Oh, precious Molly the Maid. This book was absolutely everything I wanted it to be and more. I think it is my favorite Maid novel yet...Gran and her story being told so beautifully was such a joy to read about. Molly and her wedding had me in tears. What a beautiful cast of characters that just flows so seamlessly.

This fourth book in the Molly The Maid Universe was my favorite of the bunch and really wrapped up her story nicely. I absolutely loved the diary entries written by Flora and getting to learn more about her & Mr. Preston. I wasn't very invested in the present day timeline until 70% into the book but after that, I couldn't put the book down. Molly was witty and adorable as ever, as well as Juan Manuel. Mr. Preston is still a favorite character of mine and I loved Angela and Detective Stark. The mystery aspect of the book was well done and the ending was a satisfying conclusion. I cried throughout the end of the book and felt that it was a great conclusion to Molly's journey. Thank you for sending me this book to read & review!

The maid’s secret by Nita Prose is the third installment in Molly the maid story. I always love reading about Molly and her adventures! This part did not disappoint. I absolutely loved learning more about Molly's gran, Flora, and her life. Overall, it was one of my favorites cozy mysteries, highly recommended.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Molly Gray loves her job as the Head Maid and Special Events Manager at the five-star Regency Grand Hotel, where her fiancé Juan Manuel works as a chef. But things could change, big time, as things get awfully exciting in the third episode of Nita Prose’s Molly the Maid series titled The Maid's Secret
The hotel is hosting the filming of a popular TV show, Hidden Treasures. Molly rummages through her late grandmother’s belongings and brings a few old knickknacks to be appraised. Much to her surprise, one of the objects is deemed to be extremely valuable, likely worth millions of dollars. Molly is speechless but agrees to auction off the item. She immediately becomes the focus of media attention, too much for her liking. She and Juan try not to get too caught up in the hoopla, but they do hope they can have a nice wedding and a better life. Then something happens to change their plans. As suddenly as they seemed to be on the brink of good fortune, the heirloom is gone, and Molly has received threats.
Molly has had previous encounters with Detective Stark; at least this time she knows she is not a suspect. In the past, she’s had experience piecing together puzzle pieces to help solve a mystery. Perhaps the clues may lie in her grandmother’s diary. In alternating chapters, we learn about her Gran's, Flora Gray’s youth, about her relationships, and about her relationship with Molly in her later years. Her Gran was not perfect, by any means, but she owns her mistakes, and she proves her loyalty and devotion to those she loves.
We are also privy to Molly’s thoughts and actions as the investigation into the missing treasure continues. The finale proves to be quite satisfying. Molly is still a maid, but now she’s also a Mrs.
I received an ARC copy of The Maid’s Secret. My opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley and Random House – Ballantine Books.

Crying at the end of a quirky cozy mystery series was not on my 2025 bingo card, yet here we are! I have enjoyed the Molly the Maid series since the beginning but, before starting the final book, I felt ready to say good-bye. Fast forward to me weeping over the beautiful ending and feeling so sad that it was over. Prose gifted us with an unforgettable character in Molly.
The Maid’s Secret is the perfect ending to this trilogy. I loved that we got to see some of Gran’s younger years and got answers to questions we’ve had since book one. I loved Molly discovering this past through her Gran’s journal, it was a perfect way to present her life’s story. Molly remains unique and charming and her relationship with Juan Manuel is so sweet. I will miss these characters but know I will revisit them in the future!

Molly Gray is back, and this time she’s not just polishing silver—she’s about to become rich, married, and famous. As Head Maid and Special Events Manager at the Regency Grand, life is looking sparkling clean. But when an old trinket turns out to be a million-dollar artifact, Molly’s world spins into a media circus.
Just as she’s preparing to auction off her treasure (and maybe finally splurge on a toaster that works), the artifact vanishes in a daring heist straight out of a Netflix special. Cue the chaos: cops, cameras, and more secrets than a hotel minibar.
The real twist? The key to it all is hidden in her Gran’s diary, revealing a love story so swoony it could have its own period drama adaptation. Turns out, the past isn’t done with Molly—and neither is romance, mystery, or a very clever thief.
With heart, humor, and a dash of vintage glam, The Maid’s Secret delivers a mystery that dusts off the past to reveal something priceless.

First, I would like to thank both NetGalley and Random House for giving me the opportunity to read this as an ARC. ❤️
Molly the Maid and the rest of the staff at the Grand Royal have been so delightful to get to know. Prose’s writing, much like Molly herself, is very to the point without being boring or unimaginative. I do think that this particular story is my favorite of the series so far. I loved the alternating perspectives of Gran’s diary entries vs. real time goings on. I think that this installment of Molly the Maid gave a lot of great insight into the family history, where Molly came from, and how she became who she is today. But I also think that this series has a run its course and that this book was the perfect way to put a nice little bow on the whole series to wrap it up.

I absolutely loved this series! I am sad that this trilogy is over but so grateful for the journey. Gram’s story tied into this mystery was a perfect way to end the book and series!

Nita Prose has done it a third time. And this one might be my favorite! Molly is such a wholesome character that is impossible not to root for. I loved this one for the spin on the Antique’s Roadshow but even more was learning about Gran’s backstory. So nice to hear her history and see how it led to Molly being the person she is. Prose is adept at reeling the reader in and creating a character that you love to love! I will gladly read anything that has Molly and her sweet sidekicks in it...

Thank you NetGalley and Ballantine Books for the advanced reading copy!!
So sad to see this series end but what an ending. For those who have loved this series you won't be disappointed.

I was thrilled to get an advance reader copy of this 3rd book in The Maid series through NetGalley! Recently released (on April 8th!) it is the perfect continuation to the story of Molly the Maid. In this third installment of the series Molly can't wait for 2 big events coming up; her wedding and a live filming of her favorite reality show Hidden Treasures. But when Molly brings an item in for appraisal on Hidden Treasures, she was unprepared for all the ways her life was about to change. Told in alternating time lines we learn what happens with Molly, her treasured item, and her friends in one time while also reading about her gran's life in an old forgotten diary she wrote for Molly before her gran died. I loved it!

"The Maid's Secret" is a delightful and intriguing novel that blends mystery with heartwarming elements. Nita Prose delivers a story that captivated me with its engaging plot and charming characters.
Here's why others will enjoy it:
A Charming Protagonist: Molly Gray, the head maid, is a truly unique and endearing character. Her earnestness, attention to detail, and distinct way of seeing the world make her instantly likable and someone readers will root for.
Intriguing Mystery: The central mystery surrounding the art heist is well-crafted and keeps readers guessing. The book combines elements of a "whodunit" with a fast-paced plot, ensuring that there's never a dull moment.
Dual Timeline Narrative: The story is enriched by the inclusion of Molly's grandmother's diary entries, which provide historical context and add depth to the characters and the overall narrative. This dual timeline creates a compelling contrast between the past and present.
Heartfelt Storytelling: Beyond the mystery, the book explores themes of love, family, and legacy. The relationships between the characters, particularly Molly's connection to her grandmother, add an emotional layer that resonates with readers.
A Blend of Genres: "The Maid's Secret" successfully combines elements of mystery, cozy crime, and even a touch of romance. This blend of genres makes it appealing to a wide range of readers.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House - Ballantine for sharing another tale of Molly, one of my favorite characters. I look forward to the next by Nita Prose writes!

While The Maid’s Secret wasn’t my favorite installment in the Molly the Maid series, I still found much to enjoy. Molly’s signature humor continues to shine, and I especially appreciated the deeper look into her past through her grandmother’s story. The development of her relationship with Mr. Preston was another highlight that added warmth and heart to the narrative.
However, I found the back-and-forth structure between Molly’s present-day perspective and the diary entries a bit uneven. At times, it felt like the story lost momentum, especially with the return of a certain character that didn’t seem to contribute much to the overall plot.
That said, the book offers a satisfying sense of closure and feels like a fitting conclusion to Molly’s journey. Fans of the series will still find moments to cherish, even if this chapter doesn’t quite reach the heights of the previous ones.

Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Ballantine Books & Netgalley for this ARC from one of my favorite mystery series!! Molly the Maid captured my heart in “The Maid” and it has grown to love her and her quirkiness even more. It was very reminiscent of an Agatha Christie and Nancy Drew mysteries and that made me love it even more!.The Maid’s Secret was a wonderful whodunnit and a great addition to the Maid series. I hope this isn’t the end because I just love it so much!

In this latest installment, Molly's getting married and if that's not exciting enough she finds herself entangled in an art heist that threatens her very life. This novel blends a whodunnit with an emotional journey of love, legacy, and self-discovery. Molly is an unforgettable protagonist, but it's Gran's backstory that weaves everything together. The art heist adds another layer of suspense with a surprise ending.
Heartfelt & engaging with the perfect mix of mystery and heart. This series has been a delight to read.
I received this advance review copy from NetGalley & the publisher for my honest review.

I received a complementary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the author and the publisher.
I love Molly and her crew. The Molly the Maid books have become a definite must read for me. This book finds our favorite maid embroiled in a mystery that has her front in center in trying to figure out who stole a priceless auction item from her beloved hotel. Her quirkiness is still ever present and the diaries entries written in between chapters by her Gran tell a backstory that brings all her questions about her family history together.

Pretty good and while I enjoyed Gran's character it was nice to hear more about her in this book. I think Molly has been more defined as this series came out. Overall an enjoyeable read. Thank you for the advance read!

A sweet story that would be loved by fans of The Maid, I still found this book to fall short of that first one. There is considerably less of Molly's personality and character on display. The narrative is okay but the story of Gran's life (told through her journal) reads like a melodrama and doesn't ring true. With that being said, Nita Prose is creative in keeping the story going and even creating another mystery.

I have read all the Molly the Maid books , except the Christmas special. I enjoyed the Flora Gray chapters far more than the current day one. Learning about Gran, her parents, almost going to university and her previous engagement was so much more captivating for me than the stolen egg.

Once again I feel like I was constantly saying “oh Molly 🤦🏼♀️” and now also saying “oh Flora 🤦🏼♀️”. That being said, I was a little bored by the Fabergé storyline in Molly’s current timeline but I was intrigued with Flora’s storyline and learning more about Molly’s grandmother (and grandfather Mr Preston) through the diary entries.
I enjoyed this enough to recommend and the ending was a nice way to tie things up in a neat little bow but I do think the Molly the Maid story has run its course and I hope to see something fresh and new from Nita Prose next!
