...you will see," he uttered, "that when it comes to you, I am engulfed in a constant battle to stay the course, to continue what I worked towards for a decade." His voice dropped to a whisper. "When it comes to you, Lore, I am utterly lost."
Lore of the Tides is the second and final instalment in the adult romantasy duology, Lore of the Wilds. Written in third person POV, we continue to follow Lore after a betrayal has left her imprisoned on a ship bent on finding the sun book. Lore knows the Alytherian Fae cannot get their hands on this book and she must find a way out of this ship to save the humans. Can she trust her magic and Fae male who she has always felt a pull for (who happens to also be trapped on said ship) to see her to the end...or will she find herself lost to the depths?
This book felt like the tide...pulling me in more and more as I kept going!
Lore in this book becomes so much stronger from the last. She is more confident in embracing her magic and takes these calculated risks that show she trusts herself and the magic that has chosen her. There are some moments of doubt and she definitely feels conflicted but she is human and I loved working through those moments with her.
Finn is a great companion for Lore. As time progressed he is that needed support for her to keep going. I liked exploring his curse a bit more in this book and his calm and stable personality meant that no matter the risk there was someone able to weather the storm.
Syrelle is a fascinating male character that I felt we got to sink out teeth into more. He hurt Lore in ways that mean redemption is hard but there are moments of vulnerability that give way to understanding him even if you cannot forgive. I liked seeing this depth in an antagonist, especially one with history like he does with Lore.
"From the moment I met you, all that I was, all that I had been, was undone because all that mattered - was you."
In terms of spice, I would place this book at 2 spicy peppers out of 5 spicy peppers. There are about 3 spicy scenes throughout this book with the first appearing about the 40% mark. The spice here helps cement a move in our characters that I enjoyed. As they become more focused in their goals they are more aligned - on top of the fact there is a lot happening that means spice isn't the priority. I did like how they didn't confine their spice to the bedroom as it upped the passion between our lovebirds. I think it was romantic and well written with detail. It is not the focus of the story - just a treat!
The story itself ultimately has an overarching story around locating the sun book and saving the humans but boy does it have a way of getting there with pirates, sirens, griffons, and more to halt the way. Admittedly there were times I was unsure why the story was going where it was going but it did give us lore and world building that was fascinating. I liked exploring new settings, new characters, as well as adding more depth to previous characters. It helped us better understand Lore's powers as well. There is a good amount of risk and I liked how we did get some action to push the intensity of the story. We get adventure, drama, banter as this story progresses that helps keep the pace - I felt the exploration of the sea really drew me in because I was not expecting it to have so much nuance around courts, magic, and survival! There was a part in the end that felt a little forced but Lore does make a turn around that I was grateful for. The ending is really sweet and things get wrapped up...I just hope we get to see the world again.
Overall, this was a great conclusion to this series! Thank you Harper Voyager for this arc!

I so badly wanted to love this book but unfortunately it just fell short to me.
If you do give it a try, I highly recommend rereading Lore of the Wilds (which I did right before). If I hadn’t, I think I would have been lost since this one picks up right where we left off.
I felt like this book read as YA (which is a genre I love btw) but then there were spicy scenes that almost seemed like they were added afterwards so it could be categorized as adult. It felt very disjointed.
And my big issue was that every time there was conflict, it was resolved so easily & conveniently to make anything feel high stakes.

Such a great conclusion to this duet! I LOVED Finn so much. And my girl Lore? Obsessed with her. These books were very quick and easy to read. So much that everyone can take from these books also. Would highly recommend.

Lore is the best heroine. She manages to be both compassionate and fierce at the same time. She never cowers when things get dicey and she does what she thinks is right regardless of what other people tell her to do. Reading about her gives me so much life.
It would've been easy for Lore to give up or back down after the conclusion of the first book, but she knew what she wanted and she continues to pursue it in this book.
We go on the best and craziest adventures in Lore of the Tides! Lore meets new characters and explores different places. There is a really amazing expansion to this world and so many interesting details to keep the reader engaged throughout this book. I found myself so engrossed that I didn't want to put it down!
The magic in this book is one of my favorite things. I love how it is almost a tangible object. I feel like it relates to real life in the same way that crystals and symbols and other things give people power and strength and magic. This book also has a lot to do with hope and fighting oppression. The way this magic helps to fight those issues is so uplifting and empowering. These are obviously relevant topics in our lives today and I think this book is both entertaining and helpful.
Analeigh really turned up the heat with this book! Book one gets a little steamy but we get several solid spicy scenes in book two. Romantasy fans will rejoice!
Duologies are SO FREAKING GOOD because they tie up everything so nicely in two perfect books. This was a great conclusion to book one. I loved the additional characters and the return to some old characters too. We get answers and conclusions but we also get to branch out and see and learn all new things that make this book a fantastic adventure. I cannot wait to see what Analeigh Sbrana does next!
Thank you times a million to Harper Voyager for the ARC in exchange for an honest review :)

was so so excited to read this before i realized it was a series! that's honestly on me and i will give an actual review when i get to reading the first one, and then this one. but it looks gorgeous! can't wait!

i really enjoyed this duology!! it is perfectly whimsical & easy to follow along with. i really love the narrator for the audio, it really added to the story for me!

I really loved the first half of Lore of the Wilds, and I’d hoped that Lore of the Tides would be more along those lines. Instead, it was more in the vein of the second half of book 1: a bunch of stuff happening with minimal consistency and explanation.
First, there’s the entire retcon with Syrelle. Are we… supposed to be rooting for them as a couple? Why? Then there’s Finn, who for some reason has decided that Lore’s life is the only thing in the world that matters. I think it’s supposed to be romantic, but to me, this came across as flat and cringey. The pacing didn’t work for me, I didn’t care about the characters, and the events didn’t seem well thought out. I got through about 200 pages of this and DNFed.
I know some people who love this series, so the audience is out there, but it’s not me.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!
I like Lore as a character; she's solid. She's the reason I wanted to get to the end. The pacing was great, and so was the adventure. I love a book that takes me places.
With that said, this still didn't read adult to me. I wasn't interested in the romance, but there was a lot of it. I came back because the last part of the first book intrigued me. I needed dude to be a villain (you know who I’m talking about), but he let her go too easily. She didn't need two love interests, she needed some fire under her ass. Yes, a lot happened, but everything fell into place so easily for them. My eyes were narrowed for most of the book, mainly when it came to that and the romance. This was like high stakes and low stakes all at once. I was stuck in the in-between, so a lot of it fell flat for me in the end. It wasn't horrible, though, this just concluded that the series isn't for me.
For those who enjoyed the first book, you might love this one. The structure improved and we were introduced to some pretty cool stuff.

Honestly...I hate that I even have to leave this review because I wanted to love this book. I wanted to love it so much because I RACED through Lore of The Wilds; loved every second of it. While I'm grateful for the eARC of this, I struggled to even finish it. I'm not sure if there was a different editor for the first book, I'm not sure what happened but this just seemed to fall apart. I stopped caring about halfway through and struggled to even push through and finish it. There were a couple really great one liner quotes like, "In that moment, they were ships passing in a typhoon, each locked in their own tempestuous voyage." But then the 2nd half of the quote, "His heart was an unknowable vessel, one without a flag or standard, no insight to articulate, with certainty, the veracity of where he stood. Her own heart ached for the storm to subside. For safe harbor." that feels like were trying to hit some kind of word count. The majority of the book feels like YA but then there is spice and it just feels forced and out of place to the rest of the story.

In the love triangle setting I’m always rooting for the less problematic one and Finn always gave me that vibe. Plus in this book he SHINED and hot damn was he HOT. 🥵
Lore is battling it out with herself over betrayals she experienced and how to get over it. You can really tell that she misses having a community and how isolated she is during the first part of this book. I could her loneliness on page and it ached 😭. But my bad ass wasn’t down for long and she exploded in the best way when it came down to it.
Highly recommend reading! 📖

Oh wow what a way to conclude this duology. I loved all the twists and turns. Poor Lore couldn’t catch a break. The love triangle has come full circle and I’m very happy with her choice. A couple of open door sex scenes, and they were spicy and fun. Thank you to NetGalley for the arc.

Lore of the Tides is the sweeping, emotional sequel I was hoping for—and I’m so glad I waited to start book one (Lore of the Wild) until I had this ARC in hand. The way book one ends? You need book two immediately. Shoutout to NetGalley and the publisher for blessing me with early access!
While the beginning of Lore of the Tides starts a little slower, the world expands in such a rich, meaningful way. Characters introduced in the first book get more depth, and the realm itself is explored more fully, which makes the stakes feel bigger and the setting even more immersive. And yes—the titles make sense once you read both books, and I love that kind of layered storytelling.
Let’s talk about Lore as a main character: she is everything. She’s soft-hearted, , and a complete force. Her growth in this book is powerful—she steps into her strength without shedding her kindness, which I really appreciated. Too often, female characters are written like they need to harden to be “strong,” but Lore proves you can be fierce andfeel deeply. She chooses to protect her people, not out of vengeance, but out of love, and it’s such a refreshing arc.
This book also does a great job with diversity. The cast is wide-ranging and thoughtfully written, which made the world feel more dynamic and inclusive. And yes, there’s a love triangle—but surprisingly, I didn’t hate it! It was well-handled and never took away from the bigger narrative.
There were also moments that hit emotionally—hard. Some scenes definitely echoed real-life struggles, and you can tell the author pulled from real experiences and themes. It added a level of authenticity that deepened the impact of the story.
If you’re someone who loves:
🌊 Expansive worldbuilding
🛡️ Soft but strong heroines
💔 Political tension & emotional stakes
Then this duology is for you. I’m so grateful I got to read it back-to-back—it made the journey that much more rewarding.
Thankful to be getting this ARC through NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager publishing

This is the conclusion of the Lore of Wilds duology, about a young human woman who comes to learn she has magic and must save her people. Thank you to the author, HarperVoyager and NerdFam for my eArc.

The Lovely: Much like book one, the world building is easily my favorite part of this book. There are fantastic multi-sense descriptions of the settings. The underwater world is especially beautiful. I also loved how Lore’s magic is described, both in terms of how she accesses it and how she applies it.
The Mundane: I struggled with the pacing and timing of this book. Sometimes it felt as though the story was dragging and at other times it seemed to rush by. In addition, the ending felt quite short and compacted, almost anti-climatic compared to the buildup.
Recommendation: With the attention to detail and lush descriptions, this book is an immersive reading experience. While it doesn’t have the cottagecore vibes of book one, the ethereal magic and water vibes are perfection. If you like a not quite cozys but not dark or too tense story, with beautiful magic and settings, I think you would like this book.

This is such a unique romantasy. There’s yearning but with not just one MMC but two! Half the time I kept going back and forth with who I wanted the FMC to be with and it’s hard to choose. Lore is a strong-willed FMC who LOVES books. I couldn’t ask for a better lead to a book. It’s also a book where I felt seen. There were so many small but sweet moments that I could relate to and I absolutely loved that. I also enjoyed the change of setting. No spoilers but the tides had the adventure that I’ve been waiting for. This is a great sequel!

This was really good. So much action and adventure. I loved the writing and the world building and the magic. I also loved the love triangle! Two fae males and a human coming into her power.
Analeigh did a great job with this duology! I can't wait to read more of what she writes.

"You broke my f***ing heart, and now I question everything... everything."

I felt so bad for Lore at the end of book 1, and I shared in her hurt and anger in this sequel. She endures more than she should have to, but she wasn't about to let any man come between her and saving her people.
"She would take everything from him. She would be his utter ruination. And then, she would set his entire beloved kingdom on fire."
Finndryl, the man that you are! THAT is a ride or die man that is loyal to a fault. I've been rooting for you since book 1, Finn. 👌
This is a slower paced, more character driven type of fantasy. The plot did seem to lose direction a bit in places, but it all came together in the end.
The audio narration was decent. I give it a respectable 3.5, simply because the cadence of the sentences were off more often than I would have liked. Pause breaks in the wrong places, that sort of thing.
"From the moment I met you, all that I was, all that had been, was undone because all that mattered- was you."

This was everything in a sequel that I could’ve hope for! There’s danger, suspense, a new world, new characters, and romance! Our girl Lore embarks on such a journey and along the way she has several self discovery moments. I really appreciate that we get more backstory of the main characters. This really helped me understand and connect dots that were dropped in Lore of The Wilds. She even had me delulu for the bad boy! It was definitely giving the I hate you but I love you vibes! The magic system is so cool and the setting for this book was so unreal, I was in awe! The writing was so vivid and descriptive, it felt like I was right there in the midst of it all. A huge thank you Net Galley and Harper Collins for approving me to read my highly anticipated releases as an ARC.

Lore of the Tides picks up where book one left off and I was eager to continue the story from there. The first couplw of chapters set the tone for the story perfectly. Lore was recovering from a huge betrayal, figuring how she can save herself and her loved ones, all while creating some much needed changes in the kingdom. She was fighting something or someone at every turn and every challenge seemed to fuel Lore's persistence to become even stronger and smarter.
The plot and characters of the story made the book absolutely unputdownable. The writing style was magical. There were topics discussed in the book that I don't read about often but loved the way they were described. The love interests, the chemistry and the banter were some of my favorite parts. Overall, I couldn't get enough of this book and it is one of 5 star reads of the year!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
4.5/5 stars
What a great conclusion to Lore’s duology! This book is an Epic Adventure. Like, there is a LOT that happens. And just keeps happening! There is somewhat of a love triangle but it’s different than what I’ve read before.
🧜♀️Lore is a human and is trying to save her fellow humans from the hands of an evil Fae king. You know how the FMCs in fantasy stories will obtain new found powers and just know how to use it? Well at first I thought that was happening, but the more I sit with this story and really think back on it…there is growth. Lore isn’t always stronger than those you wouldn’t think she should be able to defeat. She is actually very relatable and I do love the inner monologue that we get! You know what else was refreshing?! A FMC in a fantasy book that has to deal with her monthlies! When I said that she is relatable…I meant it. It is refreshing.
🖤There’s spice. Not a whole lot, but what is there is open door and descriptive.
🤍The romance is so sweet and I have multiple highlighted quotes that I just adored!! There’s one place in the story where one MMC braids Lore’s hair for her and I just melted. So, so sweet.
⚔️The plot is good with lots of development and *multiple* locations. You fall in love with characters who choose to do the right thing only because it’s the right thing to do. 🥹
I really enjoyed this story!!

I was so excited to continue this duology! There is a massive amount of character growth throughout this. We also do get some answers for people's actions but it still left me wondering. I have always adored Finndryl but getting to know him more in this book was amazing. I was happy to see how this concluded and really enjoyed the duology as a whole. Thank you NetGalley & Avon and Harper Voyager for the opportunity to arc read this.
