adventures is also very good.
Molly’s wedding is weeks away, and she and her fiancé are happy living and working together. A treasure reality show comes to her hotel, and the staff have a chance to see if any of their possessions are long lost treasures. To everyone’s shock, Molly is in possession of an extremely valuable item. This is followed by shady stuff, which I don’t want to go into for fear of spoilers.
Interspersed with Molly’s day-to-day, her gran’s diary is revealed chapter-by-chapter, and we finally get to learn her background.
There are some truly shocking revelations in the diary, and I was invested from the beginning.
Highly recommended!
4.5 stars, rounded up.
Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for an early copy! I am writing this review voluntarily.

I’m a huge fan of Molly. I read the first book a couple years ago and loved it so much, so we are three books in and I still love the series so much! I loved the plot, the characters, the writing… everything!! Highly recommend this one

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced digital copy of this book.
Molly Gray (AKA Molly the Maid) has had a lot of changes since the last book. Her Gran has died and she is engaged to Juan Manuel, the love of her life and they are busy planning their wedding. But when a well-known antiquities TV show schedules a visit to the Regency Grand Hotel, where Molly has been promoted to the position of Head Maid & Special Events Manager, she decides to let the experts take a look at some of Gran's treasures. What a surprise to everyone when one of the treasures turns out to be a missing artifact worth possibly millions of dollars!!
Told of this treasure live on TV, Molly faints dead away and scares all her friends. But she also becomes an overnight sensation and cannot go anywhere, even to the rooms she is cleaning, without being mobbed by fans.
The treasure is auctioned, again on live TV, and it disappears DURING THE AUCTION!! Who is behind all this? By reading a diary left to her by her Gran Molly is able to unravel the mystery and everything comes out right in the end!!

Although this is probably my least favorite of the series (it felt more cheesier to me than the others), I did enjoy it overall. I loved learning so much more about Gran's story and her history with John. It was sweet seeing Molly further develop friendships as well as her relationship with Juan. I wasn't totally sold on the mystery of this one, but it was.....fine. I also felt like the ending wrapped up a bit to neatly for my tastes. Definitely pick it up if you have read the rest of the series.

The Maids Secret
Big, BIG fan of Ms. Molly The Maid! 💛💛💛
Nita Prose has written us a character to last a lifetime.
The Maids Secret is the third book in The Maid Series…& it was wonderful! Here we find Molly in the middle of an art heist at The Grand Regency, her life has been threatened & her life as she knows it has been turned upside down. Pair this with letters from her Gran, which reflect on her Grans life & may shed light on the current heist 💰🥚👵🏻
Back with all the characters we love, The Maids Secret may be my fave out of all the books. While I did find Grams letters kinda dragged, I did enjoy getting the stories behind Grams idiums & learning about her life. &&& I was SO SO pleased with the ending, I think it was perfect 🤌🏻
Game of Molly Gray will be so pleased with this book &&& if you haven’t started this series then what are you wanting for?!?? The coziest of mysteries with the most lovable character that I have read in a long time! Well done Nita Prose 💛

I am a huge fan of Nia Prose's Maid Series! I was so excited to get the newest novel and find out what is going on with Molly and Juan Pablo.
I absolutely love Molly and her personality. I really loved getting the family history in the novel, and it helped bring things all together from the previous two books and novella.

Nothing much has changed. Molly is still essentially the same proud maid (with elevated duties), and still foreign to most social cues. She and Juan, however, are living their best lives and are looking forward to their happily ever after. A chance meeting with the stars of Hidden Treasures, (an Antiques Roadshow type of show) threatens to upend their peaceful lives. Gran's voice is finally heard through her diary entries versus through Molly's memories and we finally learn about her own life and other great and not so great secrets. I enjoyed the series overall, although this was not my favorite book, but as a whole it was quite entertaining. I only wish I knew one other item that wasn't discussed but who knows, maybe we will learn it one day.

✨ A Mesmerizing Story of Love and Intrigue, Filled with Heartfelt Moments and Shocking Twists ✨
The Molly the Maid series has always held a special place in my heart. It’s not your typical thriller or mystery series, it’s so much more.
The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose has only strengthened my love for this series. I was thrilled to see Flora Gray get her own POV. I cried my eyes out when Flora died, but seeing her story unfold through her diary made me crave even more of her perspective.
This third book in the Molly the Maid series continues to showcase what makes Molly Gray such a compelling character. Her cleanliness, discipline, cleverness, innocence, and soft heart, all reminiscent of her gran, Flora, make her an unforgettable and lovable character. Juan’s supportive presence is a delight, and I enjoyed getting to know John Preston’s character in a deeper, more nuanced way.
The Maid's Secret is a beautifully written blend of thriller, cozy mystery, dual POV, and heartfelt storytelling. With its epistolary style and emotional depth, it’s a series I will forever recommend to everyone. Nita Prose will always be an outstanding writer who continues to amaze me with every book she crafts.
The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose will be released tomorrow, April 8th!

This was by far my favorite in this series. I loved getting the backstory of gram and the family history. Also I loved seeing Molly react to being an instant celebrity. So good! Thanks so much for the arc!

I loved the first book in this series, and the second one was quite good. However, the third book, The Maid's Secret, was not enjoyable for me. I had to pick it up four times to finish it. It felt boring and repetitive, lacking originality compared to the first two books." Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Molly Gray is now Head of Special Events and Head Maid at the Regency Grand Hotel, she is engaged to the love of her life pastry chef, Juan Manuel. Things should be perfect, right?
The hotel is hosting a taping of the antiquities reality TV show Hidden Treasures (similar to Antiques Roadshow). Molly decides to bring some things to be appraised and learns that she owns a Fabergé Egg prototype. She agrees to auction the item for millions, but before it can happen the item is stolen. This was a brazen theft, who would do this? In order to solve the mystery, we must visit the past.
As we visit the past through Molly's Gran's diary we find out how Gran came to own it. Unfortunately, at this point the plot begins to drag. I felt that there was too much of this and not enough of the present day mystery. Gran's story of her wealthy upbringing and falling in love with someone her family didn't approve of would make a nice romance story on it's own.
I have enjoyed Molly's journey from The Maid to her present day position. She has grown to be a confident woman who has earned the respect of her coworkers. I hope that someday we will get the chance to revisit with Molly, perhaps she will be running the hotel, and we can solve a mystery together. Thank you Nita Prose for a most enjoyable series.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, Ballantine Books, for an ARC. The review is my own.

4⭐️/5
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of The Maid’s Secret, the third installment of Nita Prose’s Molly Maid series.
As always, Molly warms my heart. These books are the definition of cozy mysteries. This was told in a dual POV from Molly in live time and Gran’s diary about her history. I loved getting to hear about Gran more in this book. Her backstory and how she came to her spot in life when we first began reading the Maid series. Things seemed to tie up pretty neatly after this installment, so I’m not sure if Prose anticipates writing any more Molly, but if she does, I will definitely keep reading.

Molly the Maid is back at the Regency Grand Hotel, this time she has the opportunity to get some antiques evaluated for an incredibly popular show. Then, the events of the story take a turn.
The Maid's Secret is different than other books in the series, as there's a dual timeline with a diary from Gran interspersed with the current day to day shenanigans that Molly finds herself in. The journal entries gave Gran a whole new personality that we didn't see too much of in previous books, such as how she ended up where she was.
Delightful, charming, and cozy. The Maid's Secret delineated from previous books in the series without there being a death to focus on, and helped the characters be much more rounded.

As a fan of this series since the very beginning, I am sad to see it end, but Prose gives Molly a fitting and heartwarming send-off.
I absolutely adore Molly! She is endearing with her earnest, kind, quirky, hardworking demeanor and love of puns. She is surrounded by a lovely cast of supporting characters with a strong family vibe among them. Molly was raised by her beloved Gran, who is deceased and has appeared in the series only in memories and flashbacks. In this story, we delve into Gran's backstory through her diary entries.
There is also a heist at the Regency Grand Hotel, where Molly works as the Head Maid and Special Events Manager, coinciding with a visit from an antique appraisal TV show. The missing item is a priceless piece that has been in Gran's curio cabinet since Molly's childhood, leading to the question: why would Molly and Gran possess an object of such value?
Gran's backstory is intriguing, as she faced emotional and challenging situations, allowing us to see her grow into the warm and wise woman who raised a remarkable granddaughter. The dual timeline works well and ties in nicely with the heist mystery. The story explores the many forms of love and how love is what is truly priceless. It was heartwarming to see all the support and love Molly has in her life now after losing Gran. While I will miss Molly, the ending is sweet, satisfying, and a lovely way to wrap up the series.
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Ballentine Books for the gifted ARC!

If The Maid made you fall for Molly Gray’s earnestness and quirky logic, then The Maid’s Secret might just make you want to wrap her in a big, warm hug—and then immediately start reanalyzing the clues she drops along the way.
This one’s part cozy mystery, part origin story, and 100% Molly. Prose brings us back to the Regency Grand Hotel, where a new mystery stirs not just in the polished halls of the posh establishment, but within Molly herself. This time, the stakes feel more personal. There’s something buried in her past—something about Gran, the woman who raised her with so much quiet strength and ritual—that resurfaces in a way that feels both inevitable and quietly devastating.
There’s a dual-timeline structure here that works really well. It gives us deeper insight into Gran, elevating her from the wise voice in Molly’s head to a flesh-and-blood woman with her own secrets. And it adds emotional heft to a mystery that’s already cleverly spun. This isn’t just about whodunnit—it’s about how what was done years ago still echoes through today.
Compared to The Maid, The Maid's Secret feels a bit more grown up. Not heavier, exactly, but more layered. The humor’s still there—Molly’s literal interpretations and dry observations haven’t dulled a bit—but they’re balanced with a touch more tenderness, a shade more melancholy. If The Maid was about learning how to be seen, The Maid’s Secret is about what happens when people start looking closely.
There’s also a sweet thread of romance here, the kind that doesn’t dominate the story but rather enriches it. It’s not swoony—think more warm glance than grand gesture—but it fits Molly’s world perfectly. You root for her, not just to solve the mystery, but to trust, to open up, to believe she deserves good things.
And the ending? Very well done. Not in a loud, twisty, gotcha way like many mysteries—but in the quiet, satisfying way that leaves you smiling at the final page, maybe even wiping away a tear if you're the sentimental type.
This might be the best in the series. At the very least, it’s tied with the original—but if you ask me tomorrow, I might be leaning toward this one. There’s something beautiful about a sequel that doesn’t just continue a story, but deepens it.
Thank you to Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine for providing me an advance copy of the book for review.
