Another charming adventure of Molly the Maid! I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in the series, and the third did not disappoint. I may have teared up just a little at the ending! So much love for The Maid books!
Thank you to NetGalley & Random House for the ARC!

I enjoyed The Maid's Secret, but I didn’t find it quite as endearing as the previous books in the series. While I still appreciate Nita Prose’s unique voice and the charm of her protagonist, I felt that some of the character’s distinct personality—the quirky observations and heartfelt awkwardness—was missing this time around. The present-day storyline felt a bit flat and didn’t draw me in as much as I’d hoped.
That said, the real standout for me was the grandmother’s diary. It brought a refreshing new layer to the story and kept me engaged, trying to piece together the mystery alongside the characters. This dual timeline element added emotional depth and intrigue, and it’s ultimately what kept me turning the pages. Overall, this was still an enjoyable read, especially for fans of the series.

Molly is one of my favorite characters so I was excited to revisit her, and the rest of the Regency Hotel gang in the latest installment of the Molly the Maid series. I wasn’t aware before reading that this is the last book in the series but after reading I can say that I found this to be a satisfying conclusion. I particularly enjoyed that with this book readers were offered a look into Gran’s (Flora) backstory and her history with Mr. Preston.

Molly is back in the third book (fourth if you count 2.5!) of the "Molly the Maid" series: "The Maid's Secret." Once again, Nita Prose delivers the cozy, quirky charm we've come to expect from our favorite crime-solving maid. This time around, Molly is juggling wedding planning, a hit reality show filming at the Regency Grand, and a high-stakes art heist tied to her late Gran's mysterious past.
The real heart of the book is in the uncovering of Gran's life. For a character that's been gone since book one, she remains a big presence, and her diary adds significant depth to the story. The mystery is fun, the characters remain delightfully offbeat, and even if the plot leans a bit over-the-top, it's always a joy to spend time in Molly's world.
It is not my favorite book in the series, but it is still an enjoyable read. I'll keep turning pages as long as Molly keeps solving crimes.
Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group, and Ballantine Books for an advanced reader's copy; all opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Another installment of Molly the Maid. Gosh, do I love this character. She is deeply resonant and I love reading her adventures. Molly’s signature charm makes her an unforgettable protagonist.
With the latest book, we find ourselves on a clever whodunnit blended seamlessly with a deeply emotional journey of love, legacy, and self-discovery. This book is as charming as the first two and you will be touched and engaged. The warmth and wit of this book is irresistible. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

Molly Gray is back, and oh bless her feather duster, she’s sharper, wiser, and still charmingly precise. The Maid’s Secret is like a puzzle box wrapped in linen napkins—every corner crisply folded, every clue quietly waiting to be noticed. I devoured it like a hotel mint left on a suspiciously spotless pillow.
This sequel has all the delightful quirks of the first, but with deeper shadows and higher stakes. Molly’s unique way of seeing the world is both heartwarming and hilariously blunt—I laughed, gasped, and occasionally whispered, “Molly, nooo…” only to be proven wrong (again!) by her quiet brilliance.
If you're a fan of mysteries with brains, heart, and a heroine who wields kindness like a superpower, you’ll love this one. Nita Prose delivers a tale as polished and unpredictable as the Grand Regency itself.

I’m not a big fan of multiple timelines in stories, so it took me a bit longer to get through this one. For me, there was more going on to keep track of than what I was looking for.
Overall though, a decent ending to this set of stories.

What a fun addition to the series. I liked the writing of the letters and dual timeline element. Super easy fun read.

The third and last in the Molly the Maid series, this book delved further into Gran’s past, explaining more to Molly about her family history. When an Antiques Roadshow type show is shooting at the hotel where Molly is the head maid, Molly brings a box of Gran’s treasures, never expecting anything would be worth a lot, except to her. To her surprise, an original Faberge egg is in the shoebox, initiating a series of mishaps, with thefts threats and more. Molly is thrust into the limelight. I really enjoyed this series, loved the quirky and unique Molly, and will miss the characters. Recommended. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

I don't really love any of these characters and yet I can't stop reading these books. Perhaps that's the true Maid's Secret.

Thank you for sending me a galley of the book in exchange for an honest review. I just finished the book and loved it, just as I’ve loved every book in this series. Molly the Maid is so lovable and I like that each story builds out her story and the stories of those around her. It was another enjoyable read, I love this series!

I adored this third and final book in the Molly The Maid series! It was a fast and fun read with a perfectly wrapped up ending! I loved that this whole series had the perfect cozy mystery vibes with compelling characters and two beautiful love stories. In the maid’s secret, we uncover much more about Flora (aka Gran), her secrets and what how she became the quirky and devoted maid who raised Molly.
If you’re just now hearing about this series, let me introduce you to Molly, a neurospicy maid who genuinely loves cleaning and lives her life through sayings and mantras. She doesn’t always fit in, but those that are closest to her appreciate her wholeheartedness and conviction to do what’s right. I found her to be a breath of fresh air - a truly unique and compelling, yet relatable character! You definitely need to read the first two books in the series, The Maid and The Mystery Guest, before you read The Maid’s Secret! If you haven’t read them yet, stop reading here because there will be spoilers to the first two books!!
This book has two timelines - the current day mystery involving Molly the Maid at the center yet again, and Flora’s childhood, told via journal entries. I love dual timeline stories, and this one was no exception. I loved how beautifully the two stories weaved together. In the present day, Molly and Juan are planning for their wedding, but Molly ends up getting sucked into yet another mystery - this one is kind of like an art heist which was so fun!! In the Flora chapters, we learn about her privileged childhood and fraught teen years, and her love story with Mr. Preston. Linking both stories is the faberge egg from the previous book! I found the plot to be super fun and twisty (and devastating at times) without being too overcomplicated. My only complaint is the overuse of puns - they made me chuckle at first but started to get old after a while.
I think it’s rare for all the books in a series to be great, but I thought all 3 Molly the maid books (and the novella) were fantastic! And I really loved how everything wrapped up for all the main characters in this book in a satisfying way. If you’re looking for a cozy mystery with great characters and lots of heart, look no further!!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Ballantine for this arc!

The Maid’s Secret e
Is a follow-up to The Maid. In this novel we learn more about Molly’s past and get to see how she is thriving with her new life of love and friendship. This was told in alternating chapters with different timelines. I really enjoyed both timelines. Mostly what I liked was feeling these characters were all my friends and I wanted the best for each of them. And of course, Molly helped solve a mystery!

Thank you to the publisher, and Netgalley for a chance to review this book.
Another amazing mystery from Nita Prose. I fell in love with Molly the Maid back in her first book 'The Maid'. I feel such a connection with Molly. I used to do lots of housekeeping myself, none in a grand luxurious hotel like Molly, but it still was very similar work. I also am a little Neurodivergent, very similar to Molly, but unlike her, I've had zero mysteries like hers happen in my life.
I really enjoyed this story. Molly is such an amazing unique character, and Nita Prose does an amazing job writing her, and all her other characters. I like how this book was more personal to Molly, as we learn more about her family, and background. I look forward to Molly the Maid, and hope Nita Prose has many more mysteries for us. If you have enjoyed reading about Molly the Maid mysteries in before I highly recommend you continue the mystery. This wont disappoint. If you've never read a book featuring Molly the Maid, I suggest you start. But, I suggest you do start with the first in the series. The books could be stand alone if needed, but I still suggest just starting from the beginning. Plus, more mysteries to enjoy.
I look forward to reading more from Nita Prose, thank you again for a chance to review this incredible book.

The Maid’s Secret is a standout conclusion to Nita Prose’s charming Molly the Maid series. This third book deepens the emotional layers of Molly’s world while delivering a fresh and intriguing plot centered around a world-famous art show, a mysterious Fabergé egg, and long-buried family secrets.
What makes this book different from the others in the series is its use of dual timelines—Molly in the present, solving a new mystery, and a glimpse into the past through her Gran’s diary. These layers don’t just add depth to the story; they add depth to Molly herself, making this the most emotionally resonant book of the series so far. I didn’t cry, but I definitely felt something, and for me, that’s the mark of a great read.
The plot is engaging without ever feeling overdone. There’s just enough suspense to keep you turning pages, but it’s the emotional undercurrent—family, identity, and legacy—that really gives this story weight.
If you’ve loved Molly from the beginning, this conclusion will only make you love her more. And if you’re new to the series, The Maid’s Secret shows just how much heart and mystery Nita Prose can pack into a single book. Highly recommend.

I really love thrillers but so far every Nita Prose book that I have read has been a disappointment, our styles don't match and It definitely did not match what I was looking for and my slump worsened as I read more of this and while I rated it a one I did feel like it was better than book 2 and it had a lot of potential but it was wasted. I really look forward to the releases by this publisher as they rarely disappoint but this one was not it.

This book was a nice addition to the series. There were some parts I was not fully a fan of but overall it was a good read.

Per usual, I love Molly the maid. Sometimes you need a good who-done-it, a true palate cleanser of a book where the good characters are truly good. That’s what I always find in this series. Seeing Molly connect her past and present through a storyline mentioned in the first novel was a great way to further tie the world together. Moreover, it was wonderful to end the novel seeing Molly surrounded by love.

I had hoped this book would be another murder-mystery with Molly being the leader of investigating, but it is not. The story focuses mostly on Gran (Flora). I am conflicted about how Gran acted in her younger days, but I understand why she was so mean and cold then. I did appreciate how the author described the evolution of how Flora became the sweet and kind-hearted Gran we know from previous books.
Dislikes:
•The instantaneous fuss/popularity over Molly the maid & her precious egg was silly, I rolled my eyes so many times.
•Molly’s mom warning her about the “men in trench coats” was unnecessary, why bring her mom into the book for one paragraph? Also, that was more of an unanswered plot-hole. Supposedly her mom knew these guys that stole the egg, they were dangerous, etc etc….but that wasn’t the case in the end? Ummm, what the heck?? 🤨
•The book is overly descriptive & repetitive.
I still adore Molly, but I do hope this is the end of the series.

I think that I am in the minority of most of my booksta friends when I say I loved this ending for Molly's adventures!
This book is told in two different timelines. we finally get to hear from gran. We get to hear her story and it's being told in diary form. I was always intrigued by gran in the first two books but I couldn't really get a good grasp of who she was. I wanted to understand why Maggie was the way she was and what gran went through.
I loved hearing the continuing development of Molly's relationships! She just continues to grow and the beautiful thing is that when new people are added to the group Molly learns more and continues growing as a person.
I loved the premise for this one! The mystery was perfect! I loved that it was something that to a degree had been mentioned since the beginning.
Overall I think it was a fantastic ending for our Molly who got her happy ever after and there was no river, denial or otherwise!
