This audiobook is narrated by Nick Mills, Christina Moore, and Rebecca Quinn Robertson. I adored the narrators voices. They were each absolutely perfect for the character they voiced. I love it when each character has their own voice. It also helped as this was twisty.
This was my first novel by this author, but it surely won't be my last. This has 3 main character pov chapters. The wife and physician, Eve, her husband, Nathan, who works at or manages a tow truck company and the detective, Rita.
This had cozy series elements surrounding Rita's character and that of her love interest. I could easily see the 2 of them heading up a series of strange cases.
At the same time, Eve & Nathan were interesting characters but didn't feel like a married couple. Eve's character also felt somewhat flat or one dimensional. It felt like the most fleshed out character was Rita, the detective.
This had multiple reveals, and each chapter brought imcreasing mysterious incidents. I wasn't really attached to the characters, but the story was paced in such a way that I did not care about that.
Thank you to Terri Parlato, RBmedia/Recorded Books, and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and review this audiobook. All opinions and viewpoints expressed in this review are my own.

3.5 ⭐️ for me on this one
I absolutely tore through it, and really didn’t see the end coming…in a bad way. (You thrillers readers know what I mean)
Eve is a psychiatrist in and old psych hospital.
Life seems to be going well, but when her sweet baby daughter is taken from her home, her life goes upside down. Who did this to her family, and is it connected to one of her patients?
This is a twisty ride. I listened to it quickly, and it’s a well done audio. Recommend, just wish the ending didn’t feel so coincidental.
Thank you netgalley for the advance listen.

I've read earlier last month this book, and now I just listened to the audiobook and wow!
Amazing audiobooks, well narrated, this make the book justice so much.

3.5 Stars rounded up!
I found this book to be a predictable domestic thriller, though it still managed to keep me intrigued. The story follows Eve and Nathan, a seemingly perfect couple whose lives begin to unravel as a series of sinister secrets come to light. From the unsettling happenings at Eve’s workplace to the chilling events in their quiet neighborhood, the tension builds steadily.
The writing was solid, and the Boston winter setting added a perfectly bleak atmosphere to the unfolding drama. While I guessed many of the twists early on, the one at the very end slightly shocked me, adding a satisfying layer to the conclusion!
Though not groundbreaking, the ride through this book was well-crafted and fun, especially for fans of twisty domestic thrillers! Thank you, NetGalley and RB Media, for an advanced audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Watch Your Back, by Terri Parlato, was the perfect audiobook to get me through a basically sleepless night because of a horrible winter cold that won't go away. I found both narrator's voices to be soothing and fitting for their respective characters. I connected with the wife's struggle to balance her career and marriage with a new baby. WYB was suspenseful and mysterious, and made me forget that I was supposed to be sleeping. Highly recommend!

This fast paced book with fantastic audiobook narration had me intrigued right from the start. I reveled in all the twists and was pumped to see how it was going to play out, only to be let down a bit by the ending. I guess I was hoping for more of a punchy end. Overall though, it was an exciting read and I've no doubt many will love it. I can't wait for the author's next book.

I loved Watch Your Back. This fast paced thriller kept me engaged until the very end. The twists and turns kept me guessing. I enjoyed how the chapters were told from Rita, Eve & Nathan POVs.
I also really liked how there were little extras incorporated into the story. How Rita draws sketches of the people she interviews and uses them to help her solve cases.
This is my first book by Terri Parlato. I understand that this is book 3 of the Detective Rita Myers series. Starting with book 3 didn’t hinder my enjoyment, understanding or ability to follow the story. I plan to go back and read book 1 & 2.
The cast of narrators - Nick Mills, Christina Moore & Rebecca Quinn Robertson did an excellent job with their parts.
Thank you to NetGalley & RBmedia for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was intense from the get go!. I really enjoyed it and couldn’t stop listening! The narration was wonderful. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this audiobook.

So, admittedly I did not know this was a series - and I read the first one for my book club in 2023!! So I was thrilled to be back with Detective Rita Myers!! Even more thrilled that there is a second book in the series that I can go back and read, as I discovered they are all stand-alones :-)
Anyway, thanks to NetGalley and the audio publisher for a chance to listen and review. Especially since this published during Xmas week and may not have gotten as much hype.
4.5 stars
I had a lot of fun! In her signature style, Terri neatly plotted multiple murders in which you keep guessing who the culprit is... and I guess I missed any clues because I was totally surprised! We start the book with Psychiatrist Eve's husband in the hospital - and he thinks he was hit in the head and pushed down the stairs, but he temporarily lost his sight after he woke up from his 6 day-induced coma. We go back in time to show how the perfect marriage had a bunch of tiny cracks that led to a decision that may have altered their entire future. Or did it? A child goes missing, a woman gets stabbed with scissors, and someone gets tied up while another gets shot in the foot. Hahaha! plenty of action to go around.
Because of the nature/personality of the detective, this to me, is a step-up from a popcorn thriller.
I would gladly read another by this author :-)

4.5/5
A great story. Narrated so well. I felt like I was watching a crime show. I would love more books with Rita as the lead detective.

I really enjoyed this suspenseful thriller. The narration was on point. I liked that this story was a little than others I have listened to lately. I never would have guessed the ending either. Highly recommend.
Many thanks for my gifted copy.

Watch Your Back by Terri Parlato
Narrated by Nick Mills; Christina Moore; Rebecca Quinn Robertson
Psychiatrist Eve met collision shop manager Nathan when a car ran her off the road and her car needed repairs. After a whirlwind romance the two married and Eve was pregnant before they even thought to discuss their views on kids. Now they have a baby girl and they are deep into the reality of this marriage they quickly cobbled together. Eve is back to being way too busy at work and feeling guilty about missing her single days with no husband and no baby. Nathan, who is a fantastic and very hands on father, resents a full time job and all household and baby chores being on him while barely getting to see or talk to his wife at all.
They do have an excellent babysitter, an elderly woman who adores the baby. But that all falls apart when the baby is taken from the babysitter's house. Nathan has something in his life that will not hold up to scrutiny, Eve has things at work that could lead to why their baby was kidnapped, the marriage of Eve and Nathan, which was on very rocky ground already, is unlikely to survive the fact that their baby is missing.
Detective Rita Myers is back and she's not going to give anyone any slack. She's going to look over and under and inside everything in order to find this baby. Spending time with her is always interesting to me. Being in her head is so entertaining, I could listen to her thoughts all day long so I'm always glad she's a part of this series. This is the third book that features Rita trying to solve cases so I'm calling this the Detective Rita Myers series.
I believe it is Christina Moore who narrates Detective Rita Myers and Christina's narration of Rita's POV is perfect. Rita is so down to earth, so matter of fact, but also unapologetically nosy and happy to share the nosy bits with us. She has been my favorite character throughout this three part series and although this book does not end on a cliffhanger, I consider the way the story ends as a hint that there is more to come. Bring on more Rita!
Thank you to RBmedia | Recorded Books and NetGalley for this ARC.

Thank you so much to Recorded Books for the gifted audiobook!
Title: Watch Your Back
Author: Terri Parlato
Narrated by: Christina Moore, Rebecca Quinn Robertson, Nick Mills
Length: 9 hrs and 23 mins
Release date: 12-24-24
This is my third book by Terri Parlato and all of them have been based around Detective Rita and her cases. She's really becoming a favorite detective character for me!
This one started off INTENSE right off the bat and I was totally enthralled in the story and the characters! A husband falling (or pushed?) down the stairs and in the hospital, a baby missing from her crib and that was all just in the beginning! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough!
I didn't trust anyone in this story and that made it so fun!
The way that things wrapped up was... interesting. I will say that I was tracking to rate this book 4 stars the whole way and then the ending had me kind of 🤔🤔 I will say I definitely didn't see it coming, so there's that 😂
Overall, a fun and quick read with less than satisfying ending for me. I still think it's worth the read though!
The narrators did a great job on the reading!!
3.5 rounded up

3.5 rounded up- Eve is a psychiatrist that never thought she would get married or have children, but after her car was run off the road, she met Nathan at his auto body shop and fell for him. Nathan and Eve have welcomed a baby girl, Rosewyn, into their lives. Due to Eve's high-pressure career, they have trusted the care of Rosewyn to a babysitter, Barbara, and everything is going well. That is until Rosewyn goes missing under Barbara's watch and secrets start coming forward.
Detective Rita Myers has been tasked with solving the kidnapping of Rosewyn and things keep getting weirder when the house behind Eve and Nathan's is broken into. Are these two crimes just a coincidence or are they connected? When clues keep pointing to Eve having a part in the crime, is she really at fault or is she a target of something bigger?
Watch Your Back was told from 3 POVs: Eve, Nathan, and Rita. I really liked the storytelling this way since we got to see the mystery from all their views and get further clues along the way. The characters were well developed and the story well written. I guess this is a part of a series, which I didn't know, and it didn't affect the readability of it as a stand-alone. There were some great twists and the story kept me engaged throughout.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and RBmedia for the audiobook for review!

This wasn't super twisty, and it was predictable, but the ride to the end is a good time with three points of views an affair, the babysitter, and the play of a working mother. Who kidnapped the baby? You can probably can guess, but it's a fun time figuring out why!

Oh man this was a fun one! A really good who dunit that will keep you guessing til the end. This book starts going in one direction and then boom totally different direction and way more storylines added to the overall plot! I think the pacing keeps you interested and you just want to keep going to peel back the mystery. If you’re looking for. Quick thriller that grabs you from the start this is going to be one for you. When starting this book i didn’t realize it was a series and i think it can easily be read as a stand alone. But it does make me want to go back and read the books prior to this one.
