The Maid’s Secret is an enjoyable read. It is more predictable than the first two books in the series. Molly is as lovable as ever. I enjoyed getting to know more of Gran’s story. I feel like the egg heist was the side story which is why the mystery was not as good as in the other books. I would still recommend this for a read but it is definitely not as good as the first two books in the series. Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

I enjoyed this book but it felt a little stretched out compared to the first in the series. Still would recommend to friends and family.

When a famous antiquities tv show, Hidden Treasures, comes to the Regency Grand, Molly brings a few treasures of her own. One of which is worth millions… until it goes missing. While Molly tries to determine who took the treasure, she discovers her Gran’s diary which may hold the key to solving this mystery.
I love the Molly the Maid series, but this book was a little slow for me. There was less mystery in this story and more details about Gran’s life which, while I appreciated it, was unnecessary at times and I wasn’t entirely sure how everything was going to play out. However, the author was able to flawlessly weave the past and present together which kept me interested in the story. Prose stayed true to the characters in the story and I always enjoy Molly’s quirky personality. Overall, I liked this book. Thank you NetGalley, Random House and Ballantine Books for this e-arc!

Molly the maid is back at it again!! This third book in the series was so fun and interesting and I thought the mystery was great! I definitely enjoyed learning about Molly's grandmother, and I'm loving where this series is going!

An excellent third installment to The Maid series. I loved the development of Gran's character and how the mystery of the present came together with the past. I look forward to more to come from Nita Prose.

I really enjoyed The Maid, so I was excited to return to Molly’s world in The Maid’s Secret. While the mystery was engaging and the writing still charming, I found the character of Molly starting to feel a bit stale this time around. Some of the freshness and quirkiness that made her so compelling in the first book didn’t quite land the same way here. Still, fans of the first novel will appreciate the familiar tone and tidy plot, even if the magic isn’t quite as strong.

Molly the Maid is back planning her wedding. She becomes an instant celebrity when she discovers that one of her trinkets is an actual treasure during a live taping of a treasure hunter show at the hotel. A diary left by Gran unravels the mystery of the object and the backstory of Molly’s family.

(This review contains spoilers from the first two books in the series as well as the novella.)
As Molly and Juan’s wedding day approaches, the Regency Grand is abuzz with camera crews filming an episode of Hidden Treasures. Molly brings a small box of Gran’s items to be appraised, not anticipating much from it. The next thing she knows, she’s being told that she’s a multi-millionaire. But Molly is less concerned with the money and more curious as to how Gran acquired such an expensive piece… a piece that eventually goes missing.
The book goes back and forth from Molly’s present-day point of view and Gran’s final diary entries, explaining to Molly that the stories she once told her were laced with truth. The ‘key to her heart’ gives Molly answers about Gran’s past and also what she’s dealing with in the present.
Though important to the story, I did struggle through Gran’s portion of the book. It strayed too much from the characters I wanted to read about. Perhaps if I were bingeing the series in one go, I wouldn’t have had this issue, but I’ve been reading as the books have been released. Molly’s portion of the story was charming as always, and I’ve loved seeing her grow as a character.
Honestly, I’m pretty sad that this is the final installment in the Molly the Maid series! Even though I’ve had a bit of a love/hate relationship since the beginning, I’ve grown attached to the characters. I look forward to whatever Nita Prose goes on to write next.
Thanks to Random House/Ballantine and NetGalley for providing me with a free digital ARC!

I think I am just … burnt out on Molly the Maid. I really enjoyed the first two books and then did not enjoy the Christmas novella. While I do think the writing still remaind crisp, I just struggled to continue to pick up the novel when I was needing to come back to it.

Molly Gray is back with with another mystery! When Molly brings her family trinkets to an antiquities show to see if they have value, the last thing she expects is to be the owner of a treasure worth millions. She is stunned by the news and while still trying to process it, the item goes missing. The hotel staff is working together to figure out how it disappeared and what other dangers lurk around the corner.
I just love all the Molly Gray books. She is one of my favorite characters. I loved the dual storylines here with Molly's grandmother. If you're looking for your next cozy mystery, this is it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the ARC of The Maid's Secret.

Very cutesy and typical of this series. I really enjoyed seeing more of Flora’s story and her background. That added a lot to the series

This was so sweet. 🥹 I really enjoy Molly and Juan’s relationship and I really really loved this book.
The plot is laid out similarly to the other books, but with a split timeline. In current day, we have Molly dealing with the bombshell of a (real) Faberge egg and the chaos that ensures from her realizing she could be a multimillionaire. We follow the twists and turns (and death threats) she deals with while she and Juan try to navigate their newfound fame and assumed fortune. Plenty of plot points I didn’t see coming, and of course all of this ties in with our other timeline: Gran’s dairy and life story. We read about Flora’s past and mistakes and how she learns and grows from them. My favorite part was watching her and John’s romance, even if they didn’t get the lifetime together they deserved. Molly finally gets some insight into her family and past, while snatching up some clues to help solve the mystery in this book. I suspected the thief this time, but it was still well done.
The plot is a split of sweet and sour, and of course no one knows who to trust. The characters are adorable as always. The writing is easy to read and absorb. And the ending is everything I wanted it to be. 4.5⭐️🥹

I love this series and have come to realize I will pick up all books by this author and this book doesn’t disappoint. This book follows Molly the Maid as a treasure hunter antique dealers come to the hotel to film. When her Faberge egg is valued for millions. Molly thinks she’ll finally be happy until the egg goes missing. While we follow all of Molly antics we also get Grans backstory which was done so well. These books have stole my heart and I could not put this down with the fast paced mystery interspersed with snapshots of grans life. I would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for a chance to read this book for an honest review.

A special thank you to NetGalley, Ballantine and Nita Prose for this advance copy of the third installment in our Molly the Maid series - this copy was provided in exchange for my honest review.
Molly is such a fun protagonist - for this series, I would recommend reading the first 2 novels, then the Christmas novella and then this one to get the most continual timeline. I’m not sure if I remember if the other novels were like this, but we flip back and forth between present day Molly and the mystery at hand, and past via letters from Gram that build the information about the stolen egg, the central mystery. I definitely liked the present day timeline better, and I found myself wondering when things were going to come together (they do), it was just a touch slow moving during those past chapters. Overall, I do like this series, it’s more of a fun, lower stakes mystery which can be refreshing to read. The Maid’s Secret was available at the beginning of April 2025 and is available now!
Thank you again to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is a delightful continuation of the Molly the Maid series, which is very similar in style, theme, and storytelling to the rest of the series. If you enjoyed the other books in this series, this third installment will undoubtedly captivate you.
We follow two main timelines in this book - the first being Molly in present day learning she owns a priceless artifact. The subsequent theft of this item propels Molly into a mystery that intertwines with her grandmother’s past. The second narrative delves into Gran’s history, offering readers a deeper understanding of her character and the legacy she imparts to Molly. I’d actually say that a majority of the story is Gran’s.
The story culminates in a heartwarming conclusion, with Molly’s wedding providing a satisfying and joyful ending. It is truly a happy ending.
Ultimately, this is a charming and satisfying addition to the beloved series, offering readers a blend of mystery, romance, and familial insight that is both engaging and heartwarming.

Thank you to Ballantine for my copy of THE MAID'S SECRET.
I really enjoyed the previous books but this one was much more historical fiction, learning about Molly's Gran. That made it more of a slog in my opinion and I just didn't vibe with this one.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I stand by my previous statement that Molly the Maid is probably my favorite fictional character, although after reading this book, I think Flora Gray (aka Gran) may give her a run for her money! Molly’s quaint little life gets turned upside down in an instant all because of a faberge egg! I loved getting to know about Molly’s family history through Gran’s words.

This was such a great way to end the amazing journey of Molly the Maid. While I will miss this series and character very much, it was so good to see her have a fulfilling ending and one final mystery to solve. Molly continues to give us her perfectly unintentional humor and quirkiness throughout this book, with one final, thrilling plot twist.

Molly Gray is the esteemed Head Maid and recently promoted Special Events Manager of the Regency Grand Hotel. And, with her upcoming marriage to Juan Manuel only two months away, life seems too good to be true.
When the hit reality TV show “Hidden Treasures” starring popular art appraisers Brown and Beagle, chooses to film an episode at the hotel, Molly brings in a shoebox containing a few of her gran’s old things for appraisal, and much to everyone's surprise, one item turns out to be a rare and priceless treasure.
Could life become even better?
