What Hunts Inside the Shadows by Harper Woods was a surprise for me because it’s not often that I enjoy the sequel more than the first book in a series! I thought Harper Woods did a great job of transitioning this book from where I was left off in the first one as it picks up immediately where it left off. I really do enjoy the relationship dynamic between Estrella and Caelum but I will say the spiciness of the romance is not for everyone! Please make sure you read the disclaimers! My favorite lines of the book were “you are the only star in my sky”, which earns a response of “you are the only light in my darkness.” I thought that was beautifully woven in to the book, especially with the character development for both of the main characters. This book did leave on a big cliffhanger in the last 10 to 15 pages so I’m excited to read the next one!

I’m so excited to see how beautifully these are being re-released. It’s one of my favorite series and one of the best enemies to lovers I’ve read.

I enjoyed the pacing of this book a bit more, as we being to uncover more of Estrella's history along with all of the characters. It was nice to see that she has begun to accept who she is and solidify her relationship with Caldris.

The spice is great but I felt like the characters were once again traveling the entire time and things felt a bit redundant.

I did enjoy the ending as well and will be continuing on to book 3 now that things seem to be picking up.

Caelum and Estrella burn up the sky in What Hunts Inside the Shadows!

Harper L. Woods continues her magic with the second installment of the series and it is just as great, if not more suspenseful, full of tension and romance! The romance truly was so good! I love the characters and seeing them become stronger and theres more at stake, there's war, world building and we get to see deeper into the lore. I love that you can follow along and understand it. It's not too word dense and difficult to follow. I loved that it's easy to follow and we get a deeper dive into the series and meet other characters but the romance still goes strong and the chemistry between them is still strong. So much happens that is a must read, I cannot wait to keep reading his series. A serious must read for romantasy lovers!
