The Killer She Knew is an action-packed thriller with a big twist that will blow your mind! It's book 3 in the Leigh Brody FBI series by Nichole Severn. When Leigh is called to a murder scene at her alma mater things get weird as this girl is placed in the same spot as a murdered girl was 18 years ago! Leigh knows that case all to well as she was a student back then and her boyfriend, Dean, was accused of being the murderer. Dean got off because Leigh covered for him and gave the police an alibi. Did she make a mistake and now Dean was on a new killing spree? This case is weighing on Leigh more than most because she feels guilty. Would this girl still be alive if Leigh hadn't covered for Dean? Leigh loved Dean and believed he could never kill someone. Does this new murder change those feelings?
Leigh is also a new mom to her adopted daughter, Ava. It's not going well so far as Ava doesn't open up to Leigh. Ava's mom and Leigh's best friend is serving life in prison for killing a man that had taken Ava. Leigh promised to adopt her and treat her like her own. Ava's not really cooperating so far, but Leigh has hope that they will grow closer with time. Ava has been through a lot and it will take time. Ava is with Leigh as she investigates the murder at her former college. She couldn't leave Ava home alone and there's a hurricane coming. As the investigation progresses the hurricane gets closer and more students are murdered. Can Leigh stay safe and keep Ava safe while still doing her job? When the power goes out, the lines of communication are cut off, and everyone is sheltering in place what can go wrong? A killer is in the same building as the students, Leigh, and Ava!
Will Leigh be able to find the killer before he kills again? Who is doing this and why? It seems like it's personal to the first murder all of those years ago. Does the killer know Leigh? Could it really be Dean after all of these years? The Killer She Knew is a fantastic book that will keep you reading late into the night. I couldn't figure out who the killer was and then BOOM, a huge twist! I rate The Killer She Knew 5 stars with my highest recommendation. The Killer She Knew is available now and should not be missed! If you haven't read the first 2 books in the series, this book can be enjoyed as a standalone read. I'd like to thank NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced copy of The Killer She Knew in exchange for a fair review. #TheKillerSheKnew

"The Killer She Knew" by Nichole Severn is a gripping addition to the Leigh Brody FBI Mystery Series! This third installment delves into Leigh's troubled past, where an 18-year-old murder case comes back to haunt her. With a false alibi and a vanished ex-boyfriend, Leigh is determined to uncover the truth.
As Leigh navigates the complex case, she must also balance her new role as a mother to her adoptive daughter. The setting, amidst a hurricane with stay-in-place orders, adds a chilling layer to the story. With people dying and the killer lurking among them, the tension is palpable.
While I did guess the murderer's identity about 75% through, the twists and surprises in the ending still made it a satisfying read. I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series to fully appreciate the character development and chronological storyline.
Overall, "The Killer She Knew" is a suspenseful, engaging thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Another Leigh Brody FBI mystery, and I am here for it! This third installment has detective Brody, still working for the Behavioral Analysis Unit, returning to her Alma mater to consult on a murder that seems an awful lot like an unsolved case from back when she was a student. And time is ticking by as a hurricane is descending on the campus. Everyone has to shelter in place, including Leigh’s adopted daughter and a potential serial killer. The suspense was crazy with this book, but I will admit that I saw a good chunk of the ending coming. Also, you really need to read these books in order, because there are spoilers for the first two books throughout this one. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Leigh Brody 4⭐️

A well written and tightly plotted thriller which has the reader on tenterhooks as to what is going to happen. The characters were believable and the tension ratcheted up throughout the story to the point where I felt exhausted for the main characters. I thought I’d worked out the denouement changing my mind several times and found the ending very satisfactory.

While this is bk 3 in this series it can be read as a standalone.
From beginning to end this one had me on the edge of my seat. I really liked FBI Agent Leigh Brody and how she goes about solving the case. This one hits close to home as it involves her college and a case from the past.
There are so many twists and turns, along with some great clues, some of which I caught while reading and some I realized after the killer was revealed. This was fun and fast-paced and I couldn't put it down until I reached the last page.

Best book yet in this series. There is so much going on I feel like I need a vacation after reading it. There's a killer to be found, a newly adopted daughter to deal with, a sexy US Marshal, a hurricane, and so much danger. This story pulled me in from the beginning and it didn't let up as Leigh tried to juggle having to go deal with a case that was so similar to one from 18 years ago while also finding her footing with Ava, her adopted daughter. All I can say is hang on to your hat and be prepared for all the twists.
Thank you to NetGalley, Storm Publishing and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was another good addition to a must read series.
The only reason I didn't give it all the stars is because I felt the author finished the book without giving us everything relating to this book.
I am a detailed focused reader though and I also know how amazing books by this author can be when she does tie things up in not so pretty bows.
Don't get me wrong though, it was still a captivating read that kept me guessing until the very end, so in that regard it was cleverly done.
I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

Riveting from start to finish! The third book in Severn's Leigh Brody FBI Mystery series is the best yet! The set up of the current crime and it's relation to Leigh's past had me hooked from the very start and the twists and turns and addictive atmosphere of the storm brewing made for an intense read. Lots of mystery, a good amount of feels between Leigh and her past as well as she and Ava and settling into their new norm and just an overall suspense filled delight.
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a strong female FBI lead who puts her heart and soul into bringing justice when needed.

By Nichole Severn The Killer She Knew may be released on February 14th, but this is not the usual story of love that one thinks of on this day. A past boyfriend of FBI agent Leigh Brody was accused of a murder that has now been repeated eighteen years later. So this is a personal determination to solve this crime and apprehend the killer as well as a professional one for Leigh Brody.
It is a captivating and horrifying crime thriller where you are right alongside Leigh, pushing for the criminal to be stopped before he kills again. The third book in the Leigh Brody FBI Mystery Series is the most gripping of the series. A must read for thrilling mystery readers.

Wow, this had me on an awesome ride! Nicole Severn definitely has a winner here! I truly loved Leigh's strong character. Leigh is a FBI agent specializing in criminal psychology. She studied under Dr. Morrow and he took her under his wing.
The murderer they are trying to find has killed before eighteen years before to be precise. Then it was Then Robotic and now it is Alice Dietz. Both murders occurring at Durham, New Hampshire the college and agent Leigh Brody's alma mater. She, of course, has been called in to investigate. After all eighteen years ago she was the alibi for the leading man that everyone thought it was. He ran as fast as he could as soon as he could. Even though Leigh was very much in love with him.
As she goes back to Durham to investigate she sets her adopted daughter Ava up in a near by hotel. Once she gets there she first meets up with Marshall Max Ford. He will be her new partner on the case. She keeps getting this warm feeling like she can really trust him so she does.
My question to you should she trust her instincts or her investigation skills? Which would you rely on?
What a fantastic read and wow what an ending! Thanks for the ride this one took me on!
Happy reading!!

The Killer She Knew by Nichole Severn is a tense, fast-paced thriller. This is the third book in the Agent Leigh Brody series but it can be read as a standalone. When Leigh is called to a crime scene at her alma mater, the University of New Hampshire, she realizes that this murder has the same MO as a previous murder 18 years earlier when she was a student. At that time the main suspect was Dean Groves, Leigh's boyfriend. Even though Dean had a connection to the victim, Leigh gave him an alibi for that night. Now she fears that Dean is back leaving more bodies in his wake. Teamed up with US Marshal Max Ford, Leigh must get to the bottom of why this young girl is dead. When a hurricane threatens to destroy the evidence and crime scene, Leigh is racing against the clock. But when more bodies start to show up, not to mention being locked down at the college, she realizes that the killer is locked in as well.
This was an intense storyline! The tension of the storm and being locked in with a killer made each chapter more intriguing. I did figure out the main reveal early on in the book but I was still racing to read the rest to put it all together. I will definitely go back and read the first two books in this series.
Thank you to NetGalley, Nichole Severn, and Storm Publishing for this ARC. Expected release date is February 14th 2025.

I absolutely loved this book! There’s something about a locked room style story that just makes the reading so much more intense. Add a natural disaster and it really makes the tension rise! I actually liked this one better than the last one because we got more of a taste of what makes Leigh tick. It wasn’t just her being Ava’s adopted mom. It was also the extra backstory on her that we never got before. I had no idea any of this stuff after her dad’s arrest happened, which made it so great. The marriage between her past and her present truly made this a page turning story. It’s interesting to see Leigh finally doing something for herself. I am curious if this series is just slated to be a trilogy or if it will continue. I can see it being tied up after this, but I feel like Leigh has so many more stories for us. If so, I will absolutely be there to read them!
Huge thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for sending me this ARC for review! All of my reviews are given honestly!

This is the third book in the series and I have to say they get better and better Leigh Brody is once again facing a killer and this time it is at her old school. One woman is dead and another is missing with all communication dead due to a hurricane can Leigh save the missing one and does this tie back to her own past.
This entire series is for the true crime/suspense enthusiast as Nichole is a true artist at building suspense and dropping crumbs to have you totally enthralled in the storyline and a warning make sure you allow plenty of time when you start her books because I guarantee you won't want to be interrupted until you turn that last page

This is the 3rd book in the Leigh Brody FBI Mystery Series and is absolutely gripping! I've read the first two books in the series but this can be read as a stand a lone.
Pro's: It's a heart pounding action packed thriller.
Con's: FBI agent Leigh Brody at times didn't seem very professional while doing her job. There were so many clues she should have seen to figure out who the killer was in real I believe in real life circumstances she wouldn't have missed them.
Synopsis: The girl’s blonde hair fans across the ground like a halo, her soft brown eyes staring blankly up at the stormy sky. Leigh’s heart beats painfully in her chest as she takes in the scene. Is this her fault? Could she have saved this girl?
Many thanks to #TheKillerSheKnew #NetGalley & #StormPublishing for providing me with an E-ARC of this book.

4⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced copy of The Killer She Knew.
Leigh is still recovering from her last case and trying to find her place with her new adopted teenage daughter when a case comes her way that mirrors a murder that occurred when she was in college. She knows now is not the best time to take on a case but this one feels personal. Has her ex boyfriend Dean who was the main suspect of the murder that happened while they were in college resurfaced after all these years. Or is someone trying to copycat the previous crime? When she arrives to the crime scene during an impending storm she has no idea how much danger is waiting for her.
This book is so good-the whole series is a wonderful read. I loved the plot and the characters. I did not see the twist coming! It was great!

A great fast-paced thriller that kept me gripped. Lots of heart-pounding action, but some of it was just a bit too over-the-top for me! I know we have to suspend belief sometimes but how FBI Agent Leigh Brody survived what she went through I’ll never know! The twist at the end was a surprise although I had my suspicions earlier. Altogether a fabulous read (even though I can’t warm to Ava at all). Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the early copy.

easy read. enjoyed the plot. would read others by author. few spelling errors. would recommend. I did like how you figure out who the killer is. had a slight feeling who is was..

As a hurricane rages outside, Leigh of the BAU is inside her Alma Mater called back to investigate a murder eerily reminiscent of a murder that she was involved in 18 years ago at the same college.
Fast paced with tension filled pages, this suspenseful thriller has twists and turns with multiple murders and a hidden devious killer.
Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for an early copy. This review is my honest opinion.

I love this author's writing and her character FBI Agent Leigh Brody. Lots of bread crumbs dropping so you think you're working it out but it can't be...right?
Agent Brody is a brilliant crime solving beast, she sees patterns and gets inside the criminals head, much to the fear of a few people she's worked with.
A murder, the body set up the same as a crime from when she was in college? Could they be connected after nearly 2 decades? Was she actually walking into a trap? A storm has students, staff and cops locked in the college out of danger, but is the killer walking amongst them or right under their noses?
What a wonderful story as the ending races closer as people are in danger fighting for their lives.
