I loved this story — especially how it captures the love of the game of golf. It nails what makes golf so addictive: the quiet moments, the personal challenges, and the weirdly deep emotional stuff that happens somewhere between the tee box and the 18th green. The authenticity stands out. It's clear the author (Christopher Ransom) is a golfer -- and that makes a big difference when you’re reading a book about the game.
Even if you’re not a golfer, there’s something here for you: redemption, friendship, romance, and a few emotional gut punches you might not see coming.
The Turn is subtly funny, emotional, and hopeful. There are plenty of mature themes (addiction, mental health struggles), along with strong language and heavier content. So, I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a lighthearted read that’s safe for any audience. But if you're open to something a little messier and more real, this one will connect.

If you love sports books, or good stories or humor, then run to pick this book up as soon as it’s available. Right now this is in the running as my favorite book of 2025. The characters are written to seem “real” and I just enjoyed the overall story. Writing is crisp and very funny. Highly recommended!
