This was such a fun listen/read! It felt twisty without being unrealistic, fast and suspenseful without being rushed and fresh without feeling overly comfortable. Megan Lally is definitely one of my favourite YA thriller authors, so this one absolutely did not disappoint, and the narrator definitely brought a lot of depth to these characters and this story!

Brooke works hard to maintain her image as the perfect golden girl and is attempting to put an incident from the past behind her. One night, an old truck starts aggressively tailing her and her friend. It seems to be someone who thinks they know what actually happened during “the incident” and think Brook is to blame. Will she survive and also be able to maintain her perfect image? I loved the premise of this one and was fairly entertained most of the time but it fell a bit flat for me overall. None of the characters were very likeable and it was easy to guess where the story of “the incident” was going. It was suspenseful but it felt like there was not enough back story given to fully explain what was happening and why. It also ended quite abruptly with little closure. I will say I was definitely surprised by who was behind all of the aggressive behavior toward Brooke. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was excellent and kept me engaged throughout. Thank you to NetGalley, Megan Lally, and RB Media for the gifted ALC. This is a voluntary and honest review.

This was so fantastic! I really enjoyed the fun ride this took me on. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick and easy thriller!

Thank you to RBmedia and NetGalley for the advance copy of No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally.
This is a fast-paced YA thriller that kept me turning pages, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The story follows Brooke, a seemingly perfect senior at a competitive prep school. She's popular, smart, and on track for big things until her former best friend Claire disappears, and Brooke becomes a person of interest. Things get worse when someone starts stalking her, leaving threatening messages and making her question who she can trust. The book alternates between "then" and "now," slowly unraveling what really happened the night Claire vanished. I enjoy a good psychological thriller, and this had all the right elements; high school drama, secrets, a mystery, but the tone and character choices just skewed a little younger than I usually like.
While the suspense was gripping and the dual timeline kept things interesting, I found the characters a bit one-dimensional. Brooke's perfect life felt a little too clichéd, and some of her decisions didn't resonate with me. The writing style is engaging, but the overall tone leaned more toward a younger audience, which made it harder for me to connect on a deeper level.
If you're into fast-paced YA thrillers and don’t mind a bit of teen drama, this might work better for you. For me, it was an okay read — not bad at all, just not quite my vibe.

So far I've loved both of Megan's books. I think I preferred "That's Not My Name" but honestly they were both really great. No Place Left to Hide had me holding my breath, sitting on the edge of my seat, zoning out so I could "listen better" I had to finish it in one sitting.

This book definitely leaned more YA that the author's debut novel, which was a bit of a let down. That is the first thing that comes to mind when I rate this book. I think having two novels so completely different from each other will be a little hard for audiences to look past.
That being said I think this novel is very middle of the road for me. I am not really a fan of the trope of being pursued by an unknown assailant but I wanted to give the book a chance since I loved the author's first novel so much.
The characterization and the twist were definitely shocking. This was one of those books where it was hard to find any character that you actually like which again, can make the book a harder read.
I gave this book a solid 3 stars. It kept me entertained but it just not my favorite premise for a novel and I am not a fan of the main character being someone that you end up not rooting for in the end.

BʅυɾႦ: To Brooke, image is everything. She works hard to maintain perfect grades, perfect looks, a perfect life—especially after "the incident" that threatened it all. Getting into her dream university puts her that much closer to a fresh start. How can she say no to celebrating with all her classmates?
Hanging out with her crush by the bonfire is the perfect end to the night. Except it isn't the end. An old truck starts aggressively tailing Brooke and her best friend on the isolated road toward home. Someone thinks they know the truth about "the incident," and they won't stop until it's all out in the open. This terrifying drive is about to bring out Brooke's worst fears…if she survives it.
Fαʋσɾιƚҽ Cԋαɾαƈƚҽɾ: Jenna! All I’m gonna say, is she is a damn good person! I don’t want to spoil a thing, so that’s all you get on her lol.
Wԋαƚ I Lιƙҽԃ: I could not stop listening! I finished this in two days when I could get breaks from my kiddos, and I just couldn’t wait to figure out the truth!! This is a fast paced “easy listen” if you will. I’ve read “That’s Not My Name” by this same author and loved it also! I think Megan Lally has become an auto buy for me! I’m loving her YA mysteries so much!
Thank you RBmedia, NetGalley and Megan Lally for this ALC!

I was so excited for this book. It’s everything I really like. But I was kinda disappointed. I really really hated Brooke. Her only personality trait is her dad being a lawyer. She’s just a rich spoiled kid. I mostly blame her dad for that but still. I was so angry the whole time because she is such a bitch. If the book ended with her dead I couldn’t care less to be honest.
The story had such good potential and was really fast paced which I love with books.
The good thing about this was really the police officer cause she didn’t care about her dad being a lawyer. And that Brooke finally gets some consequences for the first time in her life. Also nice plot twist at the end haha.
I loved the Narrator though. She is probably one of the only reasons why I finished this book.
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me a Audio ARC for this book.

This is a great story that blends the past and present fluently in the story which keeps you wanting to know more in each time. It had short easy chapters which kept me wanting to read just one more chapter mixed with me not wanting to put the book down! I ended up reading the book in a day and a half. It was predictable but still allowed the book to be very enjoyable.
The book is about Brooke who is trying to get into Yale by being the perfect student and daughter. There was an “incident” before her last year in school that could have changed it all for her. She stopped going to parties and started to focus on going away to school and away from her family. It’s admission day for Ivy League schools and Brooke is awaiting the announcement of her admission as her best friend is trying to convince her to go to a party to celebrate the news and meet up with her crush. Brooke agrees to attend as the night turns into a dark, scary, and reviling night.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and Recorded Books for the ALC.

No Place Left to Hide is an addicting and juicy YA thriller with a fascinating main character. I read this book in a day because I had to know what happened during that disastrous party. Great narration from Justis Bolding.

Really great YA thriller if you’re looking for something quick, fast paced, and an easy read. Thank you so much Netgalley and RBMedia for this ALC. The audio was fantastic, and the narrator did a great job, especially with alternating the timelines in this read. Brooke is the “perfect” high schooler, accepted into her college of choice, popular, the works. After an altercation between her and a former classmate the year prior ended in tragedy, it has been the one lingering thorn in her side. It’s the night of the party of the year, she’s just been asked to prom by her crush, and everything seems to be going well until the night takes an unexpected turn. We get to read glimpses of what happened in the past, and what’s going on present. It was a fun Ya thriller read.

Expect 👉🏼 YA Thriller, Golden Girl, Mysterious Death, Anonymous Threats, High School
Brook is class president, captain of the cheer squad, daughter of a politician and queen bee. She is finally getting her life back on track after the mysterious death of a classmate threw her life into turmoil. The closer she gets to graduation, the more the threats searching for “the truth” escalate. Until Brook isn’t sure if she will survive the drive.
👀👀whoa. Everything I have to say is a spoiler! 😆😆 so I won’t be saying much. That was quite the ride. I was on the edge of my seat and I didn’t turn it off once. Although I had some suspicions later in the book, I was not expecting the ending at all.
Justis Bolding did a great job narrating this story.
Thank you Recorded books for the alc.

This book was an absolute delight to read! It had everything I look for — engaging writing, memorable characters, and a story that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. The author’s voice is distinct and compelling, making it easy to get lost in the world they created, no matter the genre.
I'm incredibly grateful to the publisher for the early copy. It was such a joy to read this in advance, and I can’t wait for more readers to experience it. Highly recommend!

This is one swift and edgy ride (literally!). Delicious (maybe) antiheroine, high school settings, revenge and drama, what it is not to like?
Brooke, a highly competitive student, just got to Yale. High time to have a break from her studious year, her best friend Jenna says. There is a party and Brooke’s crush Dylan would be attending!
Brooke, who has a secret - she is being terrorized by a silent caller who has some kind of revenge on her, is unsure, but Dylan’s presence is a high motivator, so she goes. Her life is not to be shadowed by what has happened a year ago!
And the evening might be sweet, not for the memories and Claire’s brother. The dead Claire’s brother.
This is a good psychological thriller. I got some clues, but the twist was still unexpected. And the final twist, too!
And, what is not usually this way, the motivations of the characters were very logical when looking back!

After loving this author's first book "That's Not My Name", I was so excited to dive into this, and even more excited that I got the audiobook. Although this was a fun time, I struggled not to compare it to the first novel. So much of this book took place in just the car, and while I have read books that have done this successfully, I unfortunately did not think that this was one of them.

This review will be simple yet effective. I hope.
The author, Megan Lally wrote a very entertaining book. This was a fun book and fun ride. I listened to the audiobook. I highly recommend the audiobook if you like audiobooks but I suspect the actual book will be just as fun.
The narrator, Justis Bolding couldn't have done a better job. Audiobooks are either amazing, bla, or no way, where's the stop button. Justis Bolding was amazing.
Get yourself a copy of No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally and buckle up.

This was a super fast paced, thrilling book, which was set up perfectly for audiobook format. The narrator was great!

I loved Megan Lally’s “That’s Not My Name” and was excited to receive an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
This story was very YA with a PLL vibe. I know it’s classified as a YA thriller, but it was more high school than I had anticipated based on Lally’s debut.
The book runs in dual timelines by retelling the night of the party when Claire died and the present, where Brooke’s dealing with an “I know what you did last summer” stalker.
I wasn’t wowed by the reveal, and actually figured out who was behind everything by about 2/3 through the book.
That said, I was engaged and found this to be a fun read. I’ll be watching for more of Megan Lally’s work!

While I didn't like this book as much as Megan Lally's last book, it was a solid thriller and kept me entertained. The Narrator did a good job and I am glad I listened to the audiobook.
