Molly the Maid and Juan are planning their wedding when the unexpected happens. During a filming of the hit TV show, Hidden Treasures (being filmed at the Regency Grand's Tea Room, of course), Molly learns that the jeweled egg belonging to Gran is more than just a trinket important to her, it is a Faberge egg. Molly's world tips upside down as she learns that the egg is worth millions and the hosts of Hidden Treasures, Beagle and Brown, want to auction the egg at the Regency Grand. As Molly and Juan begin to dream about what millions can do for them, the egg is stolen right in front of everyone's eyes. Now, Molly is receiving demands for the egg and death threats.

As Molly's story unfolds, so does Gran's; a riches-to-rags story that she left for Molly to read in a diary. Molly soon learns that Gran lost her family and fortune because of love and a lack of love. It is through Gran's diary that Molly figures out who stole the Faberge egg and how the egg changed so many lives.

I enjoyed the newest installment of Molly the Maid, at least the first 75% of it. I enjoyed how Gran's story unfolded within Molly's story and found the pacing great. I wanted the pacing to continue through the end of the novel, but instead, Prose picked up and ran with the end which left me with questions and wanting a lot more. The detail Prose uses in the first three quarters of the novel is exquisite and truly allows the reader to see Gran's and Molly's stories. Unfortunately, once Molly reads Gran's diary and figures out who stole the egg, it feels like Prose just gave up and finished the novel instead of truly telling the story. Things fell flat with the rush of a heist, wedding, and aftermath of the egg. This rush is something I noticed in the earlier books too. I would prefer a more detailed ending that adds 50-100 pages to the novel over the quick, wrap-it-up-with-a-bow ending that leaves the reader wanting more. In the end, I still love Molly the Maid, Juan, Mr. Preston, and the whole crew at the Regency Grand, and I hope for more from them soon.

Molly will forever hold a special place in my heart! She may be one of the most lovable characters of all time. This was a fun mystery just like the previous books.

Sit back and enjoy this newest ncvel about our favorite Maid, Molly. The story is comforting and cozy like a hot cup of tea in Gran's favorite mug.

The story is told from the present, with excitement over an antique roadshow at the hotel, and also from the past with Molly's grandmother telling her backstory. Both stories have lovely parables as Molly and her grandmother navigate life's challenges. The end had me in tears.

I thought this book would not be as great as the first book, but I think it's the best one yet!

Thank you to NetGalley & Random House Publishing for thie ARC.

Molly the Maid is one of my all-time favorite characters & this newest book did not disappoint. I loved the dual-timeline, as we got to hear Gran's story. This book was the perfect blend of mystery, relationships and humor. Enjoyed it thoroughly!

The hotel staff, along with Molly and Juan, are busy preparing for a television show to be filmed at the Regency Grand. The two hosts are coming to the hotel to appraise items for their hit show Hidden Treasures. The staff is allowed to participate, and Molly brings a few items, one of which is a jeweled egg. The egg is indeed real, and Molly has to deal with being the focus of the media and fans of the show. Before it can be auctioned, the item is stolen. Who did it, why was it done and why is Molly being threatened?
A history of the egg and of Molly's grandmother is revealed through a diary Gran has left Molly. It reveals the emotional depths of despair, passion and abandonment that shaped her grandmother and allowed her to become the immensely strong woman who guided and nurtured Molly.
I will be recommending this book.
Thanks to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Nita Prose and NetGalley for this ARC.

Molly the Maid is back and becoming a media sensation in the latest installment of the series. Weeks before Molly and Juan Manuel's wedding, the popular hit TV show, Hidden Treasures, films an episode at The Regency Grand. All of the employees bring in family heirlooms to be appraised by art experts. During a live filming, one of Molly's items from Gran is appraised for millions! But the excitement turns sinister when the greatest art heist takes place during the item's auction, and Molly's existence is threatened. Who would want to hurt Molly, and do this to her? Detective Stark is back on the case, and Molly finds the key to unlock the secrets in Gran's diary. Flora Gray's tale of love and loss alternates with Molly trying to solve the art heist. Molly learns much about her grandmother and herself. Will it be enough to save her?

I loved this whodonit intertwined with messages from Gran's diary about what really matters in life and that love can never be stolen. This cozy mystery is unique in the genre because of the heartwarming messages expertly woven into the story at just the right time to solve the crime. It came full circle as everything we wondered about Gran was answered for us and for Molly. Highly recommend for fans of Molly the Maid and those who want to read a cozy mystery with a feel-good message. Many thanks to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, and Nita Prose for an advance reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.

Such a fun sequel. I loved the first two titles in The Maid series and I’m happy to say that The Maid’s Secret didn’t disappoint. Molly and Juan are as charming as ever and the plot moves nicely with a few fun surprises along the way. If your loved the first two in the series you will love this but it also works as a standalone. **Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this free ebook in exchange for an honest review**

This is another wonderful story in the Molly the Maid saga! This book felt very different from the other books but in a good way. This book really gives readers a deep dive into Gran's past and really brought her character to life while also bringing readers the mystery that Molly always finds herself involved in.

I enjoyed that the backstory of Flora's (Gran) life was written in letter form to Molly detailing Flora's from a young age until when Molly came into her life. The letter entries were so well written that I was crying right along with Flora and Molly! I enjoyed getting more back story on Mr. Preston and how his role in Molly's life was much bigger than she ever knew.

Of course I loved Molly's chapters as well with her dealing with wedding planning and a life changing opportunity involving an egg that had a much deeper past than she knew! I loved the case of the missing Feberge Egg and how the story all came together in the end! I felt that the character development for Molly in this book so well done!

I hope this is not the last we see of Molly the Maid!

This third in the "Molly the Maid" series is well-done and moves the story along nicely. Molly and Juan are preparing for a very quiet wedding while Molly organizes a hotel program of a TV show that evaluates old items. When one of Molly's own items is determined to be quite valuable, the story heats up. The character of Molly is still unusual, charming, kind, and sometimes frustrating. An old diary of her grandmother's is found, allowing Molly, and the reader, to learn a lot more about Gran's past. I really like this series! Thanks to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group, Ballantine, and Ballantine Books for providing an ARC.

The Maid’s Secret is the newest in the Molly the Maid series. As we have learned in the previous books, Molly is most comfortable when her life follows the neat and orderly rules she lives by. She has always been a force to be reckoned with in her own quiet way, but in this new book her life is turned upside down and she is struggling to make sense of it all. In the end her family and friends rally around her and it was so heartwarming to watch everyone step up to help.

The book alternates story lines. One is current day with Molly, Juan (the sweetest finance ever), Mr. Preston, and the hotel staff. The other is told through diary entries by Molly’s beloved grandmother, Flora, where we learn of her history. Personally, I’m not typically a fan of the dual storyline as it pulls me out of each of the stories being told. In this case the storylines eventually intertwine and I understand the value of hearing Gran’s story in her own words.

The mysteries of the story reveal themselves slowly, but I thought the way the author lets us in on what is going on was very clever. I really enjoyed getting to know more about Molly’s grandmother’s history and thought the ending was just perfect.

As a big fan of the first two books and the recent novella, I was very excited to get the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the book. Thank you to the publisher Random House Publishing Group | Ballantine Books, author Nita Prose, and NetGalley for the gifted digital ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Another book in this series that did not disappoint. As Molly finds out one of her treasured possessions is worth millions, she is given her Gran’s diary which could contain the clue she needs to unravel the mystery when her treasure disappears. Reading Gran’s diary along with Molly was my favorite part. The Maid’s Secret was another well told story of Molly’s adventures that will surprise you, draw you in and perhaps even make you shed a tear.

I was excited at the opportunity to review this ARC. I love The Maid series of books and if you have not read them, you are missing out. I hope there are more adventures in store for Molly the Maid and I look forward to the next one!

I received this ARC for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Molly the Maid has become one of my favorite cozy mystery series. As such, I couldn't have been happier to be back at the Regency Grand with Molly and the gang for another heartwarming whodunnit.

In this installment, Molly Gray is planning her nuptials to her beloved, Juan Manuel, as well as managing her new duties as Special Events Manager at the hotel. When they decide to host an episode of "Hidden Treasures," a reality television show where people can bring in their precious artifacts for appraisal, she becomes an overnight sensation when one of her shoebox items turns out to be a priceless relic. Taking her from maid to marvel to multimillionaire in a blink! That is--until the piece is stolen in broad daylight and she finds herself at the epicenter of an art heist.

With the Fabergé egg gone, vanished, and her life under threat from cryptic notes found around the hotel, Molly must find a way to crack the mystery before it's too late.

As it happens, all the clues she needs reside in an old forgotten diary written by her gran. So, with diary in-hand, Molly not only unravels the culprit in this present hotel caper, but she also learns shocking truths and answers about her gran's never-before-talked-about past.

The Maid's Secret was undeniably charming and heartfelt. The dual timeline kept me glued to the pages, with Molly's indefatigable spirit and sincerity shining through stronger than ever, enhanced even, by Gran's historical backstory as the child of a wealthy magnate who fell in love with someone who was deemed below her station. The balance of cozy suspense and emotional depth was exquisite, and I loved encountering all the familiar faces I've come to know and love over the course of the series. A delight from start to finish.

If I could, I'd spend forever tidying rooms and solving crimes with Molly at the Regency Grand.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!

Thank you so much NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for allowing me access to this ebook! I'm a huge Molly the Maid fan so I was thrilled to received this ARC! I even used the NetGalley Reader at work to read this one everytime I could (oups!)
The Maid's Secret is book #3 in the series by Nita Prose, it will be published on April 8th and I encourage all the fans and lovers of cozy mysteries to pick this one up!
Molly Gray’s life takes an unexpected turn when an old trinket she brings to a TV show appraisal is revealed to be a priceless artifact, making her an overnight sensation. But just as she prepares to sell it, the treasure vanishes in a daring heist, pulling Molly and her friends into a high-stakes mystery. As she searches for answers, a long-lost diary from her Gran unveils shocking family secrets—ones that may hold the key to solving it all.
I really want to applaud the writer's writing style and their amazing pacing. I never wanted to put this book down. She managed to keep my interest high throughout the book and that's quite rare!

Molly is one of the most endearing characters I have ever read about as I love her honesty and how she always quotes her grandmother. This could work as a stand alone but you get so much more out of it if you read the whole series. Molly is now the Special Events Manager at the Regency Grand Hotel. She is engaged to Juan Manual and they are planning their wedding. The hotel is hosting "Hidden Treasures" a reality television show where people bring in their items for appraisal. Mr Snow has let the employees bring items in and Molly brings a box of trinkets. She is shocked to learn her Faberge egg is real and worth millions.

This event pushes Molly into the limelight and has her trending on social media. She decides to sell the egg and put money toward her wedding. Someone steals the egg and threatens Molly.

Molly and her friends must solve who the thief is. This is told in two time lines one present and one past from grandma's journal.

This book was a sheer delight! I truly hope there is more in this series as I can't get enough of Molly.

3.5 Molly Gray stars

This is the third installment in this series from Nita Prose and Molly the Maid is such a memorable character. She looks at the world a bit differently, but I adore her and her approach to life. She loves her job at the Regency Grand Hotel, managing special events and serving as head maid. She’s engaged to Juan Manuel and it seems life can’t get much better.

A hit TV show is filming at the hotel to evaluate antiquities that the public can bring in. Everyone is hoping for a hidden treasure worth millions. The big surprise happens during the staff opportunity for evaluation. Molly has brought in a few treasures to look at, and it turns out she has a priceless piece! Molly is suddenly in the spotlight!

As her world takes a crazy turn, an auction is planned, and Molly and Juan start to dream about spending the money. An upgraded wedding, a new place to stay, maybe even an actual wedding dress.

Molly was mostly raised by her beloved Gran, and in each book, I have loved Gran’s wisdom and outlook on life. In this installment, we have an opportunity to read Gran’s backstory in the form of her diary in alternating chapters. This backstory didn’t really match my vision of Gran.

When Molly’s priceless piece is stolen, we get some favorite characters back in the action. Will Molly get her treasure back, or will more sinister elements have their way?

I enjoyed Molly’s section of the book more than Gran’s chapters. Usually I want more Gran in these books, but this time I wanted more Molly! Still an enjoyable read and character growth for these beloved characters.

Another sweet and fun mystery in the Molly the Maid series, this novel uncovers Molly's Gran's history in depth and puts Molly right in the middle of some layered mysteries involving a Faberge egg, an Antiques Roadshow-style tv show, and its charismatic hosts--who have more secrets, perhaps, than Molly. Some of it is a little improbable for me (I have relatives in the antique auction world) but might not bother other readers.

In this latest installment of the Maid series we have an art heist at the hotel. With Molly and Juan's wedding only two months away wedding plans are put on hold until the mystery is solved. In this book we learn a lot more about Gran's life story. This is a story of an spirited heist investigation mixed with an epic love story. I enjoyed it! Thanks to @NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

In "The Maid's Secret", Nita Prose crafts an engrossing and heart-wrenching tale that transcends the confines of a simple mystery novel. Following her best-selling debut "The Maid", Prose once again demonstrates her ability to weave an intricate narrative, rich with nuanced characters and compelling plot twists.

This story revolves around Molly Gray, a seemingly ordinary maid with an extraordinary knack for solving mysteries. Set in a grand, opulent hotel, Molly stumbles upon a devastating secret that threatens to upend the lives of the hotel's elite guests. As she delves deeper into the intrigue, Molly must navigate a labyrinth of deceit, betrayal, and hidden motives, all while grappling with her own tumultuous past.

What sets this novel apart is Prose's deft characterization. Molly Gray is a protagonist who resonates deeply, her vulnerability and strength depicted with an authenticity that readers will find both relatable and inspiring. The supporting cast, from the enigmatic hotel staff to the enigmatic guests, each add a layer of complexity to the narrative, making the story feel like a tapestry of interconnected lives.

Prose’s writing is both evocative and immersive, with vivid descriptions that bring the hotel setting to life. Her attention to detail is meticulous, and she masterfully balances suspense with emotional depth. The pacing is impeccable, with each chapter ending on a tantalizing cliffhanger that keeps the reader eagerly turning pages.

At its core, "The Maid's Secret" is a story about the human condition – about trust, loyalty, and the lengths we go to protect our secrets. Prose explores themes of power dynamics and social hierarchies with a keen eye, shedding light on the often unseen world of those who serve and those who are served.

In "The Maid's Secret" Nita Prose has once again proven her prowess as a storyteller, delivering a novel that is as thought-provoking as it is entertaining.

Whether you're a fan of mystery novels or simply love a good story, *The Maid's Secret* is a must-read.

This is the third book in the series of Molly the Maid, but could easily be read as a standalone book.
Molly has taken on Special Events as the hotel where she works and is excited to have a TV show filmed on location for the popular Hidden Treasures series. The staff is invited to bring in their treasures for appraisal before the general public, and Molly creates an immediate stir with an item of her grandmother's worth millions. When the item eventually goes missing, an investigation begins to solve the mystery.
This book alternates between current events and chapters from the diary of Molly's grandmother. It took me a little bit to get into this flow, but then it works nicely to help the reader piece the puzzle together.
