Gosh Nita Prose is such a phenomenal writer. Out of all 3 books in the maids series this one has to be the best. Tying everything together so seamlessly and leaving you with that cozy feeling at the end is Nita’s style. Love the back and forth between history and current and love that this time it was the grandma’s story. After the first 2 books you didn’t think there was even more layers but this one takes the cake. Absolute perfection! I love this book.

Another fun book in the Maid's series. I really enjoyed Molly's grandmother's backstory and how it tied to the Faberge egg in the present. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance review copy in return for an honest review. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I feel like out of all the books in this series, this one was the slowest and the least exciting. The arc wasn’t that great but I’m glad we got to learn more about gran and there was a more clear ending on her story.

I have loved this series since I first met the delightful Molly Gray in THE MAID.
This installment is my absolute favorite, though to be fair, it wouldn't be possible without all of the events, interactions and antics of the characters that led up to it.
If you've read the rest of the series, but still have yet to pick up this one, or you're waiting on your turn at the library - make sure you have a box of tissues handy. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love, had my heart broken - only to have it put back together again.
Don't let me fool you with my sentimental ramblings above - what would a Molly the Maid book be without its cozy mystery to stump its readers? Every time I read one of these, I wonder how Nita Prose will find ways to keep having all these mysteries surround Molly and the staff at the Regency Grand Hotel. In this one - there's a heist! A very valuable piece of art is taken right under our beloved Molly's nose....and that's not all - someone starts sending her death threats.
Once again, I was unable to solve the whodunit before all was revealed. (Though I did form a little half theory at one point that if I'd stuck with that line of thinking, may have led me down the right track..)
My favorite thing about this particular book was getting to learn the story of Molly's grandmother and how she came to be the truly wonderful person that she was to our Molly. Just like Molly, I take to heart everything Gran told her and learn some very insightful things about life. It also made me a little sad that I never had such a loving person like this growing up, if I'm being honest.
All I'm left with now is wondering what in the world could possibly be next for Molly? I hope I don't have to wait long to find out!
P.S. - if you're a fan of audiobooks, Lauren Ambrose is the narrator for this one (as well as the rest in the series) and she did a phenomenal job as always!

While The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose tidily concludes the series, it didn't quite possess the same pristine charm as its predecessors. The narrative, presented in a dual timeline, features our contemporary heroine Molly alongside her grandmother's past, meticulously chronicled in a journal. One might suggest a slightly heavier emphasis on the latter, leaving the reader with a distinct impression that more "present" would have been, well, more present.
That said, the unfolding drama surrounding the Faberge egg provided a rather amusing distraction. And, thankfully, the narrative concludes with a pleasing resolution for Molly, indicating a future as promising as a newly laundered uniform.
My gratitude to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this offering.

I thought this was the perfect way to close out this series! This was probably my favorite out of them all.

In the third installment in the Molly the Maid series, Molly unknowingly brings a long-lost Faberge egg to an art appraisal reality TV shoot and decides to sell it. When the egg is stolen and a threatening note is left for Molly, she must use all her skill to solve the crime and uncover the history of the egg. The mystery from Molly’s POV alternates with diary entries from her late grandmother, and I loved reading more about Gran’s life and her love story! I also loved Juan Manuel and Molly’s wedding, and I think it would be a perfect way to end the series!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for my copy! ARC was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
To be completely honest I said to myself I was only going to read this book if I got the galley of it. I had no intentions of reading this if I didn't get it. After reading this I don't think I would have missed out on much if I had skipped it but I'm not mad that I did read it.
I did enjoy reading this book but there were parts of it that I didn't enjoy. I wasn't a huge fan of Gran's chapters until about maybe halfway through her story. It also took way too long for the mystery to actually happen. It was also kind of obvious to me who did it.
3.5 stars rounded down

Oh my goodness I just have really enjoyed this series of books about Molly, her job and the loved ones in her life. While this storyline was a bit far fetched it was so enjoyable to get a back story of her grandmothers life and while heavy at times I kept wanting to read more. I am looking forward to more books in the series.

This book was cute it concluded the series . I still enjoyed the first book the best . I feel like Gran is often brought up and it seems to drag on. It was a nice ending but I envisioned things differently.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the free ARC eBook.
As someone who loved The Maid and The Mystery Guest, I have been so excited to return to The Regency Grand Hotel...and this did not disappoint! I met Nita Prose at the Harrogate Crime Writing Festival July 2024 and I loved hearing how she came up with the characters and how she writes her stories. This made the experience of reading this book so much better! Molly's character shows such warmth, humor, and depth. The Maid's Secret was the perfect cozy mystery with just the right amount of heart and charm, I loved it!!

In The Maid’s Secret, we’re back at the Regency Grand Hotel — but this time, we get a much deeper look into Molly’s life.
What stood out most to me was learning more about Gran. Her journal entries added so much heart to the story, and I loved the way they revealed her complicated past — the love story, the family history, the shift from a life of privilege to raising Molly on her own. It gave me such a deeper appreciation for the woman who shaped Molly into who she is.
There’s also the mystery of the missing Fabergé egg, which kept things interesting, even if it was a little complex at times. I didn’t mind that — it fit the vibe of the book and gave the story a nice thread to follow alongside all the personal backstory.
Molly continues to be such a unique and lovable character. I just really enjoy the way she sees the world. And once again, I listened to the audiobook and Lauren Ambrose completely nails the narration. She is Molly for me at this point.
Overall, this felt like a cozy mystery with more emotional depth than I was expecting, and I loved that. 4 stars!

I’ve loved the earlier books in the Molly the Maid series, but this third installment didn’t quite work for me. While Molly’s chapters were charming as ever, half the book is dedicated to her Gran’s diary—which felt more like historical romance than cozy mystery. Gran’s younger self didn’t match the wise, lovable woman we’ve come to know, making it hard to stay engaged. The dual timelines do connect in a clever way, but I found myself skimming toward the end. A bit of a letdown, though fans may still enjoy it—check out other reviews!

I started reading the digital copy of this book but paused early on and waited for the audio to become available from the library because I’d listened to all of the other ones and the narrator has become Molly’s voice in my mind. While the characters’ personalities and relationships were the same as before and the story picked up where the last book left off, somehow this book felt a bit forced to me this time around. I’m glad Molly’s story found a happy ending though, and if you loved the previous books in this series then you should read this one too!

Molly the Maid is back again with another whimsical mystery at the Regency Grand Hotel. These books are so cozy and I was so excited to dive into The Maid’s Secret which is the 3rd installment in the Molly the Maid series. This book follows Molly as she prepares to get married to Juan Manuel while dealing with the heist of a rare treasure at the Regency Grand.
We also finally get a look into the backstory of Flora, Molly’s grandmother as this book is dual pov. I thought it was a surprising and important part of the book that tied everything together.
This series almost reminds me of Only Murders in the Building. There's an intriguing mystery which takes place at a fancy hotel with a quirky cast of characters. 4/5 stars. The Maid’s Secret is out now!

I enjoyed this installment of the Maid’s books. I liked Flora’s backstory and how it tied into the current storyline. Molly as a narrator has grown on me and I enjoy her story - it just fell somewhat flat. It was a good read, but felt very much like the other books in the series.

Molly is the only maid who takes her job serious? Why? because housekeeping is her passion!
This is my 3rd read by Nita Prose and I've loved seeing Molly the Maid (IYKYK) journey and personal growth as a character!

Molly is such a great character. I enjoyed getting to hear the backstory from Gran's perspective. The way this book went between past and present to relay the story of the Fabregé was captivating as a reader.

Love the series and this was a great follow up to the last book. I enjoyed the fact that the story was centered around a flashback and it kept me invested the whole time.
